21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Can I Buy USDT in Canada on: December 27, 2018, 05:56:36 PM
AFAIK the only place to buy tether with usd is from their site directly. If you're really having issues why not just buy bitcoin and then sell that bitcoin for tether? I'm a little confused as to your motives for holding USDT.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Price Speculation for next bull run on: December 27, 2018, 05:55:04 PM
I don't think ETH will remain as the most demanded alt-coin and I think by the time we reach new heights it will be replaced. Therefore I don't see a price that much higher than the previous ATH. Maybe $2500 at most. I think it could be outside the top 10 within 5 years.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Rally into Constantinople Fork / Alt-Season (Risk on) on: December 24, 2018, 04:51:05 PM
Alt Seasons are normally followed by bearish overall market seasons. I'm not sure that ETH has the sway to bring the whole market with it, which is what appears to be happening right now. Maybe a fall for other alts is on the cards but not BTC or ETH.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Altcoin for 100-1000x returns by late 2020? on: December 23, 2018, 10:31:21 AM
Only a handful of coins will have such a strong return in that period and to predict that will be near impossible. You need to look for game changing coins, the sort of projects that are most likely going to 0 but have an outside chance of being the next big thing.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ico fund raising on: December 22, 2018, 09:34:21 AM
Does the amount of money raised in an ico determine the success of the project??

Is a necessity to do a fund raiser in order to start up a project??

Did satoshi nakamoto and vitalik also started a fund raised??

I'll only answer Q1 because the other two have been answered perfectly well enough.

I think it can be used as a determinant but it can go both ways. In theory only the most promising projects will raise a lot of money because they'll have the most interest. But it can lead to complacency on the part of the developers as they're already set for life with the amount of money they raised. Personally I don't believe that the majority of projects need anything more than a few million to be developed and worked upon. BTC is an example that a great project doesn't need millions of funding. Even ETH had very limited funding. Other projects today like EOS raised hundreds of millions of dollars and it all just seems unnecessary to me.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy value and not price on: December 21, 2018, 02:16:31 PM
Buying something because it has a low price is a measure of value but not a very good one. There are much better ways to identify coins with potential to grow. I remember during the bubble last year that almost within a week all well known alt-coins under 100 Satoshi's pumped hugely, I assume as new money was trying to find projects that could be the next bitcoin in terms of growth. What they neglected to consider is marketcap and the underlying project.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can I earn 1 bitcoin in 1 year through bounties ?? on: December 20, 2018, 09:51:00 AM
This is very much unlikely. Assuming you're not breaking forum rules you'd need to be a very high rank and be participating in the very best of campaigns. I've maybe earned $1000 or less in 1 year of signature bounties. Still it's a great addition Smiley
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2018 in 4 Words – ICOs and Ethereum Are Dead on: December 20, 2018, 09:49:15 AM
ICOs aren't dead. There will be another ICO boom when the next bull market comes around. Right now they're struggling because there's very little new money in the market. ETH isn't dead either but it could be replaced in the next year or two by one of many looking to usurp it.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bright future for Ripple? on: December 17, 2018, 04:03:50 PM
Seems like holidays will bring us more presents this year.

We are noticing and uptrend of XRP/USD. Following a strong 6% increase, it is $0.31. Quite a good news, considering the fall this weekend till $0.29. What is bothering us that XRP/BTC charts, but thats not for long. XRP has noted very strong gains over the past few years and the next bull run could be very spectacular, it could reach $9 in a few months. But its to early to say so of course, considering the current situation on the market.

I still have high hopes for XRP!

Whats your thoughts people?

There needs to come a way for XRP token to be integrated in to all of the banking agreements etc that Ripple have in place. If this happens then it will be no 1 valued token in the market. I still think even if that happens BTC will be better because it is truly decentralized.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that market is oversold and bounceback soon? on: December 16, 2018, 10:19:36 AM
I think a lot of altcoins already reached rock bottom, especially the low marketcap coins, because there are so few sellers now and many buyers. I think high marketcap coins could fall slightly further but that overall the market is oversold and will bounce soon. But just because the market is oversold doesn't mean it will change quickly, sometimes it can remain so for months on end.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves knock out Ethereum on: December 15, 2018, 06:03:10 PM
Waves has been performing markedly in the current market, it's highly impressive. But for me it seems a little late. They should've been getting the recognition a while ago and before long I worry that another blockchain will surpass them. A bear market isn't a good market to steal away market-share from another project.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What crypto products do you use on a daily basis? on: December 14, 2018, 12:53:30 PM
I don't use any crypto on a daily basis as of yet, unfortunately it's not reached the level of acceptance that it makes it feasible for me to do so. While I believe in crypto, I won't pay above and beyond what I would pay for in fiat to use crypto.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: No bull run this year?! For real? on: December 13, 2018, 11:07:09 AM
Most of the people said in this board there will be no bull run in the late of 2018 and there is a high probability that bull run comes in mid-2019. What's your thought about it?

I agree, the bull run might be even later than mid 2019. 2019 as a whole will probably be fairly slow and steady, maybe culminating in a 100% marketcap growth over the whole year. Nothing akin to 2017.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to buy Ripple? on: December 13, 2018, 11:05:31 AM
XRP won't ever reach such heights. The problem with XRP is that ripple and the token are not linked in any way. They have probably got better adoption than bitcoin when it comes to their tech but not when considering the cryptocurrency.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: KFC Venezuela Accepts Dash Cryptocurrency, Joining Subway and Papa John’s on: December 11, 2018, 12:19:02 PM
I think countries like Venezuela are the perfect target for cryptocurrencies gaining acceptance. The citizens of these countries have first hand experience of how a FIAT currency can fail them and by now probably realize that their wealth is better protected in cryptocurrencies. I suspect that the merchants in these countries then convert any crypto they receive in to a more stable fiat such as USD.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS Surges 16% Over the Weekend, Eyeing Extended Gains on: December 10, 2018, 04:29:24 PM
EOS obviously had some of the biggest profits in the last few days because it was one of, if not, the biggest faller from the top 10 coins in the last few weeks. It's just a normal bounce, if the market goes back to falling then EOS will presumably again be among the hardest fallers.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: December is coming no real growth for alts yet... on: December 09, 2018, 10:24:02 AM
It seems like this December there will never be a bull run because a bull run will never happen if there is no good news, and now it is very difficult to be able to recover the price.

The bull run isn't tied to news. There's been some very positive news in the last few weeks but the market is so bearish that it doesn't respond to it at all. Think of it like a snowball rolling down a hill, it just gets bigger and picks up more speed and it will take something huge to stop it in its tracks, more likely it will just reach the bottom and over time melt away as the warmer weather comes around, then slowly it will evaporate and that's the bullish movement.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 Golden Opportunity - DOVU - The Real Sleeping GIANT of Blockchain on: December 09, 2018, 10:21:32 AM
SCAM coin. Ico price was $0,11 now the price is $0,002.
They hit $1 in januari 2018 and everyone dumped.
Price is almost 500x lower then januari 2018 that says enough. Coin is dying.

There is almost no trading volume.
7 Wallets are holding 90% of the coins !!

You guys are here to let people buy this coin and dump on them.. I see many new accounts last couple months here to promote there bs coins.

There are a mountain of coins that did the same, it doesn't 100% mean they are a scam. The 90% of coins thing is definitely alarming but it could be that they're all coins reserved for founders or operation. That would still be a high and worrying number but it's better than it being in the public at that ratio.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 Golden Opportunity - DOVU - The Real Sleeping GIANT of Blockchain on: December 08, 2018, 07:43:41 PM
Depending on the scale and scope of their agreements under NDA this project could blow up. I'm always apprehensive of such agreements because we don't know if they're just small deals to work with them for free or perhaps major partnerships that will bring millions of dollars to the project.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019! Perhaps the year of the rise of the Stablecoin on: December 07, 2018, 03:01:18 PM
i think pretty soon we are going to see an oversaturation of lots of centralized coins that are called "stablecoin" which are not even stable. it has already started too if you look at the previous months you can see some are released and some are being worked on. and i believe it is another bad thing that is going to happen to this market mainly because they are all centralized and pretty bad.

We have no need for more than just a few. As long as people can rely on them then there's not much need. Maybe USD, Gold, BTC (an ERC20 coin), EURO and maybe KRW given the size of the Korean market.
