1981  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question about casino, sports bet on: June 02, 2023, 11:17:46 AM
Is there a difference of information on App and URL?

By saying app I believe you mean application and to the best of my knowledge, applications are downloaded to be installed on Android phones which we could be able to access and it has all mechanisms built in it to help it work. However, it can only be fully accessed when installed and the applications are of various types based on mobile adaptability while URL has to do with websites that you can easily use for browsing the internet.  Every device likely has a URL bar on them for internet browsing and as such, is compatible and durable for internet activities.

You can further learn about it here;

1982  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How do you preach about bitcoin on: June 02, 2023, 07:51:29 AM
(whether it been a means of payment or as an investment)? .
Bitcoin has never be been a payment method but an investment. All those who see bitcoin as an illegal coin or business will get themselves to be blame and will regret in the nearest future.

You are wrong; Bitcoin was created for micropayments and peer-to-peer transactions without the use of a third party; it is not an investment scheme, but rather a store of value. The price fluctuation generates some profit, but it is not an investment scheme.

I dey reason if this paddy man know him cappings. Make him no go Yan this thing for global board o or else Dem go finish am there.  One of the major reasons why Satoshi Nakamoto invented bitcoin na because of payment so that everybody fit use bitcoin do payment for goods and services wey Dem dey render but as e be, whales Dem hijacked the process at the early stage make early adopters sell their own bitcoin so that them go buy all of them as soon as them succeed am them turn am into in business parol for investment wey come make this new bitcoin generation think say bitcoin na for investment but no be so. Bitcoin na digital money wey person fit take do p2p, trade and make payment as well.
1983  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Off Topic child board. on: June 02, 2023, 07:28:39 AM
Off-topic child board no go solve the issue of spam for this local board, child board fit even make am worse because some of our Nigerian users fit leave main board go base for off-topic child board they post as they like, you know say many people they erroneously see off-topic boards as a place for spam. E get some threads wey i dey see for our board wey dey too unnecessary, and e make me conclude say some people no sabi use online forum, because e get some matter wey person no suppose carry enter here. Make we leave am as e dey now, na local moderator for sure pass, if spam posts are deleted quickly, e sure me say people go stop to they make spam posts.
exactly and the only thing im fit do be say, im go separate the shitpost thread from the bitcoin discussion topicz. It will not be like dis again where dem dey compiled everything in won place. And it is even better if dem go post for off topic and leaving di main board. All di 2 nai good to get. Both di moderator and boards so everything go dey nice and well arrange.
This one go make sense because for we to get moderator, e go make our local board dey coordinated and organized and e go make our brodas and sistas for here dey do well here. I know say once we get moderator, shitpost and spam go reduce well that one go make everybody for our local board dey up and doing to avoid unnecessary spamming or otherwise.
I just think say the moderator application go dey better for now compared to the childboard because if we get moderator now the board go clean and e go make members measure up to dey do the right thing and shitposting go reduce.
1984  Economy / Gambling / Re: Question about casino, sports bet on: June 01, 2023, 10:56:05 PM
I took my time to glance through the replies here and i must say the response are accurate. To the best of my knowledge, google has not casino app on their site as all been removed which a poster already said but you can get the casino apps from the casino websites if you care s some casino do have their own gambling app.

2. 1xBit

I was wondering if this poster is new to  this platform. Mentioning the name 1xbit is a kind of irritating as they have done more harm than good. There have been lots of complaints abut them here about them and virtually all their campaign participants have been flagged including their campaign manger and representative. Any member here promoting them automatically gets a red flag and here you are listing them. would it not have been better you never mention them on the list  than doing such and having all these backlash.
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 01, 2023, 09:00:05 PM
I think OP is trying to talk about his dads gratuity money which would be given to him after his final day of service. Investment is not  a bad idea though and building a house is never a bad one too. As it seems that is a huge bulk of money coming your way it would be wise to channeling it into an investment that would generate profit in the long run or bit by bit as time passes by. I would advise you diversify when investing. You can invest in bitcoin but you should know how volatile and risky it is and if investing should be a long term investment so as to take time yield profit for you but you should not put all the funds at a particular spot remember that it is not wise to put all your egg in one basket. Wisdom demands that you use the  funds wisely while investing so as not to go through ant financial hardship.
1986  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duelbits, $500,000 scam alert. on: June 01, 2023, 12:18:22 PM
OP it is unfortunate you are having all these night mares as  i can see the figure mentioned by you is quite voluminous and i also believe it is likely amongst the reasons why they are taking their time to conduct their due diligence because no one would want to be at the losing end when it happens that there are sketchy traces involved in such transaction. However, I will urge you to be calm and patient to hearing from them  to knowing why they  had taken such  actions against you. Come to talk of it, the casino in question is a well known casino with good reputation onboard this platform. So i have no doubt about their system and how it works but be rest assured that your funds will be given to you after the investigation is conducted and there are no faults on your path.
1987  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: June 01, 2023, 11:36:28 AM
Sometimes not planning for your money can be or should I say is a factor to why people stay poor. Another is the poor lack the right mindset to manage money or even making the little they have to expand in terms of investing on it. Overspending leaves people poor even when their income put them above the poverty line, they can't really help but act according to how low their mentality is while using money for themselves. Ones they (poor people) are surrounded by people who have nothing productive to offer they can't see that they're not moving in the right path, bad energy kills bright ideas.

No doubt the fact that poor planning and financial mismanagement result in financial instability in one's life and society as a whole. Even in government, it is so that is why you see the government passing a bill and making a budget so as to meet up with their financial demand in other to deliver the dividend of democracy. As an individual, one needs to plan beforehand so as to avoid unnecessary expenses and waste as this has been the issue faced by many. Instead of wasting, channeling the funds to a meaningful investment would be welcoming upon acquiring knowledge with respect to the particular business one wants to go into. This will help to cusion the level of poverty in the society.
Basically ideally like that but now there are still many people who do not attach importance to planning in their finances,
it's time we all realize the importance of it,
using money wisely in terms of spending it will be very helpful.

Of a truth many people do not attach importance to planning and when they get a poor result, they start blaming people and badluck around them while forgetting that they had enough space and time to plan and prepared for the time ahead of them. I remember they sayings that says " Proper preparation prevent poor performance". This is applicable to all field and works of life and "when you fail to plan, you plan to fail" this is the reality of the society now. Most people do not want to really look into that what they think is that tomorrow would take care of itself forgetting that they are the ones to make it take care by keeping and doing things the right way.
1988  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 01, 2023, 11:18:24 AM
Depends on which site you're submitting your KYC info to. Most of the time, casinos that are requesting these information are already registered and in contact with the government, so at least you know that you will have something to chase whenever something goes wrong. I wouldn't really trust these platforms 100% though, as there is always a risk of leaked information even though they themselves are not the ones leaking the information in the first place. Perhaps just pass the basic KYC and that's it.

I agree with you mate there is always the possibility of information leak through the casino or not definitely, when the government demands the identity of their registered members, they would never say no because they are under their jurisdiction so they would and must give it to them otherwise they stand the chance of losing their license. Most times, information leaks are not just what we think they are, possibly, there must be an investigation n or about account activities which would further bring that account holder under watch by the government through the casino. That is why most or sometimes you hear an account holder complains of the account being suspended /blocked and funds seized without any response and sometimes you do not hear from the account holder again.
1989  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinzino.io closes accounts and takes money from players for no reason on: June 01, 2023, 10:48:54 AM
after signing i have deposited money to coinzino.io to play the first few times i withdraw is ok but after the 3rd time i have deposited and played after winning i withdraw then they closed the account and sent an email saying suspect me of violation waiting for them to investigate. after 5 days I still have not received a response from the email, then I texted the support chat on the homepage, they said I was in violation and the account was closed and can't be reopened, I asked what violation I did and asked by proof they don't answer maybe they want to take away more than 3000$ in my account

Let's first make it clear this way, if a casino is not a scam one and is trusted to deliver upto expectations base on the level of reputation they had and years of experience, a right mind thinking casino cannot just pause and disabled your account for no reason, also look it from this channel maybe you truly violated their rules, why not first go back to their ToS and read their policy again, then am not sure if this casino have their representative on this forum which is why one must look into the deep history of the casino before using them.

Coinzino are fully represented here and here is a link to their profile   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3507977. With respect to a gambler defaulting their terms and conditions, be it known or unknown to the gambler, the casino must reply to the gambler letting them know of their offense and  citing the offense as captured in their terms and conditions of services this we can be rest assured
that the casino is being fair on their judgement and if there must be a bargain, it would start from there while the consciousness of gambler is already awaken to their offense. Since they had no  evidence against OP they had to return the payment in full https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5454469.msg62332902#msg62332902 and it was confirmed by OP https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5454469.msg62336041#msg62336041 but what we are still wondering is they have not disclose the transaction hash for us to see if truly what they have told us is the reality.
1990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am a newbie on: June 01, 2023, 08:45:12 AM
From the looks mate other members have furnished you with possible information you require to keep yourself updated with activities and happenings onboard this platform and bitcoin as a whole. So I would advise you do not only rely on those information, learn to do your own research too so that if there are any possible activities that looks suspicious you can be able to note them and avoid them and also you can report them here for us to know. As a newbie, you can also contribute to the platform from those research knowledge you have gotten so we too can be able to learn from you.
Haven said all these together with others it is believed you have been able to get response that are tangible and meaningful to working with so in that case it would be nice you further lock this thread to avoid spamming.

1992  Economy / Services / Re: I Edit Any kind of file on: June 01, 2023, 01:06:13 AM
OP you have been earlier advised to be specific in the files you can conveniently work on so as not cast any doubt with respect to your services. As i see not mentioning specific areas are signs of lapses though and your update or introduction is kind of empty rather. It would be in your own best interest to do as you have been advised so that members here willing to engage your services would not be much bothered about wanting to go through the stress of detailing or specially putting up things to do.

Do you not have past work or portfolio to present so we could see your past records and performance because that would give you  a good edge and stand on this platform if you must scale through.
1993  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: coinzino.io closes accounts and takes money from players for no reason on: May 31, 2023, 04:32:00 PM
This case checks all the necessary criteria for the typical "new casino scams a gambler" horror story.
1.The casino is small and relatively new(I have never heard about coinzino.io before).
2.The gambler deposits a relatively big amount of money(3000 USD is a big amount).
3.The casino finds a BS excuse to blame the gambler for fraud and legally steal his money(or customer support is simply lying).
The question here is, why do gamblers keep depositing big amount of money to relatively new and untrusted online casinos? Is it because of the big bonuses or is it something else? OP, can't you just deposit 10USD and play for fun? What's the point of depositing big amounts of money? Greed? Gambling addiction?

Afaik, He didn't deposit 3000$ but rather his account contains 3000$ now after his 3rd time deposit and win. Probably he deposit less amount than that and just manage to turn it to 3000$ when he make the withdrawal. He mention that he keeps withdrawing until that 3rd time which means he is on winning streak that triggers casino investigation.

I’m not siding with casino here but most of the cases like this that newbie magically turn small amount to 3 grand or more always involves cheating on the casino games. The casino is relative new which is always being target by abusers since they knew it has a weak reputation.

Secondly, the casino from the beginning of the conversation especially the customer care you contacted has no clues of your offense meaning he or she is not I the know of what really happened and has refused to make further inquiries and it is likely they have refused giving out the information to the customer care so as to communicate you properly.

Security team is the one handling the account investigation while the support just forward information to the customer. It's normal that live support is not aware on his issue initially.

It is true that the security team is responsible for account investigation and should have been able to forward his  offense or fault to customer care to have him know what wrong he committed to warrant his account being blocked or suspended as the case maybe but here we have a customer care that should have been briefed after contacting the security but seems they did not give the customer care any hint of what happened do hence the cluelessness of the customer care service to update him on his offense. Looking at the chat you could tell even after some days interval still yet the customer care could not do update him of his offense.
1994  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: May 30, 2023, 06:31:17 PM
I think the KYC data is safe on trusted gambling sites because they will use that data for knowing the customer rather than sharing it with other groups or other sites. The KYC is mostly needed for the safety purposes because the sites don't want to be flooded by the army of bots, and that's why they verify the customer originality. Unfortunately, these days people have been generating very original faces with the help of AI.

First of all, KYC is not safe both on trusted and non trusted gambling sites. Yes, we know that our data is more vulnerable on non -trusted new gambling sites but what is the grantee that the old trusted gambling site will secure our KYC data. Apart from the leakage of data, there can be situation where the casino or the employee of casino may misuse the data and we would never know about it.

Secondly with the help of AI, you may develop original faces but it will be hard to produce all the fake documents with AI. Secondly the casino needs to become smart these days. Instead of making gamblers to upload their pictures why not force them to take their online picture by taking real time picture from camera. This way, the use of AI will be almost impossible to produce a live fake picture or video.

The only time  KYC data can be compromised when the hackers get access to the database of the website, and they successfully dump that database into their own hard drive. That way the KYC details will be known by third parties because those hackers might sell the database for money. But, that doesn't mean that all sites can be compromised because most of the trusted sites have good security to stop such hackers from hacking their databases.

Hacking is another thing and if the database of KYC is hacked, there is nothing we may do but at least the gambling site will publish the news of this hack and we will be mentally aware that our data is hacked, and we should be cautions. However, in case casino keep selling our data to the third party without our knowledge there is nothing we can do about this.

The issue of kyc safety is what bothers alot. Many third parties do not really regard their clients they joke virtually with everything jeopardizing the identities of their clients. Some go as far as leaking details and when it comes to business they may likely not say no to protect their members but come up with plans to selling people's identities to third parties which is not welcoming.

I have no doubt many data and information of customers have been misused by their service providers without their consent and this has made me start believing that truly they do such as I have a particular email I registered with an exchange with. I have not used that email for anything before be it social media or whatsoever but I keep receiving unsolicited mails I never registered for so I asked myself how did all these come about?
These are the issues with third parties and kyc safety. One does not have any safety once you have undergone kyc process or procedures.
1995  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How do you preach about bitcoin on: May 30, 2023, 04:33:53 PM
OP, currently in the city, people are fully aware of bitcoin even the aboki suya man now knows about bitcoin what I believe is that people are just afraid of getting scammed of their hard earned resources so they do not try it and as a result of their previous experience with Ponzi schemes which brought them down to nearly square one.
Some even too are afraid of the CBN ban on banks for Crypto related transactions and hence desist from associating themselves with bitcoin or anything related to Crypto for the time being but I had to let them know about the major Claus as regards the bank ban on Crypto transaction but they insist since government don talk Dem don talk say Dem no want anything way go make efcc or other government agencies come after them.
Na so the mata take be now but I never stop talking to my friends of bitcoin and other developments as regards to bitcoin and Crypto even when I meet with new friends I do give them small time before I tell them about bitcoin. Nobody in my circle that does not know about bitcoin.
1996  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Patricia breached, bitcoin and naira stolen. on: May 30, 2023, 04:17:14 PM

I used that exchange a couple of times to exchange my Bitcoin into naira, but that was a long time ago as I found out that there have some practices that aid more centralization and third-party staff involvement in key features which I see as a security risk and I avoided the exchange.

Apart from exchanging my Bitcoin to naira I never used Patricia to trade in other coins, and I was not surprised when I got the email of withdrawal disable due to security threats but the emails mentioned that customers' funds were affected by the attack.

Omo I feel say these stuff na settings o. See the way e take start from suspending of withdrawals to possible hack. Na so e dey take dey o. These guys don japa with people alawee o.  Na these kind things dey attract government into putting policies wey go dey reveal identity of people for Crypto wey no go well. I dey even wonder if our government go put eye into this matter to see how Dem go take resolve am possibly go after the hackers if Dem get any track or trace of activities as regards the funds movement. That one fit make sense Wella.
1997  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: May 30, 2023, 03:46:17 PM
In the first place, kyc was never the plan of blockchain and bitcoin. Bitcoin operates on the pseudo anonymous ways which means that there is no need for KYC but as time passes, government brought up a policy for third parties involved in bitcoin transaction to foster kyc plans so as to keep track of individual account transactions for possible observations and immediate actions as a result of the way blockchain operates and since then, kyc has been a regular thing in the space which is not welcoming. As for me, kyc is not really safe on blockchain or gambling sites because when there is a possible hack, information and Data of members are stolen and sold and most times, third parties obviously do that which is not welcoming.

So in respect to wether kyc is safe on gambling site is up to you to decide wether to choose a kyc gambling site to gamble with or not.
1998  Economy / Economics / Re: Will chatgpt really destroy the job market? on: May 30, 2023, 03:12:25 PM
OP, I really do not think chatgpt would destroy the labour market. What I just think is that it would make workers lousy and dull in fast thinking as it used to be. Chatgpt rather makes work more easier and faster in response and generating of solutions to urgent quests at hand which seems rather difficult but my fear is that humans now will solely depend on it for response and put which is not welcoming although it can generate solutions but it can not do muscular activities like humans. So I see no way it can destroy the labour market other than rendering solutions to pressuring situations.

For the time I have been here, I must say that I have refreshed my bitcoin memory alot in doing research as I am one and a researcher as well. This forum has exposed me to lots of bitcoin events both past and present. The knowledge gained, the ideas, contributions and lots of other activities I have engaged myself in with respect to bitcoin and bitcointalk forum.

When we talk of experience and other aspect we should also remember to talk of the work too. Atleast that is a good one here too this platform has done a lot to salvage many people here. We should appreciate this platform for that as well. It is not an easy one for this platform to create good working atmosphere for her members. It is worth saying because I too have been a beneficiary too.
