1981  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save as food inflation jumps more than 11% in a year on: October 20, 2022, 06:37:45 PM
Mentioned in the above post is a good suggestion. Nowadays rooftop gardening have been popular around, and people find ways to meet their own vegetable needs through it. This can decrease their spending on food and also gives space to spend time in a better way for the house wives/husbands.

In some cases people spend a lot on outdoor plants that are just good for beauty. Rather than spending much on beautifying a place, prioritising production is good.

There is an increase in inflation generally, but some countries are also experiencing flooding issues as a result of poor planning and high population levels. This will be difficult to achieve in some cities where excess water has destroyed a lot of farming spaces and gardens, and some people are even having trouble finding shelter and a place to put their heads despite the hardships here and there.

To reduce all these high demands, we must all farm, it doesn't cost a thing to have a farm in that empty space in your backyard, the governments can also assist by providing access to free advanced mechanical farming and processing, which will free up a lot of labour and encourage people to grow their own food rather than relying too heavily on rural areas for their daily needs.
1982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 13 years ago... on: October 20, 2022, 05:12:52 PM
It is unimaginable to think about the future of crypto-currencies. Because no one knew at the time that Bitcoin would be where it is today. There is no point in regretting it at this time. Bitcoin is a coil that has gone from a very low level to a high level. Many people regret why I didn't invest in Bitcoin. Such regrets only tug at emotions. To regret these things is to labor without interest.

I do question myself sometimes what if in 10 years time bitcoin at this current price would be the same we imagine how it was in 2010 and 2011 when it was still worthless, it made me fear spending the little I have in my wallet, the best we can do is to hold at least to 7 decimals of satoshi even if I can't hold a single bitcoin, that wouldn't hurt my emotion regardless of whatever comes after the years.
I wish I had it coming but we can't really blame ourselves for being late to bitcoin, some African countries that didn't quickly have access to the internet at an early stage were still in the dark even when people were struggling for decentralization in the western world. Nigeria had access to mobile phones in 2001, you had to go to a cafe to use the internet then, not every have the capacity to afford a desktop and laptop then to talk more being exposed to the internet and bitcoin, unlike today when kids all have androids they are all playing around with. Technology limitations affected our early adoption.  Sad
1983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Borrow fiat with your Bitcoin and never sell on: October 20, 2022, 04:51:39 PM
If you do have enough Bitcoin in your possession this might mean you might not need to borrow because I would believe you have had enough to invest in that amount of Bitcoin. Why would you have to borrow when you know you would still be paying interest on the amount you borrowed or maybe you want to invest that cash in another profit-generating investment plus let us not forget that there is nothing wrong with taking profit from what you have invested over time. You can not HODL your Bitcoin investment forever without taking profit for yourself then why have you invested in the first place?

Life is challenging and very complex my dear friend!
Do you remember some time ago when Elon Musk decided to sell some of their Bitcoins? They claimed they needed some liquidity for future expenditure, I don't know how true this claim is but if at all Tesla actually has a platform they can take borrow that from, the bitcoin they sold would have acted as collateral for them because it is something they can pay back in future without selling their bitcoin but the question is, is there any decentralised protocol that can actually lend Tesla that kind of liquidity they needed? There is none and they were also not ready to take any risk with their bitcoin because most of the decentralized protocols that we have are full of shits that get exploited every time.

If you have your bitcoin as an investment and you need some cash as an emergency for short time and you don't have any means, you can always borrow but you have to borrow less amount in a way that your bitcoin will be overcollateralized so that you don't get liquidated in case of a price crash and margin calls.

I am looking the charts of bitcoin to make some trade on it and found a historical turning point on it what you guys are thinking about it check and leave your opinions.

Thanks Smiley Smiley

This should belong to the trading discussion as it fits that board the most, however, you are terrible at chatting and it is very poor my friend.
There is no doubt that bitcoin will experience another bull run in the coming years, but that doesn't mean it will proceed in the same way it did in the past. You shouldn't expect the Chinese government to announce that it intends to ban bitcoin mining and expect the price to crash as it has in the past, only a small number of miners are still active in China the last I check, you also can't expect another corona, it wouldn't occur unless there was a new world war, which most powerful Nations would not be considering right now if it weren't for that obstinate Putin who has been attacking Ukraine, we are far from world war 3.
My little advice, go and improve your technical lessons and do note that history will not reoccur to bitcoin the same it happen in the past but a bull run will always come in every after bitcoin halving.
1985  Economy / Economics / Re: Competition in business on: October 19, 2022, 10:14:57 PM
Competition is an important pointer/indicator on the free market, without competition there is no free market. Best example, planned economy in the USddR, free economy is determined by supply and demand, everything else is not a healthy market. What I like about cryptomarkt - is a healthy and fair competition. And that's a good thing, that's how it should be

Is crypto market actually healthy? I can say for bitcoin, it is healthy and fair to everyone in every part of its protocol, the sender, the receiver, the node validator and even the miners, they are all healthy but I can’t say for some altcoins, they can be free markets but not healthy, the projects are not even fair because ventures have become the suckers of retailers by having a greed allocations because of small seed funding, that’s not healthy and fair in my opinion.

Competition is what improves an environment, it gives everyone the idea to be versatile, this gives us the idea for improvement and no to rely on a single products but is that applicable to crypto, I’m yet to see any project that has overcome bitcoin and have the trust of people like bitcoin, free market doesn’t really apply to crypto space as we see it.
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 19, 2022, 05:14:36 PM
It is a good thing to learn or follow up with the celebrities in sport generally because there's a taught that could be learned from their professional charisma but we must be very careful through which what we learnt from them, take the good and drop the bad ones, negative influence is bad and must not be encouraged at all means, we got some people who has been under follow up with their celebrities and later build their dream from it, we must only be vibrant enough in deciding forbthe good and not the bad characters from whom we follow.

Nobody is arguing that being influenced is bad, but when do you believe a fan should disregard that influence and follow their own judgment? Gambling is just one of the decisions that some people find difficult to make as a result of celebrity influence, as Drake has proved with the recently concluded EL Clasico. This wasn't the first bet Drake has placed and lost, and many of his fans have copied him in the hopes of making Gucci belts out of it. Who knows that it is a condition of agreements signed with stakedotcom to use Drake's name in marketing to sell a few tickets; in reality, Drake didn't lose any money.  Cry

Bayern Munich and Barcelona are two  differen team with different work load. When Lewandowski was in Bayern Munich I don't think the pressure he was facing there can be compared to what is in Barcelona.  Bayern Munich used to be the strongest team in the Bundesliga league,  and with no tough competitors.  If Lewandowski is not doing more in Barcelona I won't blame him because Barcelona is competing with more tough teams than Bayern Munich.

I beg to differ though, Bayern Munich has tough competitors, the readiness of other teams and how they respond to every match against Bayern is subjective to people, just the way people prefer to watch Premier League and Champions League than any other leagues and of course, players also influence the viewers and fans base, just imagine the number of players who became PSG fans because of Messi and Ronaldo when he moves back to Manchester United from Juventus.
The problem with most of the clubs is that they don't even know the potential of these players until they sell them, that's when players switch into beasts that they haven't displayed in their previous clubs, take a look at Lewandoski's moves from Bayern Munich to Barcelona, Haaland from Dortmund to Manchester City.
1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 19, 2022, 04:28:05 PM
I think a lot of fans will be happy if Union Berlin can win the Bundesliga title. Because we are tired of watching Bayern Munich win the title every season. Every season we only see the dominance of Bayern Munich. So we want Bayern Munich's dominance to end, and a new team to win the title. Union Berlin have started the season well. They have occupied the top spot in the table for a long time. They are also 4 points ahead of Munich. Let's see how long Union Berlin can maintain their dominance in the Bundesliga.

I am part of the unhappy fans if that should happen, you can't measure how good something is until it takes time and give you consistent result and that is what Bayern Munich represents. Over the past six or seven years, Union Berlin hardly makes it to the top 4, they either end in Europa or they never even make it all and the problem with most of the rest of the teams that see Bayern as a threat most of the time sign old players who have little or nothing to offer the club in the long run. As for Union Berlin enjoying the top for now, they should while it last because the rightful people are coming to take the place.
Dortmund are even more of a disappointment since they sold their Haaland for a piece of cake last season and now they are struggling and dangling to win common Union Berlin.  Embarrassed

Manchester united vs Tottenham match is today, and Tottenham are very ready to demonstrate their new skills to beat Manchester united 4-1. Since Manchester united are still facing the challenge of strikers in this season, it will be difficult for their strikers to score goals from this match like the way they scored goals that gave them victory in their last match. I don't think, Manchester united coach will use cristiano Ronaldo to play first half in this match, because cristiano Ronaldo find it difficult to achieve a single goal from their last match despite the opportunity given to him in the first half.
I hope manchester united can be equal with totentham or even beating that club just like when it was beating arsenal. Just because totenham was at the top standing of EPL and you were underestimating manchester united. It can give you a surprise to beat totenham in this match. This is a very interesting match for us. There's no need to make goal as long as MU can win against it

If Manchester United wins at Tottenham, they will have three points and tight legs with Chelsea. However, they will still be behind because, based on the current situation, Chelsea has a goal difference of +5 while Manchester United has -2, meaning they need more goals to be far ahead of Chelsea. However, if they can win more games, it will be good for them. What I now fear most is that even if Manchester United defeats Tottenham tonight and earns a total of 19 points, their next game will be another London Derby, which, as you well know, is usually exciting and won't be simple for either team.

Would you be influenced by your favourite Celebrity who you know gambles and one day happens to post the games he played, would you be influenced to play the same game
Actually I can be influenced in some of his life style but not in gambling. He is a professional in singing, not in gambling, this will make me not play the same game with my favorite celebrity because I know that I might lose. I know of a case that this guy is always forecasting numbers and winning, also predicting matches too,so every morning so many persons will go to him to forecast the day game for them or they play same game. It was working initially that I was also tempted to get numbers and scores him but I said no,that day his prediction was wrong and so many persons lost with him. To my surprise the game turned around to favour me so since then I learnt to always believe in yourself not someone when gambling because our lucks differ.

If you can be influenced by a celebrity, I think it will very easier for them to persuade you to do what they do, that is one of the effects of being influenced, you will want to do what they do in replicating their lifestyles, you want to wear the same brands even if are fake ones just to mimic them, you do them without seeing the bad side of it but in this case, losing bets.
Let me use Elon Musk as another example, Elon has achieved that state of wealth where he gets people to do what he wishes in a matter of minutes, just like 4 days ago, he sold out about $2 million worth of burnt hair perfume with a single tweet, the sells might increase as I am writing this and that is what the power of been influenced can do.

CONGRATULATIONS TO KARIMBENZEMA [Ballon D'or 2022]

Karim Benzema has just been announced the Ballon D'or winner 2022. The award was presented to him by his fellow country man and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane.
Award well deserved. Last Champions league, Madrid wasn't a strong contender but Benzema with his wonder performance pushed them to finals eliminating strong Psg, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Well deserved, Benzema actually deserves it, after Benzema was un-stoppable and after Ronaldo left Madrid it actually took some time for Madrid  to perform well, who would have believed that Madrid will be the winner of champions league but Benzema actually brought light to Real Madrid, it was very challenging for them to have played a lot of tough clubs  as mentioned especially psg and mancity does clubs are challenging clubs to play with but they played well, congrats to the big Benz ones again more wins.

Benzema was the heart of Real Madrid throughout the entire season of 2022, the striker that remove PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea, they literally eliminate worship clubs and they did it in a manner that attracted attention in a marvellous way, having an aggregate in extra minutes when you have conceded 3 goals are one of the rare things that happen in football but Benzema help Real Madrid out in most of their challenging times and to top it up, he had the highest goal in during the season. When it is your time, you will shine and above all his last statement when he received the award made me happy, "I will retire in Madrid"  Kiss

Villarreal 2-0 Osasuna, I don't know if the number of people that watched that match is lesser or even lesser than the ones that followed the Ballon d'Or ceremony Tongue
Villarreal is a good team and Osasuna could make surprises. Instable teams are the worst ones to be able to predict and this is exactly what Villarreal done today.

When I saw yesterday's match between Osasuna and Villarreal, I thought it was a skipped match that had been rescheduled, but it turned out to be a round 9 match. I was wondering why the management would schedule a match on a big event day like Ballon D'or, they wouldn't think a second time if it had been premier teams, perhaps they don't anticipate much from both teams.

Villarreal has been a sleeping giant this season, perhaps they are trying to repeat what they did last season which I don't think is a good idea, they were among the underrated teams that were giving top teams nightmares at the end of the season even though they did not finish in the top four last season, they performed well at the end.

For the first time Haaland has failed to make a contribution in the game, this only shows that he is human after all lol. Klopp indeed is a world class coach and his ability to read games so well baffles me. I must admit the goal Foden scored got be scared and frowning because I was supporting Liverpool, thank God the goal was disallowed and Liverpool got an opportunity to take lead.

I think, Liverpool defenders really planned well for the match never to allow Haaland to achieve any goal from the match, and through out the match Haaland did not achieved any goal. Many small teams has defeated Liverpool or draw match with Liverpool but they never allow such thing to happen to them than to used their new tactics to defeated Manchester city 1-0 for the favour of Liverpool. If Liverpool can maintain this tactics they used to achieved victory from mighty Manchester city to play other matches, I think it will really help them to improve higher before the end of this tournament.

I think Liverpool isn't really happy with their past performances, it was all written on Klopp's face with the little drama that led him to get a red card during their match against Manchester City but people weren't saying anything about the quack Job ref did that day, it was poor in my opinion. However,  I have noticed the consistency of win or draw anytime Liverpool has a match in Anfield, they don't allow defeats in most of their matches.

1 draw and 1 loss and 3 Win from the last 5 matches is average and not a bad one I must confess, if Liverpool can have 3 win matches that can aggregate 9 points, they can easily make it to the top 4 under ideal conditions but would that be possible, West Ham, Nottingham and Leeds United shouldn't be that tough to conquer.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 18, 2022, 08:11:46 AM
Would you be influenced by your favourite Celebrity who you know gambles and one day happens to post the games he played, would you be influenced to play the same game?

I am bringing up this because a popular Canadian musician Drake posted the games he played today on Stake,

Many of his fans who are into gambling as well, may have played same game without thinking. As it turns out, the game did not go as predicted for him and his bet lost.

A celebrity is just a regular guy who is more famous than I am, why should I have believed his predictions because he said so? I am wagering with my own money, not any free money, it would be silly for me to do so. These are not the regular types of minor leagues or matches one will assume he may fix since the amount he bet is eye-catching, this is Premier League we are talking about and also one of the greatest Spanish Leagues(El Clasico), so anything you don't expect may happen.

Arsenal was a sure bet that they would win, if not for the technical problems they encountered, they would have defeated Leeds United more by a large margin of goals but why bet on El Clasico and think Barcelona is going to win when Real Madrid is also prepared and even the records show that Madrid has the highest winnings? Maybe the influence of a fan affected him and waste money.
1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 16, 2022, 08:34:12 PM
There is no way Barcelona could have won against =eal Madrid and to some point, I still believe that Real Madrid could have scored more goals but 3 goals to 1 is still a manageable score and that goes a long way to show how Real Madrid is undefeated in this season.
Actually Real Madrid have a complete team for this year. There are so many Real Madrid strikers, if one of them is injured, then there are other players as substitutes. In the last few weeks when Karim Benzema was injured, Rodrygo and Asensio could replace him. In addition, the performance of Real Madrid's players was very good against Barca in today's match. If we look at the average player performance of 7.0

I like Rudiger's dedication, I can't believe that despite having a scar on his face, he showed up as a backup in case of an emergency, which did occur. Benzema's substitution even helped to clear the way when Rodrigo was replaced and earned a penalty that made Madrid 3-1.

Quote
Carlo is an experienced coach compared to Xavi. We can see substitutions are always at the end or after the opponent's substitutions are made. So that Carlo can replace it with an equivalent. And Carlo really believes in the ability of young players.

If there is one unique trait I admire about Ancelotti as a manager, it is that he doesn't substitute anyhow players because doing so would alter the frequency of the match. Not all substituted players understand how to stabilize their position after a change with the players on the field, frequently, they either fail to correct the mistake the coach directed them to correct or make it worse, which aggravates the starters even more. However, Xavi consistently switches out the bench players with pressure though Ferran Torres substituted did his job.

Greed in human increase exponentially as soon as money is involved or see one, gambling is luck and skill combined but sometimes you don't even apply the skill that much, somedays just shine at you and you win what you don't even expect and when that happens, if you don't control the greed in you, you may forget the principle that made you wager an initial bet and thus, continuously playing until you lose everything you have the whole day.
I have been there and not just slots alone, I have won an amount that will literally change my week if not weeks on a virtual game but greed didn't allow look at the good side of what I had won that time and a couple of bad advice from people, instead of walking away, I tried wagering the remaining in the hope of getting back some of the loses before leaving the booky shop, that was how I went home without any significant payout on me. It was a sad experience but that was in the past during horrible gambling days, more smarter now.  Kiss

A very impressive victory for Liverpool thanks to a single goal from M.Salah this became a Liverpool victory that was quite awaited as a Liverpool fan.

The odds have been pretty big because I believe that Liverpool will win at Anfield.

In the game Manchester City did dominate but Liverpool's defense was strong enough until in the end Alisson's kick ball that led to M.Salah which became the only chance for a goal to be created while the Manchester City defender lost his concentration slightly so that M.Salah escaped from his guard, this is enough to prove Liverpool will slowly rise a little bit because Klopp is making efforts for it to be more aggressive.

I think Manchester City's confidence was overhyped that's why they failed to get victory in Anfield. The whole chat of Liverpool against Machester city post-match was all pointing to Liverpool losing but see what happened in the end, indeed football is full of a surprise, though my conscience was telling me no stake in this match because this is the kind of match that do rekt the rest of the stake games.

I like Liverpool's recent performance, but don't you think they still have some work to do? 8th place is still outside the top 4, and the teams above them aren't the kind to want to give up either. If Liverpool can keep up their recent performance over the next two weeks, they will rise sooner than expected.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 16, 2022, 03:14:24 PM
Manchester United's performance was not bad. However, they could not score. The match was a goalless draw. I expected a better performance from United's players. Ten Hag gave Ronaldo a chance to perform. Had Ronaldo scored a goal in today's match or helped United get 3 points, Ten Hag would have offered Ronaldo a permanent place in the United squad. But Ronaldo could not play well. Despite several good attacks, Manchester United were unable to score any goals. However, United's defense was very organized today.

You made it as if you are pointing fingers which is not supposed to be, of what good does Ronaldo substitution with Rashford bring to the match, it was still the way they started the match. Newcastle are good and I was impressed by their defense, the coach knew every Manchester united moves and was ready for them, they would rather draw with Manchester united than concede defeat in St.James park.

I expected Manchester United to beat every small club, they should learn from Manchester City system, use small clubs to gain points and fight hard when it comes to big team matches but Manchester United is doing the opposite.

barely 12 minutes into the El classico Benzema and his men decided to score a goal against Barcelona. They want to make this match not to look like El classico. I'm not a fan of this early goal I want this El clasico to be very competitive and entertaining, not what we witnessed the last time.

It is El Classico to the fans but that doesn’t change the aim of the players, that was a fantastic goal from Benzema, this may not make him pass Lewandowski in highest goal scorer yet but I think Real Madrid will have a face to show that they are the best in Spain in the coming days of Balon D'or.

Whoever gave Real Madrid the idea to sign Vinicius see future of Spain, that guy seems to be the best winger they have currently, he play with caution, speed and always deliver in every of his assists.
2000  Economy / Economics / Re: Business failure among small-scale entrepreneurs on: October 14, 2022, 09:30:36 AM
To become a successful entrepreneur, of course, requires a process and has failed a lot, the big entrepreneur we see today is successful when he tells it, he will say that he has experienced many failures and is almost desperate because of bankruptcy and so on, but with enthusiasm and learning from mistakes they can success.
Those who are successful now have failed in the past, but I don't think there is a need for too many failures, because when there are more failures in an entrepreneur, he will get worse and take longer to get back up. The success of an entrepreneur is also due to long hard work and never give up and what don't forget is his experience in the field he is in.
Because when he had failed once or twice in his attempts, the third time would definitely not fail again because he already knew where the fault lies in the past which caused him to fail.

You can still work your ass up but you fail as an entrepreneur! Do you know what kills any business faster than others, it is the government and policy. I have seen so many micro, small and medium enterprises get shut down due to government change in their policy, it is not favouring business people and they are also not helping them, I'm even surprised that there is a fund allocated to support these MSME and the rate at which they are all closing down seem to be unappealing.

Among the top business listed by OP, the Gomyway reasons mentioned may not be the main reason why it was shut down, the government could also be among them because a similar business like Gokada has been shut down in the country and even OPay that are into transportation, and what pains me the most is that they don't take quick decisions on their launch, it is always when it has become successful.
