1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as good store for value on: August 13, 2023, 07:53:14 PM
A lot of people only think of how they can make money from bitcoin to become rich and this is all they can think about bitcoin.   Bitcoin can be as a store of value for all assets,  making every properties to remain valuable. Bitcoin is a digital property that can be bought without any other expenses attached to it unlike some physical properties expecially Real Estate that has other much expenses that is needed to be spent first before getting the main property, if one should consider to convert this property into another form it will take more expenses for it to get done.

Bitcoin is a store of value,  it can converted from one currency to another without losing any value.  Their are other physical form in which people can consider to be a better way to store their assets,  but getting it done it can take expenses that will make the asset lose value. The potential to make good gain out of an asset without losing its initial value proves the worth of the asset and this is exactly what bitcoin is as a good store of value .
I disagree with you, because for being a reliable store of value, an asset needs to keep a rather stable or at least a predictable value over time, like gold, artworks, real estate and some commodities. This is not the case with Bitcoin, because despite its 21 million units limited supply and its decentralized nature it's an highly volatile asset, risky for investments. Unlike other commodities, it suffers from a lack of intrinsic value and a regulatory uncertainty, regulators can compromise its accessibility and legality in different jurisdictions.
1002  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been scammed ? on: August 13, 2023, 07:25:11 PM
One of the scams known is Reverse engineering which takes a talk with the hacker and the victim. After those conversations, the victim provides the details and the hacker now have the full access to them. Next is phishing which is a website that pretends to be the legitimate one the hacker now accesses your account or device without knowing of the victim and stole all of the funds.
This is the reason why having an anti-virus is a must to make sure your device is safe from those attacks.
The real name for that practice is Social engineering actually. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_engineering_(security)
It allows hackers to go beyond technical limits, so it can be a powerful way of hacking, I think we can categorize it as a kind of scam, but it's not a pure scam since the goal of social engineering is not to directly steal funds of one victim but to get informations or an access to a system.
Reverse engineering or backwards engineering, is something else, it has nothing to do with hacking and scamming "process or method through which one attempts to understand through deductive reasoning how a previously made device, process, system, or piece of software accomplishes a task with very little (if any) insight into exactly how it does so."

Maybe it was a parimutuel pool, so the guy didn't want people to bet on the same outcomes as him to avoid lowering final odds. People often do this kind of thing for horse racing because they are usually using parimutuel system, so they are often reluctant to share their conviction.

You will be happy than, this will be be the biggest La Liga pool for sure. I think we are closer to 25 now than 20, sent a bunch of links today. Seems like a lot of people like to join last moment. We have almost 150 mBTC in the pool which is not bad at all  Grin

Hello I would like to join the pool too. I sent you a PM with the transaction id. Thank you very much.

What ?

1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 06, 2023, 07:57:57 PM
Hey y'all...Seriously, I've been having this running through my mind.. maybe it's been discussed but this is on a diverse objective.
Why is it that we tend to have alot of men inclined and addicted to gambling than women? Is there any mystery guiding that?
I mean, You ain't gonna telme that everyone isn't roofed by this economic crises - both gender to speak of - so what's so special about men gambling?? Alot of cases has been reported several times too - and y'all end up realizing that MEN are usually involved in very many critical cases... What's that validating? That men are really taking the whole thing personal??

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
Testosterone allows men to be less feared and more attracted by danger and risky behaviours, but I think gambling is more related to culture than gender overall. For example I think ladies of some eastern asian countries are globally more eager to gamble than men of some european countries. In some cultures it's very natural and common to bet and to play with money while in some others it's perceived as a deviant behaviour. In addition, ladies don't play at the same games, they usually play more slots, lotto/bingo and loteries, while men play more table games like blackjack, poker, roulette and craps.
1011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 06, 2023, 07:47:23 PM
They have yet not reached that discussion AFAIK. Although Jake had been training with UFC fighters, it could just be for Nate to hope he can get even. In boxing JP couldn't KO Diaz but in UFC cage, JP will definitely find himself in trouble when he is not in a real MMA fight and being taken down. That is Nate's world already and JP wouldn't put himself in such a situation. And so the reason why it's not in a contract. Nate may be old for boxing but in UFC fight, Nate has more experience. I doubt Jake will agree to fight.
I don't understand why you say that Jake Paul will refuse that while according to what I read he has himself propose the deal to Nate Diaz, in addition he has already signed a contract with the PFL organization to make MMA fights. So I really think he will do it in the coming months or very few years. He will maybe fight one or two other opponents to begin, before facing Nate Diaz but he will definitely do it because I don't think he runs behind glory and victories, but just behind money. When his brother Logan Paul dared to face Mayweather it wasn't to try to beat obviously.
1012  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 3 ways of Turning your adversity to advantages in bitcoin on: August 06, 2023, 06:59:37 PM
we have several adversity in bitcoin such as no return, hacking, price volatility, scam and piracy.
None of what you mentioned here are problems with Bitcoin;

• Hacking happens on exchanges and third party wallets, the security of the Bitcoin network has proven to be very high over the years.
• Price volatility encourages speculative trading and is the reason many people who hold Bitcoin today bought it in the first place.
• Scam is also not a problem of Bitcoin, you're probably thinking altcoins.
• Bitcoin is non-fungible and resistant to piracy.
I don't think being autistic and denying reality will help crypto adoption, it just gives a bad image of crypto users, and show them as immature and bigot. It's a fact that it's more risky for the average Joe to hold Bitcoins at home or on an exchange than fiat money at bank. Saying wallets and exchanges have been hacked but the blockchain is still uncracked doesn't mean anything for the average user.
The high volatility of Bitcoin is maybe good for trading or gambling but it's bad for using Bitcoin as a mean of payment. And saying scams only happen with altcoins, never with Bitcoin is just a lie.
1013  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: its a rumors but... on: August 06, 2023, 06:41:01 PM
Statistically speaking the law enforcement have been catching those who ask for ransom in bitcoin a lot faster than those who do it using fiat. For example they caught the Twitter hackers who scammed people and took their bitcoins, were caught by FBI so fast that they released an statement about the record they had set in catching cyber criminals and they were super happy about it!
So, if anything bitcoin is the worst tool for majority of criminals because of its transparency that gets them caught quickly.
Could you share the link of the article claiming that please. Because it's very interesting but very surprising too. If cryptocurrencies were more risky to use for criminals than fiat, black markets on the darknet wouldn't use cryptocurrencies, they would use solutions based on fiat money instead. In addition, many hacks of platforms and scams have never been elucidated till now.
1014  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Empowering youths can be the quickest route to crypto adoption on: August 06, 2023, 05:59:22 PM
To achieve crypto adoption many key components must work effectively, and consistent innovations and breakthroughs across the crypto space must be in place; however the youths have key roles to play because at the center of this industry are youths who are eager to explore various opportunities.

It is also imperative to create awareness and empower this category of people. Having said that, seeing the recently introduced Bitget Builders Program feels like the right step in the right direction, an initiative targeted at empowering youths and moulding the next generation of crypto/blockchain experts and creating a career path for them.

What do you think about this program, do you think other exchanges can introduce similar programs to drive crypto adoption?
I agree with you, cryptocurrencies are not easy to understand and to manage properly for most people, so it's not a natural thing for the average Joe to use cryptocurrencies instead of cryptos. If the choice is given, he will tend to choose more smooth and user-friendly solutions. That's why people should be educated the more early as possible, in order to familiarize people efficiently with them and to enhance global adoption at the end.
1015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: its a rumors but... on: August 05, 2023, 11:55:55 PM
Most of this stuff is not new, and it was paid with cash money before, gold or through offshore half blinded banks. However I agree it makes more easy for hackers to be safely paid for ransomwares attacks though. They can stay completely anonymous, hidden and able to quickly receive very large amounts of money, without any risks of getting the funds locked but I am sure we will find more efficient ways to counter those attacks in the coming years.
1016  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware, New HVNC Malware Threatens Your Crypto Assets on: August 05, 2023, 11:48:38 PM
Usually this kind of stuff is posted in the Help and Beginners section, it's there you've posted it initially ? Because the scam accusations section is not as much visited and because it's more a warning than a scam accusation written against someone. DT members won't be able to red tag account. But your article shows iOS seems to be weak against this type of attacks.
1017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 05, 2023, 11:25:44 PM
This board has a lot of topic that comprises with the negativity about gambling addiction. Let’s change it for now to support the casino we are promoting here.

Gambling is important to the society because it provides huge taxes that government use on hospitals, infrastructure and other projects to help its citizens. Monacco country is popular with their casino but they don't allow its citizen to play. This shows how important gambling in their country because they still allowed to operate it even though they don't want citizens to be involved.

In our country, Our lottery use the proceeds to donate on the health center that provides free health service to our citizens.

Even if gambling commonly view as negative by commoner. Many didn't notice how big is the contribution of gambling to the society.

What is the benefits of gambling to your society?
Everything has changed with internet and online gambling, especially crypto casinos. Now everyone from any country can gamble at casinos even if it's forbidden in their countries. He just need to use an encrypted DNS or a VPN to circumvent the local barriers usually. That's why many countries or states choose to allow them. For example in US more and more states allow online and land-based casino and bookmakers while they were mostly Indian territories privileges. And Japan is now about to build one of the biggest casino of Asia, while they were prohibited before.

Can someone tell me why I am not getting the option to lock my FUN tokens ?
I searched for the option everywhere on the site but didn't find it.
Earlier it was present with the Buy/Sell button but it's missing from the dropdown now.

Can someone tell me why I am not getting the option to lock my FUN tokens ?
Click on the green button.

Thanks. But I had already tried clicking on green button but it didn't show me the confirm button.
I tried it again and now it worked.
Once you've clicked on the green button "FUN SAVINGS WITH 25% APY", you should get a pop-up where the amount of FUN tokens you want to lock is requested. You will just need to choose the duration of the investment after that, before confirming. You should note that your funds won't be available anymore before the end of the lock duration.

1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 05, 2023, 10:47:46 PM
I noticed that when I start to play games like keno, limbo, dice, etc. First some bets don't hit and after wagering some percentage of my balance it starts to hit,
How it works? like when we wager we have more probability to hit win, anyone noticed this? Do you know how it works and what is the calculation behind it?, do server sends outcomes by checking our wager?
On which gambling site you have noticed that please? Because if the website is really provably fair, this kind of thing shouldn't happen if you change/ use a client seed. Because the final outcome normally only depends of the client and server seeds and the nonce. So if you change your client seed after having the hash of the server one, there is no way to cheat you.
