1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling on real gaming equipment: Testing technology on: February 05, 2020, 04:19:23 AM
The fact that you use real gaming equipments appeals on legitimacy, though you should show a valid certification from a legitimate and trustworthy regulatory on your locality to operate these equipments that would be supposed to be fair.

Once you established that, and proved us that you're trustworthy, then investors might reconsider your request.

Also, the payment in tokens doesn't seem to be plausible. These gamblers want a trusted way of getting back their investment. It's better to use BTC first before migrating to your own token.
1982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US marshals seizure of 4000 btc being auctioned, will start dump/run this month? on: February 04, 2020, 11:53:21 PM
The price getting dumped is a result of global exchanges' average price for Bitcoin, which is reflected from the Buy/Sell orders on these exchanges. Once the pressure on buyers is high (few sellers @ stagnant higher prices), the price starts to increase.

Unless these 4040 BTC is sold in exchanges in batches, and with prices stagnant and drives the price lower, it could actually dump the price. But this type of news selling those coins in auction, might get huge attention and drive the buying force (buy orders) higher.
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here dream of achieving their financial goal in life through gambling? on: February 04, 2020, 05:47:33 AM
Especially in national lotteries, or state-wide lotteries, there are some people who hopes on getting the right combination of numbers as a way out of poverty, and into the world of luxury, or if not, just a stable life. And there's nothing wrong in betting a small part on lotteries, as long as you still work to achieve your dreams. Purely relying on luck would not result to any success. I you won such, consider it a bonus, but don't make it your only plan to be successful.
1984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Promote bitcoin through any means. It'll work! on: February 04, 2020, 04:48:18 AM
Besides the effort in making quality content to spread Bitcoin awareness, we also must have enough resources to actually disseminate the material to a larger-scale of audience. Having the content would be useless if it's not shared properly and widely in different platforms.

Promotion is not also bound to creating multimedia, but even a simple talk with acquaintances would help.
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing 1$ every day in bitcoin over the last five years on: February 04, 2020, 02:43:01 AM
If you had been dedicated enough since release, then ROI would surely be high. But if you have invested right before the peak of 2017's bubble, you would have lost more than you could have gained.

Basically, investing regular amounts on regular intervals is what cost-averaging is all about. It does lessen the risk of losses and has high probability of gaining, but it still depends on the time and price trend upon your entry.
1986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shanghai Stock Market down 8% - Bitcoin’s On-chain Transaction Volume up by 45% on: February 03, 2020, 01:23:33 PM
Nothing surprising. Chinese stock markets would surely be hurt by the coronavirus outbreak. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is not really affected by such since it's decentralized market doesn't care that much on these crisis.

The outbreak is quite a huge story that halted and slowed down businesses, even from franchises to other countries with their company based in China. Especially those businesses offering Chinese goods, since the normal reaction of people to such virus is FUD.
1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police Forces in Belgium, France and Israel Stop Scam Promising 35% Returns on: February 03, 2020, 11:43:05 AM
I wonder why the article doesn't even mention local news sources. I'm pretty sure stories like this would have made it in main stream publications. With just estimated amounts scammed, this is looking like a made up story by the author. Not even the name of the group was mentioned and other relevant information. We have to be more careful of what we read these days, even articles from known crypto news sites are just pure rubbish Grin
The article is quite vague, but upon further investigation, the news have been sourced out of EuroJust. If you're interested, read it here: http://www.eurojust.europa.eu/press/PressReleases/Pages/2020/2020-01-30.aspx

The 6.6 million scam must be the total of all the stated amount by victims and their investigation when the members of the OCG has been arrested.

The news is quite new too, and to give you a gist, there's a total of 85 victims defrauded, and 10 personalities arrested.
1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: February 03, 2020, 09:00:51 AM
Although I believe in Pacquiao's speed and power, the age gap of almost 41 would be a hurdle to Pacquiao's possible victory. The energy and speed, and most importantly endurance, is just not the same as those golden days. Connor Mcgregor may have the higher chance, but would still be an interesting fight. The odds might be greater with McGregor as he is the underdog.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dutch gambling authority fines 10 companies a total of €3.5m this year on: February 03, 2020, 01:07:52 AM
These online casinos must not have any license, and with the prevalence of various platforms running in digital fiat and cryptocurrencies, made the numbers higher.

Though it seems good for the government to think about its people first before the profit that they could get on letting these casinos run. The quite large 29% tax would also regulate the number of operators that would be interested opening their business in the country.
1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: process vs outcome on: February 03, 2020, 12:36:24 AM
To be honest, it's all about the chances, whether you care about the process or not. They might only differ on how much chance you could win on a specific game or not.

In lotteries, the chances are pretty low. And you're definitely right, as the game does not have mechanics to play with, but rather is only playing with chances.

In other games, especially involving cards, it's still appeals only with chances and probabilities, but you could have other outcomes due to their mechanics. Though the chances you're playing with is with the cards you'll possibky get with each round.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter adds Bitcoin emoji when hashtaging #Bitcoin on: February 02, 2020, 12:34:23 PM
Twitter's CEO Jack Dorsey has been always known to be an enthusiast of decentralized systems. It also makes more users aware of Bitcoin, and seeing a CEO of their social media site that they're on bringing it into attention, could attract more curious minds towards cryptocurrencies in general.
1992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginning my pay in bitcoin on: February 02, 2020, 10:34:05 AM
Isn't 50% too much from your wage? I advice you to reconsider and recalculate your benefits and risk, and re-assess that 50% on Bitcoin.

However, if you don't care much about that salary, and have lots of extra money and liquid assets, and you just want to invest, 50/50 might be already good. It still depends on your situation.
1993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Change mainstream media's perception on "Bitcoin being used by thieves" on: February 02, 2020, 08:38:45 AM
That's difficult to achieve. Mainstream media is too influential to oppose, and they can manipulate and filter out the news to only publicize those negative circumstances happening in Bitcoin network.

While it's not false, the way they convey such news only and disregard the advantages of Bitcoin is where it goes wrong. And the public, of course, would always almost believe in what they see on these media, unless they have the initiative to do the opposite.
1994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin protocol be changed to allow for a larger supply? on: February 02, 2020, 08:08:03 AM
How is it not enough? 100,000,000 satoshis can be made out of a single Bitcoin? Even comparing to USD, and giving 100 satoshi an equivalence to 1.00 USD (accounting for the decimal places), it would be 1 BTC = 1,000,000 USD.

$18m BTC would be 18 trillion USD, which is far more enough, considering the total money globally is somewhere only at 5 trillion USD.
1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: February 02, 2020, 04:17:43 AM
A chance to avenge Donaire. Though crowd's favorite must be in Inoue's favor, giving greater odds to Casimero. Casimero's 5 last fights are TKOs and KOs, and proves he is on fire. Winning the title against Zolani Tete also set his grounds on Inoue.

He also has the power to bring down Inoue, but should always be wary. Seeing that shot on Tete that brought him down is plausible.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NitrogenSports forcing me to rollover my deposit once? on: February 02, 2020, 02:44:40 AM
While this is an unacceptable behavior, we can't do pretty much. There are no regulations for these gambling sites, and such terms are their terms.

The 3 day cooldown must have been more worth it to wait than risk your coins to forced bets. The support won't help you that much if it's their policy, but having your ticket considered would actually be lucky.
1997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Blind Person Access Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2020, 10:12:56 AM
It must still be in its early stages, but we're getting there. They are initiating the project with their main goal to translate the Bitcoin Whitepaper to Braille, and let people with visual impairment to understand what Bitcoin has to offer, and its significant differences over traditional banking systems.

While knowing what it actually is, having the power to use it is one more nice improvement for catering Bitcoin to those people.
1998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wrong to monetize a bitcoin/cryptocurrency seminar/meeting? on: February 01, 2020, 07:51:32 AM
There's nothing wrong with it. It's your right as the founder of the seminar. However, if you plan on monetizing your seminars and consultation, give at least a notice to participants days before the change. This is just for them to prepare and at least prepare with not being abrupt.

Though doing so might discourage participants later on, unless they are that dedicated in your opinion.
1999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 100 Days Left before Bitcoin to be more Scarce on: February 01, 2020, 07:18:50 AM
There are two sides of the halving. While many are hyping up around the anticipation that it would peak once more, miners on the other hand are planning on quitting being a miner because their profit is effectively reduced by 50%.

The price increases because of FOMO, and investors don't want to get left behind because they all expect the halving would increase the price. Thus, we see a bullish run every halving, a combination of hype and demand-supply idea.
2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you gamble? on: February 01, 2020, 04:31:24 AM
Only a couple of times, with smaller amounts. I'm not that up to high stakes, but only join to spend extra time and just for luck. Gambling at high stakes is one sign of addiction that I'm avoiding to get into. Just like any addiction, it is one dangerous game to play with, that disrupts your system and thinking.
