How much electricity does the banking/credit card system use?

Maybe power the computers with solar power or some other form of sustainable energy.

RebelWorm Wink

Is it just me or is it the creepiest thing I've seen in a while?

It's definitely not just you Cheesy.
19283  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drone Air strike kills 15 civilians (on their way to a wedding) in Yemen on: December 14, 2013, 11:07:52 AM
shit happens

You consider the murder of innocent people "shit" ? As if bombing people from unmanned aircraft and "accidentally" killing innocent people is acceptable in any way?

The problem is that the alternative to drones is a land invasion and slaughter of the "guilty."  Even assuming the "guilty" (using scare quotes as the war on terror is mostly bullshit) are killed, a few 10s of 1000s of innocents would die as the marines fought their way there.

Or you guys could just stop invading other countries and mind your own business.. no offense

9/11 happened.  Until there is no chance of it happening again, its fair to say that countries that harbour suspects will be seeing military action of some kind.

Seriously? The United States is harbouring the biggest terrorists in the world. Are foreign governments now justified in invading the USA and murdering citizens willy-nilly to get the bad guys? And what did 9/11 have to do with Iraq or Afghanistan? And there'll never get rid of 'terrorists'. In fact they're only creating more by killing innocent people, and I don't blame them. I'd become a terrorist to the USA if they invaded my country and killed my friends and family.
19284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help posting to Gambling board on: December 14, 2013, 11:00:14 AM
I have discovered a bug in a gambling website which a great deal of us here use on a regular basis.

It is very important that i have the ability to post to the gambling board or have the ability to contact the administrator of said gaming website.

I do not want to name the website as to not tarnish their great name.

So please can i get access to the gambling / casino boards or is it possible to get PM abilities.

thank you

Ohh and BTW long time forum reader never signed up or posted though until now.

again thank you admins

Can you not message them via their website? PM me the username and I can contact them if you wish.

Probably because Eeew, worms  Cheesy.
19286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most epic Bitcoin image in the world! on: December 14, 2013, 10:50:03 AM
That kind of weird activism gives me the feeling that bitcoin will never become mainstream  Embarrassed

It's this kind of activism that gets it into the mainstream

Its just another example of how transformative a technology bitcoin is. All you need now is an image and people can send you money. That's fantastic innovation.

I agree. Love this about it. Imagine being in a foreign country and your family or friends being able to send you money easily. This is why I hope Bitcoin starts getting picked up by merchants in more and more locations. I'd love to be in all these different counties and see the Bitcoin logo. Hopefully this will become a reality one day.
19287  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! on: December 14, 2013, 10:45:29 AM
This is more difficult that I thought, especially with the newb restrictions of only one post per 6 minutes  Angry. I'm aiming for the 101-250 posts for 0.06BTC, but not sure if I should try for the 251-500 for 0.12BTC or not.

Depends how fast you can post. Maybe just play it safe rather than wasting time on this month and go for more on the 17th.

Once you get more posts the time limit drops. I'm down to a minute now, but I'm sure it's actually less than that.
19288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hello all im for dogecoins on: December 14, 2013, 10:42:07 AM
Hello all I am here for:

I think I'm getting a little tired of the dogecoin joke now, but that was funny.
19289  Economy / Goods / Re: What can I sell and ship from Australia on: December 14, 2013, 10:26:10 AM
Hi

I am looking to make some money, what can I buy in Australia and ship overseas that's in demand?

Kangaroos
Those hats with corks on
Sunshine
Kylie Minogue

Seriously though, what goods/items do you have that are native to Aus? Any specific foods or brands etc? Maybe you could offer CDs. I know there's a lot of good Australian bands around at the moment.
19290  Economy / Services / Re: Need an item from the UK? I'll buy it, ship it, then you pay for it! [Worldwide] on: December 14, 2013, 10:11:22 AM
I was thinking about offering a similar service based in italy  Smiley , i think we would not overlap our markets because our food is pretty different.
Could you plese give me an hint on where i can find the regulation regarding international shipping of food? And about your earnings, are you already running an activity or you're going to consider a btc--->item exchange as barthering  things between privates?

If you want i should be glad to barter some of your porky-things with some italian food Smiley . Also, if you want to resell it (i'm probably not going to set up a business by myself because of the lack of time)  i can bulk-ship food from italy

I'll send you some "proper" pizza haha.

Each country had different rules on shipping food. Australia is really strict on what you can ship or bring in for example. In America Kinder Eggs are not allowed because they didn't pass food safety laws or something. It's best to check on a case-by-case basis, but most countries are fine with most food.

I tried a few times to order a can of Surströmming.
Still haven't found one that would ship this to eastern Europe.

I didn't know what that was, so I just googled it and it seems vile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surstr%C3%B6mming

Quote
When opened, the contents release a strong and sometimes overwhelming odour; the dish is ordinarily eaten outdoors. According to a Japanese study, a newly opened can of surströmming has one of the most putrid food smells in the world
Shocked
19291  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Max Keiser comic on: December 14, 2013, 10:08:51 AM
Good one. Keiser wants to pump his Quarks now.

Would be great to see more comics here on BTCtalk  Grin This is the first one I've seen here!

It's not the first one , but I'm not sure about how good this really is.
I'm not a fan of comics my self but I don't get it , wasn't this thing supposed to be funny?

Yeah, that Keiser 'comic' was pretty shit.

Haha, I didn't get it either  Huh.
19292  Other / Meta / Re: Forum avatar? on: December 14, 2013, 10:01:31 AM
I hate to necro an old thread, but is this still disabled?  I was just about to add it before the last attack >.<   Any plans to get this back and going?  Does it matter if my avatar has a kool cat in it?  that has to be worth something...

At least you searched and didn't just create a new thread.

Crap Sad

Can you at least consider adding this cool Bitcoin logo to the list of standard avatars?

Anyone got a bigger version of this?
19293  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does wikipedia remind of you the beggards on this forum? on: December 14, 2013, 09:57:05 AM
Yes, I do refute all of the above, unless you can convince me otherwise. What evidence do you have that Sandy Hook was a 'fake' shooting, or Boston Bombing was a false flag attack carried out by Nato etc? And what was the reasons for them?
It's not rocket science. The only way this current bankrupt system may continue in north America, is by turning the average American citizen or resident into a 'terrorist.' This translates to billions of dollars spent on high tech security equipment (vendors who just happen to be part of Homeland Security itself), and the opportunity to levy all sorts of spurious fines, fees and extra charges, to keep the machine going for as long as possible before the final collapse.

The reason for all the false flags is that there is NO real terrorist threat, so the government has to fabricate it. It's called psychological warfare. Wikipedia is part of the same psychological warfare outfit.

"American people don't believe anything until they see it on television.” Richard M. Nixon

I agree with you that there is little-to-no worry for terrorist threats, and that the general public are easily mislead by the media, but you need some evidence other than pure speculation and assumption. Not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes people just like to shoot and kill and blow each other up.
19294  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! on: December 14, 2013, 09:50:18 AM
score! i have hit 1200 for the month.. christ, that was painful  Cheesy

currently sitting at 1482 with this post now.. will probably limit my posts to 15 per day until the 17th, as i am really worn out at this point  Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah, but half of these don't count because you just post nonsense. haha jk. Congrats, I know how much hard work it is, but it's worth it. I'm about 270 posts away.
19295  Other / Off-topic / Re: Shit things that has happened to you today on: December 14, 2013, 09:39:43 AM
I wanted to go to a show and no one wanted to go with me. It was free too :/

Why didn't you go by yourself? And what band?
19296  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I wrote an article for a socialist group I am in - 'A Left Defence Of Bitcoin' on: December 14, 2013, 09:27:00 AM
The pseudoanonimity of the system may be very bad for taxes once people - the new generation - start to learn how to become anonymous. Unless the government have NSA-tons of computer power, following the steps of every transaction to bust tax evasions would be impossible. And I don't want my government to have NSA-tons of computer power.

Isn't cash pseudo-anonymous and bad for taxes? If you get paid cash-in-hand for stuff; there's no record. Plenty of business and self-employed people work this way. All Bitcoin transactions leave a paper-trail online, all aso uthorities have to do is try connect the dots.
19297  Other / Meta / Re: AVATAR won't load on: December 14, 2013, 09:21:19 AM
Like people would read it, or even look. Would be better if added to the profile page where you set the profile picture.

I think that would be a wise idea. Still, I'm sure we'd still get one or two of these threads haha.
19298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The press make me laugh with how they cover bitcoin, even now at 2013's end on: December 13, 2013, 09:56:18 PM
In his "Bitcoin is Illuminati one world currency" piece, Alex says:

"Y'know, these days, I do all my thinking with my gut"

And I could not help but think "yeah, both of your chins are kind of giving that one away"

Haha yeah, I saw that. Maybe he should try using his brain instead of his grumbling gut. Annoys me how he's always trying to sell his shitty water filters and crappy 'patriot blend' coffee. What a jebend.

You're just mad because I exposed your latent homosexuality.

Mainstream media not understanding something and getting facts wrong... what's new?

But even the "underground", "alternative" press are struggling, zerohedge not least (and their whole ethos is "the sky is falling, just really slowly.... watch it carefully").

Found Alex Jones talking about bitcoin on youtube just now, it's a "globalist techno-fascist plot", predictably.

Yeah, Alex Jones cracks me up. He thinks everything is down to the New World Order.
