1981  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you see the bitcoin economy 10 years from now? on: December 21, 2017, 11:09:44 AM
I still see bitcoin flourishing just like today. Bitcoin will never die and in 10 years we may see the price pick it up to levels like $50K. However, it will just remain as store of value. Trading will still be there, but not that much. Most people will just hoard bitcoin and will just cash it out on needed basis.

But there will be a lot of turbulence along the way, their will be a hard fought battle against government who dislike bitcoin. It will continue in the next 10 years that bitcoin will be really hard to own by then. That's why the price could go up like $50K-$100K or more. But again, bitcoin is unstoppable, no entity can stop it from pushing further in the future.
1982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future is crypto currency on: December 21, 2017, 07:01:35 AM
The future really looks bright at the moment, specially when he hit the mental barrier that is $10K. And now with all the attentions that bitcoin and crypto is getting, there's no question that crypto is now the future. You will hear it on TV, personalities talking about it, you can read all the news in the social media as well.

So for certain, 2017 is the beginning and then it will continue to 2018 as more and more people are aware what bitcoin is and how can it help them. It can be a store of wealth, another investment instrument. And all you have to do is to buy and hold on and watch it grow throughout the year.
1983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is DEAD Again!! on: December 20, 2017, 02:31:02 PM
Whenever there's a price dump, everyone says that bitcoin is dead. I think its normal that we need corrections along the way. We have seen this numerous times in the past, but then once it recovered, bitcoin price surges to another all-time-high. As for bitcoin cash, all alts have been, ETH, LTC and others. Bitcoin Cash is an alt so therefore its logical that it is the next alt to pump right now.

I agree though that the fees is the major reason why people can't really used Bitcoin as intended. LN should be implemented so that to at least alleviate the growing issues on high tx fees that we have been complaining in the past couple of years.
1984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Christmas And BTC? on: December 20, 2017, 11:31:02 AM
I was just wondering, to those experts on bitcoin, because I have seen that bitcoin suddenly lay low in going up, and now even plunges.  I needed your opinion.

Does Christmas or any holidays affects bitcoin?
Please elaborate. Thanks a lot

As far as I know there is no correlation between Christmas holiday and bitcoin.

I have seen last year that the price of bitcoin rose to all time high during the holidays and no cash out happened. I think the dumping in recent days is purely manipulation from whales. Look at how bitcoin cash is being pumped right now. Some may have sell their bitcoins and shift it to bitcoin cash. But when bitcoin cash is dump, they will all go back to bitcoin again. So its better to hold and not sell. Actually its good to enter the market today, good buying point.
1985  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The "C ICO/bounty" is most likely a scam on: December 20, 2017, 08:05:56 AM
This scammer so no one was paid. 72 hours have long passed. I removed the signature and avatar from this Scam. And Ehrhc should be banned on the forum.

I was not of this campaign and I was not enticed with the big pay outs they have been given because I really thought that it would turn out to be a scam. Well, payment hasn't been paid so participants can really scream all over and accused those people behind that its a scam.

Its been 96 hours as per last updated. No spreadsheets to look and see who's who is supposedly getting paid and all he do is post update that they are still calculating the payments. 2 weeks of your work gone. I suggest you forgot about this project but I'm sure that this is a rude awakening for everyone.
1986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash 2000$ after new year or before? on: December 19, 2017, 09:51:56 PM
Here it goes again. Bitcoin Cash reached 2.6k and only god know where will it stop this time. Bitcoin cash is having a very interesting journey. It definitely made lots of people rich. If you know when to buy and when to sell bitcoin cash can still be a very profitable investment.

Feel you mate. Let's see how its goes. I'm not a fan of this coins, but I guess when all the altcoins are being pump right now, its time for bitcoin cash to be pumped as well. But we all know that its not be long term. It will be just a matter of days before it will crash once more and then we will see thread of "I told you so".

Its already $2700 as per coinmarketcap, and it be pump more as bitcoin price is going down. We have seen this before. I hope you guys will not be fallen for this trap again. All this pump-and-dump in altcoins markets are really making a lot of people rich as long as they know what you are up to.
1987  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is a whale? on: December 19, 2017, 03:31:46 PM
whale is a person or institution that holds huge amount of bitcoin that has a huge impact in price , when they dump a huge amount of bitcoin prices will go down but when they pump after they dump prices will rise up , whales mostly the miners and traders and the others are those who are the huge investors of bitcoins.

Correct. they hold tons of bitcoin in their disposal. And we heard so much about them manipulating the price. And just recently, individuals whales are starting to show up. Look at how the news lately, you will see personalities like Mike N and that Russian Billionaire (I forgot his name) admitting they have huge stash of bitcoins. Plus other personalities. You wouldn't heard them before. But since bitcoin is going up, they know self admit that they are bagholders.

There's still a lot of whales out there, trying to hide their identities through institutional investors. Maybe before they fear for their life or something. But I believed that they do can move the price literally, that's why they are called whales, which can move the ocean when they swim.
1988  Economy / Economics / Re: Still Buying Bitcoin at $100K? on: December 19, 2017, 02:34:56 PM
Just made this topic for the future. Let's get back to it in few months when we get there.

Sorry I can't afford to buy bitcoin at $100K. Bitcoin will likely just as store of wealth by then. I mean, let's face it, there are more casual investors here in our forum. You would see lots of member complaining at $10K a pop, What more if the price goes to $100k?

Only those who have a lot of money can't afford that, dolphins, whales, institutional investors. But casual like me? I don't think so. That's why its really better to hold bitcoin starting from today. Because once the price goes to $50K-$100K, you will be instantaneous rich. But if I want it to buy at that price? NO. I wouldn't.
1989  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin now slowly drop should i sell? on: December 15, 2017, 05:24:27 PM
Never sell brother! Hodl and accumulate more coins along the way. You'll be thankful for this advice in no time!
Bitcoin is only going down because most people that saw the price of the coin are cashing what they have. They will not have any Bitcoin later if they sell their holdings.

Those that are selling or dumping bitcoin bitcoin it reaches $18K today are what we call weak hands. but its really better to hold because we might see the price go up again in the future. Well there's nothing wrong if you want to cash out, but please don't do it because you are panicking. Do it because you need money.

In my view, I don't have any reasons to sell right now, actually if I have the money I will bought because it will be a good idea since the price of bitcoin is going down.

1990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC - Next stop on: December 15, 2017, 03:04:25 PM
Hi all .,

This is my second thread about ETC

as you all know it hit an ATH of ~34.5 USD last couple of days

there is a hard resistance near the points  (31:34)
also a support of buy wall @ (28-29)

also total supply issue that kept people afraid of inflation is now solved after the fork  three days ago (12 DEC)

I myself think that it'll reach 45-50

so.., what do you think  ??

I guess with all the altcoins being pump lately its time to ETH to really get into the action. Its just above $30 as per coinmarketcap but I do believed that it can go to to more than $35. There a little dip though but support is still there as you have describe.

However, its really hard to think that it can go to $50 as its been into a wild price swing since its hit all-time-high earlier. I already see this kind of movement in ETH way back May-June when it also reaches its all-time-high. I may be wrong here but It looks like it will not hit $50 as of the moment.
1991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin predictions for end of 2017 on: December 15, 2017, 02:14:07 PM
Do you guys agree with the theory that as litecoin begins to reach oversold levels at around 250 USD, that it will begin to pick up pace again as volume increases?
My own prediction is around $300 for the end of the year as ethereum and bitcoin markets are still slow and people are starting to here more about litecoin, and now is a good buy because of its current dip

For me Litecoin is not good for long term, I predict that the price will go to $110-$150 at the end of the year. And I don't think that it will pick up the pace once again. However, it could happened early 2018. Those who have bought litecoin when it was cheap already took the profit in the last couple of days.

I don't like to think that they are just being pump like any other altcoins, but it looks like its the cases. Those pumpers already left out and I'm sure that the price will go down in the next couple of days. But just maybe if bitcoin's astronomical rise will trickle again, specially that CME bitcoin future contracts has not yet started, litecoin could get just a little push.
1992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know game like pusoy or tongits? on: December 15, 2017, 01:45:20 PM
Guy i would like to ask if there is a site accepting bitcoin to play tongits or pusoy?
You can see here what is pusoy and how to play it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRiKihmN6fs

And tongits how to play it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=due_i0OdsxM
I thougt there is no site for this kind of game in internet you can see this game here in our county Philippines.Maybe 80 percent of filipinos all over the world knows how to play tong its and pusoy

I know how it is played, but I not a fan of this game (tong-its). But I love seeing neighbors playing up until in the mornings and not standing for one a bit because this game is so intense. LOL. But as for tong-its yes, I play this games with my friends and family if ever there's a chance.

But I doubt that it will be attracted globally though, its only been known in the Philippines. The West would rather play poker than adopting tong-its and pusoy.
1993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin use for transactions are getting low on: December 15, 2017, 01:19:28 PM
Many are holding the bitcoins rather than spending it. If there is many transaction then automatically fee will be reduced due to large number of transactions. But, many are just holding it to get gain. if this trend continues, we will see a fall sooner or later.

Yes I agree with your statement. Bitcoin today is being used not for small transactions but rather for storing of wealth. Its a far cry from what the original designed by Satoshi. And unless the high tx fees and slow confirmation time is solve, it will take some time before we can really used it to pay someone from the other side of the planet.

And maybe this is the main reason why online retailers like Amazon, Ebay and even the rumored McDonalds is still not getting into bitcoin. Even Steam already stopped accepting bitcoin because of this reason.
1994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin price so high? on: December 15, 2017, 11:51:06 AM
Bitcoin price has stratospherically risen leaving minor players with massive gains and bigger players millionaires. Is this a bubble? Are the gains real?
Base on my research bitcoin supply is limited only for 21million and i see that 16million-17million plus is already mined by miners so  if the bitcoin reach the supply of 21 million the bitcoin price will go increase much more because the demand is high.
It’s actually because of demand this year bitcoin demand go very high and still some companies and people are trying to join so there is no doubt when demand of anything goes high so its price go high automatically and it happen with bitcoin because bitcoin is a good currency to use and the main thing about bitcoin is that its provide a lot of good opportunity for earning that’s why people are joining bitcoin so bitcoin is all in one.

Undoubtedly, demand is going up in correlation with price. At the start of the year, people don't know about bitcoin. But gradually specially when Japan enters the picture and embrace bitcoin, demand immediately went up. And now, not only in Asia, but throughout the world, bitcoin is already recognized.

The demand usually falls on the premise that by buying bitcoin and holding it long term, you will gain financial profit, which is very true. However, it can encounter a lot of bumps along the price. Since financial institutions now enter the picture this month, the demand shoots up once more making bitcoin crosses $16-$17K a pop.
1995  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Would it be legal to create new crypto? on: December 14, 2017, 10:54:39 AM
Don't think it's illegal, they are still discussing what it is: an equity, a commodity or a security. I wouldn't worry about this question too much ..

Yes, actually there are lots of new cryptos now. They are not considered illegal but not are not considered legal too at the same time. Yes, we don't really need to worry about that, what needs to worry is that existing cryptos with unstable price now.

So what you are saying is that they are somewhat on the category of gray area. But for me, if simple creating a coin is not legal per se, unless you are inside a nation which crypto's are totally ban.

But if you are in a crypto friendly nation, there's no doubt that creating new coins is legal. Heck even government are creating a government backed coins so it doesn't make sense that creating new crypto will be an outright illegal.

And I agree with @MerrickMaverick, consulting a lawyer is another layer of protection for you, if you really wanted to build your own crypto. He will give you sound advise to prevent future problems on your end.
1996  Economy / Economics / Re: short term investment or long term invesetment on: December 14, 2017, 10:39:02 AM
It all depends on your trading appetite if you what a bigger return of investment then go for long if you what not soo big yet safe investment then go short, but as bitcoin is getting more higher better to hold it for long

Yes, I estimate that most of us here really want bigger returns so they are going for long term hold, and besides its worry free. You just have to buy bitcoin and then do nothing and came back after 1 year and see how your money grows.

For short term though, like 3-6 months I guess its also good. Its not that big but at least you have a steady flow of cash after withdrawing your profit.

I also think that for short, much better to go to altcoins like Ethereum and Litecoin now. But for long term, its still bitcoin. So its your choice and make the best decision based on what you think is right for you.
1997  Economy / Speculation / Re: YOU ARE ALL STUPID - SELL NOW on: December 14, 2017, 09:49:11 AM
Good God, I've had enough. You will all lose your shirts when bitcoin hits the markets. You are not smarter than the big boys that run the financial industry.

SELL NOW YOU BLIND SHEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really, Wow we should listen to this expert, He is really concern about our investment and most likely care about us. look at his effort he created an account to bash Bitcoin.

 Roll Eyes

He did that coz he think he can convince a lot of people here to sell their bitcoin. And when majority of people sell their bitcoin, then it might affect the price. And when it drops, he will take advantage of it. I'm pretty sure he'll be buying more bitcoin if it will happen. Anyway, it's  his opinion, we can't do anything if that's his perspective in bitcoin.

Must be a good try tho. Grin
He's surely just trolling around and hoping that maybe someone will believes him and so spread the trolls with everyone.
Probably he misses the dip and wanting to buy again but it's too late for him so I advice him just buy now and shut the fuck up.

Hahhaha.. Trolling at its best. We are not that stupid to trust someone saying we need to sell. LOL. Yeah don't try though and I'm sure that he is monitoring and having a good laugh.

I'm sure of that the he really wants to get and buy bitcoin as a discounted price. Hoping to pull it back by spreading his own FUD here. Unfortunately, no one is convinced with his stupidity. Bitcoin is again touching $17K. I think we should be vigilant and see threads coming up from newbies speculating and creating false news.

Anyways, goodluck to him waiting for the price to crash so that he can buy and get into the picture. Grin. And we not the stupid here, you have our own judgement if we like to sell or not.

1998  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH, LTC, DASH, XRP -why all so high on: December 14, 2017, 09:06:01 AM
I am shocked ETH reach 700USD today. Any hype that make altcoins rise?. Is cryptokitties made issues until today?

LOL mate, it doesn't surprises me at all because of this news:

https://www.coindesk.com/ubs-launch-live-ethereum-platform-barclays-credit-suisse/

Although the cryptokitties still remains as the main factors why Ethereum network is still slow at the moment. Cyrptokitties went virus as a result clogging the mempools. There's even a speculation going around that Ethereum will have its own set of futures contracts as well. Let's see if this is true.

As for other altcoins, bitcoin has something to do with it. The surge in its price is trickling to the altcoins as well. There's also a great chance that new investors are coming into the picture as well. We are all doing good now.

1999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: December 14, 2017, 08:27:22 AM
Maybe in the past bitcoin might have got used into crimes. Now this has decreased a lot, and people has started to give importance to bitcoin as an investment that can be used for grow ourselves better in all perspectives of life.

Actually it has been used in the past already. Silkroad was built on top of bitcoin because they think that its really anonymous. But as the saying goes, crimes does not pay, they have been taken down already. Again, its not bitcoin was design by Satoshi, criminals sees loopholes on it and take it to the next levels.

And I'm sure that criminals would now take a second look because bitcoin is not completely anon, there are coins that is better than bitcoin if you want to hide your criminal activities such as Monero.

I don't think it will decreased though, it will still be there, however, just what I have said above, better think of other coins not just bitcoin if you want to be invisible to the authorities.

2000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big of a role does privacy play? on: December 12, 2017, 06:19:59 PM
You can still be anonymous if want. You just have to use your imagination. As for me I don't care if that transaction can trace back to me.

Care to share your tips and tricks?

I think if you are really into privacy thing then its better to used other coins such as Monero. But there are really people who doesn't care about privacy, maybe they are not doing anything illegal or they really doesn't care.

As for me, I used mixing services to hide my privacy in the network. It added a additional later and protection on my identify. And I'm not doing anything illegal but I just don't want people tracking my every moved in the blockchain.
