Upcoming Bulletproof update should definitely make some excitement. Many will say it is already priced in, but i cant be really. There will be publicity about it and that publicity will be exactly about what is best in Monero.
This was exactly what I was discussing in another channel. A lot of people come and talk about better privacy coins and start comparing stuff to Monero, then they realize actually Monero is in constant development and catching up very quickly in some of the tech,,, just that they were not aware about it until they learnt. Monero has this thing that it makes headlines very well without marketing, because the adopters are happy to share. And definitely,,, none of this is priced in until the spikes happen! That, or it's already priced in cos there are no spikes happening... Think about it. Bulletproofs is already public knowledge. It may be public knowledge but the major impact this upgrade will have is probably hard to quantify until put into practice. People need to experience bulletproofs and talk about it to fully understand. Honestly, I fall into this category. Don't get me wrong, I go back and forth on this. It may not even be a blip on the radar come Oct. 18th.

As early as Tuesday. *There may still be an updated v0.12.4.0 GUI release prior to the fork. *Work is ongoing to create reproducible builds for Monero. Additional help is requested. *Next meeting is September 9th, 2018

Seems like bitcointalk is dying ... i had to look really hard to find this thread buried on page 6 or something
It's still alive and well. The same old folks lurking around making little snidbits at any news and occasionally poking trolls. You'll see some of the same faces over on reddit - seems to be the more active venue. Saw Gary proclaiming the power of Pyongyang over there this morning

hi man sorry my bad english, Do you accept amazon gift card payments?
No, I do not. BTC via escrow only I may consider it depending on how sales go here locally first. For right now - I'm going to hold off. Love protonmail by the way.

Some really good progress in the Dev Notes this week - https://monerobase.com/article/monero_devmeeting_2018-07-29Highlights All Bulletproof(BP) audits have come in. o No major issues were found. o Some optimizations were suggested. o All signs point to BP's making it into the next scheduled protocol upgrade. vtnerd has been working on a MessagePack(msgpack) encoding scheme to supplement JSON. o MessagePack is binary and is generally faster to encode/decode than straight JSON. vtnerd is continuing work on the ZeroMQ(0MQ) implementation. MoneroMooo is working on a blockchain ancestry application that calculates the cardinal of an output's ancestry. A lot of work is being performed on the GUI. hyc's new/testing Proof of Work scheme, randomJS, has been rewritten in C++ and is being tested in Wownero. Next meeting on August 12th.

Anybody know where aminorix is? He is out?
Possible he adjusted his future predictions and sold out, waiting for new generation blockchain projects to throw money at. No. I sold a little between 420 and 300 on the way down, but since 200 and through the bottom I have been a net buyer, looking toward the 600 to 1k range in 4q18 or 1q19. After a nice blow off top I may sell 1 or 2% again, but never all at once. I haven't really been tracking this much since now is the time for waiting and quietude. I am focussed on angel activities for the time being. XMR added to Ledger at recent, but Ledger didn't release the official app as other cryptocurrencies. Do you think in 4q18 or 1q19, Ledger will have the official announcement about adding Monero to their platform? And will that news can become the reason to increase the price of Monero? For me, I really hope the price of Monero can come back to $400 in the remaining days of this year Ledger functionality has been out for a while now. Some are rumbling about how the app has moved out of developer section into the main section today. Here's a reddit post by Ledger CTO giving a Soon TM timeline https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/8zbvcq/is_there_a_date_for_when_monero_is_live_on_ledger/e2i8kz7/?context=3

Hello everyone!!
I just bought 2 rx vega, the fantastic powercolor rx vega 64 red devil and asus strix rx vega 56.
I've been reading so many guides (boring and extensive xD, and also a little complicated for people with few time to tweak them), so I would like to get as higher hashrate on monero as possible but without flashing bios or using powerplay tables.
So, my first question is:
- How much could I expect from them with stock bios but overclocked as high as possible?
And also:
- Which is the easiest mode to obtain highest hashrate? Maybe doing like mate "Hellae" (post #513)?
"Got my 3 x Vega 56, with original BIOS, doing 1800 H/s (XMR) @ 160W each. Total system on the wall: 570W (cause iGPU is active)
The system is stable, mining non-stop.
64 bios only helps to increase power consumption... unless you use the Soft Power Table at Windows regedit. This method, way more complicated, will push the V56 to stable 1880H/s with slightly less power (560W for 3 V56).
Wattman Settings (Blockchain Beta driver): -30% GPU Frequency; 950 HBM Frequency; Fans at 3500 - MAX (Ignore core thermals. What you need is to have the memory below 70ē to keep the high hash rate. An undervolted gpu will be fresh enough to not auto raise the blower speed, hence not cooling the memory. At 25ēC ambient temperature I needed 3500RPM set at min speed); Power Limit -20%.
Globaldrive settings (Blockchain Beta driver): Crossfire disabled; HBCC on, at max memory available (I'm with 16Gb RAM)."
Thanks in advance!!
I'd hop over to the newest drivers. They work fine and give you better control. Don't be scared of powerplay tables. OverdriveNtool is your friend.

Soon TM - It's fantastic news. Good to see more HW wallets competing for the space.

I saw that. Has anyone used / heard of that wallet? Agreed - great for them (and xmr) if they can get it to work.

Hi Guys, figured it out, Vegas are very sensitive. So what I finally did after spending hours on this was to add an Nvidia card. This is an old Nvidia card from an old PC and now I'm hashing 1800 h/s per card. Just took forever trying to figure it out.
Pretty weird that your solution to fix an issue with your AMD GPU is to install an NVIDIA GPU. Your problem probably had to do with AMD driver's compute mode settings. Possibly, you were using a driver version that required you to manually turn on "compute mode" but then this was automatically done for you because when you installed a new GPU, the AMD driver settings also screwed themselves up in a way that made your GPU run on different drivers (do you have the aug. 23 blockchain driver also installed?). Most likely he added the older nvidia card to handle the machines display output. If you're not using onboard video and relying on one of the Vegas to power display output, then you're going to see hashrate drops and will need to lower intensity on the card driving the video to prevent crashes. Just guessing from experience - though I don't use Cast. Now if he is feeling adventurous flash them to 64s, tweak the powertables a bit and hit 1950-2000 hash/card

0.12.2.0 tagged for release. https://github.com/monero-project/monero/releases/tag/v0.12.2.0The reddit fam are thinking with this release a more official announcement of ledger support will occur. May add a little today on the pure hope that ledger support isn't fully priced in. Assuming that affects price at all.

I'd be interested in a few and would be willing to join pre-order. Haven't rolled the dice in a while. This could be fun.

Is this nanopool only or have you noticed this on other pools?

Newegg had powercolor vega 64 cards for $619 before MIR and with a far cry license. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Should be Samsung hbm and a good cooler. If I hadn't just bought asus rog strix I would've picked those up instead.
I'm getting about 20 h/s more per gpu after 18.5.1 driver upgrade.
Currently 2025 h/s vega 64. 1408 core and 1100 memory clocks. I don't know how people hit 2080+ without pushing clocks higher than what I'm at.
Are you using SRBminer? What intensity levels are you using? And how cool is your hbm? My flashed 56's are doing just about 2000 h/s at 1428/1140. Would be interested in hearing others Vega settings on SRB as well.
