1961  Economy / Economics / Re: Ripple CEO Says Crypto Industry Has to Rebuild Trust on: March 09, 2023, 05:31:31 PM
It's very hard for people to trust crypto when it's demonized by the media all the time and the government doesn't have a clear law about it.

I think Ripple has to really win thier fight against SEC so they will finally draw the line which is security and which is not. This I guess can be the first step. The SEC itself classifying stablecoin as security is already not making crypto industry look good. While Gensler himself has a close relationship with the FTX team.  Cracking down crypto or the one they call operation Chokepoint will not give them the soft landing or the viable exit strategy as they are pushing the crypto players offshore.
1962  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Casinos Launched in Canada on: March 09, 2023, 05:12:07 PM

I do not know how thoroughly you have checked the online casino, but just by trying to go to the site of the first in the list wildcasino.ag I get an error message after checking it on trustpilot and it's clearly a garbage casino score of 1.8.
I also saw it like that but I thought the site is under maintenance. But the rest once are working though I didn't check all but few. I was attracted by the advertisement strategies that is why I brought it here.

Most of the casino listed on the article provided by the OP are unknown or not worthy to discuss since they don’t valid data here in the forum moreover just a paid article to shill those unknown casino. Only BC.game is active here while Canada is not allowed to play in there. Probably the writer of that article doesn’t undergo a thorough research and just copy paste all the data from web.

Besides, I don’t understand too the basis for the highest payout. It just stated the bonuses offered but payout means the max win a player can win on the casino.

I am not paid, I don't even know where those casinos are operating except the statement made online that they were launched newly in Canada. I only brought it as information. Well my mind didn't reflect on BC.game that it does exist here which I am also aware of. But it could be that the casino was not at Canada and they (Canada) casino organization just launched it along site with others.

Probably not you but the article site itself are paid to publish the such article on the site.  Not-so-famous blog sites commonly accept posting articles.

Many of them offer generous bonuses as they open to Canadian clients. Like the rest have noticed only BCgame is known to bitcointalk users. The rest of these casinos are sure not reviewed and will likely scam Canadian users.

1963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you Bet on a Fight that is Scripted? on: March 09, 2023, 04:20:32 PM
When there is nothing else to bet on.

They promise the pre-outcome will not go public. But it's more devastating instead because the WWE itself will scam the public by betting against the people who believe these scripted fights. There are more fights out there other than NBA and if it's just for the sake you can gamble, every country today has had a premier league since the time India started it.
1964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A remark on casino bonuses on: March 09, 2023, 04:07:19 PM
I do not think that these banners are "useless" perse like what you mentioned OP. Again, the purpose focuses on gaining attraction and users are not compelled to follow these certain TNCs in the first place.

I meant promos that banners promote are useless.

A banner may say, deposit and get $100 bonus but after checking terms you realize it's not as straightforward as it appears.

Consider it advertising. It's usually just a lie, there are times it can be true and sometimes not.
But whoever did it either a casino or any company had achieved his goal, to make you curious and click the banner. Whether you signup or not, he may made you look and read.

if what they are saying is true though then it's too good. Even if you really got the $100 after the deposit, the terms and conditions will always be disappointing. The gamblers who had been in gambling for years may have given up to those promos.
1965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 09, 2023, 03:27:03 PM
Difficult to take a side in the confrontation between Will Smith and Chris Rock.
Dunno, for me it wasn't hard to take a side because Smith is obviously wrong there and there is no excuse for his behavior. But since he was insecure and wanted to appear "man" in his wife's eyes (while she is having affairs with other men lol), he did that stupid thing were he end up looking even more pathetic.

Rock is someone who didn't had anything to lose and actually he provoked Smith for some cheap publicity. But overall, it left a bad taste for the viewers like me who were watching the event live. And I can see that Rock hasn't stopped his provocations. A few days back, he starred in a Netflix special, in which he mocked and made fun of Will Smith. He even ridiculed Smith's role in Emancipation.
That's what comedians do and that's why the are often hosts in these ceremonies and if you think that what Rock said is bad, what would you say then about Rickey Gervais and his Golden Globes bits? If comedians can't take jokes, who can?

Chris handled it well though. He didn't retaliate but continued the hosting. I say Oscar is the kind of gathering where it's normal to joke around and smile even when the joke isn't as pleasant as you want. Smith acted as if Chris doesn't joke that much even then.

@Betwrong. The final voting for the Oscar awards this year are done on March 2 to March 7 and very much similar to the years before, there are some leaks in information that the oddmakers can collect and change the odds correspondingly.

In any case, the odds did not change. I am quite certain Everything Everywhere will win the Oscar for best picture. I speculate the Hollywood agenda this year is forget everything, enjoy your life heehehe.

I thought it's about constant fighting for understanding between generations and between people in general, but, well, maybe it's because I'm living in the midst of the war for the last year I see fighting even in movies. Now I think it's both, and you are right too. Smiley

Was that the movie's storyline hehehe? What I saw immediately was the LGBTQ agenda and on a conservative Asian family hehe. The messaging has become stronger and it is being displayed everywhere. I am not against LGBTQ, however, the methods used by the creators of movies and television series are forcing it on us already. This is not good, I reckon.

In any case, you have made good bet. It appears that the Oscars voters have again chosen a happy movie this year.

It can't be a happy movie when a conspiracy theorist comes to spoil it all because Michelle Yeoh is Chinese. Some of them are already claiming they own the NBA, but now also Hollywood?   Kidding  Grin

I'm also kind of looking into the agenda of movies including the war and zombie movies seem to be sending a message to us all.
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is launching a new project during bear market a good idea?? 🤔 on: March 09, 2023, 02:57:24 PM
FireDAO is a social DAO project based on PID and FID soul-bound accounts, and it's initiated and established by the RainbowCity Foundation. I'm one of the project team member and would like to gather more ideas from everyone in Bitcointalk forum.

I've seen alot of projects did so well during the bull market, but now I'm wondering is bear market will affect the progress of a new project...

The fact that you have doubts about launching it in a bear market, may just be a hunch inside you. Investors are moving out of crypto to wait for the right time again to come back. This time however it seem like the market had bottomed. If this is what you also believed maybe it's not so much of a bad idea anymore since investors are also looking for GEMS.
1967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there will ever be a technology that can replace Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2023, 05:46:19 PM
We can't be sure of what will happen to BTC 200 years later. The halving will probably decrease miners' pay per block down to the smallest they could get but the price could be enormous.

Not sure if BTC will be replaced but sure the altcoins are aiming to be the top choices. Who knows Shib will make us all dog lovers and we are all in the Shibarium and its metaverse buying meta space. My best guess is that every country will have its stablecoin not exactly CBDC but using blockchain and back by commodity.
1968  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 08, 2023, 05:25:46 PM

10-15 yrs old seems very early to be trading. Isn't the terms of exchanges not allowing these age brackets?

But if you have the money and you really wanted your kids to learn to trade as early as possible then why not.  But it must also depend if the kids also like to learn. For all, we know teens this age are still playing Princess Prom Night Dress up which means it going to be a total waste of money if the kids lose it all without learning something because he or she is not interested.
1969  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 08, 2023, 04:39:30 PM
We're still early in crypto. That's what I thought back in 2016 also that I'm already late in crypto but I saw ETH from $7 to more than $1000. Now that it's back to $1500, it shouldn't be surprising to see it back to more than $4k in the bull market.

What is needed for an aspiring trader I think is that before the bull run, the dip of prices is pretty much low, and something the investor's sentiment has already dropped to the lowest. Which is also the right time to buy.
1970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 08, 2023, 03:56:58 PM
Lets wait for Jones to make his first heavyweight title defence and make a conclusion if he really is the greatest or not Cheesy So far it looked like it was an easy win for him. Stipe Miocic promised to smash Jones. Hope we wont have to wait years before Jones fights again. Who else we have among heavyweights ? Pavlovich ? Imho that is going to be copy/paste fight against Gane. Imho a wrestler is needed to win, a wrestler that will counter Jones wrestling, the one who will be able to throw bombs.

I don't think Stipe has a slight chance against Jones, he is also retired.

Dana needs to offer Francis to come back and fight. They wouldn't wait for the two to deteriorate by old age before realizing they need to fill the demand of fans to determine who is the best beast in this combat sport.  Or we will forever wonder who will really win if they both rage.
The money has to be really huge, and whoever refuses be scaredy cat.
1971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [UFC] Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev on: March 08, 2023, 03:28:06 PM

Gaethje is the most fun to watch whenever he fights. He is not very active anymore unlike in his 20s, he wouldn't last.

Bookies may favor Fiziev. Rumor has it that he'd been calling JG to fight him but JG kept voiding him. They do have impressive KOs though but Fiziev is younger and sharper, it's legkicks vs leg kicks or Fiziev will just have to avoid leg kicks to outclass JG.

1972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 07, 2023, 09:54:45 PM
That is why I dont like women MMA and their fights are always so unpredicted. Women fights are always a total mismatch on the paper, and a close fight in the octagon. This not the first time a woman fighter with 7+ odd wins. Zhang Weili was same underdog in her last fight. Dont forget Julianna Pena vs. Amanda Nunes upset. And I did not even started to google. I am sure I would have found more example. In men UFC, I can remember only how Leon Edwards make a huge upset to Kamaru Usman.

Men's UFC generally does not have too many unpredictable results. It is generally much easier to predict men's fights compared to women's fights. Actually, the odds are very misleading when it comes to women's fights. If men's fight is looking very competitive and good on paper, it can be expected that the fight is going to be competitive. But if women's fight does look to be competitive on paper it might be competitive and it might not, and vice versa, no one knows!

Rousey vs Holms was also the same upset. I'm already convinced that I would be betting for the underdog once they match a champ vs an unexpected contender.

It would appear like Dana's team knows exactly who to match up with and who could beat who whenever they meet in the cage. It tricked the bookmakers.

1973  Economy / Economics / Re: The Biggest Financial Regrets on: March 07, 2023, 09:25:47 PM
Probably many of us are just drinking and smoking during our high school days.  I wish we didn't sell our fishing boat, I would have continued the business.

One of the biggest regrets that rich old people told me is that they didn't produce many kids when they were younger.  I think I already understood what they mean by it. Because you want the things you have to give to them  If you have big properties, gold, and BTC, you would want your kids to have them after you die but having none or just one is just not very productive.
1974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My arguement with a friend who likes POS instead of POW. on: March 07, 2023, 08:23:40 PM

Maybe include something like ETH does have a CEO while BTC has none. Having a CEO means centralization can be compromised.

I hope though you will still continue to be friends lol If this kind of conversation happened probably in the 90s generation, I think it's already a fight. You don't have to prove something to him, you only need to show the rank and the price comparison so I hope it won't end up in physical contact.  Grin
1975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 07, 2023, 07:50:39 PM
I think GSW is lowkey still a great team, people are sleeping on them even right now. They are the team that won it all last year, that is why I believe that we shouldn't really expect them to lose right away neither. They had some injury issues all season long which kept them low, but if they are in the playoffs, then they are contenders, of course with the condition that they stay healthy. I personally see a team that has curry, klay, poole, dray all on the same team with some decent role players not really that bad, they are quite good actually. Suns is good, Mavs are good, but GSW will definitely be good too.

They manage to stay afloat even with all the injuries they suffered this year. That is quite impressive. They could have a chance to repeat what they have done last year. They also were not on the top of the ranking last year but were able to win it all. But it will be harder to duplicate that right now since Durant is also in the West now with the Suns. The Warriors are still a contender, but it will be harder to win now.

KD was a big part of the team. It's disappointing to see him moving to another team. But they still can make it without him. It's a minor adjustment. Time to show he is not the reason why GSW will fail. There's Wiggins to fill the position. Against OKC, I prefer GSW after all SGA still is not around as well. Hopefully, they'll win.  If Poole performs badly still just like the last time, then he really has some issues to fix.
1976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In 38 Days, Freebitco.in is going to give out $200,000 in BITCOIN!!! on: March 07, 2023, 03:02:13 PM
More impressive thats its a regular thing but it has been the case Ive seen various lotteries have been operated to give out a grand prize such as a supercar or house.   That can be done sometimes as it has tax advantages and maybe its more profitable then selling the supercar or house to do so; I've definitely seen it done more then once.
The FBC draw for 200k or the car is either on the winners choice and usually they take the BTC payout as the car has delivery costs possibly.  The BTC payout gives interest immediately which is worth having so long as the winner is not suddenly at that moment very bearish on BTC prospects then maybe the car would make sense to take.
The interest paid would be about 0.35 BTC on top of the prize if retained annually, not enough yield to sway most people.  I have some tickets but would require extreme luck to actually take this, I hope anyway.

The car is an attention grabber, a Bitcoiner having a Lambo in the neighborhood will really give an impression to the bad guys lurking around. With the crisis happening globally. It's going to keep people around nosy about how an individual riding a Lambo in 2023. I would be taking the BTC instead if I win.

$200K is really huge for a giveaway and sure there will be a ton of users trying their luck for it.
1977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Creating a new type of DEX for leverage trading. Need suggestions/feedback on: March 06, 2023, 08:38:53 PM

Will the protocol you are developing be open-source so that all DEX can actually use it as well?  There are many that will likely be interested as well.

I have not actually tried DYDX for leverage trading. If x10 is enough for the DEX not to be bankrupt when everyone wins in the bull market then it is good for all anxious users to add more funds when they are losing.
1978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 06, 2023, 07:11:50 PM
~
Yes, it's true that at this time AI cannot predict who will win and who will lose, or maybe the developer did not include this in the ChatGPT system because if you think about it, predict by analyzing opportunities, abilities, experience and conditions of a the team can be assessed with specific statistics and it is possible that in such a program the AI will provide possibilities with such calculations. But it seems that it's not in ChatGPT yet, we may need to wait some more time to see its development in the future, and who knows AI can be as intelligent in predicting as humans.

It will need more updates in the future for it to be able to analyze updated data from sports news and bookies. They are going to be part of the data sources for AIs to be able to correctly set up replies to betting queries.

But still up to us to believe what it wants to say.  I am one of those who just bet through what others picked so I know exactly how it feels when betrayed by the information fed to me. Once the AIs prove to be useless in sports betting, we'll finally stop bugging after consecutive loss.
1979  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance.US again in trouble | SEC continues to harass offshore presence on: March 06, 2023, 06:58:12 PM

It's getting obvious already. First, the BUSD through Paxos and then this time, the binance.US which could mean they are to get binance.com. SEC has been the most corrupt so it's up to harass binance.com this time but like Ripple, Binance will be able to put up a big fight against them since they have the money. But I think they would have to provide evidence first on thier own before they can go on harassing.
1980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers meet? on: March 06, 2023, 03:53:59 PM
Telegramchannels.me is already good I'm sure he'll find what he is looking for, but if you ask me I'll advise him to pick the one that will serve his purpose, when you are in a general group like gambling people will send you a lot of unsolicited messages and befriend you and try to manipulate you, people should be aware on how these people works and do their scheme, you have seen so many complaints about this in the scam section, so be wise and don't fall for profiles with a pretty face or sexy profiles.

Telegrams though are not very organized, unlike discord where the admin can create a particular room for betting which is easy for members to just see information or chat messages if they are up to gambling. While if it's on telegram, the message can be dragged up and only the fresh messages will be noticed.

Telegramchannels.me made it easy to spot them all. If sujonali1819 can contact the admin and maybe pay the admin will agree to pin the message on top for a price.
