19461  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cryptocurrency Socialist Revolution? on: December 11, 2013, 02:39:38 PM
I'm a Libertarian Socialist, but don't really believe in this redistribution of wealth. Giving everybody free money wont make people equal. Some people are just bad at dealing with cash for a start.

I do believe Bitcoins/cryptocurrencies could be part of a revolution, and really can fuck the banksters and corporations over bigtime. How and when is up to the people.

Monika, what would you show, if we create a poem only for you?

A poem? You cheap bastard  Grin. I wonder if this would work with prostitutes? I'm afraid I cannot pay you for your services, but I have written you this nice poem Cheesy.

It may just work romeo, you'll never know : )

You never know. Maybe you could also try paying them with sex as well Tongue, but something tells me this wouldnt work Grin.
19463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Christmas shopping on: December 11, 2013, 02:29:19 PM
I'm in the UK. I've got a gyft account, unfortunately there isn't much choice yet for UK customers - they've said that they will be looking to improve this in 2014.

Can we use Gyft in the UK?

Yeah, just not for very much right now. We have a very big market for gift cards here though so hope to see that change next year.

Which ones can we use? As I mentioned in the other thread, buying giftcards would be a quick and easy way to convert you BTC into something you can spend on the highstreet, but here's hoping we wont need to use Gyft and many highstreet stores will just start accepting BTC themselves in 2014.
19464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should I use Bitcoin instead of Paypal? on: December 11, 2013, 02:27:23 PM
Because Paypal and eBay are twats. I think everybody has already mentioned pretty much all the reasons why BTC/cryptos are better.

19465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Internet and what it represents is why Bitcoin will kill all currency on: December 11, 2013, 02:23:17 PM
i dont know if it will "kill all currency" as you stated
it will be an alternative option

it might kill paypal and western union though  Grin

I agree with this. If people had any sense Cryptos should fatally wound PP & WU, but how long they take to actually die is another question. Cryptos might kill fiat currencies eventually, but it's a long way off. Cryptos need to become so easy to use and store that our grandparents can use them with ease.

If people had any sense BTC/cryptos should destroy Paypal.

19468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia Donation Campaign and still no Bitcoin on: December 11, 2013, 02:07:00 PM
Do you guys reckon there's a reason/conspiracy theory why they haven't started accepting them, or is there some other less suspicious reason? I personally cannot fathom why they haven't implemented BTC donations yet.
19469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keiser Report: Bitcoin Battle (E534) on: December 11, 2013, 02:02:02 PM

Was is just me or was that Dr. Christos Vlachos occasionally/randomly talking in his native language, or was he just talking really fast? Found it comical either way.
19470  Economy / Services / Re: Need an item from the UK? I'll buy it, ship it, then you pay for it! [Worldwide] on: December 11, 2013, 01:49:35 PM
Are pork scratchings not available in the US, or is it just the Mr Porky ones that aren't?
19471  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS 6 BTC on: December 11, 2013, 01:44:27 PM
you can post your selling rate here.

Looks like $900 (+PP fees).

Are you willing to escrow?
19472  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do I need to be worried about reusing account addresses? on: December 11, 2013, 01:29:45 PM
Should I generate a new one with each transaction or is it safe to keep using the same one? Coinbase keeps spitting out the same address whenever I try to move BTC over there.

You don't need to. Depends on what you're doing. Also, it doesn't matter if people know your public addresses, just keep your private keys and log in details safe.

Does Gyft work in the UK? If so, I'll buy all my christmas presents with bitcoin Smiley

+1 looking for UK options... not a lot to be got.

I was also wondering this. I'm guessing you can't, but a service like this for the UK would be great.

I asked Gyft a while ago and apparently they are planning on looking after the UK properly next year. Smiley

Interesting. It would be a quick and easy way to convert you BTC into something you can spend on the highstreet, but here's hoping we wont need to use Gyft and many highstreet stores will just start accepting BTC in 2014.

I'm buying gifts and I'm looking for suggestions. I'm looking for gift which I can pay for in BTC - I just bought a knife from knives4bitcoin as a gift for my cousin. If anyone has any others they'd like to share, please post here.

What country are you in? In the US you can buy giftcards with BTC on Gyft: http://www.gyft.com/shop-for-gift-cards/

There's a thread about it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=366559.0

Does anyone know of any good books on Mandela? I'd like to read an impartial one if possible, but also ones who considered him a terrorist and those that considered him a hero - or perhaps even both.

I'd recommend his autobiography. Can be purchased from the Amazon for $11.35.

Most of the books which portray him as a terrorist are banned in online stores like Amazon, and might be available only from the black-markets.

Well his autobiography isn't going to be impartial Tongue, but I guess it'll be a good place to start and to see what he has to say about his side of the story.

And why are the books banned? Were they written by slanderous racist twats or something?
19477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has there been a time when you nearly lost your faith in Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2013, 01:10:13 PM

when i came to these forums -

i lost all faith.

+1 :-)

haha. I have both hope and faith in Bitcoin. 2014 is going to be the year of BTC. I'm excited to see what develops.
19478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Max Keiser Piss Anyone Else Off? on: December 11, 2013, 01:08:27 PM
I like him as a character, and was a fan, but I'm a little weary and suspicious of him now, especially when it seems like/ has been alleged that he's being paid to pimp out certain coins.

he is going to be on the Alex Jones show on Friday. These 2 combined is quite interesting, I hope they both start yelling at the same time.

Have you seen them both with The Artist Taxidriver? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFTyjca3BME

He's been on a few times.

Has Ron Paul said if he's going to run in 2016, or is he out now?
