161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Apple have been discussing the posabilities of using Ripple [XRP] on: December 20, 2017, 07:27:45 PM
Just a little heads up.
I work at apple and have been in a couple of discussions around Ripple and how it can save the company millions in transactions with Chinese suppliers. I can't reveal too much as this could come back to me but let's just say that we are currently considering some options.

HODL!

Sorry but I don't believe this all too much, firstly you're new to the forum so you would have to be an employee who went out of his way to break the rules of the company that can easily get you fired, to then find a forum that's not hugely well known to share this information.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BUYING COINS on: December 20, 2017, 07:20:10 PM
What coins are best to buy right now that you think the price will really go high?

It's a hard market for me to predict right now because a lot of coins have pumped, I would look at KNC, they release in Feb 2018, any coins with major releases or updates coming up are always good. Bitcoin is also well priced right now for me. Expecting to see 20k soon once this FUD disappears.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: More economic coins on: December 20, 2017, 07:08:16 PM

There are some alts that are very cheap .. they have not grown in the last period, but they have great potential:
ARK   very low price huge potential, soon will do x2
Neo    sweet sleep It will arrive at $ 50 by the end of 2017

From these two coins I expect a large price increase in the coming days-weeks

These look like good calls and I don't want to take anything away from them as they were right but I can't help but feel it's just because everything pumped in the last week or so, I don't think anyone who made a prediction for December would be incorrect if they were speculating on an alts growth.

I will remove my signature now, hopefully I can keep my previous stakes and I wish you well. Perhaps I will rejoin nearer to the ICO date but 2.5 more months is too long for me to partake.

Hello, I have a question regarding the signature campaign, it says that we can leave and our stakes will still be counted. Is this for only a limited time or can we leave the campaign indefinitely? I believe in the campaign and would like to see it succeed but if ICO is postponed I may decide to support another campaign with my signature as I do not want to wait many months for a result.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price Sudden Rise on: December 05, 2017, 04:02:29 PM
Hello, y'all.

Its true that bitcoin keeps increasing in value, but I would like to know why the value increase has been better and faster in the last few months and even reaching a new all time high

Well firstly the price increases should be considered relative to current price so a $1k price increase now is much less significant than a $1k price increase in June for example. Bitcoin has continued to increase adoption and recently news of futures markets opening up has sparked even further positivity and caused the price to rise even further.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin reached $100! on: December 05, 2017, 04:00:57 PM
This is big maybe most of you don't remember the price was $4 during the start of the year and this is not the first time it has reached  $100 in august as well the price but it couldn't maintain it and fell to $50 by September.

What does all these figures indicates , well if ltc is able to hold this price mark or somewhere around $90 it has a full potential to go all the way to $400 by July 2018.

As we all know btc has higher transactions fees and takes lot of time to confirm ltc is the perfect substitute for btc and can have a really good future.

$400 by July is even quite a modest estimation, the price has gone over 25x this year. If it can do even half of that next year we will see litecoin at over 1k by the end of 2018.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum - Is this gonna be big? on: December 04, 2017, 03:43:50 PM
I don't think that it will turn out big. Mobile mining isn't something worthy and their token distribution method was very weird in my opinion. I disliked it so hard. It was lame.

I disagree, I feel if they get mobile mining right and deliver on what they said they would it could be one of the things to take cryptocurrencies fairly mainstream, think about how many people want a passive income and have a mobile phone handy?
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BUY IOTA FAST on: December 04, 2017, 03:39:49 PM
we mooning soon, get to the rocket while still on the pad, uoyvw been warned guys

DAMN.

Even Justin Biebers bought IOTA.
I really have to rethink about buying more of this coin.

This may become the big on price coin if its being adopted by some big names. Even IOTA has teamed up with Cisco , Volkswagen , Samsung for the launch. Going by this names it should be growing soon and the price will be rising very quickly. This will boost the sale of the coin when such big players join the coin. Seems good to invest a partial amount in this coin.

Long term I feel this coin has great potential but I can't help but feeling that the price at the moment is based mostly around hype and that in time it may come back down before continuing upward over time. I hope I am not wrong or I will end up with 0 IOTA
170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Bitcoin with Altcoins is a bit challenging to me..help out! on: December 03, 2017, 02:43:23 PM
When and how can one trade Bitcoin against Altcoins, I learnt there are so site that offer signals but i haven't come across any one yet. Please if anyone here has a site of that nature please share it with me thank you.

There are many exchanges, check out some of bittrex, binance, etherdelta, those 3 should cover a lot of the coins you need to trade. I would avoid trading using signals from others as these are often used to profit for themselves. If you really want to try it there are many groups to be found on platforms such as telegram but I don't know any my self.
171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Guys, stop using stop orders on: November 30, 2017, 11:25:20 PM
Indeed..

That's why shorting should be illegal.

That said, when it's an avalanche on all exchanges it seems legit enough. An avalanche on one single exchange would look more suspect.

& who even knows if this wasn't a test for the "Bitcoin futures" guys (or alike) to know how predictably they can bank on dips..

Why should shorting be illegal? It is the same as speculating on the price increasing. I actually think it was simply just a normal crash, yes of course there were some stop orders thrown in there but not enough to see the falls that we did, at least not in my opinion.
172  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin 10.000$!!!! What's Next? on: November 28, 2017, 11:26:03 PM
Bitcoin breaking the 10k barrier is just the beginning, I think this will bring in a lot of new money and we will soon see bitcoin pushing towards 15k. I think we can reach 20k some time in the next 6 months as long as there are no major problems.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs, not Bitcoin, are the bubble on: November 26, 2017, 08:49:27 PM
I feel that the ICO bubble has already been and gone, there were so many successful ICOs in the early part of the year, now I feel that the ICO market is struggling because of that, ICOs are trying to raise too much money and are failing in doing so. I think ICOs will come again in 2018 with another wave of very successful ICOs and large profits for investors.
174  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you start your first deal? on: November 23, 2017, 05:52:06 PM
I'm a beginner who's about to start trading, and I'd like to ask you how you started trading Grin Grin

I'm going to assume you know how to actually place an order etc and are more asking how to decide where to trade first. Well firstly decide if you want to buy for the short or long term, if you want to look short term which is what I initially did then I looked for coins that were near or at an all time low which had relatively high volatility.
175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to learn how to trade on: November 21, 2017, 07:15:08 PM
I think too many people are saying that first you must read so much and watch such videos until you have perfect knowledge. The fact is that you will never have perfect knowledge so for me the best way to learn is to actually do some trading, start small and get to know the markets, one day you'll feel confident to add more money, if you haven't turned your small amount already in to a substantial amount.
176  Economy / Economics / Re: The best investment you ever made? on: November 20, 2017, 05:30:40 PM
The best investment I ever made was to put my time and knowledge into learning about Bitcoin and to actually earn out of it. With this decision, I have made lots of money and I now am planning to create something out of it, say, an offline business. There is so much to learn online, and you will be surprised of how much money you can earn just by sitting pretty in the comfort of your own homes whilst responsibly paying your bills and getting your life fixed all at once.

This is the investment I am now making, it is not an investment so much in terms of money but an investment in yourself in terms of your time and your commitment. I hope to one day look back and say that this was 'the best investment I ever made' but even if not it will be a worthwhile investment because it always gets you further on in your progression and prepares you for what comes next.
177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is 1000 btc Possible on: November 20, 2017, 05:28:06 PM
I think its possible, but as time passes by, its gonna be difficult as well because the price keeps rising. That's why those early adopters have advantage to all of us who are late comers because they'd able to accumulate much bitcoin in there wallet literally like thousands worth of bitcoin and now its millions. So for us to really have 1000 bitcoins, we should also invest more, as opposed to early adopters that bought bitcoin for quite a cheap price.

It's not possible for regular people like me. I can never have that much bitcoins. I only earn small amounts. I you hit something like 1000x, you can make that much money, but how will that happen? Very unlikely.

Yes it is not possible for a normal people like us. Only the rich people can make this much bitcoin by investing in a huge amount. Or else we have to win a big jackpot multiple times not single time then only it is possible. Right now I am struggling to make 1 bitcoin so for me this is never possible.

Nothing is impossible but certainly the odds are far against us compared to people from the earlier days or even compared to the OP which was around 18 months ago. The thing we perhaps need to aim for is instead of having 1000 bitcoin aim for having 100 bitcoin and this can still be worth a huge amount for us in the future. Once we achieve our first bitcoin maybe we will find in time that the next is easier, we can then target 5 bitcoins and then 10 and then 20 and so on. The sky is really the limit if we work hard and keep faith.
178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the right time to cash out? on: November 19, 2017, 09:26:13 PM
I was so nervous that when bitcoin price dropped to 6000$ I was scared to loose more and withdrew my coins only to regret later that it became 8000$.
Please help me with your advice /opinion.

Well one of the first things that is really important to be able to do is try and remove your emotions from your decisions, you mentioned that you were fearful of losing money and having such an attitude will always hold you back in your decision making. The same can be said for the fear of missing out (FOMO). All of your decisions need to be taken with a clear and rational mind and that will enable you to have a much better chance at succeeding. It is important that you learn from your past decisions and constantly evaluate and improve.
179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Road to 1 BTC with 0 fiat investment on: November 19, 2017, 09:23:58 PM
Hi,

In last august I've started a self-imposed challenge; reach 1BTC with zero fiat investments. Trading crypto is potentially a very effective way to increase crypto assets but initially I faced the problem that I didn't have anything to trade with. As the WWW offers many possibilities to earn money, I planned to first scrape some funds here and there from the internet (Google Adsense, paid tasks, etc) and subsequently enter the cryptomarket with the earned amount.

I crossed the threshhold of $100 on the 1st of october. Yes, it took me over a month to earn that small amount of money as I don't have any special capabilities I can utilize on the WWW. As october progressed, I threw those $100 or so on the cryptomarket but also kept earning on various places on the internet. When november began, the total amount had increased to roughly $400 and I made the bold decision to throw it all into one altcoin (Waves).

As we're now past halfway november, the initial amount I put into Waves has grown to over $700. My strategy is quite simple: hold until this altcoin has launched the value of my online assets into the thousands of USD. When this is reality, I'll allocate parts of my funds back into BTC and also in another promising altcoin. The phase I'm currently in is quite risky as I could face a significant setback if Waves decides to nosedive.

I'll update this thread if any major developments occur in my journey towards 1BTC (and perhaps even beyond).

This is a really awesome project and can really go a long way to inspire many and show that they too can achieve such things. It would be really great for the community if you could include more details as to what it was you did for the initial $100, sort of like a guide. You could really change the lives of many if you give them the confidence to pursue such things, while for many one bitcoin won't be a life changing amount (at least not yet) for others who are less advantaged it can make a huge huge difference.
180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do people actually buy coins with real life money? on: November 15, 2017, 06:23:15 PM
Now when BC is sky high and ETH also pretty high. DO people even give their real money for those currencies. I mean give 300$ for 1ETH or 6000$ for 1BC is too much for most people.
I mean how often do people buy crypto currency like ETH and BC

All the time, if you look at the daily trade for these currencies it is absolutely huge, while $300 or $6000 may seem a lot to you, to others it is worthwhile to purchase at those prices.
