1961  Economy / Gambling / Re: LTCCasino.com (Suspicious payout) on: May 19, 2023, 03:08:14 PM
I will advice you to use trustworthy casinos on this forum. Go to gambling board to check.

I check Trustpilot review about the casino, it is bad, poorly rated.

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.ltccasino.com

Do not even believe the little good reviews you saw, they can be bought.

I will advise you to avoid this type of casino. There are good ones on gambling board on this forum.
1962  Economy / Economics / Re: Kraken, UK trade body derides lawmaker description of crypto as ‘gambling’ on: May 19, 2023, 11:41:29 AM
Some may take this negatively but there's some truth to what they claim since a super majority of cryptocurrencies really have little to no intrinsic value so "investing" in them may be considered as gambling. If you say it's not then just take a look at those frogs inserted on the blockchain. I personally think putting money on those types of crypto is like buying a lottery ticket. Of course there are a few with actual utility but the problem is how will regulators separate them from the rest when they make legislative proposals.
I agree on this, but the problem is that bitcoin is categorised as crypto too and as a risky asset class. Only in few countries like USA that still go further to categorised bitcoin as a commodity which makes it better. If you truly look at it, there are many ICO, IEO and IDO scams in the past, there are still many more scam now, like the present BRC20 tokens which is a hype that will still go down and also in a way that they are existing for some people to be lose money. Many altcoins are gambling. But there is still hope in buying coins that to be gambling.
1963  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which wallet should a beginner choose? on: May 19, 2023, 11:30:53 AM
Are they stupid? I don't know because I don't know what is their reason to build that service and put customer coins at risk.

Bitcoin Q&A: Why is Seed Splitting a Bad Idea?

Do they build something better like Shamir Secret Sharing ?

A beginner guide to Shamir Secret Sharing

I will not buy a hardware wallet with my money and face with risk to lose my coins because the seed is shared to three entities.
Ledger created that in a way that Ledger users that opt-in for it will not be able to lose their coins even if they lose their seed phrase. It is making use of Shamir secret sharing, in a way each company has the seed phrase shard or so which can be combined and be used to recover the seed phrase. But this can make the seed phrase security to be vulnerable and also giving way to the government to have more control. I will not tell anyone to use it because it is bad in my opinion. There is nothing better than having your seed phrase backups offline.
1964  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I trade bitcoin? on: May 19, 2023, 10:49:42 AM
You can use binance. It is a centralized exchange platform that you can still use for trading after you verify your account but you have to understand that trading bitcoin from forex platform or crypto exchange platform are not far different and if you are making losses it means you are not trading rightly and can also continue making losses even after you use exchange. Bitcoin no doubt is highly volatile and that is the reason for most traders making losses, trading stablecoins can be a little bit better.
What is the difference? I mean trading bitcoin and trading stable coin. A trader can not prefer to trade stable coin for a stable coin to make profit, that is even not possible for profit making, traders trade unstable and stable coins pair.

If you are on a spot market, you will prefer to trade BTC/USDT pair. Also if you are on a future trading market, you will prefer to trade BTCUSDT. Even if you go for Coin-Margin which is the one that is different, that does not mean that it is not risky like others mentioned too. But spot trading is not as risky as future trading.

Another thing is that a trader can have the knowledge about market, indicators, charts and others, but how the profit is calculated using pips and lots in forex is not the same as crypto trading which requires little and easy calculations. Not that the calculation in forex is difficult too though.
1965  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I trade bitcoin? on: May 19, 2023, 10:38:55 AM
Friends, I have download different apps from forex trading and I use most of them trying to trades bitcoin but it seem too difficult and failing, forex indications and signals are not a match when compare to bitcoin so every buys or sells I end up close the market with red lines of loss. I want to know if there is a bitcoin trading apps, that's mainly for trading bitcoin? Like the blockchain but I need local apps or website links. Please assist with good response.
If you want to trade bitcoin, I mean the real bitcoin, you can use centralised exchanges. You can see the lists of centralize exchanges on Coingecko and their rank.

https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges

You can see their trading volume and their ranking score. Check the ones that provide exchanges services to people in your country.

The best platform for trading will highly depend on what country you're in. Mostly though, I'd go with Binance and Kucoin. Probably Coinbase if you're from the United States(or any country they support).
There are many good exchanges that I am using. Bybit, OKX, Huobi Global and some others are good. I use Binance and Kucoin, they are both good too.

For non KYC exchanges: Current list of exchanges without KYC

But know that all exchanges mentioned are centralised exchanges and they may request or force their users to do KYC at anytime.
1966  Economy / Economics / Kraken, UK trade body derides lawmaker description of crypto as ‘gambling’ on: May 18, 2023, 10:20:20 AM
Read it completely on the link, or read the quote

https://blockchair.com/news/kraken-uk-trade-body-derides-lawmaker-description-of-crypto-as-gambling--dcfaa70466

Self-regulatory organization CryptoUK and crypto exchange Kraken have slammed a recent report from a panel of British lawmakers that suggested crypto should be regulated in a similar vein to gambling.

Crypto is not gambling, we all know that. But crypto can be seen as gambling for some people that do not understand much about them because crypto gives more hope than gambling.

Bitcoin is a commodity, most altcoins like ether are securities. Why can lawmakers think that crypto are like gambling. Are the lawmakers right about this?
1967  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which wallet should a beginner choose? on: May 18, 2023, 08:57:04 AM
A beginner should first understand how much amount he wants to invest and for how many days he wants to hold it.  If the amount is small then I don't think it makes sense to waste money on buying a hardware wallet.  But if the investment amount is a bit big then it is better to buy hardware in that case. However, only $50 is available to buy a hardware wallet.  Such as Sefpal, Ledger or Trezor.
Safepal is a close source wallet, it is cheap to buy, but it is one of the wallets I can not tell anyone to buy when there are good ones. It is better to buy a better wallet like Passport or Trezor.

Ledger Nano is not good too.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5452900.msg62251240#msg62251240

If you care about your seed phrase and private keys, if you care about your privacy, if you care about how your wallet is generating and storing seed phrase, do not use any Ledger lab wallet.

But if you want to invest less amount then in that case you can use non-custodial wallet in the beginning it will also give security to your investment.
Hardware wallets are noncustodial wallets, just like noncustodial online wallets, only the difference between them is that the private key of hardware wallet is not created online and not online, unlike online wallets.
1968  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: congested mempool & LN on: May 18, 2023, 08:45:15 AM
Maybe Ordinals and BRC20 showing up before the next bull run might be a blessing in disguise (The hype for the shitcoins will have died down that no sane person would want to even here about them)
You know what the mempool was before Ordinals and Inscriptions started making use of Taproot to create NFTs and Tokens. I used to make a transaction of 1 sat/vbyte. The lowest transaction that I noticed which was on weekends on last Sunday was 17 sat/vbyte. Almost all the time over 20 sat/vbyte now. If compared to 1 sat/vbyte before, it is 20 times higher now.

Another thing is that these coins may survive, an example is the meme coin called pepe, it is also existing on other blockchain like ethereum blockchain. We may think that the tokens may become shotcoins and die, but what if the hype follows the bull run? Bitcoin blockchain would be congested at that time, followed by Ordinals and Inscriptions making the congestion to be far worse because the tokens and non fungible tokens are hyped during bull run and it is a bull market for them too.
1969  Economy / Gambling / Re: What all are your considerations before picking your go to sportsbook? on: May 18, 2023, 08:20:23 AM
A reputable sportsbook is a must. Not having too strict KYC might be a consideration in making a sportsbook list, so you should ask the support service about withdrawal limits that don't require KYC.
Gambling sites that require KYC are strict with it, they are not strict when someone register and deposit into their gambling account, but they become strict if you win and want to withdraw.

If a gambling site is not a KYC gambling site, they may have a rules that, no KYC only applies to certain amount of money won that the punter wants to withdraw.

What I mean is that a no KYC gambling site may not have strict rules, but those KYC gambling sites have it.
1970  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 8 Best Decentralized exchange on: May 18, 2023, 08:11:22 AM
What the world are calling decentralised exchanges should not be regarded as decentralised exchanges.

Example is Uniswap or dYdZ which are basically for ether and ethereum tokens. Can I exchange bitcoin or other coins and tokens which belong to other network which are not ERC20 tokens on the ethereum decentralised exchanges? The answer is No.

Another example is Pancakeswsp and Binance Dex or so. They are for Binance coin and tokens which are BNB, BEP2 tokens and BEP20 tokens. Aside from anything on the Binance beacon and Binance smart chain, you can not exchange to other coins or tokens on other networks.

Which makes them not decentralised as it is said they are, but they are centralised not some ways.

The real decentralised exchanges example is Bisq. Although the coins listed on Bisq are not many, just only few coins are listed.
1971  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which wallet should a beginner choose? on: May 17, 2023, 12:52:24 PM
I decided to buy a wallet and try to make money on the crypt. Which one to choose, is there at a price of more than $ 200 is there less, what to pay attention to? It is for a beginner, I don't want to lose a lot of money if something doesn't work out.
Buy passport. It is the best hardware wallet that I see now.

Trezor is my best before if you know about adding passphrase to your wallet while creating a wallet with it. Because without the passphrase, Trezor is not safe if stolen. An attack can be done if a thief stole the hardware wallet.  Adding passhrase will let that not to happen. I like Trezor before the introduction of coinjoin with the help of wasabi wallet.

Bitbox02 is perfect except that it supports AOPP which many people do not like. It is only applicable to those in their country Switzerland, but it can be like a virus that can spread to other countries, people do not like Bitbox02 for that reason. But it is a very secure wallet that can be used.

Ledger or Trezor.
You have to exclude Ledger because it is one of the worst wallets that you can buy right now.  If you want to know why, you can read this two topics:

@theymos - Time to update the current Ledger situaion @ Important Announcements?
Ledger Recovery - Send your (encrypted) recovery phrase to 3rd parties entities

Read the second topic which is the most important and can be seen on the first topic. Ledger is becoming stupider day by day.
1972  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are we expecting from now until Bitcoin halving? on: May 17, 2023, 11:14:01 AM
Nobody knows, but I am expecting bitcoin to get to $20000 once again which would result to a massive buy. Going below $25000 for now may not be achievable, but in some coming months before this year ends or before halving next year, bitcoin price may still fall and get to $20000 which would be a very strong support and buying price point.
1973  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: May 16, 2023, 05:21:23 PM
Trading is a good way to lose, especially for people that have just started. For some people that continues to trade, some among them continue to lose. Trading is not a means to make incomes, expect you follow the somethings. Things like:

Not using more than what you can afford to lose. Unless you have tested your strategy for months and not failing.
Using amount lower than what you can afford to lose to start
Be disciplined
Trading not taking your time and becoming problem for your health.

Trading is easy to talk about, but to win consecutive is another thing which only very few traders are good at. Most traders are losing. Just accept that, because it is the truth.
1974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: May 16, 2023, 04:31:35 PM
People are different. I have gambled before and withdraw but it did not work after I thought that I will see the money come to my address but I did not see anything. I checked the gambling site again after two days and I saw that the money is still there, but I thought I have withdrawn it. It does not concern and I only just make another withdraw and it was successful. I was happy that I did not choose Arsenal in the coming match which I initially intended to do but I did not. I am not a frequent gambler,  just once in a week or two weeks, so this can not happen to me, but it is a good advice.
1975  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The reason of why Bitcoin is good for trading (for me) on: May 16, 2023, 10:15:59 AM
First of all I'm not a real trader, but I like to trade to earn small amount profit.

I only use BTC/USDT pair because USDT make me easier to determine how much my coins worth after trade and most liquid stable coin, the reason why I choose BTC is I don't need to worry about it when my trading goes wrong. So if I bought Bitcoin at the peak and the price keep decreasing, I will not sell it, but I will wait for the next super cycle where Bitcoin usually break new ATH.

Keep in mind I never learn about chart, candlestick, trend etc, all of my decision come from my mood and instinct. No stop limit, no follow any signal, no watching my PC for 24/7 etc, just directly buy and sell.

Is there anyone like me here? Cheesy
With everything that you explained, you are not a trader. You prefer to hold is only what you are saying indirectly. Holding is better, but the correction can come in short time too and you will make profit and won't be considered as holding, but you need to use indicators and technical knowledge of trading to become a good trader. If you have the technical knowledge and you follow this, I think it will pay you as you do not use leverage.

If you are not greedy, the best coin to trade is bitcoin. There are many altcoins that are very volatile, I do not know why those exchanges are listing them for derivative trading. But there are still better altcoins too. But preferably, bitcoin is better.

Know that if you do not apply the technical knowledge and trading strategies, you are only gambling.
1976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things that still make feel awkward with some online casinos on: May 16, 2023, 10:04:23 AM
Why are some online gambling platforms having high withdrawal fee? I know Bitcoin recently has a high transaction fee but that's no more right now, some online casinos are still asking for 5$ per transaction when it should be 1$ or less.
Can you mention the casinos that you saw high withdraw for altcoins? If you think that bitcoin withdrawal is high, you can be using altcoins that has low fee, like litecoin and Tron which I have seen on many gambling site to have a low fee. Also USDT on Tron network and on some other networks has a cheap withdrawal.

Not just only Bitcoin withdrawal, even coins with very low transaction fee, isn't this robbery? If you just signed up on a centralized exchange, you can pretend as if you want to withdraw, to know how much the gas fee costs, but on online casino, you will see this only after you have enough wins or funds for withdrawal.
If you check exchanges, most of them increased their bitcoin withdrawal fee. Taking Binance as an example, the exchange increased the fee from 0.0002 BTC to 0.001 which is far higher than $5 with the recent price of bitcoin. Only the exchange that I am using that is better with very low fee is OKX and the lowest the exchange charges recently that I know is 0.00016 BTC which is more than $4.
1977  Economy / Gambling / Re: What all are your considerations before picking your go to sportsbook? on: May 16, 2023, 06:56:02 AM
Long ago, I had created a list of sportsbooks with presence on bitcointalk along with a few categories to help fellow bitcointalk members look through them and decide on which sportsbook to choose.
For Bitcointalk members? When only the gambling board is enough for us to know some trustworthy crypto gambling sites. I am not saying your work is not useful though, some people (which are not on Bitcointalk) can know your site which can help them if they are looking for trustworthy crypto gambling sites.

Please do contribute on what categories would you like to see to compare sportsbooks.
Which category are you talking about? Can you give examples.
1978  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance User on: May 15, 2023, 03:20:13 PM
Binance is an exchange, you should move this thread to exchanges board.

Binance sent notification to their users about change of addresses, which they have changed already. But Binance enable manual deposit for any user that uses old address. Is this what you are talking about? I saw several notifications that Binance displayed on their site several times before the exchange start to use the new addresses but I did not know the coins that are affect.

Binance is an exchange, people should know that it is not your own keys, it is Binance that have the exchange and the keys. If you want to give your Binance address to anyone or you want to send money there, go to Binance to get your address.
1979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some needed features of an online casino. on: May 15, 2023, 09:40:41 AM
This should be discussed by the owners and workers of a gambling site, not a discussion for gamblers. I mean this discussion does not fit into gambling board.

if the website requires the idendtity then they can also use their parents ID or someone the know with valid ID.
Why using parent ID? That is wrong, especially if the parent do not know about it.

Then facials verification is also something very important to track down those that are secretly stealing their parents id, if this is required I don't think any under age child could have the courage to meet their parents to help them pass kyc while the parents knows the implications involved.
I think no parent will give his or her ID document to any of his or her children to use to verify on a gambling site. Most likely that the child use the ID document unknowingly to the parent.

But you are right, facial recognition can be helpful.
1980  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Spot trading or future trading which trading is best for beginers? on: May 15, 2023, 06:58:59 AM
Spot trading is good for beginners. But if the beginner determine to use only one 1x leverage and not going beyond that, he can learn future trading because it is the actual trading that is equivalent to trading forex, stocks and commodities in a way that you can either go long or short.
