Award well deserved. Last Champions league, Madrid wasn't a strong contender but Benzema with his wonder performance pushed them to finals eliminating strong Psg, Chelsea and Manchester City.

For me, Karim Benzema really deserved this award, for being the face and force of Real Madrid in giving his all to the game he truly deserves it, well the award is one thing and I think this is the list Rank 10 of the Ballon d'Or 2022

They are still a young team, which explains their current situation. Barcelona haven't stabilised yet and progressing with such a situation is difficult. Barca fans may feel uncertain about this team, especially if they look at Barca back-line.

Their problem is that they haven't found Pique's replacement. Pique is already 35 years old and his physique has declined. Even Pique always has a hard time facing a striker who can run quickly. I think Xavi should start thinking about the central defender. I think he should be brave to start the rotation,for example by installing Kounde as the starting line up. Because Xavi is carrying a mission of improvement and he deserves to give more playing time to the younger defenders.

If not for the current number of injury cases I don't think Pique would be starting for Xavi team. He is aged and a little sluggish now which is noticed when he plays and playing against an attack with good and skillful players with good pace what would you expect from Pique? This is something that is appropriate because regardless of the names in the top 10, Benzema is indeed one of the best there.
Being a champion in the Champions League and mastering La Liga last season clearly makes Benzema deserve to be in the top row, especially with his individual achievements by being the Top Scorer, adding to his eligibility for Benzema.

Until the last sentence, I could not understand what the "sweet revenge" would be for  Barcelona is a stable supplier of points for Bayern and if the management of Bayern chose which to let Inter or Barcelona in the playoffs, then I'm sure they would choose Barcelona as a victory over them seems more reliable than over Inter. But the situation with Lewandowski completely changes the case, I agree. Bayern go further, and Lewandowski without Bayern goes only to the Europa League - sounds very mocking!

I think it is a deserved title for Benzema especially this photo brought up here and in many football pages in social media where he is the last in that Real Madrid time and after all the other players have moved away it was his time to shine.Of course mostly this prestigious title goes to some player who has won the Champions League and I think this was the factor that weighted in the jury decision without removing anything to Benzema.

I don't expect controversy on the Ballon d'Or award bestowed on Benzema, the guy truly deserves it. This is unlike the last one that was given to Messi that's plainly underserving by many people including me. Lewandowski missed the chance last year, that's his luck, and Benzema/Real Madrid outshines him and his present club, which is part of the points they would have used in choosing him. Next year is there, the guy as a new transfer to Barca, still has a chance to win the award with his present performance. He should try on the Polish side too as this is the year of the world cup.
