21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's off again on: January 02, 2018, 09:27:26 PM
Nice little jump up to almost $15K
actually all the top 10 has gone green on bittrex,
Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Moneto, Dash, its all good  Grin

Still not convinced that this is the new floor yet, but I think the sub $10,000 threat is getting smaller.

Big jump in price in the last hour

What a ride Bitcoin is

Seems to have stabilised around £11,000, lets see if it holds it this time as a new floor.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin going mainstream had the opposite effect than I predicted. on: January 02, 2018, 08:47:48 PM
Instead of the new people looking at bitcoin as a method of payment, they mainly look at it only as an investment.

Bitcoin only has itself to blame for not being a method of payment, but the value runs higher if Bitcoin remains an investment asset class. A currency can't have wild swings. A currency needs to stabilize and then have only modest gains year over year. People won't spend something today that they believe will be worth more tomorrow.

It's pretty much almost nothing but lambos now. I fear the day that bitcoin's price becomes stable for months, as the dumb money might all cash out.

What's wrong with this? When the dumb cash out the smart come in from the sidelines and bid the price back up. The best thing Bitcoin has going for it is that its value won't erode over time due to inflation in the money supply...that reason alone is enough to make Bitcoin an excellent alternative for savings.

Agree

And Bitcoin will stabilise at some point, Right now it is massively under priced for it's potential, when it gets there and banks have had their bums spanked and Bitcoin is as mainstream and used as fiat is today a 10% rise in a year for Bitcoin will never be seem again, definitely not in an hour like now  Smiley
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Rise again in January? on: January 02, 2018, 08:18:26 PM
In my opinion bitcoin will rise up to $22000.
Yes, I agree with that idea, it is likely that Bitcoin will increase in January, it has fluctuated at a level that has not increased and dropped for quite a long time, now let's wait for it to increase and to expect. Reach the profits from it
Yes I also agree with that. Bitcoin being more recognized by many people and prefering to it as a source of income so maybe it will help bitcoin to be promote in other country or people that dont know bitcoin yet. And i think bitcoin popularity helps also the peice to rise up because ot its demand.

Now that Bitcoin is mainstream, and it is mainstream, we now have to wait for the masses to see what we always see, Bitcoin drops and gives us a little fright and always comes back stronger. It was a big coincidence that when Bitcoin went past $10,000 and the mainstream media was talking about it 24/7 when it suddenly tanked yet again for the whole world to see what a dangerous thing Bitcoin was.

Part of me thinks it was stage managed.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Rise again in January? on: January 02, 2018, 08:12:28 PM
It will not. It is currently going down because of some bank cases and cryptocurrency is banned among other countries. With this type of decrease in demand, it is nearly impossible for this time that bitcoin will reach 22000 USD.

Reason of drop is not bannings. Even when there were bad news from China, it didn't effect the market as you all witnessed.

The reason for the drop because it was the end of the year. If you see the price graph historically you will see that every end of the year happens the same thing. I expect that in a week or two it should become normal.

I love it when mainstream "bad news" is thrown at Bitcoin, it feeds on it rather than suffers.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Rise again in January? on: January 02, 2018, 07:40:34 PM
There's alot of impatient short-term investors in BTC right now. If we don't see any sudden spike and/or major positive news/hype, these investors will leave BTC for fiat and stabilize at anything between 1K and 7K. But if we suddenly see sudden pumps and/or major positive news/hype, it could go as far as 20K within the next couple of months. Due to the extremely volatile market and so many new investors it's impossible to say.

I think there is a lot of money out there right now waiting and wanting Bitcoin to go lower before buying in. I was expecting a bigger over due  bear run, but it just keeps fighting back. I think a lot of people in a few months or maybe even weeks will be kicking themselves for holding off. It's always been Bitcoins way, the big jumps come out of nowhere

In my opinion bitcoin will rise up to $22000.

I had no doubts in my own head that Bitcoin after the great year it had in 2017 was going to fall back a little, as it did in December. It never concerned me much as I knew it was only the day traders taking profits and those with little bottle chickening out. I think there is a lot of money just sat on the sidelines now waiting for a bottom to buy back in or for the first time, a dangerous game in my opinion. I think for a week now we seemed to have reached a floor which could last days, weeks or even months(unlikely). I think the next Bull run is going to be just like the rest and come totally unexpected, as I type this I can see a sudden 10% increase.

I expect at the least to see Bitcoin at $55,000 by the end of 2018
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin going mainstream had the opposite effect than I predicted. on: January 02, 2018, 06:56:38 PM
Unfortunately though, the "mainstream" we are currently achieving isn't the kind of "mainstream" we're looking for. Instead of the new people looking at bitcoin as a method of payment, they mainly look at it only as an investment. Which is depressing if you ask me. It's pretty much almost nothing but lambos now. I fear the day that bitcoin's price becomes stable for months, as the dumb money might all cash out.

I have to partly agree.

But!  Smiley

I have always thought the way this is going to play out once all the hard work is done, somebody/something is going to see a beautiful payment system and currency that is  all boxed up and waiting to be used and jump in and be the first to use it followed by others. I can see no reason why a small once corrupt and problematic country with skills or a product use it as their main currency.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin going mainstream had the opposite effect than I predicted. on: January 02, 2018, 03:09:59 PM
I have held Bitcoin for quite a while now and done very nicely, OK there was the dip in December, but you won't hear me complaining after the great year we have. I have also studied Bitcoin best I can, and apart from it being a great investment in my opinion it also has the power to do so much good in this evil bank ruled world.
Bitcoin never ceases to amaze me and more often than not does the opposite to what I thought it would do. When Bitcoin was attacked by JPMorgan in August along with China closing exchanges I thought we had a year of downside to contend with, wrong. I have always thought that when Bitcoin arrived at the eve of it going mainstream I thought all the real fun would start, and I believed it did go mainstream when it $10,000 in December, well it did in the UK and I am sure the USA was the same, it was all over our mainstream news. But what happened, it took fright and there was a big fall and a slight rally and now it is flat lining.

What a great ride owning Bitcoin is, but I am All in and going all the way Smiley
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason behind Bitcoin Dip (Crash) on: December 22, 2017, 09:53:35 AM
I would like to understand the main reason behind the bitcoin dip/crash (whatever it may be). Currently BTC is trading at 12.5K on preev.com, and I am beginning to become scared as to what the near future may hold for bitcoin.

Is this a Bitcoin crash? Or is it a crypto crash too? Is it just the holiday season or something else? We can also see on coinmarketcap.com that in essence, almost ALL alt-coins are also down by a similar amount in %.

Hold or sell, what do you think?

PS: Please don't just spam this thread with:"Sell now, it will crash" or "Don't worry, it will go up". Base your points on facts that drive the discussion forward, not just general terms that have been already written down many times before.

There is no particular bad news out there that warrants a big drop except one, and that is after a brilliant year some of the day traders are now taking profits, risky profits I might add. I have been here before and worse, in the early years where I held Bitcoin I nearly took fright and pulled out, I held me nerve though.

Bitcoin is just finding a new floor now, and once it does it takes little time for it to start rising again. The strong good fundamentals behind Bitcoin remain, have faith. I have always been buy and hold and am irritated, but except day traders . Put things in perspective and remember where Bitcoin was at the start of the year
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / My Bitcoin success is now worrying me.. SECURITY? on: December 17, 2017, 08:36:03 AM
I heard a little about Bitcoin years ago and stayed away from it. I was still cautious about Bitcoin early in 2017, but realised that it was rising fast in value. Rather than try and understand Bitcoin fully I just excepted that it was rising fast and it looked like it could go much further, so I invested a small but substantial sum.

We all know what happened next, apart from a scare in August, WOW!!
When I actually put my money into it my research began properly, yes I know that's daft, but I just listened to the clever people that loved Bitcoin rather than the grey suits in the banking industry who had every reason to hate it and just did not seem all that clued up on it to be honest.

I also now think Bitcoin is ethical, genius and a potential to be a massive force for good, but most importantly and selfishly for me a brilliant slightly risky investment.

Now here is my question and concern and I would love some advice good or bad. My small but substantial investment is now grown into a very nice sum in my ONE [Suspicious link removed] wallet, and that scares me a little to be now bordering on a little paranoia. I have never spent Bitcoin, I have never exchanged it back to £ pounds and the biggest worry for me that all that money is sat in one wallet in a company that is in another country.

I need now to start thinking security, for example how much should you have in one wallet, should I be using an online wallet, are [Suspicious link removed] ever reputable?
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: best time buy BTC???? on: September 15, 2017, 04:00:55 PM
I am going to hold off to the 30th Sept, even though I am tempted to buy.

OK, I have lost some of the gains I made, but I am in quite a good mood, why?

1. There were some nervous people out there after the last few months gains

2. That idiot from J P Morgan spreading lies

3. China

We have had a rough few days and look whats happened in the past few hours, bitcoin rising again. I am not saying yet that buyers are thinking it has handled that load of bad news and looks good again, but there are good signs.

I will be buying more in the next few weeks, I might even be tempted to go earlier, not yet though
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will you buy Bitcoin? New Poll - September 15th on: September 15, 2017, 12:56:28 PM
I have probably made the decision not to but until the 30th September, said so on here a few times today. But I am starting to think that bitcoin has handled the recent few days of bad news along with a steep rise this past few months very well.

I am going to stick to my guns and wait, but I am starting to have a few second thoughts, as I type it has risen $300 plus per coin, will keep my eye on the charts, but getting tempted. I am starting to feel the more dark forces try to destroy bitcoin they end up doing the opposite.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we buy now or sell? on: September 15, 2017, 10:27:21 AM
I would hold off buying until the 30th September, most of the selling up will be done by then and if the drops don't go much lower than $3000 things are going to start looking good.

Yes people are now looking for the bottom and a new opportunity to buy, I am one of them, but why buy now when you know the price might go even lower. This was always going to happen guys, the price went up too fast.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BItcoin end or destroy in this month?? on: September 15, 2017, 09:51:15 AM
Looks guys this is quite simple.

Bitcoin has made some huge gains this year, the nervousness was out there for a bit of a fall and it just took any old bit of gossip and slight issue to set it off.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we buy now or sell? on: September 15, 2017, 09:46:22 AM
Like I said before I am both happy and a little sad. I am sad because I have lost some of my gains and happy because I was aiming for maybe 3 or 4 bitcoins, looks like I might be able to get several plus now
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will Blow, See you in BTC 1 = $400 on: September 15, 2017, 09:09:53 AM
I am two things at the moment

1. A little cheesed off that I have lost some of my gains

2. Happy at the same time that I could now end up buying far more bitcoins than I thought would be possible
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason Behind BTC Price Drop on: September 15, 2017, 07:42:25 AM
Is this the near end for bitcoin though?
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening again? The market is looking all red! on: September 13, 2017, 01:03:28 PM
Hello guys,

What is really happening the market all red?

Woke up this morning with my full confidence that market will continue to recover but it didn't!

Can someone explain to me what is really going on because the market is not recovering, instead going to the hell again, more deeper!

Thank you.

Sadly I think we are in for a fall for a while, anything up to 50% off peak is my guess. Don't worry, it will recover though sooner than you think
