1981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: different digital coins on: September 23, 2014, 02:39:42 PM
I am new to all this and would like to know how many types of digital currencies there are as of now.

Check out the Altcoin subsection of the forums:

1983  Economy / Economics / Re: Alibaba IPO To Blame For Bitcoin Crash on: September 23, 2014, 02:32:53 PM
Yeah I don't think that the Alibaba IPO is really related to the Bitcoin crash. Interesting theory though.
1984  Economy / Economics / Re: "Apple Pay" on: September 22, 2014, 07:59:32 PM
Apple Pay is more secure than using a regular credit card for purchases since it relies on one time codes which help protect your credit card from being compromised and used against your will. I think it will help people become more accustomed to different types of payment methods and once people realize the benefits of a method like bitcoin that is truly separated from the credit card companies, they may be more open to it.
1985  Economy / Economics / Re: World population growth on: September 22, 2014, 07:55:05 PM
100,000,000 births this year and 40,000,000 deaths year

Therefore a 60,000,000 increase in global population

And its mathematically impossible for each of those individuals to ever own a full bitcoin.

A similar issue was being discussed within topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=781192.0 . Perhaps this post should have been added to that post rather than be its own?
1986  Economy / Economics / Re: In 10 years, when BTC is mainstream what % of people will own 1 BTC on: September 22, 2014, 07:53:19 PM
This is an interesting question. If bitcoin becomes heavily adopted, many late comers won't have more than 1 bitcoin I think. However, bitcoin needs to survive for 10 years without anything replacing it and needs to become more common. Lets hope it continues on an upward trend.
The whole process of distribution for the last year reinforces bitcoin state as nothing more than a Ponzi scheme. When the distribution is skewed very badly towards early adopters, they will have almost total control over the market. There are 47 individuals own 28.9% of the approximately 12 millions Bitcoins in existence so far and another 1000 own 21.5%, meaning that a slightly more than 1100 people control half of the entire market cap of the digital currency. And total about a million people own $10,000 or less worth. Those shareholders could manipulate arbitrarily. I think I'll keep my money elsewhere....

It is true that people with large positions have quite a bit of control over the market. Although this is true with all things such as the stock market where large shareholders have a lot of power to move the markets as well.
1987  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are you doing right now? on: September 19, 2014, 06:02:31 PM
HODL right now. I kind of want to buy to increase my position but price is very volatile right now and my other half views bitcoins as too risky for an investment.
1988  Economy / Speculation / Re: This captain is ready to go down with his ship. on: September 19, 2014, 05:57:53 PM
Adoption is the real issue. We need more people to adopt bitcoins and see them as viable. I think many people still feel that bitcoins are "fake money" and have no faith in bitcoins.

I deposited .02 and was able to take it to .08. Withdraw was processed without any issues.

Guess I won't need to take advantage of the rebate since I ended up doing well.  Grin

"Only bets over 0.1 BTC will be included"
.1 is not over .1, why would you include those in the winners list?
You screwed up.

I think it was obvious he meant any high roller bets that showed on the high roller tab.

Smaller house edges would definitely be nice for this style of game.
1995  Economy / Gambling / Re: PRCDice.eu + REFERRAL BONUS + provably fair + Leaderboards +INVEST + PLAY + CHAT on: September 11, 2014, 03:27:23 PM
NEW PEOPLE:  Please read the previous 2 pages.

SO here is another bug. Dean, Do I get a bounty this time Tongue
or feel free to cover it up again.

I got chat banned from the site. Dean banned my IP Sad

So I logged in to the site and saw a guy ask that it is good to see investments are up.
And I was like, can't you see its up because Road lost 7 BTC bet just about half hour back in the high roller.

And then to my surprise that bet wasn't there in the high roller tab. SO I took yet another long video to show this.

Here is the Link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDkeWjGe-sU&feature=youtu.be

Now in the video clearly other people cannot see the High roller losing bet of 7 BTC.

Doing this is something Site Developers can take advantage of. Investors who are not online then, will never know if such a bet was ever made and Dean can just cut the profits that investor might have made and save it for himself and update the stats for that person back to before that bet was made.( I am sure Dean doesn't do this, but still is always a flaw that can be taken advantage off) . The funny part is that it was the biggest losing bet that was missing, so fingers pointed at.

Now to all the people supporting Dean, its not your fault that you are. When I first claimed in the chat DB was rigged everyone was the same, Even after posting the proof some people were like, " no DB can't be wrong". So good luck.
Dean has never had the intention of cheating anyone, but once someone figures out a bug or something big, he covers it up and blames the same guy who found it, and people just forget about it and this is foolishly wrong. I did ask Dean for a bounty to find that ,  and I asked for it immediately, but he just used that against me, and which is why his behavior will take his site down.

I am sure after this Dean will be like finnile's fault that bet was missing from the high roller tab.
If you go to PRC immediately, and see the high roller tab you will not see the 7 BTC losing bet(unless Dean reads this first and fixes it).
Which again he would say is a UI problem.

You may well have found some display issue, not sure why roads bet is not showing for you. But everyone can now verify that it exists by going here
https://prcdice.eu/bets/getbet/9070610

I suggest you now do that with the bets you claimed were skipped

I was just about to link the bet as well. But I will say that it does not show up under the High Roller tab for me so there are some sort of display issues going on.

1997  Economy / Gambling / Re: DiceBitco.in - New Thread to Discuss on: September 08, 2014, 04:26:31 PM
Btw, what's up with the 1.2k BTC that just got invested?

It is actually only 500 if you look at the top, but still wondering where it came from as well.

Maybe there is a new bug that is causing repeated nonces?

Honestly all betting on the site should be stopped til these issues have been resolved. Not sure why it is still enabled.
2000  Economy / Gambling / Re: DiceBitco.in | BE THE BANK ! | 1% House Edge | 7500+ BTC BANKROLL | INSTANT! on: September 08, 2014, 12:33:35 AM
Yeah not refunding users who were cheated because they are in profit is pretty awful.
