1941  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of my big losses (Gamble Responsibly) on: March 15, 2023, 05:57:27 AM
It's funny how gamble responsibly could mean differently from one gambler to another. That is like saying gamble what you can afford to lose, and you, OP, is betting as high as $20,000. Of course, you can afford to lose that. To somebody else, or perhaps to most of us here, that is already a life-changing amount we wouldn't just risk on a wager.

Anyway, I'm just saying that what gamblers can afford to lose widely differs. It could be $1. It could be $10 or $100 or $1,000. Or it could be $20,000. The point is that the money that a gambler should bet is an extra.

How I wish I could gamble like you, OP!

He won 400K which makes 20k a bit of a tiny extra amount for him. But if the small timers see his picks to be a real deal, they small timers will bet thier bottom dollar for his tips. You'd be amazed how words can be open to interpretation for people desperate to win big.

I can only see big amounts on the poker cup tournament where people easily just throw 50K and then fold. The extra money for some gamblers is like the entire savings of some people.
1942  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there anything like Bitcoin savings? on: March 15, 2023, 05:44:57 AM

When you send money to a bank, then that money is theirs already not yours. It's the same as sending BTC to a centralized exchange.
If you haven't heard already, banks are already started running and FDIC is out of money. Once the depositors will together want thier money out of the banks, they would have no cash to give.

But maybe they will give you digital cash which is already the CBDC.
1943  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this what awaits us? on: March 14, 2023, 09:45:22 PM

I have to admit part of me saying YES!

But it would be too good to be true.  It's good to be a BTC holder in our time. It is however going to be a mess when something happens in the future back when gold was the most valued asset and then government suddenly bans it and confiscates gold from the people. Before this will happen then most probably the government also will try to confiscate BTC from us.
1944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you Think might aid the global adoption of Bitcoin? on: March 14, 2023, 07:54:01 PM

I don't think BTC in El Salvador failed. If it worked in Nigeria, it will work in smaller countries like El Salvador. USD was also forced on this country and they have no choice but with BTC, they already have a choice. After learning that IMF hates Bukele for adopting BTC, we are already aware that there will be news that will paint Bukele as to fail but he did pay off the country's debt to IMF.

What might trigger global BTC adoption is the bank failures that had happened recently with Silvergate, SVB, and Signature bank. When people couldn't get their money back from the bank they deposit, depositors will not trust banks.
1945  Economy / Speculation / Re: 26k mark finally breached on: March 14, 2023, 07:43:45 PM
I can't still believe we are heading to 30k after long stagnation between 19k to 25k, possibly this month will be a very favorable month for bitcoin to leave the level of 25k. Nevertheless let just keep our crossed to watch over the market because most at times it's very hard to determine the price movement, this might likely be a bear trap so as trader you need to very smart and watchful while trading.
$26k was expected to be broken during 2023 but now it has. Even higher prices are predicted before the end of the year, eg $30k - $40k is possible, but we can expect a correction to find new support.

I'm even expecting $30k to be broken in April as I'm not sure March will ever hit that. But of course today's fantastic increase has made my day more enjoyable after in the previous week it was in a sharp decline. Yes, let's hope that $ 25k can survive this March, even though now bitcoin is corrected to $ 24.7k. Yes, let's hope that $ 25k can survive this March, even though now bitcoin is corrected to $ 24.8k.

Of all the fud that has surfaced in the media, it felt like $30k in Q1 of 2023 is too early but it seems we are going that way. I don't wanna keep my hopes too high.

But if the price will climb a little further to $30k soon and then it's really a healthy market to accumulate some BTC if experimentation just works. Sometimes the market just climbs very fast leaving those who are hoping to make some traders losing more sats instead.

1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when people tells their story on bitcoin on: March 14, 2023, 07:31:58 PM

Sure I also feel very envious of them especially the OGs in Bitcoin who have held thier BTC to this day. It must be very cool to have thousands of these BTC. It's a lot envious when you have already heard BTC back in 2010, has read of them, and yet ignored it.

It encourages me though when people say the ones who learned bTC today are still not late because we are still in the early phase. Well, maybe it's true for people looking for GEMS.
1947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will altcoins thrive in the shadow of Bitcoin ? on: March 13, 2023, 08:01:20 PM

Despite how SEC will classify the altcoins, I don't think they can decouple the altcoins such as ETH and BNB to BTC. A lot of altcoins will still react the same way as they are all denominated by BTC on exchanges. They will thrive in the market and are more than likely to surpass the ATH also during the bull run.

But they will not replace BTC on top. We're aware that institutions are even just interested in BTC and nothing else.

1948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A costly gambling mistake on: March 13, 2023, 06:04:51 PM
We are so used to all these rules though which they all have the same rules. Same as what happened when exchanges are yet not asking for KYC, we move from one exchange to another but sometimes there could be differences between the rule of one platform to another.

It's like shooting first before asking questions. Signing up to a casino all because of bonuses and little did they know they can't withdraw lol
That's one costly mistake.

I wonder how OP can describe what "Costly" mean?
1949  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading what was your experience on: March 13, 2023, 05:48:46 PM
He must be a skilled one that he can trade even when drunk. I wouldn't try it in futures.
Everything though is just going to depend on how much money he has and whether can he accept it if he loses his position.

There are people who are paying more attention to details when high on weed or drunk. They become geniuses instead. I personally know someone who does things in a very careful way particularly when he cooks while high on weed.
1950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of my big losses (Gamble Responsibly) on: March 13, 2023, 05:06:01 PM

Threads are getting pages and pages because the of discussions of picks though. Every sport and match is asked looking in hopes of tips from fellow gamblers. $20,000 is quite a confident bet.

How often do you win will be the next question because if the rate is still worth it, those users who sent you PM still have the hope to take the risk of your picks.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Street Gambling Risk on: March 13, 2023, 04:35:33 PM
Is street gambling safe?

I mean, totally! Especially if we are talking about the streets and you include gambling in it, certainly those two words when put together will result into a not desirable outcome because there is no authority to protect the gamblers and no moderator to keep the gambling fair and square. It's just a risky gambling for everybody who are in that place.

The same thing will happen even if you know most of the people there because there is always that one man or one group that will always doubt the outcome of especially if they are on the losing side or had a lose streak and suddenly they got that feeling that they are tricked. Safe to say that a fight will suddenly break out in no time.

Or someone outside just keeps an eye on who is winning and will just ambush you when you go home. At gunpoint, you will really be handing out whatever you have, you'd be lucky if they leave you alive.

The kind of neighborhood matters so it would be best if you just gamble on streets where you know everyone in there and you are comfortable drinking beer with those guys dealing cards.

1952  Economy / Speculation / Re: Experience about trading in btc on: March 13, 2023, 04:12:36 PM
That's risking the roof over your head for your future money. The decision is all up to how confident you are in investing in BTC. It's a huge sacrifice but it just going to make you homeless. That's something you are to be ready for.

If it's just me with no wife and kids, I would be sleeping soundly at night no matter where I sleep as long as I hold some amount of BTC.  Grin
1953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have failed too severely, time to give up? on: March 12, 2023, 05:52:05 PM
Just accept fiat then. It shouldn't be a problem since you can use the money to buy BTC which I think is also your goal. Say you accept cash deposits to a platform where you can easily access to buy BTC.

You are a cocoa producer, you can try promoting BTC but eventually, people will adopt BTC or crypto, banks will do it for you as they are collapsing.
1954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of project we shall look into to prepare for the next bull?? on: March 12, 2023, 04:50:35 PM

The top 20 on CMC will be good after all bull run means all altcoins can go higher than their previous ATH. All you need to do now is just invest in those altcoins.  But some people will just buy BTC and hold it, it's the surest way to see a profit, and at the same time, BTC is accepted in different stores.

There are some altcoins by the way that may not hit the ATH such as the XRP. Speaking of experience here.
1955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Silvergate - exposure - USDC ? on: March 12, 2023, 04:37:51 PM
Well.... it wasn't Silvergate thought!

Yes, I thought they also has exposure to Silvergate, but besides SVB becoming the cause, Silvergate is winding down. According to their latest update on the whole current issue, they had been taken off any reserves from Silvergate right before its closure.

USDC has zero exposure to Silvergate; we had transferred out what were limited reserves to support transaction settlement with USDC prior to bank closure.

Back to SVB, another point worth taking is their assurance:

Quote
However, it is also possible that SVB may not return 100% and that any return might take some time, as the FDIC issues IOUs (i.e., receivership certificates) and advanced dividends to deposit holders.

In such a case, Circle, as required by law under stored-value money transmission regulation, will stand behind USDC and cover any shortfall using corporate resources, involving external capital if necessary.

In regard to their other reserves, they further down reduce their position on bank risks. Anyway let's see how it will go through on Monday, as of now, it currently has risen to $0.98 per CMC data.

It's on the news just today that FDIC has taken over already and this could end that to a terrible loss because even if a person has over $10M in the bank, they will return only the insurance which is $250,000.

From what I have read was that this depeg issue was because of the unrealized loss. I got confused already with such a term. But that is exactly what I have read on some reliable sites.
1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Street Gambling Risk on: March 12, 2023, 04:21:49 PM
But which country is this?
I don't usually hear riot stories or news due to gambling disputes, maybe it's not on the news all the time but it could be true when one person's loss means skipping a meal. That would really be a very compromising situation.

Street gambling is very often in carnivals though. Somehow I don't see fights happening.
1957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 12, 2023, 04:07:52 PM
PPV and obviously the live gates where the money will come in, and they are guarantee to have millions already. So yes this could be one of the biggest fights for the year and who knows, could be fight of the year if both of them left their hands go and fight till they take each other's head.

And the hype is already there, all they have to do is create more drama in their face-off, which they did already and that's why the tickets have been sold already. Only contention is the PPV numbers I guess and there are a lot of speculations on how much they will get either in US or worldwide, but I think it will still be big numbers.

If they sell out the arena, they will undoubtedly make a lot of money in ticket sales. Just imagine the price of those tickets

Quote
How much do tickets for Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia cost?
Tickets for Davis vs. Garcia start at $729, per TicketSmarter.

Prices then range from $800, $900, $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, $4,000, $5,000, $6,000, $8,000, $10,000, and $11,731.
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/boxing/news/gervonta-davis-vs-ryan-garcia-ticket-prices-las-vegas/h7dvl5lqvkxbzhtjmjb334lo

Only true boxing fans would be interested in attending the fight in person. While the ticket prices may be expensive, there will undoubtedly be people willing to pay the price to witness these two great boxers face off in the ring.

It's already sold out so they say. It's not surprising because this fight had been hyped for awhile even when the dates are not finalized yet.
$729 might just be the people who will use the binoculars to watch the fight. I would rather not watch even if I am a fan of the two. Not gonna be worth it.

I am rooting for Ryan this time for 3x the profit with the small amount. I have some doubts because Tank may also hit KO Ryan.

1958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing bitcoin to local communities/villagers on: March 11, 2023, 06:04:46 PM
You would need a visual aid for these people to really understand just the basics of BTC. But trading might just be too complicated already.
Do these people even have access to the internet? By the looks of the photos, it looks like they live in a rural area. If this is however in the outskirts of Nigeria, it would make sense still as BTC is widely spread.

Kudos to your initiative though. Maybe it will work if you start first with the basics of BTC.
1959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoGPT on: March 11, 2023, 04:16:12 PM

Now that AIs are hyped. I can only say the project is riding the hype. The token is listed this month on several exchanges though, for about $0.04, and the price rise up since.

I tried using Alex, his answer is a lot shorter than the answer from OpenAi. Not a very detailed answer by the way so it's kind of an unfinished product right now but because there are many of them already competing in this niche. Maybe choosing just one will be better. You will just be scammed once if you just pick one.
1960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you into NASCAR bets on: March 11, 2023, 04:06:37 PM
Based on the reply above you can see NASCAR is on Stake.com. Way to go.
Formula 1 is listed on several crypto sports betting, MMA and also Volleyball. Almost all sports are listed so if the sports you are interested in are not in your local, go to online casinos.

I rarely see a person interested in MMA and then Volleyball at the same time but it appears you shill that BetUS.com yeah man right on.   Cheesy
