Many people on this forum are not native English speakers. They may not use the language perfectly but at least they try. There are also many children here that don't attempt to use perfect written communication. They are at a disadvantage because they were schooled in the USA.

You're right, and I sort of agree with your original point, that is, provided you can get your point across, some spelling/grammatical errors shouldn't be much of an issue. But I don't think anyone here is trying to stop them from using the forum or some such... you learn as you go, as you use the language. So I was just pointing out that using Spanish, even though you can use a translation service to understand it, it does little to help them learn English, and is probably not that great at communicating with most of the users of this forum.  Tongue

English is a notoriously difficulty language to learn. I don't begrudge anyone for not having perfect grammar. English and Americans are generally lazy when it comes to learning another language anyway, so I find it rich when they criticise others when they themselves cannot use the language properly, nor can they speak another language other than their own. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever met somebody with perfect English grammar, and of course that includes myself and, ironically, most so-called grammar nazis.
19342  Economy / Services / Re: Need an item from the UK? I'll buy it, ship it, then you pay for it! [Worldwide] on: December 13, 2013, 11:46:19 AM
Are pork scratchings not available in the US, or is it just the Mr Porky ones that aren't?

They probably are, but its like comparing a microwave pizza from frozen to a fresh pizza made with a stone oven in Italy.

It's really down to personal preference, but pork scratchings in the UK are so tasty!

I dunno, they all kinda look and taste the same to me. And pizzas in Italy are shit. Biggest disappointment of my life haha.

All down to personal preference, everyone likes different things, it's what makes the world so diverse Smiley

That is true, but me and my friend consider ourselves Pizza connoisseurs and were so excited to try genuine Italy Pizza, but both were severely dissapoint  Cheesy.
19343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: General question: How do you know when to sell? on: December 13, 2013, 11:41:03 AM
You don't

Do your homework on cryptos and set yourself to hold over a multi year period and you will be fine

You can make quite a bit of money on daytrades, but like you said, I prefer to hold on to my coins and not worry about the stress of buying and continually selling.
19344  Economy / Services / Re: Earn upto 0.6 BTC per month for your signature! on: December 13, 2013, 11:40:04 AM
Could you please atleast send some btc to an escrow so that I might actually consider this?

I might consider joining after a month if you do actually pay out.
There is no way that he is going to pay that much. He refuses to use escrow and has incredibly high rates? It makes absolutely no sense. OP, prove me wrong.

Ya. All he did was give a snapshot of coinbase. That doesnt really mean anything.

Can't you just wait few days and ask people who subscribed before?

Well IMO that doesn't prove anything either - TF decided to run away and screw up his ad signature payments along with it - after paying successfully without a problem for many months.  I'm thinking that we can't give this user as much trust as we could with TF before he scammed; it's a new user that is offering the highest of payouts while copying Stunna's signature ad campaign almost exactly.

The good thing is that if he does payout for the first month, Stunna would probably increase his price to overbid him.

That would be interesting. A lot of people are sure to switch over if he does pay out.

I continue to watch this thread
If the payouts get confirmed, I may consider swirching

Me too. Hope you guys get your coins.
19345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cryptocurrency Socialist Revolution? on: December 13, 2013, 11:30:39 AM
Well, I prefer the term Libertarian Socialist for a number of reasons. I'm not afraid of being labelled as an Anarchist, I'd just rather not fall victim to peoples' ignorance on the subject and because Socialism fits my specific beliefs better. It's easier to tell people with a fresh mind what Libertarian Socialism is rather than try convince them what Anarchism is not. Also, Anarchism is a broader more general term and has a bigger scope as well. It's like calling a dog a canine. Yes, a dog is a canine, but so are wolves and foxes, but they are all different.

You have a fair point my friend and I salute you!

I distrust any label anyway, for they lead to dogma and I prefer to deal in catma instead Smiley

Also I would like to point out to the OP, that in his thought experiment there remains the need for some sort of organization or authority to execute this plan. We're talking about one single entity controlling all the monetary wealth of the world (for some period of time). Good luck populating it with people of good will, who will resist the corrupting influence such a position of power brings with itself Wink

No, there would be no need for it to be centralized for the same reason that there is no reason to centralize Bitcoin. As long as the DNA readers couldn't be hacked or messed with to cheat the system there would be no need for there to be any central authority. Just like Bitcoin a program is created and released. A user connects to the internet with a DNA reader connected to his computer, the reader uploads his unique DNA signature to the Blockchain, a digital wallet is created with 1000 DNAcoins and the user is shown the password to their wallet. The DNA uploading and transactions are processed by mining.

Conspiracy theorists would have a field day with this DNA databank idea Cheesy. I think if bitcoin does become truly mainstream, some sort of fingerprint scanner app would be a good idea before you can send/spend coins.
19346  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drone Air strike kills 15 civilians (on their way to a wedding) in Yemen on: December 13, 2013, 11:25:33 AM
Rest in peace for that people, that were a big mistake, but what can we do now? We can only pray for them.

You can protest. People just shrugging their shoulders and saying "shit happens" or offering merely prayers aren't going to change anything. Stuff like this only happens because not enough people are outraged or even vaguely bothered by it. One pair of hands working or even one voice protesting can do more than millions of people just offering prayers. We hold the power to change things, not corrupt governments. Stop paying their wages for a start and see how long they work for free.

I see the future.. SR 2.0, 3.0, 4.5...etc DPR 2.0, 3.0, 4.0... it will never end.

This is true. The new DPR even claimed that if the site is ever taken down it'll be back up an running quickly, although obviously only time will tell on this. Hopefully these black market sites will force governments to consider legalisation and regulation. The war on drugs is futile and everybody with a gram of sense knows it.

http://www.coinchoose.com/charts.php looks like quark is getting a very high mining rate

The block reward will drop form 16 to 1 in less then one month.
Then lets see how they will protect their chain.

I'm looking forward to all the newbs weeping like widows when they can't understand why they're not quark millionaires haha.

A smart trader never invests all of his money in one single item. Go for 50% Quark, and rest for others.

May I ask where you heard this rumor?

Probably on this forum.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/12/12/us-yemen-strike-idUSBRE9BB10O20131212

(Reuters) - Fifteen people on their way to a wedding in Yemen were killed in an air strike after their party was mistaken for an al Qaeda convoy, local security officials said on Thursday.

Yet when a Muslim "terrorist" blows up a few Americans the entire country has a shitfit.

This isn't the first wedding party they've obliterated either: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wech_Baghtu_wedding_party_airstrike

19352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should I use Bitcoin instead of Paypal? on: December 12, 2013, 09:26:08 PM
Funny how everybody was saying PP is evil , PP is the root of all problems.
Then an interview appeared with David Marcus.
The whole board turned: Paypal is adopting bitcoin!  Yeah!!! To the moon!

This is both funny and sad to watch.

As much as I dislike paypal and its polices, if PP accepted Bitcoins it would be great for Bitcoin in general.
19353  Other / Off-topic / Re: Silkroad 2.0 on: December 12, 2013, 08:38:54 PM
There was a definitely a guy who turned the whole operation over to him, to Ross Ulbricht.  Nothing is known about him really, only that he became wealthy very quickly and allowed Ulbricht to inherit the mantle of DPR, with all the risks it carries.  His writing style is much different from Ross'.  There's a pretty stark contrast in the writing styles of DPR when SR debuted and the DPR who started doing the announcements/site addresses a little over a year later, maybe 12-16 months later.  The first DPR conveyed a more thoughtful, philosophical, even a somewhat a more pacifist way of explaining SR's purpose and continued existence in the face of constant persecution.  He conveyed the characteristics of martyrdom to the cause without explicitly stating as much. Ross Ulbricht a DPR wasn't very subtle with the way he wrote, he was flashy and was constantly talking shit about other markets, about how SR was superior etc. This has been documented to some extend in the SR forums.  I haven't looked there recently for any updates, but I'd imagine there's been some developments since I checked it out last.   Does Ross know who DPR #1 is? It's hard to say.  If he does it'll come out during trial but he may have never even met this guy in person.

I don't think the original DPR has come out of retirement though.  I've paid attention to all the site addresses and announcements so far and the guy is not eloquent with the way he writes at all.  He seems a little stupid to me, his grammar sometimes isn't on point, it's really weird.  Sometimes what he writes sounds somewhat normal.  It seems like a third-party running the place to me, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

The change or writing styles could be on purpose though to fool authorities. When DPR was caught he had a Stylometry site bookmarked:

19354  Economy / Services / Re: Forum Posters Needed on: December 12, 2013, 08:25:45 PM
Starting to wonder how legitimate this offer really is since the OP hasn't replied in a couple of days.  No feedback usually means something is up if you ask me.  If anyone hears anything post it up so others can no the deal with this offer. thx

Most of these are scams just to get hits/activity. Very rare somebody pays out, that's why it's best to get the money out into a reputable escrow. Wouldn't waste my time otherwise.
19355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will I be able to use Bitcoins at the mall in 2014??? on: December 12, 2013, 08:18:16 PM
I hope we get some Bitcoin ATM machines here in the uk next year. That would really help promotion and legitimise it with the public.

I want to see an altcoin atm if that were to happen then everyone would realize how real this all is and more people would feel like they could establish their own bitcoin brands

Yeah, as long as we don't get sexcoin and bbqcoin ones Cheesy.
