Team to win- India

I doubt we will have much participants staking BTC for Bangladesh, may be Little Mouse will do some. I hope someone stake a little BTC for Bangladesh, otherwise, pool BTC will be sent to whom? In case, no one stake for Bangladesh but Bangladesh win.
1982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Number of full nodes since 2015 on: November 04, 2019, 03:19:16 PM
From my previous update on last July, the number of active node has been decreased. But within the last 90 days, ~16% has been increased.

Same as, In China the number of nodes have been decreased from my last update but within the last 90 days it has been increased as well.

If anyone is wondering why I am doing this- I most often check the active nodes worldwide and share here as well so that other user can also have a look.

Market: Including the super over  who will win the match?
Interested, count me in.
This would be a fun to have such a pool here. I am not having much bet on cricket these days though.

PS: I hope you guys will not mind me holding the fund? If any hesitation then we can call DarkStar_ to hold the fund for us. Last time he was holding for us.
I guess the pool will not be more than 0.01 BTC which you can be entrusted with unless anyone else have an argument. I have no problem if you hold the fund. Let me know the address, I will send a little amount though.

If Bangladesh can defeat India, why can't we defeat Australia ? Nothing is impossible in this world.
India lost the match because they were lacking of bowlers. What Australia will be lacking of?
1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 04, 2019, 09:01:43 AM
I agree with this^^^

India really did have a whole new kind of bowling lineup- young mostly and inexperienced in terms of international cricket. I also thus feel that despite having Chahal , it would have been best to include someone experienced in fast bowlers like Shami maybe.

I am sure we are going to see a lot of changes in the next T-20 clash.
Although Indians bowling line up wasn't that much experienced, their batting line up was better than Bangladesh. In fact, it was a good batting line up but still failed to got a handful score against poor bowling attack of Bangladesh.
If Krunal could got Mushfiq, there was a chance to win. That was a total mess from him.
There's not much better option in the squad as well. Shardul Thakur may replace Khaleel Ahmed.
1986  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Child Pays for Parent on: November 04, 2019, 08:49:10 AM
Would the fee will change when the mempool is congested? Or will be the same as this.

Or could I still adjust the highest fee as possible? However, that will contradict on the 10 minutes confirmation because of 1mb capacity of mempool. Does it?
Which wallet are you using? I don't know if bitcoin core suggest the required network fee, but in Electrum you can get the recommended fee. If you follow Electrum recommendations, and pay the highest recommended fee, your transaction must be included in the next block which is within 10 minutes.
You also can pay high fee than recommendations, in fact, you can pay as much as you want although that's unnecessary.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VODDs - Frozen account for over 3 weeks. Have they taken all my money? on: November 04, 2019, 02:45:10 AM
Did you mean vodds.com?
They have shared skype support on their announcement topic and you can try with that (if you didn't try that yet).
I had registered their site but never used it.
For your info, I had a long chat with the account vodds.com regarding running a signature campaign. He was very much unprofessional in communication as well.
They seem to be active in Russian announcement topic, you can post a link there and ask vodds.com to respond here. Russian Announcement- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5155995.0
1988  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Generating a paper wallet securely on: November 03, 2019, 05:08:09 PM
I'm considering creating a paper wallet for long time BTC holding. So far, I have known it's risky to generate a paper wallet while I'm connected to internet. Hacker may get access to my private key.
How can I generate a paper wallet in off line, provided that I am using Windows and not thinking of using any other platform like ubunto, I'm not much of a tech guy.
Please suggest me a safe way. I will bury the paper for next 5 years at least, till the 2024 halving.

Sorry if I have posted the topic in wrong section.
1989  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Redeem private key from physical coin on: November 03, 2019, 04:38:15 PM

You can download electrum here  https://electrum.org/#home and once you launch, import the private key, you should see the BTC balance.

good luck!
I think he is looking for the way to redeem the private key from the coin. He still don't have the private key.
OP, you can follow the way to get the private key from here- https://www.casascius.com
If you have it already, you can follow the above statement to get your BTC.
1990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PoW vs PoS (Decentralized) on: November 03, 2019, 02:41:11 PM
POW requires the mining computational power and the difficulty increase it will require more power. So it become out of reach of the normal miners and only those who have mining farms are able to mine it. So with less people mining, the more centralized it gets.

POS is different in a way that you do not need any hashing power but more the coins you own the more benefits you will get in staking. So in this case if you are more wealthy then you can control more the shares which will also supports centralization to some extent.
Aren't both again being same? In PoW, you need expensive mining equipment, leave the BTC mining apart. While in the PoS, you need investment for purchasing coins, you can't get a stake reward with a small amount of course. At the end of the day, both requires big investment.
Still confused  Huh
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2019, 02:20:59 PM
Why Kohli is no playing?
He has been sent rest by BCCI, as per BCCI, he needs mental rest for the upcoming series against WI, as a captain he was in very much pressure.
Coming to the match, India isn't playing as they were expected to. Anyway, Risab Pant is on the pitch, expecting a turn of the match now.
1992  Other / Beginners & Help / Child Pays for Parent on: November 03, 2019, 02:09:00 PM
Doesn't the topic title sound cool?

CPFP- Child Pays for Parent

Imagine, you are selling your artworks through online and accepting bitcoin as payment. You have sold an artwork and received payment with bitcoin. Since the buyer has paid a lower fee, the transaction is stuck on the blockchain, no confirmation yet. What can you do? Ask buyer to send the transaction again with higher fee (RBF)? You may not ask him, or you may not get contacted with him if you need the BTC urgently.

Here's CPFP method to help you out.

When buyer have sent the BTC, your balance is updated with the amount with unconfirmed.
Since you need to send someone or you want to hold the BTC on your another address or since unconfirmed tx is not good, you can follow this method.
Send an amount of BTC (including the unconfirmed input) to another of your address using the maximum fee for being included at the next block. You can get the fee here- https://bitcoinfees.info/
You have paid highest required fee, miners will now give your transaction more priority than others. When they will check, validate and confirm your transaction, they will forcefully include the previous unconfirmed tx from your buyer as well.

So, what's the child and parent things here? When you send BTC, there will always be two terms, one is input(where BTC comes from) and output (where it is heading to). From input, you are creating an output. Input is the parent of the output  Cheesy

Hope it was so easy for you to understand. Don't hesitate to ask a question.

If my explanation was wrong, I request the senior member to correct me. I'm a learner here, not for a long time.

Correction
the biggest problem you will face for using CPFP is when the wallet software that you are using doesn't have the feature to allow you to spend unconfirmed transactions. if it doesn't then you will have to use CPFP with unconventional ways such as creating the transaction yourself and signing through console,....
and usually if the wallet has that option it also has the CPFP option too in which case you should trust that it takes care of fee calculation and suggests the appropriate one (no need to use a website to guess the fees that are in most cases doing a very poor job).
1993  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin Discussion section needs some adjustment on: November 03, 2019, 01:17:57 PM
I am sure this is easier said than done, but could it maybe be possible for an OP to give management rights of a thread to a small group of members so they can use their own teams to manage the threads rather than draining moderator time?
This could effective, although there is a chance of abusing the system? Well, it would be more good than the bad part, same as the report (even your reports are not counted as good, you are still encouraged to report more).

I don't quite agree with with the third suggestion. If a post isn't low value or not for the sake of advertising some website or blog, he/she should shouldn't be punished. The better solution is to PM the user or report to moderator to lock the topic.
PM or reporting to moderator is still available to all of us. But something needs to be changed. Well, if it's not a temporary ban, it can be a temporary ban for creating new topics?
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2019, 07:23:46 AM
No, your calculation is right expect for the fact that there needs to be 5 overs minimum to be ball and luckily Australia could not bat the 5 overs.
Sp, if I put min_over 5 overs, the calculation will be correct? If the value of min_over is lower than 5, an error message will be shown. That's pretty easy. I will create one soon.

Aaron Finch is frustrated on this result and he should be. Pakistan can't lose so easily.  Cheesy
Lol Pakistan is lucky, in fact, very much lucky today.
When last time we watched a full series without the interruption from rain?
Here are the stats of win-lose stats on last 1 year almost.
A vs B- Win B
C vs D- Win rain
A vs C- Win rain
C vs D- Win C
B vs D- Win rain 😜
1995  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which categories do you follow most? on: November 03, 2019, 07:18:34 AM
I always feel good when I visit the Bitcoin Technical Stuff and other related board and their subforum, although I hardly be seen to post there. I read a lot of stuff there, because I'm trying to learn more about bitcoin technically.
Sometimes I visit the gambling section, post if I get something interesting to share and looks around who is betting on whom. Try to get their point and evaluate everything when I place a bet.
Economy is one of my favorite section, it's the one where I can gather a lot of information and knowledge on broader level economy (macro).
These are of my interest but I visit some more other section as well.
1996  Other / Meta / Altcoin Discussion section needs some adjustment on: November 03, 2019, 07:07:58 AM
We all know what's going on there. Repetitive spam, zero value post, low quality etc. This section has been a mess for the actual interested person. I had created a topic with self moderation and I'm now deleting some post which I think was a spam shit post.

What can be done?
I have thought a lot on this, couldn't find a good solution to be adjusted. I found an option which might help the garbage to be removed and have a little better discussion.

1. Enable self-moderation for all topics there- by default (With a notification of the rules and probable punishment.).
2. Create a set of rules for topic creator- must have to delete the spam within a certain time, must have to lock the topic after enough discussion.
3. If topic creator don't follow the rules, a temporary ban will be given. Edited Or some sort of punishment like- topic creator will lose the eligibility of creating new topic for a certain period.

I don't know how much effective it will be but I guess it will create a better place.
Please share you opinion, what else can be done which have not been suggested before. We must have to get out of that tons of mess garbage posts.
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2019, 06:53:28 AM
Do not under estimate Pakistan because rain has started again for our rescue  Smiley
According to DuckWorth Lewis method, if rain doesn't stop, Australia will win the match by 29 runs. If Pakistan had taken 4 wickets, Pakistan would win the match. I don't know if there is any other calculation, I have tried this calculator- http://wicklowcountycricket.com/duckworth-lewis-calculator/

The second innings need to last for a minimum of 5 overs to give a result (from Duckworth-Lewis).
I'm not really aware of this rule, is there any calculator for this? I could combine both the formula into one and could share a free calculator for my cricket buddies here.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 03, 2019, 06:14:01 AM
What do you guys think?
It's pretty easy calculation. Although India is playing with a lot new players, they still have the strong batting line up and they can beat Bangladesh easily. Bangladesh will play with no #SHAKIB, I will be missing him. He is the only player in Bangladesh who could have a good standing against India.

I am not sure if this rain and the reduced overs will favor Pakistan or Australia. At the moment 119 runs target in 15 overs look very achievable for Australia.  Pakistani chances are only dependent on how good they bowl and field to defend this score.
I doubt Pakistan has any chance here, the target is pretty low and Australia will have no hard time to chase this. They need 92 run from 75 balls, Finch is on fire.
1999  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do you think most people reads on the forum?? on: November 02, 2019, 05:24:21 PM
It's because people are posting in threads which is not of his interested area. I'm very much ineterested in bitcoin technical stuff and some other bitcoin related stuff. I spend a lot of time reading these sections, although very few times I have posted something there.
It's never a good idea to post something without reading the topic as well as all the discussion taken place on the topic. But the way signature campaigns are being managed poorly, particularly the altcoin bounty campaign manager, it will be a pain in the ass at the end, I guess someday theymos will consider removing it. It's the only way open now to get out of these low quality posts.
2000  Other / Beginners & Help / PoW vs PoS (Decentralized) on: November 02, 2019, 07:50:47 AM
Both the PoW and PoS system have their own benefits. I don't know much about these, only know what PoW and PoS is and a little of the basic differences.
I didn't understand one difference between these 2, which one is most decentralized? How? Please share how exactly PoW/PoS is the most decentralized.
