1981  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: OKCoin.com is becoming SCAM! on: November 22, 2016, 01:10:08 PM
Damn, that is a lot of money to lose if they don't pay you back. I hope you get your money back OP. They will probably help you out now, since you posted your problem here on the forums. This forum will be a great tool for you since members here will most probably give some sort of help like those twitter messages pointing to your thread. Good luck OP!
1982  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Undergraduate Dissertation on: November 22, 2016, 12:54:21 PM
I appreciate the feedback, thank you! Mt. Gox is something I've been doing a lot of research on and I have been planning on focusing a fair bit on, so it's good to read that you both think that would be a good area to concentrate on! Silk Road I was kind of in limbo about talking about, but I will look at how I could incorporate that more rather than the Bitfinex 'hack' if people feel that is a more interesting topic. I've seen the Dark Web film already, and it is superb.

Thanks again.

I would say that the most interesting part here is going through how Bitcoin was used in the darknet and how they laundered their money through bitcoin. Also, since Bitcoin was a global phenomenon the rise of illegal stuff sold on the internet went international as well. We can't deny that Bitcoin gain popularity because of the darknet, but it has been transitioning to a more mainstream usage like online payment for services and licit products online.

If you're a finance, business or similar majors, then discussing money laundering through bitcoin might be a good approach. Then if it's about security, you could go and discuss how money transactions can be more secure using bitcoins.
1983  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money? on: November 21, 2016, 03:00:27 PM
According as my experience, when I was bought 15 bitcoin about 2 years ago, if I sell for now I get profit more than 500%. But I regret it, because most of my already sell a few days before halving day or 4 months ago and I only get profit not more 300%. And now, my current focus is only to collect the bitcoin and I will not sell any time soon.

300% is still quite good for an investment for two years. But, sadly you could have waited a little longer before you sold them all.
1984  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Desperate move: ISIS fighters using 600 suicide bomber dogs against Iraqi forces on: November 21, 2016, 02:42:26 PM
In a more serious note. I really hope some country find and nuke the base of ISIS and kill every one of them. They are a cancer in this world.

Nuking them is not a serious option. First of all, none of the super-powers (and even India and Pakistan) want to use nuclear weapons as a first strike. And also, ISIS is using civilians living in areas controlled by them as human shields. If we bomb the cities under ISIS occupation, then far more civilians than terrorists are going to lose their lives.

What I really meant was to really strike them and end their reign of terror. Nuking anyone or anything is overkill and should be banned in the articles of war. A nuclear explosion creates so much devastation on impact as well as after it explodes.

Even using conventional weapons against them is very difficult, as I said they are using civilians as human shields. It is a very tough choice, and there will be lot of collateral damage. But the first priority should be to wipe out the ISIS at any cost.

In this situation, would you chose the life of a few hundreds of people or the whole population of the world? Will the ends justify the means?

1986  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User PROBABLY!FIXED SCAMMER on: November 21, 2016, 07:28:50 AM
Its your fault and no one going to blame, you have to ask question please before doing anything, try go see his trust first and don't be fooled to those tricks that make someone rich  Roll Eyes
I'm sorry for your lose 0.12 btc is huge amount though, I hope this will serve as a lesson to you and to those who will deal a newbie accounts here.

It's OP's own fault. He never did any background check on the person and thus OP lost 0.12 Bitcoins. You should have been careful trusting anyone with your coins, specially because bitcoin transactions are irreversible.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fixed Matches ( 19th November odds@25-30) on: November 21, 2016, 06:31:26 AM
Here comes another Free Bet:

19.11.2016
BRAZIL: Série B
Vila Nova FC – Paysandu PA
Vila Nova FC – WIN
Odds : 2.10
FT : ?:?

This match ends in draw then how can you say these are fixed matches no one going to follow you because you lost all your credibility you need to work on these things then post here we already have some tipsters like these but they all gone empty hands from here

I agree as OP has only posted a few free tips and now expects people to pay, people need to see how OP does over the long term and not in just a couple of weeks. I don't believe the free tips OP gives are fixed as today's result was a draw.

Check out this scam accusation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1686035.

Let's see, OP claims that these matches are fixed. Then, the results do not come out like what OP said it would. Smells really fishy.

Well to be honest OP hasn't even shown any proof that his paid tips even win, yes a couple of the free tips won but I highly doubt that those matches were fixed. The screen shots proved nothing either just a screen shot of whited out table. If he wanted to prove he is legit he should take a screen shot of the betting slip and just white out the teams names and leave the odds time stamp and everything else showing.

True, this is just really a scam thread waiting for a victim. Which he already claimed one victim for the amount of 0.1BTC+. Just warning everyone else reading this thread not to give OP any of your money!
1988  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Recovering Coins on: November 21, 2016, 06:06:47 AM
Looks like you won't be getting anything back here. The website is gone and the owner is inactive on the forum. Also, your records might have been deleted from their files and even if you prove you have that fun the owner may argue he has no logs whether you withdrew the funds or not. Tough luck buddy.
1989  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Samsung Galaxy S7 on: November 21, 2016, 05:55:23 AM
Scary to buy this, though. This might explode during transport, and in the end, you don't get the item. Too much controversy on this phone.
1990  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to start to sell on MarketPlace? on: November 21, 2016, 05:49:56 AM
Hello, I signed up some minutes ago and I want to sell a service ( gift cards obtained legally )
I read this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3629.0 but there are 2 rules...
Are there other rules? Do I have to be an upgraded member or something like that to start to sell?
Is it allowed to sell gift cards/service with an AutoBuy website?

Thank you ( Sorry If I make this questions but this is the first time I signed up on here )

As what others have said, you don't have to have a ranked account. You really just have to be a legit seller and not a scammer. Also, for people to trust your service or you as a seller you have to give out vouch copies. So that people will trust that you are legitimate by reading reviews from reputable members of the community.

Hello Mercatox,

I would like to help out in translating and advertising this in my native language, Filipino (Philippines). I see that the campaign is not translating it to Filipino, but if you're interested I would be glad to help out.

Thank you and hoping for your gracious consideration.

Holy shit. Someone got tricked by that thread? I was watching that one and I was sure everybody replying to the thread were questioning it and asking OP to prove his claims! He never did though. He also kept on just posting picture of winnings which was already over and never did show a pending bet.

This is on you OP. You should have read everything on the thread first. Also, dealing with a newbie account would really be extremely risky!
1997  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Desperate move: ISIS fighters using 600 suicide bomber dogs against Iraqi forces on: November 20, 2016, 02:47:10 PM
Damn, it's smart tho. If this was a game like Red Alert 2. I used to do that on the attack dog, I placed C4 charges on them then have them attack the enemy.

In a more serious note. I really hope some country find and nuke the base of ISIS and kill every one of them. They are a cancer in this world.
1998  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have FREE electricity. Im thinking to start with 2 Antminer S9 on: November 20, 2016, 02:39:20 PM
Where on earth are you living and you have free electricity. (Maybe stolen, like pluggin into another person's socket?)

Well, removing one of the main expenses of mining will make your mining much much more profitable than paying for your own electricity.
1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you want to become Rich you need to Put Higher bets on: November 20, 2016, 02:34:57 PM
to test your luck you have to bet high amount, you can do with small amount too.
Noone will do to put higher bet amount continuously to be come rich.
It is a bad way to reach your ambition to become rich .
In my opinion with higher bet amounts, instead of getting rich from gambling, a gambler will become poor in quick time itself.

It is proven that gambling will not support anyone to become rich. At the same time we can assume, your bet amount will decide how quick you will become poor. If you bet in higher amounts, it might mean that you are rushing towards your poverty.

I agree. Gambling at higher bets will deplete someone's bankroll very quick and make them poor too. Gambling should be entertaining. Burning your bankroll really quick will remove the fun in it.
2000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Starter Gift Set for Christmas season --- Thoughts? on: November 20, 2016, 02:27:10 PM
This is a nice idea. It can also expose people to bitcoin. Having more people understand bitcoin is good for everybody not only those who has bitcoins already. Plus, this is a good earning opportunity for you my friend.
