1941  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin Ban Means India Will Get More Corrupt Under Modi — Tim Draper on: November 11, 2019, 03:30:07 PM
Tell Modi that Bitcoin came out of a Cow. He will accept it. Or give lecture in some temple that Cow milk contains hashes of Blockchain data. People will drink that up like tea..
Sad thing.. our India may be free our mindset are not..
Much funny, enjoy the member rank  Wink

Banking ban is still in force mate! So in a way, bitcoin or another crypto trading is banned in India! But does that mean, people have stopped using that? Not at all, p2p tradings are ongoing in full force and people are making good amount of profit from it. So alternative method is already there! In the meantime, Indian government is loosing on taxes and job opportunities big time!

No legality can stop bitcoin and its trading. If method A is banned, people will be using method B! There's always a contingency plan available in the world of blockchain!
I don't think it's anymore the same now, as it was. If you are not having co-operation from banks, it's very much tough to get p2p trading for bigger amounts of exchange. In fact, it's not possible in most of the cases. With Bank, we could have it more easier.
I'm not exchanging much though, looking towards the future- an India with a lot of Bitcoin ATM in all of its Region. All the shops accepting BTC with LN networks. Well, we will have it.
1942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is diversification into different coins really a good advice for Newbies? on: November 11, 2019, 03:14:33 PM
Diversification only works when you are diverting into a negative co-related investments. For stock investments, some projects may have good time in December while some others may have bad time in December. It makes sense if you are investing both of the above conditions. Negative co-related portfolio don't give much profit but these are very effective when someone wants to leverage the risk to investment.

In cryptocurrency, as like bitmover said, all the coins are positively related. If BTC price increases, altcoin increases too, if BTC price decreases, altcoin price decreases as well. So, diversifying in cryptocurrency makes no sense.

In most cases, diversification mostly refer changing the nature of investment, changing the industry.
1943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: November 11, 2019, 01:49:59 PM
I didn't had much hope from Afghan batting when they were struggling at 118/5 but it seems to me they made a good comeback, thanks to Nabi who stood strong and gave good support to Asghar Afghan.
I was checking the scores for a while but after 5 wickets, I didn't check even. Had placed a bet for WI to win but seems like they are gonna mess up and lose the match. It's 41/2 after 15 overs, RR is almost 6 now. Well, if Afghan can get some more quick wickets, they can get the match in their hand. WI is far away from win here.

And just before that I placed a bet for WI at an odd of 1.35 or something LOL.

I was bored and nothing much to do so I thought to get some excitements. The target is 250 which is not something that can not be achieved. I hope WI will make it and keep the winning continued.
Usually, I don't prefer to bet any of the match of- Pakistan, WI because their performance is very much volatile, in fact, more volatile than Bitcoin price. It's very risky to bet on. WI can win a match which is impossible, while Pakistan can loss a match which is so easy to win.
1944  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there something you can do if someone scams you? on: November 11, 2019, 01:15:10 PM
It would be not possible to trace the scammer since bitcoin is decentralized and the information of the sender and receiver is anonymous and cannot be traced.
This is not true. Bitcoin is not anonymous, instead, it's pseudonymous. Moreover, bitcoin blockchain is transparent and available to public. You can trace where the transaction is going, from where he is receiving fund as well as his previous records of transaction. It's very much easy to trace, even more easy to trace than fiat money in my opinion.
You have to spend some times behind the scammer, most likely today or tomorrow he will leave a footprint from where you can get his identity- if the address receive a transaction from an exchange or if he ever execute a transaction to an exchange etc. By this way, you can trace anyone in bitcoin blockchain. Well, it's time consuming and you have to wait for the scammer to make a mistake and leave a footprint anywhere between his transaction. Depending on the amount of being scammed, the victim may try to have a regular update of the scammer movement. For a lower amount, it certainly doesn't worth the time you have to spend.
1945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 Years Bitcoin (Honor for satoshi nakamoto) on: November 11, 2019, 08:43:39 AM
Not long after BITCOIN became large, he suddenly deleted his wallet. From this we can capture, that he is aware of what will happen if he is published in the real world. Only a fool can express himself SATOSHI NAKAMOTO. The creator is not a fool, he cannot delete his wallet without a reason.
Which wallet you are talking about, his bitcoin wallet? Where did you get the information that he deleted his wallet? Since, you have written such a long article, I guess you have good understanding on these.
Everything is speculation that Satoshi have almost 1 million BTC- there's no prove though. There is only one known BTC address of Satoshi- the genesis. Others are speculation only.
We don't know if he has the private key of the addresses or not, in fact no one other than Satoshi himself can tell if he has the private key or all the BTC is lost.

I tried email him and my email returned, yeah make sense.
Hacked or he closed by own?
Most mail services close email which have been inactive for a long time. His email was either compromised or due to inactivity, someone has re-registered his email.

@Hhampuz

Question, regarding campaign spreadsheet. Why are you putting comma at the end of our bitcoin address? I guess it is not a mistake since we all have it but it looks a bit out of place.
It's not a mistake. It's for sending payments to many. When you want to send payments to many users- you gotta follow the below format-
Address1, amount
Address2, amount
etc.

Sorry Hhampuz for the off topic reply here.
Edit-
Just join the channel and send me a dm there with your name on bitcointalk and I'll add you to this room Smiley.
Have sent you a DM there.
1948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Mutual betting pool] India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I on: November 10, 2019, 01:27:14 PM
Total Pool Balance- 0.0037
India- 0.0019
Bangladesh- 0.0018

India (1.95) : Bangladesh (2.06)
Interesting, this is now a good standing for the pool participants. Previous odd was very low for Bangladesh. Now that 3 more participants have joined, differences have been decreased. It's more fair now for Royse and Little Mouse.

1949  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Visual Presentation - Input, Output, Coin Control & Change address on: November 10, 2019, 01:10:11 PM
In electrum, as example, change addresses are in the bottom of the address list and are categorized as "change addresses".
You can also use your input address (where you have the BTC) as change address in Electrum. In some other wallet, change address can be modified into any of your address.
Quote
- Not all the wallets give users the feature of "Coin Control" , so it would be complicated "useless" for noobs to look for. But, it's important  , imo , to understand that the "Coin Controle" is technically possible.
I haven't used much wallets, as far as I know, all software wallets for PC have this option.

I agree with coupable
It is much easier to understand using any blockexplorer. For example look here. One transaction with one input  generating 2 outputs
Using the block explorer, it's easy to understand the output, but the inputs are actually hidden here, I tried to explain how inputs are originated by showing the output from previous transaction(Bob's output).
I wanted to show something like this- https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tree/2893660

Additional would probably explain what Coin control and Change address is and what they are used for?
I guess I have shared explanation on both of these terms, in a simple way in the 2nd part.
1950  Other / Beginners & Help / Visual Presentation - Input, Output, Coin Control & Change address on: November 10, 2019, 08:14:51 AM
This terms are very much known if you are using bitcoin in your daily life or you are playing a little with bitcoin. These are not much important if you are an end user who only spending bitcoin for daily life but if you are a bit interested how things going on- you must have those knowledge.

In the above image, imagine, you have received total of 1 BTC from Bob. Bob once sent you 0.30 BTC and later sent 0.7 BTC. Now, you want to send 0.4 BTC to one of your friend, from where you are taking the BTC? Bob's output, isn't it? So, Bob's output is your input when you are sending 0.4 BTC to your friend. Here, we have used the both of Bob's Output.

Input- Bob's Output = From where the BTC came from.
Output- Where BTC is heading to.
If you have a closer look at the above image, it will be clear to you.

In the above image, you have 1 BTC which Bob has sent to you. Now, you want to send 0.4 BTC to your friend. If you want, you can use one of the output of Bob- 0.7 BTC and this can be done through coin control, so, coin control is giving us the power to which output of Bob we want to spend. Now, since you will send 0.4 BTC from 0.7 BTC, you have some changes, right? Because you can't deduct 0.4 BTC from your 0.7 BTC input. Imagine, you have one single note of $70. You have purchased something worth of $40, now the shopkeeper will give you a change of $30.
In this case, you are telling like- I am giving 0.70 BTC, from where 0.40 BTC will be sent to my friend and the rest will be sent to my address (This address is your change address.)

I guess I have not done any mistake or used any misconception, If I have used, you can correct me. I always try to write something in a very easy way so that, a very newbie can learn something from my article.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Mutual betting pool] India vs Bangladesh 3rd T20I on: November 09, 2019, 09:31:29 AM
Anyway, point is let's see how many more we get in the pool knowing that if India wins then they will get a good amount of winning :-D
The odd seems to be huge for Bangladesh. If I am not mistaken, you have added 0.0015 BTC in the pool (too lazy to check  Cheesy), not bad. The amount must be higher for India, I mean it must be odd base. Otherwise, if anyone else don't participate, you are risking too much to get a lower piece. I know this bet is for fun only but, you know it must have some equality regarding all the strengths.
Anyway, if it was not you, in fact no one else, I would be betting for Bangladesh. The last one was not of any enjoy/excitement at all.

Bangladesh (1.60) : India (2.65)  Shocked

Why is everyone keep teasing Little Mouse? :-P
Did I  Roll Eyes he promised last match to participate, missed. Seems like he will miss this time as well.

Please confirm if you want to use the same for this pool. Unless you confirm I can not add it yet.
Since the minimum is 0.0001, it's okay. I want to use the same for the pool. Please confirm it as it is.
1952  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Missing receiving address in my bitcoin wallet on: November 09, 2019, 09:16:43 AM
If I understand the blockchain correct, the payment is sent to address : 3Ksti3jfX7Vb6FUZW4mWZbazyFcAeyjkCy   and that address isn't my address. Actually, I didn't see the payment in my wallet at all.
You have sent the address through email? Right? Now check the email if you have sent this address or not. If you have sent this one (which isn't own by you), then you have been infected with copy/paste malware which have changed your actual address into this one.
Or, if you have sent a correct address which is from your wallet, there's two possible case may happen-
1. The sender device have been infected with copy/paste malware.
2. The sender intentionally sent on his address. (which is unlikely since you had some previous deals).

Check your mail and confirm if it's the mistake from your side.

I think Watford's gonna be wanting it more and Norwich has been fading lately (but don't make your pick on my account.  Lol).
I am going with Watford to win- from the love of BTC to be honest.
I guess, for WFC, it's the best time to pick their 1st win. Odd is 2.6 for Watford in Sportsbet, not bad either. There's a big one of 16 if no goals, worth trying?  Cheesy

expecting both teams to score and that is the best option you can pick in this match and Watford has never won a game till now
1.55 on sportsbet, doesn't worth in my opinion. Don't know about other bookies though.
1956  Economy / Gambling / Re: DeFight.io - Decentralized Sportsbook - Create, Promote, Get Paid. - No KYC! on: November 08, 2019, 05:51:37 PM
Interesting, something new? I never have seen such betting platform. Good luck.

What exactly does decentralised means? Your platform is being controlled by you. Which means it is a centralized sports book.
You can create any event, imagine a match going on between Real Madrid vs Barcelona. You can create an event like Real Madrid to score 3 or Benzema to get a hat-trick (not possible though  Cheesy) etc and when players bet on your event, you can get money from the bookie. This is really a great idea. I will wait for some feedback and later give it a try.
1957  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: November 08, 2019, 07:00:31 AM
LN will never be solution, Satoshi said that onchain transactions will support miners in the future, with LN there is no fees for the real miners that support blockchain, with time the fee of one ON-CHAIN transaction will be huge.

LN still need on-chain transaction to open and close channel
As long as I am not closing a channel, I can settle any transaction. Won't it reduce the on-chain transaction heavily? Which is good in some case though but still cfbtcman question is there.

Well, I am a newbie in LN, not much old in Bitcoin as well.

For me, until now, LN is-

Here- Bob (X) is a client who used to shop with BTC. Since the fee is high, he is looking for alternative way, hence he got LN.
He knows if he creates a channel with Y(Route?)- who already have channel with a lot of Bob's favorite shop, he can settle a lot of payments in most of the shops he is used to go daily.

I am trying to learn it from the perspective of a client of a lot of shops so that I can pay micro payments with bitcoin.
Please correct my above statement, for last 3/4 days, I am spending a lot of time into LN. Have read some parts of the whitepaper here- https://lightning.network/lightning-network-paper.pdf

1958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Mutual betting pool] India vs Bangladesh 2nd T20I on: November 08, 2019, 05:56:27 AM
@RapTarX @Haunebu should i send fund to you guys or you both are interested in 3rd game (Series decider match) also, who knows @Little mouse might change his mind......

Please confirm..
Please keep the fund for the next match. I am once again betting for India. If no one bet for Bangladesh, I will be, lol. It makes no sense if no opposition is there although I think Little Mouse will bet on the next match.

ENG vs NZ is a close game and it will be fun.
I wouldn't bet on any of them either  Wink
1959  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Missing receiving address in my bitcoin wallet on: November 07, 2019, 04:21:56 PM
Locate your wallet files (usually they are in /<user>/appdata/roaming/electrum/wallets/) and back them up on a clean thumb drive.
This is one of the way you can update.
Unless you have something important on the wallet like an labels of addresses, you can just store the seed key and uninstall the electrum and download it as DireWolfM14 showed. Then, instead of creating new seed, restore this one. This is more simple however, if your metadata is important, then back up of the wallet file is mandatory.
1960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 07, 2019, 04:14:43 PM
Rohit is on fire. I thought to place a bet but didn't  Undecided Unlucky me.
It's an easy win now.

Todays game looks like Bangladesh was missing something around the match. And yea It's the Tamim and Shakib. Lastly Bangladesh has been facing lack of experienced   batsman heavily.  The score should be 170-180. Then it would be fighting score Against India.
When you lose, you make complain. That's true for everyone. Bangladesh missed their batting consistency tonight to be honest. They were not able to play their-selves after losing wickets. No one was able to play a longer match and that's where they have lost the match. Otherwise, the score could be much higher.
