1941  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best signature campaign for "member" rank? on: August 10, 2014, 12:25:06 AM
Prime dice, since it is open for new participants, stable and one of the highest paying campaigns.

This is really the only option if you are not already signed up. They are very stable and have been running for a very long time.

Yeah exactly. I think it would be really sad if they stopped accepting new members. Being at PrimeDice is a great way of receiving some BTC on the side. And I think everyone should have the possibility of doing that. It would be a shame if they closed their campaign to new users!

250+ participants in the Prime Dice campaign as of July. I think somewhere down the line, it will become too big to manage. Smiley
1942  Local / Press & News from India / Re: [2014-08-08] Moneylife: Can Bitcoins Remain Unregulated? on: August 10, 2014, 12:22:50 AM
The author is probably commenting on this portion of the press release.

The Reserve Bank of India has today cautioned the users, holders and traders of Virtual currencies (VCs), including Bitcoins, about the potential financial, operational, legal, customer protection and security related risks that they are exposing themselves to.
1943  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there room for a State Run Cryptocurrency? on: August 10, 2014, 12:20:07 AM
Well, let's just hope that some internationally recognized state will finally make one day Bitcoin its legal tender in the strictest sense of the word (that is a means of payment for "all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues").

Yes, Instead of 'dollarizing' a country, let us hope they 'bitcoinize' it.  Smiley
1944  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: August 10, 2014, 12:16:04 AM
no body in the world can makes dollar collaps all country real money its dollar and gold .
not will effect anything .
Wtf is this...

Yeah, if you live in the United States, and are using the USD as your main currency, or are on welfare/foodstamps/whatever, the dollar collapsing would be a massive and shock to the populace, as the value with plummet, prices would go up, and most of the world economy would be screwed.

China has gold, US has little. Fort Nox isn't loaded like it once was, it's pretty empty now.

"Real" money, according to your government, is the paper money. Gold has no place as real money, according to gov'ts. It's just a means of taxation and storing value.

The dollar collapsing will affect everything, especially people with a minimal education.

Spelling will be a valued trait in the future, especially in America. Judging by the education system, it will continue to be valuable for many years.

The dollar collapsing will force the US to correct its trade deficit.
In the long run, that is probably good for the world. Cheesy
1945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARGENTINA COULD BE THE 1ST COUNTRY USING BITCOIN AS OFFICIAL CURRENCY on: August 10, 2014, 12:14:27 AM
governments dont use gold as a currency because if they try gold price will raise too much.

That is true. Anything whose supply is finite is deflationary in nature (vs other goods). So governments would be uncomfortable using it as currency.
That is why the gold-backed Bretton Woods system failed.
1946  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If reusing addresses is a bad idea then why... on: August 10, 2014, 12:11:05 AM
Scenario 1: I have 2 deposits in a single address, which I combine together and use for a single payment.
Scenario 2: I have 2 deposits in 2 different addresses. I combine them and use them for a single payment (one single transaction).

Aren't these 2 scenarios the same from a privacy point of view? Although I have used 2 different addresses in scenario 2, isn't the single transaction proof that I control both addresses?
1947  Local / Alt Coins (India) / Re: KASHMIRCOIN (Rare, 1001 coins max) on: August 09, 2014, 04:23:29 PM
you are telling me it was 3.7 btc per kashmircoin ?
really :O

Not sure. The original referenced link doesn't work now.
But price seems to have been low for quite some time now.
1948  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: is bitcoin treasure hunt legal ? on: August 09, 2014, 12:14:49 PM
Hello Everyone,

I want to know if someone knows if hiding bitcoin as a treasure hunt is legal ?
If the entry is free ? If the entry has a fee ?
At what point we can consider this as gambling ?

Thanks !

Forget the point about the bitcoin treasure.
Think of it as a treasure hunt with 'some' treasure.
You will have your answers.
1949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why We Need All The Altcoins We Can Get on: August 09, 2014, 12:08:37 PM
I do not think we need 452 different coins, whats the point?  Is this just for miners to try to get rich? I dont get the point, I mean Bitcoin can supply the world , the more people use it the more it will increase meaning that you eventually you would not even need a full coin, in fact in future if you have 1 full coin your probably considered wealthy, As time goes the average amount that people have in their wallets will drop as the price rises, 100,000 mBTC  next year 50,000 mBTC year after 20,000 mBTC so and so on, Untill we may eventually need to create more decimals.

We really dont need so many currencies that do the exact same thing. I just do not see the point, I think the more crap there is around the more people think this is all a joke.

It is just experiments. Even if there is one truly innovative coin, it will catch on.
And probably even the bitcoin community might think of implementing its innovative features.

Now KashmirCoin trades on Bittrex (last price = 3.7 BTC): https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-KSC

The last traded price now seems to be 0.03 BTC.  Grin

Its suicidal imo, when you cant even withdraw btc easily from ATMs, but why not? argentina is already done for.

Jersey (an autonomous island of the UK and a well established “tax haven”) is seriously considering Bitcoin adoption in the nearest future.

Quote
The island has recently announced that it will become home to the first ever regulated Bitcoin fund, Global Advisors Bitcoin Investment Fund (GABI), as of August 1st. The fund has been certified by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and means that traditional investments types such as pensions can now be invested in Bitcoin and secured by the same security features in commonly used financial products

Quote
Senator Philip Ozouf, the Treasury Minister for Jersey, sees this opportunity very clearly and wants the island to pursue the innovation: “Our infrastructure of world-class financial services and digital expertise gives us the tools to be an early leader in the field. Innovation will be central to Jersey’s future prosperity. We are keen to support local businesses by helping to create a well-regulated and responsive environment for investment in the sector”.

Bali could already be getting there.
Jersey will have some catching up to do.

1953  Economy / Economics / Re: --- You Are Not Late --- on: August 09, 2014, 11:51:00 AM
Nice article. Imo we are also considered as early adopters of bitcoin because the concept itself isn't widely accepted YET. We might envy those 2009 bitcoiners who hodl up until bitcoin reached its ath but the next adopters of bitcoin (say, 2016 or 2017 bitcoiners) will also envy us because we made the right move to still join the train up to the moon earlier than they did. We may not see profit that fast compared to the early adopters but we can still see profit coming our way as time pass and more and more people adopt bitcoin. Cheesy

I am hoping even the 2015 adopters envy us.  Grin
1954  Economy / Services / Re: [DiceBitco.in] [Make the most out of your sig!] Make coins by simply posting! on: August 09, 2014, 11:41:55 AM
actually I know something and I have to get to member status first before I say it.  If I cant be member here then I might have to wait

Interesting. All you have to do is make 11 more posts and wait for maximum half an hour.
You will turn into a member.  Grin
And then you can reveal it to us.
1955  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: August 09, 2014, 11:37:24 AM

Some time in next few months we will see new highs next bubble is late already

That I agree. Bitcoin has been stable for too long. It's been a long time since the last crash.
1956  Economy / Economics / Re: UK 10yr plan for BTC on: August 09, 2014, 11:36:26 AM
Do all governments think regulation is their primary job? Cheesy
The bitcoin economy seems to have developed pretty well without (or because of) the government not intervening.

Gov regulation will happen, the mainstream wont use bitcoin without it so as long as its "reasonable" regulation we all get rich and have extra resources to create bitcoin 2.0 to move the goal posts further.

The Government is trying to force-fit bitcoin into parameters they are comfortable with. That is the problem.
They should approach regulation with an open mind.
1957  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Invest bitcoins? on: August 09, 2014, 11:34:30 AM
I think trading and making profit on the price movements or using arbitrage is the best investment.

you are right trading is a best way to earn money ! but you should know about market how rates are fluctuating in the market . you also need to take patience and have to control your greedy ness if you are greedy and wants to earn big profit in a single day or in single minute you will surely loose your money in trading . first study market and then start trading and you also need to choose a right platform which is stable here for the long term .

@hyipworld - Let us know if btclegacy returns your money after 5-6 days, or it is yet another scam.
1958  Economy / Economics / Re: Dollar coming to an end on: August 09, 2014, 11:31:34 AM
It's not going to be an easy 20 years and it will become increasingly difficult as time goes on...

The death of the dollar is would only bad for the USA if it weren't for the fact that many other world powers have adopted the same nonsense. World economies are bound by a form of "natural selection" where the strong survive and the weak perish...

Fiat is like a plague, and the powers of the world voluntarily infected themselves. Now it's up to nature to do what nature does...

Yes, the other world powers have adopted it. Once a barrel of oil stops being denominated in USD, I guess you could say the dollar's hegemony is over.
1959  Economy / Economics / Re: --- You Are Not Late --- on: August 09, 2014, 02:03:40 AM
The article tells the truth, we are all still early adopters and in the future most of the people would have wanted to be like us.

What it tell us is that there are always fields in which you can be early adopters.  Smiley
1960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crossed 500 USD - Bull Market returns ? on: August 09, 2014, 02:01:05 AM
didnt expect price will go up from 570, was thinking it will go down a little more... Smiley nice

I wonder when it is going to touch 1000 USD again. Here is an interesting Stat...

A statistical explanation why 1BTC may equal 1M USD in future...

Value of 1BTC (around figure)

2009 => 10-2 USD
2010 => 10-1 USD
2011 => 100 USD
2012 => 101 USD
2013 => 102 USD
2014 => 103 USD
2015 => 104 USD
2016 => 105 USD
2017 => 106 USD

--- Early Adoption Ends Here and The Price Stabilizes ---

Many people are holding because of your expectation. They will become impatient as the end of year approaches, and if we don't see a $1000 recover, they will just dump their coins and we may see another dip

I hope that happens. Another buying opportunity. Smiley
