We are buying one Bitcoin every day starting tomorrow.

1942  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [Contest][ALT] Best portfolio 2022 on: November 16, 2022, 06:44:50 PM
I thought I could at best be #2 because of this, but I'm starting to think I may have the "best performing altcoin" in my selection Shocked I'm disappointed though, I wanted to lose this one, and I wanted Bitcoin to above all others.
I wonder if Gold or a stable coin pegged to Gold price would have beat your pick?

1944  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sanitize the Gambling Board. on: November 15, 2022, 06:31:08 PM
This could be an insult to the moderators such as teaching them what to do;they definitely know their jobs for years.

English is not the native language of many of us. I don't know how you understood this to be an insult to moderators.  I didn't say moderators are lazy, I said they may be tired. Which means tired of doing same thing everyday which is caused by our carelessness.
Yes those words from Yastan in a thread asking to sanitize the gambling section are weird. He shouldn't be disturbed by someone being concerned by the amount of spam here, if he likes this section and interesting discussions about gambling.
And he should read those words from the moderator if he's not aware they are tired of shitposters.

This would be useless and doesn't tackle the root of the problem. People would just lock the thread and then create a new one once it has hit the 1k pages and lost the signature. It would also be counter-productive on valuable threads that have only lost their signature because of some arbitrary limit. If a thread is useless of spammy then it should be locked or trashed or more importantly if people are being paid en masse to make low quality posts then those campaigns should be punished. I've been saying for years signature campaigns could actually help the quality of discussion if they only paid for good posts but if they're paying for any old shite then of course people will abuse it. Unless you tackle the root of the problem then you're just trying to plug holes on a sinking ship and people will just find a way around some restriction you put upon them.

Only blind people or people of bad faith won't see any problem with the amount of garbage posts because as I've already said in the Meta section, 4 to 5 moderators fully dedicated to the gambling sections are missing to cope with the current amount of spam IMO. A sub section without visible signatures could be an alternate solution though.

https://www.lefigaro.fr/flash-actu/le-negationniste-francais-vincent-reynouard-arrete-en-ecosse-20221113

1947  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: November 15, 2022, 10:32:59 AM
We’re in the gambling business, but we’d never gamble with our user’s funds.

Deposit, play and withdraw instantly. That’s what we stand for.

The events that have taken place the past week in the crypto space should serve as yet another reminder to take control of your crypto.

Are you referring to the email exploit at Stake.com or the bankrupt Exchange (FTX) ..#Stunna?

If I understand deposits at a casino correctly.... it goes into a casinos internal database and some of those funds goes into the casinos hot and cold wallets. (So users lose control over their coins/tokens... the moment when it is deposited into a casino or some other custodial service... right?)

I do not use centralized exchanges to store my coins, because I want to have sole access to my Private keys (giving me full control) ...but I relinquish that control, when I deposit it into a casino.

Even if you VAULT your coins/tokens... it can be accessed if you login details were phished. I would suggest that a second password be implemented for access to the VAULT ...so that you cannot lose all your coins ..in a single phishing attack.

I used 2FA to give me some protection .....but some skilled hacker, will soon combine these attacks ..with Sim swap techniques to bypass that too.  Huh
The vault feature shouldn't be considered as a real vault IMO, it's just a protection to avoid losing all your funds from a missclick/fat finger or because you've fleetingly lost the consciousness of the amounts you are gambling. And it's more easy to happen at an online casino because you don't play with concrete chips. But if the casino accuses you of money laundering, cheat, "abuse" or other BS things, or if they undergo a big hack, your funds won't be able to be withdrawn anymore even if they have been put in the vault. It's more a vault against yourself than a vault against robbers I would say. The only safe vault is the one you have the key of.

stake asks for proof of income for customer verification as i see from their verification page. are you people seriously providing it to a random casino?
Yes it's a shame. Fortunately decentralized casinos and sportsbooks are coming. And it will be hard for custodial casinos to compete with them if they still ask this kind of BS requirements (after deposits in addition).
1948  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sanitize the Gambling Board. on: November 14, 2022, 10:41:54 PM
Gambling board is a board that is highly dedicated to gambling. It is a board where people that are not gamblers cannot post because they won't understand the jargon of gambling. You need to be a real gambler to post here. This board is like bitcoin technical board where people that doesn't know bitcoin technical cannot post.

Can you define what a real gambler is? It's because gambling is very simple, no rules, just extreme luck and you just need money to play.

And you want us to discuss every time using jargon terms? Can you also list them?

If you feel like threads does not belong there, (just like any other topic), used the report button.

You don't need to be an "expert" in gambling just to be on that board.

I'm sorry to say that but this kind of answer is laughable. If you don't know what is (and what should be) a real gambling forum, just look at the Wizard of Vegas Forum for example. The 10% worst posts there are better than the 10% best posts here.
Everyone knows that people are posting here just because their signature campaign requires to do it or because they know their shitposts won't be spotted into the piles of spam. Most of real gamblers from Bitcointalk don't even try to post here anymore. And at least 2 topics on the matter have already been opened in the Meta section, even moderators are complaining about the amount of spam.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5419987
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5403475
Several members advise to always open threads in self-moderate mode here to prevent spam.

Just want to know if there is a notification when we receive a tournament prize? I participated in Crypto Crunch and saw my username on the list of participants
I don't remember exactly but I know $5 is my prize and I don't know whether it is credited or not because I still have a balance in my account
But when checking the notification I don't see anything and usually if I win I will get notification right?
Yes I got an email from cs@livecasino.io saying "Congratulations on your tournaments triumph! // Congratulations! Following your triumph in Crypto Crunch Tournament, you have won: The prize is waiting in your account." as usual.
You should maybe look into your spam box. But it also appears in the reward tab normally, as "Crypto Crunch Tournament - cash reward" https://livecasino.io/profile/rewards
You should ask what is going on to the customer support if you don't find it, your account is maybe restricted currently.

Sportsbets will offer some free prediction games, but also some interesting bonuses, tournaments and promotions IMO.
They will offer prizes for predicting right outcomes like they usually do for EPL and big competitions https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-world-championship-freetoplay-offer
But they will also offer 10% boosts on some slots and live casino games several times per day during matches and free chips if you place bets above $50 on some matchs https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-world-championship-casino-offer
In addition if you bet more than $100 on the World cup winner you will be able to get $25 of free chips for every match the backed team will win. https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-world-championship-outright-offer

the 15 matchday and thus the last before the long winter break could win this time someone from the lower table range - with 18 points Saint-loup could secure the 0.002BTC. congratulations from me and i have forwarded your name immediately. Smiley
with 5 points ahead Lemming is on the first position... all other participants/places are very close to each other
with this post i would also like to thank all participants for the first 15 rounds, it has been a lot of fun with you, one could also discuss with you here in the thread very well and i'm already looking forward to 20 january when it continues again with the 16 matchday Smiley🍻
general overview will follow...

Thank you for quoting me here Cygan, that's a very nice surprise for me  Smiley Because to be honest I was really thinking about giving up after missing almost the whole matchday one week ago (matchday 13). Well I still highly doubt it's feasible for me to reach the top 5 position within the 19 remaining matchdays but it gives me the motivation to go a little bit further at least. So I wish good luck to everyone, especially to my neighbors at the bottom of the board LOL. See you at the next matchday in January (2023).

I don't know what you call a regulator precisely but in my country, no authority tracks and flags citizen wallets, it would be illegal. Police can investigate when a crime has been committed thanks to crypto funds but can't say to anyone, this address is dirty we forbid you to receive funds that went through it one day. So I'm not afraid by that personally, but maybe in some authoritarian countries things are different.
Illegal? I am not sure where you live but if that's not some tax haven with loose regulations you might want to google FATF travel rule, so far 39 countries are part of it and AML laws have been only getting tougher every year.

Anyway I hope only a minority of people will have the same ideas as you and will be afraid by this kind of things, because it would be sad to conclude that decentralized platforms don't deserve to get the same success as less trustworthy ones.
AML laws are not my idea, i am just following public announcements on what coming so i can prepare better. And obviously they can't shut down fully decentralized casinos as long as they don't have any element of centralization. But i was merely talking about tracking the funds.
So far casinos seem to have way less regulations as they don't need an exchange license and i haven't yet seen any info on how FATF would deal with money coming trough fully decentralized casinos, but one doesn't need much imagination if you had read about the travel rule that most platforms have prepared for a long time now.
It would be interesting to open a thread about that matter because several decentralized casinos have posted an ANN here in the last days and you really seem to be concerned by this topic. I didn't see anyone else being so worried by that subject on their threads but you're maybe the only guy being relevant actually. Who knows? Anyway I confirm to you it's illegal in my country because like in any democracy you need a law to prohibit something and to punish offenders. And there is no law in my country that punishes someone for receiving funds that went through a specific address even if the president, the Pope or anyone else is angry. So again, I'm not afraid by that and I don't care, we will see in the coming months if people get into trouble for having used a decentralized sportsbook or casino, but it would really surprise me to be honest. For me it's just some kind of FUD spreads by big custodial casinos to avoid losing their customers and to manage to continue stealing their funds.

So I'm not afraid by that personally, but maybe in some authoritarian countries things are different. For the exchanges if I suspect the one I will use to convert my funds into fiat, to make those kind of troubles I will convert my funds into other assets through other exchanges before using it. Anyway I hope only a minority of people will have the same ideas as you and will be afraid by this kind of things, because it would be sad to conclude that decentralized platforms don't deserve to get the same success as less trustworthy ones.
1954  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: November 13, 2022, 01:09:05 PM
There are too many people who are asking for a proof and didn't believe Stunna (or didn't see his messages) and that’s not something Stake should care about because A- we are in just bitcointalk, they have a much much bigger audience then here and B- they do not really need to prove anything to anyone and still can be trusted by tens of thousands of people because of how amazing they have been so far.

If anyone saw what Stunna said and still do not believe him, then by all means they should not be continue to gamble here because if you don't believe in the word of Stunna then I do not know what would make you believe or be convinced that all is doing well.
I think you are making a big mistake if you think that Bitcointalk users opinion doesn't matter. Unlike other platforms, there is almost no censorship here, what is written stays for long and is easily retrieved by Google, moreover the biggest people of the crypto industry have an account here.
Twitch seems to have been a powerful tool for promoting casinos but now it has ended and casinos need to find other ways to attract new customers. I don't know precisely what is the average loyalty lifetime of a customer at an online casino, but I guess it's very short, hardly more than a whole year on average IMO.
According to this article, only 20% of customers make more than 5 deposits, and only 50% make a second deposit. So it would be a big mistake in the long run for a crypto casino to disregard the central place of the crypto universe IMO.

Quote
The client becomes loyal to the company after making at least six deposits. However, only 20% reach the sixth deposit, that is, one out of five people: this is where a considerable loss of money happens. From the moment of making the first deposit to making the second deposit, gambling companies lose half of the players.

That looks really sleek, however i've been wondering that haven't people followed what regulators are up to? You know, FATF new rules, and problem with unverified source of origin. Maybe i am paranoid but i would be worried to use any fully decentralized services as they are not accountable to regulators. This would mean that my wallets might get flagged because of aml laws if someone would use that site for money laundering. And they probably will as nothing is stopping them.
Flagged by who precisely? It would be really sad to see one crypto exchange flagging wallets just because they've used a decentralized service while cryptos have been designed for that purpose and I wouldn't want to use anymore an exchange like that. Anyway I don't know if it's so easy to track those transactions on the Polygon network(it would be interesting to test it) but an easy way to circumvent that could be to dedicate a wallet/set of addresses to this purpose and to isolate them from your other transactions. If you need your funds for something else you can use a swapping service to convert them into another crypto from another blockchain/network before sending them to an exchange or a merchant.

1959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinion on casinos that don't have ANN threads in the forum? on: November 12, 2022, 10:44:15 PM
That official thread for gambling site and their active official bitcointalk account do give more more sense of comfort because it can be a good means to commmun with the casino and this forum is available to the public.

But there are other means to contact the gambling site, like through their customer care, and that does not still change the fact that some people come with a post about how the gambling site wants to scam them.
ANN thread gives more confidence to bitcointalk clients as it makes us feel special about the fact that even if the casino has live support on the site, we still have a representative on the forum who attend to members' complains and issues especially unlike support where cases are treated sometimes at a slower past since the support attends to all customers.
But if there is a representative of the casino that is active on the ANN thread, such cases will be handled expressly, that is just one among many other reasons why casinos have to have an ANN.thread here.
Yes I agree with you, moreover it's always a good thing to have an independent place with almost no censorship where feedbacks can be freely and anonymously(pseudonymously more precisely) posted. The sad thing is the amount of spam and spammers here, who flood those threads with garbage comments unfortunately.

The time frame is really long but FUN as project is evolving in very good sense. They already have applications in the casino sites like Dplay and are having enormous promotions now and then. This helps the FUN to stay in the circulation and good volume. This is enough for FUN to survive through bear and bull markets. FUN will automatically rise in value over the time as result of stake programs, yearly appraisals and more investors along the way. Plus if we are freebitcoin HODLER then that’s an added advantage for all of us. Those benefits need not to be discussed as we enjoying them already.
Yes moreover, they haven't made an official announcement yet AFAIK but their new decentralized sportsbook with lay betting feature seems to be already open!
It's available there https://xfun.bet and it is just awesome!  Cool Fast, smooth and neat. You need to connect a (xFUN) wallet and your funds are sent and received directly from it without being stored by the bookie and thus without any risks of being locked/stolen.
In addition you can place normal bets (back bets) or offering bets at the odds you decide (lay bets) like on betting exchanges.
