I see. Either way, the buy walls in place seem to be doing their job Smiley

Correct - and every coin sold will be that much more difficult to get back.

What happened to the buy wall? I thought there was a 3 btc buy wall? Am I mistaken?

We see a cheap buying opportunity here. Enjoy it while it lasts.
1927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CHIP] Chipcoin | X11 PoW | Yobit | C-Cex | Low Inflation on: November 04, 2015, 06:34:39 AM
It appears "smartpoker" is using almost the same same ticker as us since a few days... SIGHS.....

So if you deposit on c-cex... make sure you desosit to a CHIP address.. and not a CHIPS address..

I have posted in their thread, with a request to change their ticker (again lol)

Noticed the ticker a while back and posted that it could cause confusion with Chip but do not think they care
1928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Team FLY : v1.6 wallet released! The most trusted coin in crypto! on: November 04, 2015, 05:08:23 AM
I agree. A more respected exchange would be better. We dont have enough average vol for bittrex, cryptsy is very unstable and polo is run by bots. Im open to suggestions guys.

Vegas

Have you contact bleutrade.com yet? I think is a good one.

I agree - I think Bluetrade is a good option  to investigate. We need to know their requirements
and make sure we have everything ready. For example, some exchanges require a website and our
website is under construction. Some require the coin to be aged - no 1 month old dying coins, etc.
This is a long term coin and we are building for the long term.
1929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Team FLY : v1.6 wallet released! The most trusted coin in crypto! on: November 04, 2015, 02:15:23 AM
Where the hell did that 9BTC dump come from?

I thought the top 19 were accounted for on the richlist and thought they were only allowed to sell their stake and not dump their discounted coins?

My long version of Vegas' post:

A great question which will take a bit of detective work to answer.

1st - Only those who have purchased directly from Vegas have agreed, as a requirement of the
purchase, not to sell any of their purchase. They are listed in the Ann. Additionally, team members,
like myself, have voluntarily agreed not to sell our initial coins from the swap or, the
purchases we have made from yobit. There are 11 team members in the top 19 who
have made the agreement not to sell Swapped/Purchased coins.

The agreement, as stated in the ann, allows sale of POS stakes. To my knowledge -
no team members are selling POS which goes into a separate POS only address via
the Savings feature of the wallet. (Selling POS would not account for the dumped coins).

The other 8 claimed addresses in the top 19, due to purchases or coins from the original swap,
are not bound by an agreement They have not given their word to not sell. An initial look at the top
19 shows 1 person moving a lot of 2,000 coins a few days ago. He did not buy from Vegas directly
and while invited into the team, he decided that team restrictions were not for him and is not part
of the team. Vegas has been unable to change the Ann yet removing his name.

Previously, there was up to 2000 coins listed for sale on Yobit plus the 2,000 moved. Currently,
only about 1,000 coins are available on Yobit. This means the market absorbed the dump plus
1,000 more coins. The price got knocked down to .0017 but has alredy recovered to
.0025. I see that as positive.

One thing I feel important to note is that the top 19 are excited about the coin enough to claim their addresses.
I encourage more from 20 on down to do the same. And, I hope we can add more team members to assist with
the future developments being discussed by the team.

Since the coin is still very young, there will be those interested in the quick profit, selling now at what will one day
be considered a low price. The goals and commitment of the FLY team are long term and unchanged. We have much
work planned and are only at the beginning.

Sorry for the book here.

Hmmm.... 7 year old technology should not be giving you a problem.
I still use my Commadore 64 computer with 64 k memory.
Oh... and dialup internet connection.

Actually, When I got dial up - there was only 1 on-line store but it took so long to
make a purchase i drove to the actual store faster than I could buy on-line.

We will never have enough vol to stay on Bittrex , Cryptsy is too unstable right now, polo run by bots. Need suggestions.

Vegas

Bleutrade is not a high volume Exchange, but there is good activity on it.  Second suggestion would be Cryptopia, only the interrace is not a smooth others.

I agree with these 2 suggestions:
BlueTrade is a good exchange & works well. I have used it for trading ERC, Fuel and Steps.
Volume depends upon the coin and the promotion of the coin on BCT thread.
Cryptopia does need more promotion and volume but could do well if promoted on thread.
Some of the coins many do not know trade there are CAP, Hyper, HBN, GP. I believe as
people become frustrated with other exchanges - volume will pick up.

400% down & 0 developement aside from taking 2-3 weeeks for a mac wallet that costs 0.5 btcs or less. Yeah if dev put half as much time promoting 'his' coin as the coins he obviously invested the 20 ico BTCs in, BRE woouldnt be in this state. So much for  trusting non-noob devs he!!! what a joke

How can you say that, he is one of the "trusted" investors of FLY lmao

OK - I am missing the tie between Breakcoin and FLY?? If you are implying Greg of Doom
is on the FLY development team, it is simply not a fact. He has stopped by the thread and
left some nice comments which are appreciated.

I see a fundamental problem with the burn idea. The dev. have build in
insider trading in that, they can buy cheap coins. Advertise the burn and
profit from the supply reduction. Will it be viewed as self serving or community
service? Could be good or a Pump and dump>>>?

1935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]FREEDOMCOIN - Yobit on: November 01, 2015, 03:20:23 PM
Yes, I agree. Well, if TheInfidel wanted another quick pump'n'dump affair then he got the wrong coin. Of course a somewhat higher price would be better and ease the mind of some investors but so far the price shows nothing but perhaps that the ICO price was a bit high for nowadays customs and that PoS rewards do help short time with providing more or a gold rush feeling, as long as it can hold against an increased inflation pressure that is.

I can understand andrepierre though and he brought up a valid question. Although I disagree with him as well. I don't see it as a bad thing if 2 coins use synergies (badly over- and misused word but I can't think of a better one at moment) and since this other coin is an old project, doesn't it as well show that placebo still cares about the coins he is/was involved even after months? That should be a good sign.

I agree but investors were mislead, I invested in Freedom and have no interest in Ros.

If 2 coins share the website cost then, it is a value to holders of either coin.
If freedom is paying for the  Ros portion of site then, not so good for Freedom
holders to foot the whole bill. Just depends on how the costs are paid.
Synergy of 2 coins promoting each other can be a very good thing. Time
will tell.
1936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Burn, will it work? 2 coins in 1 month, which will survive beyond PoB? on: November 01, 2015, 03:13:41 PM
Considering that 90% of all new coins fail ... which is more likely to fail?

If you're rounding to the nearest integer, it'd be more accurate to use 100%.

The up side of rounding to the nearest int is that it makes it trivial to answer the 2nd question: both are 100% likely to fail.

The devil is, as ever, in the detail.

Cheers

Graham

Totally agree: sucess depends upon presentation,
hard work, marketing and community acceptance (demand)
I think the idea of burn to reduce inflated #'s coins and combat inflation
is good but, everyone wants the other guy to give up coins
to increase the value of theirs. Dead coins are well - dead.

A Revival of a dead coin means an active developer working on the coins,
creating a buzz, a purpose , and communication.

Ok my mouth is getting me in trouble. I need to cool it. I was trying to check the version number on Yobit wallet and make sure they are on 1.6, and I got frurstrated because Blacksmith was not answering and he was there, and he came on and banned me until 11-8-15.

Hey, does anyone have any experience of using the HYPER win wallet with Wine on a Mac? I keep getting a MinGW Runtime assertion error. The Mac OS wallet I know is not supported and mine recently died on me Sad

Ok so forget Wine, I've downloaded Windows 10 on Parallels, and the latest version of the windows Hyper wallet. Unfortunately that's not working either. It keeps saying that it's already running, when its not. Going back to the Mac wallet that I had previously, I'm very confused about what it is I should back up - everything on this forum says I should back up the wallet.dat file, but I've never had a wallet.dat file in the Hyper directory - just the blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat. Am I missing something here? Also, when you say 're-download the blockchain' which file are you talking about? I tried downloading the bootstrap but all that's there is a bootstrap.dat, which when I copy it into the folder doesn't help (I still get the 'Error loading blkindex.dat' problem). Sorry guys I've been at this for nearly a day now but still no luck. Any help would be much appreciated!

Yes, you only need the wallet.dat file.

This is from another thread about a mac bitcoin wallet.dat, but I would imagine you'd find it in the Hyper folder like this:

/Users/<your-user-name>/Library/Application Support/Hyper/wallet.dat

Are you sure you are looking in the "Application Support" folder within your home folder, as opposed to the other "Application Support" folder at the root level of your hard disk?

That is, the file is here:
/Users/<your-user-name>/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/wallet.dat

NOT here:
/Library/Application Support/

I don't know that Windows 10 has been officially tested with the Hyper wallet, so it may be causing issues.

Back to the mac issue. If you want to re-download the blockchain, close out the wallet, and copy your wallet.dat file to a flash drive or another location.

Then delete the blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat files and put the downloaded bootstrap file in that folder.

Now open the wallet program again, and it may take several hours to read the files from the bootstrap, just leave it alone and don't shut down the computer while it's running. At some point you should see the wallet pop open and it will download the new data. You can close it out at that point if you need to shut down the computer, but close the wallet first. Just keep the wallet open until it gets synced up.

Ok so I don't seem to have a /Users/<your-user-name>/Library/ folder, so its definitely not in there. A search for a wallet.dat file yields no results. I even recall that when I first downloaded the Hyper wallet back in January there was no wallet.dat file in the Hyper directory (which was placed in /Users/<your-user-name>/Hyper/) which I thought was strange because I've had other altcoins before and made backups of the wallet.dat files. I assumed that one of the blk0001.dat or blkindex.dat was the equivalent. I've just re-downloaded the Hyper software for Mac and had a look to confirm and for sure the only files in the /Users/<your-user-name>/Hyper/ directory are blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat, along with a 'database' folder which has a log file inside.

Sooo...I'm kinda at a loss here. If I delete both the blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat files then nothing of my original wallet will be left and I will lose all my coins on a new install. Any other Mac users found a wallet.dat file?

I don't have a mac, so I'm searching up where it should be located, but if you open the wallet does it work at all? You can backup from the File pull down menu and save it to another location. I'll check the internet and see where else a wallet.dat would hide on a mac...

edit: here's a page saying the folder may be hidden or you may have chosen another folder originally.

edit 2: reddit thread - "MacOS keeps the Library hidden. To show the Library open the Terminal app and type < chflags nohidden Library > Now you can search for your wallet file in the finder."

Deleting blk0001.dat and dlkindex.dat cannot lose your coins - your address in the wallet.dat is the tie to your coins - lose your wallet and no backuo - you have a problem then
