The latest attempt at trying to trick the masses into buying BTC by switching the units to mBTC reminded me of something: Bitcoin PR is pretty full of shit with the assertions it makes and as a result, the popular opinion around it. Bitcoin should have warning labels similar to cigarette packs - clearly visible on any exchange for first time 'investors': 1) WARNING: Purchasing bitcoins may allow government agencies to track your every spending 2) WARNING: Your money/BTC in exchanges can easily be stolen or frozen or hacked or not be withdrawable 3) WARNING: BTC is certainly not government-proof and can be severely hampered if wanted 4) WARNING: Bitcoin has no patents around its technology and clones can be created instantly and at no cost – the network effect primarily is what gives it a higher valuation 5) WARNING:An altcoin might gain prominence and severely impact Bitcoin value 6) WARNING: A better cryptocurrency is probably in the process of being created 7) WARNING: Your entire BTC wealth might be eradicated in case of computer problems or user error ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) WARNING: You are highly likely to be scammed at some point using bitcoins in cyberspace and nothing can be done about it 9) WARNING: Too large of Blockchain size/large mining pools can wreck Bitcoin integrity, quantum computers could jeopardize Bitcoin security 10) WARNING: No one knows what a bitcoin is worth and its price is purely being driven by Ponzi-natured speculation How about some warnings about the U.S. dollar: 1.) WARNING: Your dollar has a serial number which can be used to track marked bills. 2.) WARNING: Your money in exchanges, banks, annuities, etc. could be stolen or hacked or not easily withdrawable. 3.) WARNING: The U.S. dollar is not government-proof and could be easily debased by the government. It is not backed by anything. 4.) WARNING: The concept of fiat sovereign currency is not protected by any non-expired patents and can be easily imitated by any third-world banana republic. 5.) WARNING: A developing country's currency might gain prominence and severely impact the U.S. dollar's value. 6.) WARNING: A better currency has already been developed (namely, Bitcoin). 7.) WARNING: Your entire retirement savings might be eradicated in case of bank error, user error (you forget where you put it), your company going bankrupt and defaulting on its pension fund, or politicians changing the terms of your social security program. 8.) WARNING: You are highly likely to be scammed at some point using U.S. dollars in cyberspace or meatspace and often there is nothing that can be done about it. 9.) WARNING: Too-big-to-fail banks and central banks can compromise the financial system's integrity, lead to financial crises and bailouts. Quantum computers could crack systems used to secure legacy financial networks. 10.) WARNING: No one knows what the U.S. dollar is really worth since it is no longer backed by gold or anything else tangible and its price is purely being driven by Ponzi-natured speculation on the sustainability of the traditional financial/political system. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Yup, any argument against Bitcoin can usually be applied to fiat. There are plenty pluses for BTC against fiat though; can't be counterfeited, decentralised etc.

...If this guy is borrowing religion for a scam...
You repeat yourself my dear. Religion is the most insidious scam of all. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Well played, sir ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Having a halal bitcoin lender would be amazing for those who need it, giving a billion Muslims access to btc. If this guy is borrowing religion for a scam I would be a bit upset

These 'hackers' are just gunning for your hero, donor, and VIP and mod and admin accounts. Everyone else is worthless. Perfect for me. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm not sure this is entirely the plan though, maybe they just want to harvest passwords and try link them with wallets etc. Surely somebody would spot the abuse very quickly. Hopefully those kinda peeps should be immediately alarmed when they're asked to log in again without signing out.

I don't think he will show up at the awards ceremony.
Satoshi or Snowden? haha. Maybe Snowden is Satoshi; now that would be a twist. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmemecrunch.com%2Fmeme%2FDS4M%2Fwhat-a-twist-m-night-shyamalan%2Fimage.png&t=663&c=tM4nr0_4Ft3OYw)

what does he get for offering this many BTC anyways?
Facebook likes, apparently. It could be a really good idea. I've seen many-a-thread offering BTC prizes for likes and/or website hits, then they just disappear, and you get a load of newbs asking "y u no pay me, mr Bitcoin man?".

Personally, I think it should be OK to link to your own reputation thread and/or to one thread you were selling something in, but obviously Stunna is the boss here and makes the rules, but as others have said, I would like clarification on this.
Small font personal links/bitcoin addresses etc are allowed below signature. No other paid advertisement/ref links Awesome, thanks. I'm thinking in the future of linking to a thread with my own stuff for sale / rep thread, but if I do I'll post them in here first to see if they're acceptable.

How and in what manner are you choosing the winner? 3BTC seems like quite a big prize for this, so forgive my scepticism.

Hey all, I just recently had 2.4 Bitcoin stolen from my coinlenders account, and I'm curious as to what the best solution is for cold storage?
"Best" as in most secure/easy to retrieve/safe from real world threats (fire, theft, loss)
Thanks!
Maybe paper wallets and put them in a decent fire-proof lockable box and hide it safely.

So is it ok to have two accounts from one IP? I'm trying to get my bro in to BTC and I think him joining this site and trying to make some money via paid signature adds would be great way to do so, but I don't want him to do it if it's gonna look bad on me or stop me from posting.
Yup! Only if you get banned or are strongly believed to be a scammer do you lose the privilege to have multiple accounts from one IP. In fact, you are allowed to have multiple accounts as a single person, if you wish! Sweet, thanks for that.

I would never loan or borrow from anyone on here, but I have to say I spend 90% of my time on forum reading these threads and laughing my ass off!! Mostly from the comments making fun of the OP.
![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) We do our best haha.

The link takes you to a clone site which tries to steal your username and password. Make sure you hit the "Report to Admin" button at the bottom right corner of the PM.
Thanks. Thought that link looked suspicious.

Tip the cops?
Like I said before, I don't want to have to do that. I'm a reasonable guy, and hopefully he will heed my polite request, but if he doesn't; it's either a face full of piss or the po-po. Don't really want a rep of being a person who grasses peeps up to the police for smoking a bit of weed either, but this shit has got to stop.

This might be done to limit the number of accounts that can be created from TOR exit nodes with the specific purpose of anonymous scamming.
Why would one have to be anonymous here unless they have the intention of doing something sketchy. There are far too many people with way more bitcoins than the scammers out there that aren't anonymous. Makes you wonder... how about just blocking all Tor traffic? Not necessarily true, but I'd guess a larger percentage of people who use tor do so for nefarious purposes. Maybe some peeps just want full anonymity and for other security reasons. BTC is still in an largely undefined, unregulated grey area, and it's very likely governments are gonna want their cut of profits eventually and I can't see most of these BTC millionaires wanting to chuck money away on capital gains tax. No such limit exists.

It's 3:21 AM here in the UK and guess what? He's fucking outside coughing away. It's fucking freezing outside. If I tell him to stop soon and he doesn't I'm gonna fill a super-soaker up full of my own steaming piss, pump that mother fucker up like I'm having an angry wank, and lean out the window and blast him in the face with it until he gets the idea and fucks off. Absolute plebeian cunt. Any time I can smell it; he's getting blasted. tell him to look into vaporizers.. his lungs won't get nearly as fucked up and the smell is barely there.. and he still gets high as fuck. i think you get more bang for you buck from it too.
I doubt he can afford a vape. I often hear his phone calls when the debt collectors call and he refuses to pay his £25 or whaever that he owes. He must spend his entire dole money on weed. He's got three pair of trackies and that's all he wears. This guy really is Jeremy Kyle fodder.

Better than "Where is the Love"? You should check out their first two albums, before they "sold out" haha. Not discrediting, I actually kinda like Elephunk. As far as pop music goes there's far worse.
