1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: June 17, 2023, 03:43:33 PM
Al-Nassr is reportedly interested in bringing in two Chelsea players namely Hakim Ziyech and Aubameyang. It seems that Al-Nassr is not quite satisfied after successfully bringing in Ronaldo last season. Al-Nassr really wants a star-studded squad starting next season and they don't hesitate to shell out huge sums of money to give these European players fantastic wages per season. Currently negotiations are underway according to Fabrizio Romano and we are still waiting for clarity on the offer made by Al-Nassr from salary to how many season contracts for the two Chelsea players.

I believe that the Saudi clubs know what they are doing, they want to pump their funds into football and make their league very interesting and have the whole world attention on them. They have started buying more players from different strong clubs to make their league noticeable and competitive.

They have all the money to buy any player that they want but they first started with buying Ronaldo as to make other players have the thought of joining this superstar over their with good offer. I am not surprised at this news because I am still expecting more quality players to go to SPL.
1982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Lender Abra Has Been Insolvent for Months on: June 17, 2023, 03:29:22 PM
The problem with people who keep their asset for more profit is greed. They are too greedy that they allow it to take over their senses. If not you know that a crypto lender platform can do away with your funds whenever they like and come up with the name of running out of liquidation.

It is always said that a centralized platform can't be trusted, because of their dubious act. They deceive you to safe your crypto in their platform and entice you with big interest, unknown to users that it is a way to scam them of their asset. Such companies are attracting the government to regulate crypto because of these actions.
1983  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: June 17, 2023, 03:04:45 PM
I don't see it as gambling though, I see it as a test to myself, on how tough I will be on this kind of games. So I just started with a short term goal and then work my way up to a year and then now I'm confident of my capacity and mental strength to continue to accumulate although there were moments last year wherein I need to sell some stash because of the death of my sister.

Nevertheless, I was not deter, after that I continue to have plans and execute my strategy and I would say that I'm doing fairly good right or at least have the confidence now to be a bitcoin HODLer. And I'm trying to get to 52 weeks or even higher.
That's very extraordinary, you have succeeded in instilling a belief that is strong enough and full of determination to carry out the investment you are making. Indeed, all of these twists and turns are quite difficult and full of challenges, but the level of confidence or experience that we have learned in previous years can be used as a strong reference to start here, namely buying and holding through each strategy. Indeed, I myself also feel a sense of boredom, but I have to get rid of that to achieve my target of buying btc every week and that is one of my targets in the long term.

On the other hand you have reached 52 weeks in the buying stage and that is quite an interesting milestone and I think you will get used to it and there will be no more burden to keep buying and buying. I myself, for now, have probably just entered the 17th purchase stage and even then I do it routinely every week. Well hopefully our dream can be achieved to have 1 btc and it will motivate us to keep buying and buying.

You've been a forum member since 2016 ginsan.. so are saying that since sometime around then, you have gone through 17 stages in which you had been weekly buying BTC on the dip.. (or what you perceive to have been a dip)?  That buying on dips like that works better than if you had just followed a strict DCA?

If I understand you correctly, you are DCAing within a buying on dip approach... in order to attempt to get more bang for your buck with your DCAs.

A very strict DCA of $10 per week for the past 6 years would have gotten you real close to 1 BTC.. and you would have invested $3,660.

Did you do better than that in your trying to time your buying BTC on dips rather than just consistently buying on a weekly basis in order to attempt to reach your 1 BTC goal? and presumptively you would like to continue to accumulate BTC even after you achieve 1 BTC.
Sorry to explain off topic. Several times i have held more than 5 btc at the same time i sold it and at the same time i did not hold it long term. And only this time I realized that the decision to sell in the past was the worst decision I had ever made.  Maybe it's a bit stupid but that's my experience and I learned to go back to accumulate with DCA since I visited this thread and don't plan to sell again because I've learned from many mistakes that I've done in the past.

Indeed, that's what I said, I just started and hope for a lot of positive support, be it financially or otherwise, because it can make me more enthusiastic about doing the DCA strategy every week.
I am happy that you have learnt from  your mistake ginsan for thinking that bitcoin is a short term profit generator, which this is what so many people always have at the back of their mind that is to sell and make profit when there is a little pump in price. They are blindfolded with little profit at the moment and didn't see the huge benefit when you hold for long. So many bitcoiners have this idea of selling durig the bull or in a price higher than what tgey bought as smartness and buying again after the price has dump below what they sold. They are just deceiving themselves thinking that they are making income not knowing that it will be hard for them to have that same number of bitcoin or higher than it after they have sold it,due to some financial circumstances that will come around the person and will make him use some part of the funds to solve.

Sometimes, the price of bitcoin might even discourage him to be able to buy back the quantity he sold. Ginsan take for instance that the price you sold those 5BTC of yours and compare it to assuming you left it to this very time, how much your bitcoin portfolio will worth. Anyway,we are in the forum to learn more on how to be successful in our bitcoin journey by accumulating more sats to our investment portfolio and also to learn and understand the reason why we must not sell our bitcoin but hodli for as long as we can. JayJuanGee is a genius in this aspect and he is ready to make one struggle his way to success in his bitcoin journey through his experience as an OG. This thread has really helped a lot of us to understand bitcoin bitcoin is all about hodli and accumulating in your capacity,so that you might able to reach that fuck you status someday. DCA strategy is a good one.

1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 16, 2023, 11:26:16 AM
There are too many players there so Chelsea need to make reductions and Pochettino as the new manager there where not as someone involved in buying these players will choose which one he thinks will be suitable as a starting XI and also a reserve so that his team is competitive. Mason Mount has long been rumored to want to leave Chelsea due to dissatisfaction with the wages being earned, with other players still around Chelsea should be able to cover well the place Mason is likely to leave.
Chelsea did spend too much money last season to bring in all the talented young players and they shouldn't have to be hasty in making these purchases if in the end Chelsea change coaches for one season. Now Pochettino's arrival will indeed give a new color to Chelsea and of course, as you said, every coach will only need players who are felt to meet the standard strategy that he will provide.

Chelsea's mistakes are indeed very difficult to accept and therefore now the players will start to be sold in the summer. Regarding Mason Mount, it seems that he is not comfortable at Chelsea and the salary does not seem to make him want to stay at Chelsea. There will be many replacements for Mount later and Chelsea don't seem too bothered by that.
Chelsea's problem may lie not in the players unfortunately, but in the club president, who has a very strange way of doing things, starting with the choice of coach. Buying players for 400 million euros for an average coach is a very risky idea, why in the beginning they did not find a top coach, who would also pick the squad is also a mystery.

In general, Poccetino will have a lot of work, but he knows how to work, he has character and he will manipulate himself, so maybe he will get something good this season, at least to return to the top five teams in the league, it will already be a success.
Pochettino is indeed a good coach and has good experience in the Premier League but returning to Chelsea team management, I agree that what happened last season was the mistake of the Chelsea management who did very strange things and I hope that mistake can be a valuable lesson for them and give Pochettino time to be able to rebuild this team to the top of the Premier League table.

It's a little difficult to build a team that has fallen down, but if you look at the players that the Chelsea team has, I have no doubt they will be able to get back up next season. Pochettino only needs to bring in a few more players who fit the strategy he will implement.
Chelsea football club has been torn apart and would be impossible for Pochettio to reform the club in just one season. What I mean is that,he needs more time to understand the players capacity and also know which player that will be able to suit his own football pattern.

It is nice to see that Chelsea has learnt from their mistake and the management needs to wake up from their slumber so that their decisions wouldn't affect the club performance anymore. Chelsea might not be playing in any European league but they can fight out their way any of these leagues next season by putting in a quality performance.
1986  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: President Tinubu Signs Student Loan Bill Into . on: June 16, 2023, 11:13:33 AM
Loan business no dey go well with the borrowers because e dey hard to pay back loan due to the hardship for we country. Giving student loan no be wetin fit help these youths for Nigeria grow. Na employment be the koko, wetin we dey see for Naija be say, we been first think say na school be the way to success but that na for olden days not now again, because person wey finish school go sit down for house no level. But people we no go school get better hand work and still dey flex.

Tinubu say the loan na for poor man wey get zeal to go school but not get funds. If this poor man finish from school, how he go fit take pay back. Abi Tinubu still dey with that olden days mentality say na school be all. Omo now na handwork sure pass o,as long as you fit read and right and also dey brilliant, you go excel for any field wey you find yourself, so far say you go secondary school. 1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 16, 2023, 10:06:08 AM
The article is saying the truth, both men and women are involved in gamble and as long as it is gambling risk is part of it. It is noticed that men are more into gambling that women because men are more skillful in games than women.

In my area, when I go to an offline casino with my friends,if there are gamblers everywhere, you will only see few women among us due to the fact that women think less on gambling activities. Women are after how to look beautiful and looking good as their hobby. All these distracts them away from gambling.
1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: June 15, 2023, 11:56:44 AM
I was always curious, if football is so much popular in Brazil, Brazil "produce" probably worlds best players, when asking random people who are the best football players - people say that these are Brazilians, then why dont they (Brazilians) receive Golden ball award so rarely? Yes this is a European award mostly, but we see Brazilians in European teams, but only 3 Brazilians got that ball in last 23 years. In last 23 years, Brazil only once won Fifa World Cup.
Yes, people are saying this based on past records of Brazil. I could remember when I was in secondary school, Brazil was very tough and has great players. They played fantastic football and people recognise them for that.

Brazil has won the world cup five times more than any country with the help of Pele. They are also the only countries that have appear in all world cup competition. This is the reason why people respects Brazil. They also have professional players in all the leagues. Maybe this is not the time for Brazilian to shine
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ambivalent attitude to gambling on: June 15, 2023, 11:32:53 AM
Criticism towards gambling persists, with the belief that these games have a detrimental effect on society by exacerbating wealth inequality and contributing to social issues.
Gambling is a way of life that those who criticize gambling can't understand. Gambling is part of human and nothing can change it. Though, the strong religious people can see it from this side because it is against their belief.

Quote
What do you think? Why is there such a different attitude to gambling products and will it ever change?
Because it ruins those people that don't have self-control over their gambling activities due to addiction. It will never change, because everyone has his own perspective on gamble

1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: June 14, 2023, 01:24:09 PM

The methods you provide can provide income every month because you provide services and they can do it too if they have good skills. And they can also look for other jobs in the real world to make money instead of just playing gambling and hoping to generate income every month.

We know that gambling is only for fun and entertainment so we cannot make money every month or even daily. But if we work or set up a business, it can generate money for us, especially if we can develop it to be bigger than before. Of course, our income will be bigger too.
Of course we have already advocated for people not to take gambling as a mean of income and gambling is not a business or work that you except to make a living from,  having that kind of mindset towards gambling can lead to several problems with the first as getting addicted.

Gambling should be done just to have fun and nothing more than that,  lately this issues of people reliance on gambling to make ends meet has really negatively affected society because well-able men are now lazing around the casino all with the hope to win a jackpot rather than getting a job in the real world that can help their condition.
There is no way that one can keep on winning everyday because gambling is based on luck and it is impossible for someone to be lucky everyday. What I understand in gambling is that you will lose more than you will win. Those people that thinks that gambling is a daily profit making activities, got it wrong.

The only way that you can make daily profits on gambling is when one has a casino or works in a casino. Apart from this,it is loss upon loss that one will always get from gambling. Gambling is for fun and entertainment. I guess that this topic should be locked since everyone have contributed from their own point of view.
1992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 14, 2023, 12:56:23 PM
I agree with you. Vini is a really good player. But I also don't think Vini has the ability to score more than 30 goals in a season. Vini has played very well this season. However, he scored only 10 goals in 33 La Liga matches. Vini is not a regular scorer like Benzema and Ronaldo. Real Madrid needs a replacement for Benzema, who can score a lot of goals. Mbappe or Harry Kane could be a suitable replacement for Benzema. These two players have the ability to score a lot of goals. And their fit is very good.
Yes, Vinicius Junior is not fully reliable to replace the role of Benzema. Vini's position and play style are different and he is more comfortable playing as a wing attacker. Real Madrid still have to find a single sticker. Harry Kane, Firmino, Havertz and Osimhen are suitable substitutes to fill the position left by Benzema. But so far there has been no issue from El Real about who will be their hunting target. I think Ancelotti must immediately get a sticker without having to wait until the transfer window closure time.

Ancelotti should try his best to sign Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen. I saw Victor Osimhen's performance last season. He is a great striker. Scored 26 in Serie A and 5 in 6 Champions League matches. He can play better with an experienced squad like Madrid. Ancelotti is likely to be interested in signing Mbappe. However, PSG will not decide to sell Mbappe. PSG have plenty of money, they won't be interested in making money by selling Mbappe. And so Madrid should try to sign Kane or Victor Osimhen.
Mbappe is the man that can replace Benzema in that position but the problem is that PSG has been depriving Mbappe from coming to Madrid. If Mbappe comes to Real Madrid then I think that Real Madrid will be the best club next season. Kane and Osinmeh will also be a good replace.

Ancelotti should try and make his moves fast with the right decision so that the vaccum will be filled up. Real Madrid will try their possible best to see that they win a trophy or more next season. Next season will be hopeful for Real Madrid.
1993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin Be Badly Hurt if Binance Goes Down? on: June 14, 2023, 12:32:09 PM
Bitcoin has been surviving from 2009 without Binance and I believe that the same thing will happen if Binance shuts down, this will affect the crypto market for some period of time and after that bitcoin price will correct itself again.

Binance can't totally go out of service because there are other countries that are crypto friendly that Binance will still operate there. There are some countries that is not crypto friendly but Binance still operates there and the government doesn't see it as a problem. Example of such country is Nigeria. It is only the US that can shut Binance out of service in their country.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 03:27:29 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?
No I can't because I see gambling as a means of entertaining myself and who on earth will hit it big from what he lives doing and quit. This is impossible, even people that are losing huge sum of money don't quit, they only go for rehabilitation.

Quote
Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.
Nobody have the intention of losing when they are gambling and for this reason, one can think that he will be lucky again to win 2x what he won, which we see as greed. I can win big and put my wins back into gambling and use that money to gamble for a very long period of time,so that I don't budget my monthly income on gambling anymore.

Quote
Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
Yea,what I do now is that if i manage to win big,I buy something that I can always use to remember my wins, and put the rest into gambling because I might win again.
1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 13, 2023, 03:09:10 PM
I also think it's a bit too early to start talking about it, also because the transfer market has to take place and some nations could place additional teams on the list.
For sure the winner take always the spot for the next year... let's see how it proceed but anyway it's always "a long battle" up to the finale...
Why is OP in a rush when we still have the fresh memory of this season finals and we are still discussing on it. Moreover, there is already a thread on UCL which we have been discussing on that the OP,do edit whenever a new season starts. Personally,I don't have anything to say because I can't look into the future, transfers hasn't be made and we don't know how strong this clubs will be. It is when next season starts that one can have a proper insight of the league. Man city won't be able to win back to back, let's no deceive ourselves.
Why do you think that Manchester City cannot win the Champions League back to back, it could be you that is deceiving yourself here. Just look at last season and season ago Manchester city is the Champions league team of the year for upto 3 consecutive times if I am not mistakakikg. This shows how good the Guardiola team has turned out to be. They dominated the CL team of the year and not many of them will leave the club this season. So it is expected that Manchester City will get to the finals and win the Champions League consecutive.
I agree with your point that Manchester city can win UCL back to back because they won this season which was their first time in history and they have being appearing more than three consecutive years before they finally won it,therefore it is possible.

On the other hand let us not think that other clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona will be sleeping and allow City to win them if they come in clash with each other. Luck also count in winning, from the way I saw the finals,it was luck that gave City the victory and not by their effort because they have really tried in appearance on this league over the years. Inter outplayed City and missed two great opportunities. Football is full of surprises and we should expect such. Who would believe it that Manchester city will mess Madrid up like that in the second leg semifinals. A strong club can become weak tomorrow and a weak club can become strong tomorrow.

Gambling is good but it can be said to be bad by people base on whoever that is close to them that gambles and how he takes or sees gamble. It is the irresponsible people that have been addicted to gamble and does all sort of illegal activities just to gamble. These type of people that see gambling as a means of making profit and keep in chasing their losses, will go at an extreme just to gamble.

I do gamble for fun and this hasn't cause any problem for my or my family after I cautioned myself and controlled my gambling activities. If I set out any amount for my weekly gambling activities, once the money is exhausted, I stop gambling till the next week. Any gambler that does evil in the name of gambling should quit gambling because it is not a healthy practice for him.
1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: June 12, 2023, 04:51:44 PM
Ronaldo joining Al Nassr was a big mistakes as they'll be regretting not signing Messi which was their first choice. Ronaldo joined the club yet they couldn't win anything, they got knockout from cup competition and missed out of the league. Next season Ronaldo better helps the club in winning the league or he'll be cancelled meanwhile Messi will be celebrated and probably been made the ambassador of the 2026 world cup since he's now the most popular football player that's in the country. Already the club he signed for are getting positive returns from this deal as ticket for the full season are sold out at expensive prices.
I don't think Ronaldo has ever regretted joining Al Nassr they had enough good intentions so it was their choice, I know Ronaldo still failed this season because he couldn't bring any trophies and this club failed in all competitions but that doesn't mean Ronaldo has regrets because that and of course he has made a lot of contributions including to the team and also the fans are glancing at this SPL league.

About Messi it has been his choice to Inter Miami but I have never heard that he will be the ambassador for the 2026 world cup later even though it is very close to him, the real thing that Messi earns more money is that there are several clauses from other sponsors who are part of Messi.
Yeah Inter Miami has been selling tickets more expensive than usual but look at Al Nassr has sold a lot more jerseys including the broadcasting rights of the SPL league now it's even more extraordinary because of Ronaldo's popularity.
Ronaldo is happy in Al Naasr, and I don't think that the club is angry towards his performance this season because he brought firm and the world to Saudi Arabia. When he first joined Al Naasr, that night the club had almost 2M followers and I don't think that is a bad contribution to the club. Al Naasr is happy to have a superstar like Ronaldo in their club and I believe that Ronaldo will retire in the club.

Messi in Miami is a good news because I could remember that most old players do go to US league and retire there, living like a king because US football clubs love old superstars. Messi will draw a lot of attention to US,which was the main purpose why they bought him to bring the world to US league. It is a good strategy and a good move they did.
2000  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is AI beneficial to the society? on: June 12, 2023, 04:23:09 PM
AI has a great impact on the society positively, due to the fact that it makes work easy and done faster,it does things accurately without manipulation. It has been noticed that AI are more efficient than human in carrying out operations and this has made some companies to replace human jobs with AI.

Anything that has an advantage also has a disadvantage,AI can't reason like human and can't think fast or can involve in conversations and get quick answers to resolve problems on ground. I hope that in the nearest future,AI governments or the programmers wouldn't use it to hurt the society. It also makes human not to use their brains anymore to make researches for a better understanding.
