1965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PPC] PPCoin Released! - First Long-Term Energy-Efficient Crypto-Currency on: October 14, 2013, 06:59:03 AM
I don't understand why its called long term energy efficient crypto. It used the same energy mining bitcoin and ppcoin right? or am I missing something.

From wiki : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PPCoin#Energy_efficiency

PPCoin's proof-of-stake system was developed to address the high energy consumption of Bitcoin.[1] For example, as of April 2013 the generation of Bitcoins was using approximately $150,000 USD per day in power consumption costs.[15] The proof-of-stake method of generating coins requires very minimal energy consumption; it only requires the energy to run the client software on a computer, as opposed to running resource-intensive cryptographic hashing functions.[1] During its early stages of growth, PPCoins will be generated by proof-of-work like Bitcoin, however over time proof-of-work will be phased out as proof-of-work difficulty increases and rewards decrease.[1] Proof-of-stake will then become the primary source of coin generation, which will lead to a decrease in energy consumption over time.[1]

No way this is going to work, the first thing that come in mind is legal issue. Is BTC even a legal currency to be consider?

Is Peiypallll  a legal currency?

Paypal isn't a currency, it's a payment processor.. like Bitpay.
USD and BTC are currencies. USD is handled by Paypal. BTC is handled by Bitpay.

How can you not understand the difference?

I was trying to state the obvious. duh

1. My contact in AirAsia will talk to the senior management over there to clear any doubts.
2. Talking to Bips and Bitpay on how to go forward.

Good news since Coinotron was acting weird on my server and I wanted a backup to the D7 PPC pool.

SecondMarket BIT + NeoBee projects are enough to push the price x10 soon IMHO...

I predict more like Q2 2014? Won't be so soon. Unless something big like the previous Cyprus bailouts happen.

Been using  inputs.io for quite sometime. (TF is a trusted person AFAIK)
If you really need a desktop wallet, try Electrum.
I've had bad experiences with older versions of multibit.
1976  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC100 CNY exchange reports 80,000btc 24hr volume on: September 29, 2013, 01:14:59 AM
Maybe its CNY volume that resets rather than continuous.

Hope to get to the bottom of this.
I want to submit stats of Bitcoin volume/users and get AirAsia to use BTC as a payment system.

I keep finding it and then losing it but where's that website that shows estimates of the current market capital and current coins in circulation of all the coins not just Bitcoin in existence? It was very good and would probably be great help to these guys, you should also explain though that because it's decentralised it would be very difficult to locate everybody. There's also Bitlisten ( if I remember right this was the non-virus/hijacked one ) so you could post that if they want to have some fun looking at how many people are trading on MTGOX off hours Cheesy http://www.bitlisten.com/ I'd recommend getting a lot of exchange data together or maybe getting some articles on the volume because I suspect people would have already done maths regarding that.

market cap for all crypto coins?
