1981  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I feel happy on: February 09, 2023, 02:41:49 AM
I am a 47 year old person, about 10 days ago I created a topic, namely: can a 47 year old person invest in bitcoin?

and today i feel happy because i look at the market and when i see the price of bitcoin it turns out that there is a good increase in price. and at that time I bought it at a price range of 17000 and now I see a price range of 20000.
and I feel happy because I haven't look at the market in a long time, suddenly the price of bitcoin has gone up, and the most meritorious thing that made me invest is because of my friends in this forum who give me encouragement and support.

and I want to thank you all.

and at the same time I have advice for people who are the same age as me or older than me, don't give up investing because of age, because age is God's secret.

bitcointalk.org is a good and useful discussion forum.
This forum is indeed a blessing to me because I have learned a lot from here. Before now I have been deceived by so many crypto organizations. Some of them will showcase the crypto sector as a place to get rich instantly. But my presence in this forum has made me understand more about bitcoin as a medium of exchange and investment. Now nobody can deceive me again because I can find almost all the information I need about Bitcoin in bitcointalk.
1982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can this forum be targetted? on: February 09, 2023, 01:54:23 AM
With a strategy to stop the growth of bitcoins by reducing the community behind it, Is it possible that the government (say a collective effort by them all) target bitcointalk since it is the largest community bitcoin has(I think), to stop the activities of forum members from staying together to ensure that this community is disbanded?
Nations that are not comfortable with Bitcoin might want to reduce the influence of bitcoin through misinformation. They can assign their agents to register as members and use the opportunity it spread false information in the forum. They might also use hacking or cyberattack to try to attack the forum. But the forum is a well-managed platform that can withstand these threads by external forces. Bitcoin awareness is growing thereby making the population of the community experience constant growth.

Your story makes me remember that this is why I believe that free Education and free Healthcare are some of the essential pillars that one society should have their foundations on. To imagine the costs that you'll endure (and you family) during this period of your life is something that I can't really imagine being myself an European... I honestly wasn't aware of your situation but icopress directed me here and while I know it's not much, I'll be donating some funds over to your BTC address (or let me say @1miau will eventually (Thank you again!)) and I'm also running a charity auction[1] whose funds will be directed sent over to your address.

I really hope that everything goes well with the procedure and do let us know whenever you're in a safer zone regarding your health!

Thank you for these kind gestures. Selfless giving is lacking in our society these days because people are too selfish. I want to commend your heart for giving and the auction you are organizing to assist our friend. Just hoping that yahoo will soon be fine and back on his feet again. We just hope that our educational and health sector will be more effective and cheaper so that people can have access to quality an affordable healthcare.
1984  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am not okay with this forum at all on: February 08, 2023, 08:51:25 AM
If you're not okay here you got the freedom to leave, and you'll not be missed since you have made no contribution to the forum.
Also, I believe ppl are right; you provided a loan to your own alt since both of your account's writing style looks so much similar. Even an untrained kid can catch you here. Why not put your skills and money into something good ?

Without rules, there will be anarchy. If we want to get the best out of his forum it must be controlled by written or unwritten rules. We are even privileged to have good members that volunteer to enforce these laws, thereby keeping the forum clean.

I read in the beginners and help section that you must have thick skin to excel in this forum. Just be patient and adjust to the rules, and you might end up becoming one of the renowned members of the forum. This forum is voluntary which means you can stop visiting if you are uncomfortable with the rules.

Lazio has missed another chance of pushing through to the 3rd position in the standing . Having no on-target attempt through out the second half of the game really does show that They didn't only draw the match against Verona, but they struggled to have a draw in the match. Just 1 win in their last 4 matches. I wonder how okay Lazio could be with  1 point ahead of Atalanta and AC Milan who are fighting so hard to have a permanent position in the top 4.

Verona showed a lot of improvement in this game because they really played more than Lazio. Verona would have won the match because some of their attempts were either saved by the Lazio goalkeeper and others hit the woodwork. Lazio must work on their team if they want to be more competitive this season. It also good to see Ngonge score that wonderful goal. This young lad was so excited to score, hope he would get more goals before the season ends. Verona deserves all the praise and it was clear that they appreciated the win. Napoli is unstable, for now no team can stop them from winning the trophy this season.
1986  Economy / Reputation / Re: SBF-Ross Ulbricht on: February 07, 2023, 02:41:32 PM
This should be the case but we know how slow the justice system there that's why this two guys still can live an easy life outside even if they have to many cases due to what criminal actions they do. But since they create a huge crime possibly this will prosper since many eyes are following this case and provably the authority handling this case is been watch on how they handle this case since many people are watching on how they can get a justice on what SBF and Ulbricht done to them.

This two criminals is important to fell down in jail because it will give justice and satisfaction to their victims.
Ulbricht is already serving a life jail term in in the US, while SBF is still going through legal proceedings until he is found guilty. But Ulbricht didn't scam anybody he just created an illegal platform that people voluntarily join. But SBF used different advertisement strategy which includes expensive endorsement and promotion deals with different celebrities with the intention of attracting people and using their funds for personal use. Both of them acted against the law but I think SBF deserves harsher punishment.
1987  Economy / Economics / Re: Jamie Dimon and big-company CEOs receive pay cuts amid an economic slowdown on: February 07, 2023, 02:13:14 PM
Have CEO pay cuts been long overdue? Is this a legitimate step towards wealth and wage equality, which many have called for? While current economic and financial conditions may not be ideal? Perhaps there is a good potential here for real and lasting reforms, which could help to balance the global economy?
For a long time now it is workers have been bearing the burden of failed businesses. These CEO are earning skyrocketed wages and salaries while workers are receiving peanuts yet they are the first hit. Some top executive prefer to sack workers or cut thier earnings because they want to still maintain thier luxuries lifestyle. But the above news is a welcomed development because they are beginning to understand that these workers are humans with families and responsibilities. Although wealth and wages equity can never be achieved but this is a step on the right direction.

1989  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance suspends withdrawl on: February 07, 2023, 09:11:55 AM
Binance Will Temporarily Suspend US Dollar Bank Transfers starting from Wednesday

Source:
https://decrypt.co/120678/binance-suspends-us-dollar-bank-transfers

Though its no something major in terms of revenue and userbase of Binance USA clients as said by them ,

Is this something indicative according to you...

Does it has to do with SEC being investigating all the Binance activities in regards to involved in some kind of illicit activities..

Share your opinion..
The only issue I have with this news is that Binance didn't give any reason for this suspension. They would have told their customers the reason but everyone is suspecting an SEC investigation. There are also speculations that it was because of the company's faceoff with a leading banking partner. But the number of customers affected according to the exchange firm is insignificant, maybe 0.01%. Most Binance operations are still available and this news only affects customers in the US.  I don't think it is a major threat.
1990  Economy / Reputation / Re: SBF-Ross Ulbricht on: February 05, 2023, 07:50:02 PM
For Bible believers, All sin are equal in the sight of God. And in our normal society no one is above the law, So if someone has committed an offense that is punishable by law, be it killing, armed robbery, cyber crimes or Fraudulent practices and in one way or the other be a sponsor to such things, Then if found guilty the offender should go face the law and if it involves going to the prison or jail, the person should be there to learn some lessons. The bottom line is wether SBF, Ross Ulbricht no one is above the law and both should go to prison if found guilty of their acts.
Everyone is equal before the law but some people can be specially treated by the law. The law is unbendable but the humans that interpret and enforce the law can be manipulated. Don't forget tht SBF donated both to the Republicans and Democrats and his parents are highly connected. All these facts can influence the judgement which might lead to a short sentence or long sentence with paroles. Ross Ulbricht was just a commoner that wanted to promote privacy but he did that for the underworld making his business immoral. He is not also politically connected and this led to a very harsh punishment.
1991  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your college degree means that you are not educated. on: February 05, 2023, 06:56:44 PM
I was a mathematics professor, and as a professor, I must regard colleges are extremely unprofessional institutions that not only promote violence against me but also refuse to acknowledge that they are the problem. The only proper response to this situation is for people to collectively regard college degrees as very bad and college graduates as uneducated. The only thing that will get me to change my opinion about these wretched institutions is for the institutions to acknowledge that there is a problem and take steps to solve this problem.

-Joseph Van Name Ph.D.

With all due respect professor, the reason why people should disregard university degree or qualifications is because they promote or promoted violence against you. Don't you think it's a selfish request? Your case should be used to generalize about universities all over the world. You have not also told us what transpired between the university and you that let to the violence allegation. For me universities are institutions that teach educands specific or general skills that could help them to be productive and law abiding. Although there are some of them that promote other negative vices based on the educational goals of the country.
1992  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukrainian troops are KIDNAPPING ethnic Hungarians to make soldiers out of them on: February 05, 2023, 06:43:17 PM
kidnapping isn't going to work. if they are kidnapped, they will just shoot the Ukrainian kidnappers once they are given arms.
but i think offering a large sum will make the ethnic groups consider. Zelenskyy has money printers.

they need more people to join though, there are even reports in the early days of the war that they are gathering Talibans, and Pakistanis that the US had trained during their stay in Pakistan are sent to Ukraine to join the war. but this news was not verified. maybe true maybe they are not. there were interviews of the British armies going back home though.

There is also a propaganda war going on between Russia and Ukraine and thier Allies. Sometimes you hear news that turn out to be lies from these two warring parties. It was widely publicized that Russian Naval force killed all the Ukrainian soldiers stationed at Snakes Island but it turned out to be false. You can't forcefully push people to war and expect them to wilfully fight for you. Most of them will end up becoming saboteurs. I suggest both parties respect the global war laws and I am sure it prohibited forced conscription.
1993  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank of China ex-advisor calls Beijing to reconsider crypto ban on: February 05, 2023, 06:34:27 PM
He is correct, the benefits of cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin is greater than the disadvantages. China is not a democratic nation that is why we shouldn't expect much from this comments because the decision on the communist party definitely supercede the voice of the people. China might consider unbanning cryptocurrencies maybe if they want to help Russia and Iran to invade sanctions.

1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 05, 2023, 05:45:50 PM
Quote from: Mate2237
Mallorca 1 - 0 Real Madrid
I was shocked when I saw the replay match between Mallorca vs Real Madrid. If a prophet told me that Mallorca would win Real Madrid in that match I would not believed him. Even in the match Real Madrid dominated the game. Luck was not by their side that was why they loss out from the game.
Real Madrid find it difficult to win the game today because, the tactics Mallorca players were using from the beginning of the game made Real Madrid players to lose control for their opponent to achieved the victory. I guess, Real Madrid coach need to replace some players before the end of this tournament so that there will be hope for them to improve higher in this season.
Real Mallorca showed a lot of courage. Most teams would have played defensive because of the attacking powerhouse of Real Madrid. But they came out and played the game and created so much goal scoring opportunities. Nacho's own goal was an uncommon header that can rattle any goalkeeper. Real Madrid might not win the La Liga this season until they get a good replacement for Karim.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 05, 2023, 05:33:00 PM
Another easy victory for Napoli, which had no problems at Spezia. AC Milan has dropped significantly in the ranking. Tonight Inter and AC Milan play against each other. Should Inter lose that, the lead of leader Napoli over the number 2 is no less than 16 points. Have we seen that in this competition in recent years? Last year it was exciting until the very last round, that will not be the case this year. With the current standings, Napoli is even the new champion 5 rounds before the end of the competition. Somewhere it is inexplicable why this team is so strong this season.
Napoli continues to show its existence that they are ready to win the Scudetto title this season, and today they managed to add 3 points to their collection again. Yes, the derby match will really determine whether Napoli's points gain with Inter Milan will widen again or not. It will also not be easy for Inter Milan to win this derby match because we know AC Milan is also a formidable team that cannot be beaten just like that even though their performance is declining.
Spezia did not disappoint but they wasted all thier opportunities. Their attack lack coordination, instead of teamwork players wanted to score alone. Victor Osimhen is a goal merchant, he plays like Gabriel Batistuta the Argentina potcher. Napoli is simply unstoppable and it is clear that they will be the Serial A champions.
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 30, 2023, 03:08:28 PM
I don't Napoli will flop when it comes to winning the seria a this season
That fight last night is an example of how a winning team should be.
Oshime is a big man on the pitch, it is good to see that he didn't leave Napoli he has a big role to play.
When the former coach of Napoli Gennaro Ivan Gattuso bought Victor Osimhen for Eighty Million Pounds the Italian press was criticising him that he just wasted the funds. The striker struggled for few games because he needed to understand the Italian league and he had some injury setback. Today he is one of the best striker not only in Italy but in Europe. He is currently the highest goal scorer in the Italy and his worth currently have skyrocketed to Hundred Million pounds and some top clubs are showing interest. From all indications Napoli is unstoppable this season because they have the quality and the favour.
1998  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think corruptors will be happy or miserable in the future? on: January 30, 2023, 02:57:56 PM
Corruption often occurs in government, and hinders the growth of the country. There are many corruptors who are caught and end up in prison, but there are also many who are not caught. In my opinion, corrupt people are always covered in anxiety, for fear of being found out by their superiors. But do you think when someone becomes corrupt, will he be happy or miserable in the future?
Corruption doesn't only happen in government because it is prevalent in every area of the society. There is even corruption in religious institution that is generally percieved as clean or free from corruption. There is also corruption in the educational sector because students cheat in examination, while teachers collect bribe to give student undeserved grades. There is corruption is sports where match fixing and bribery is popular. We even heard the news of corruption in FIFA.  But corruption in government is the most popular because elections are won via corrupt means and this would lead to the institutionalization of corruption.

These days the government protect corrupt officials from prosecution, that is why most of them are not scared or afraid. But the truth is that you cannot cheat nature. Whatever you sow in life you must also reap. Some of these corrupt individuals end up miserable maybe because of sickness or other misfortune. Some of them give birth to wayward children that engage in criminal activities or become addicts to either drugs, women or gambling.
1999  Economy / Economics / Re: I have resolved into buying more and caring less on: January 30, 2023, 02:25:30 PM
Good for you if you have the money. You no longer have to worry about buying during the dip or all of those advice that seasoned traders give out to the newbies. You just buy and forget, as what a lot of people do a few years back and were rewarded with insane profits that they never expected. Even I was doing this thing for years, and even if a lot of people advice against it, there's no doubt that hold and forget really works.
There are so many predictions about the price of bitcoin that will even make you confused. This is the first time I am seeing bitcoin rising since I joined the industry a few months ago. I don't think I would buy at this price because it seems too high for me and there are also predictions that this might be a very short mini-bull run which means that the price might go down. For now, I don't have the finance and courage to buy at this high price. But people are encouraged to buy because the real bull run might start in a few years
2000  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Demilitarization of Iran and Russia. The path to peace and tranquility on Earth on: January 30, 2023, 02:06:43 PM
The only way to disarm all countries is to have a gigantic Earth cataclysm of some sort. This would kill off more people than wars, and would drive us all back to the dark ages or worse.

The only practical way to disarm nations is for Jesus to return. And He can do it because He has been given control over the whole space-time continuum by His Father God.

He knows what everyone is thinking, and He has control to keep them peaceful at the same time He can keep them free... including you and me.

Cool

Disarming Russia, China, Iran or North Korea is not the only pathway to global peace. These countries are not the only nations that are terrorizing the world. The US and its allies invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, and  Libya on the pretext that they are fighting terrorism but they ended up destroying these nations. After the destruction, they abandoned these nations and now the citizens are suffering. If we want global peace, let all nations be disarmed. But because of greed and ceaseless drive for influence, these world powers would always want to be armed so that they can always intimidate and oppress perceived weaker nations.
