21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] [ANN] Physical Litecoins by CryptoVest (Coming soon!!) on: May 22, 2013, 11:17:20 PM
I'm sure it can be made. Look at the detail of other coins.

@ thecryptokeeper

That is amazing. Just absolutely amazing. I was tossing up between Zino's and Likehero's however that design takes the cake by a long shot and would have my vote as well if it were possible to actually print it. I have a feeling it wouldnt be possible though =(

You might be right actually, perhaps CoinHoarder can let us know if its possible to put that coin in for the running? I have a feeling it would be overly popular.

Oh BitJohn, i'm so happy to see that you were the first to respond, you advocate you. =)

Though, to keep on topic a bit; good effort by the dev, it's sad to see people just abandon their coins like they mean nothing.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why did worldcoin take off, and not, say, royalcoin? on: May 22, 2013, 12:21:13 AM
Aragami, I was referring to the first service launched
http://www.igotspots.com/Worldcoin.html

Aragami and Anderl look a bit similar dont they? =)

I'm glad the Dev's aren't absent like CNC. That guy was like a ghost.
Can't believe btc-e took in on so quickly.

CNC dev's are a mysterious entity, not sure if they even existed in the first place, CNC might have been the result of biological warfare from an unknown area of the universe.

But on a more serious note, if you look at what CNC and WDC had in common, you'd notice the massive network hash rate they both achieved early on. Nonsensical amounts of users hashed out WDC recently as high as 1.6GHash i believe? CNC had a similar effect with a tonne of users throwing massive hash power into the CNC world. The conclusion you can note from this is rather simple - if a new coin has a massive network hash rate then exchanges will notice and most likely adopt the coin (take note of FTC as well).

RYC achieved high hash rates too, but only ranging from 300-500MHash i believe at its peak? Feel free to correct that figure, not 100% sure about it. But what i'm sure about is that WDC peak hash rate > RYC peak hash rate by a large amount.

Also, when network hashrate started to dropped, WDC's diff dropped, very quickly, to compensate

Holy shit guy, stop multi-consecutive posting in multiple threads just to get your post count through the roof. Your posts are not constructive and add no value to any of the threads you've posted in at all, not to mention you can barely construct a sentence to make much sense anymore.

It's absolutely shitting me that there are so many people out there like you that are spamming decent threads full of shit posts. I've refused to use the "ignore" feature for as long as i feel i could, i honestly dont think i can hold back anymore.

Interesting that Zino kept the actual font of the characters used - i think thats where the criticism was from a few people (bold and round letters making it look playful).

Perhaps people would prefer a less playful font of the words used in Zino's design ?

Btw CoinHoarder, make sure you announce pre-orders if you decide to go through with it, wouldn't want people missing out. Especially me =o.

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With WDC now on exchanges. What do you see the future bringing? on: May 21, 2013, 05:42:52 AM
Guys, BitJohn has already changed his avatar to the digitalcoin symbol, i think its a hint.

WDC has entered the final stages of dump and is only going to get more and more worthless from here on in. If you're all interested in the next big investment then check out Nibbles or DigitalCoin. Bunch of possible $$ in those new coins. If they pick up enough of a hash rate then they'll be noticed by exchanges and then they'll get listed - simple as that.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Physical Litecoins by CryptoVest (Coming soon!!) on: May 21, 2013, 05:34:23 AM
I'm making somewhere between 2,000-4,000 coins in the first batch (2 to 4 denominations, 1000 coins each.) It depends on how many funds we have available at the time the final order is placed.

I have come across extra expenses in the form of programming/design/website design that has brought down the total amount that I can make, as I was planning on making 4,000 originally with 4 denominations. I might get a pay advance from work so that I can make full set of coins in the first batch with 4 different denominations. But I am not sure yet if I will do this, as I need money to live on as well and my budget is somewhat thin. Cheesy

Thank you for your thorough opinion.  Smiley

I would very seriously be interesting in pre-paying a preorder to help cover the expenses so that you wouldn't have to be so out of pocket.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 4 x 7950 Power Issues on: May 20, 2013, 11:24:13 PM
The main problem is that your buying Bronze level power supplies.. they typically don't give you the power they advertise.

Take the new one you got back and invest in a gold coirsar or seasonic unless you want your very expensive video cards to die Smiley

I would question your credibility in the area of PSU standards if you think Bronze certified PSU's do not provide the Watts they advertise. Not to sound harsh, it's just that standards such as the 80+ bronze/silver/gold/platinum exist for a reason.

I believe whether a PSU is gold or bronze has absolutely no bearing on the advertised Wattage that the PSU can dish out. If you check out the spec differences between a bronze and gold PSU for example, you'll notice the difference is in fail-overs and safe-guards mainly as well as efficiency levels. Total Watts supplied has absolutely nothing to do with a PSU's level of 80+ certification. A PSU will dish out whatever amount of Wattage it advertises, efficiency in supplying that power is a different story (this is where 80+ comes in).

I highly recommend reading this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus

Again, sorry to sound like an ass if i did, i just dislike it when inaccurate information is provided.

As someone that loves the concept of a good BBQcoin, this chatbox flavoured BBQ sounds delicious.

Just another +1 for the approach the creator used in terms of block difficulty + reward for the early blocks. Excellent idea and i think it worked out really well.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In other News BTC is taking off on: May 18, 2013, 02:34:54 AM
Sorry to say, but WDC is Joffrey at the moment IMO. I feel it doesnt particularly offer anything more to the table from other coins except for super quick confirms which is one cool thing... but super quick confirms also means super bad security - really not sure how i feel about it.

It's making a bunch of money because people are hyping it up a lot and it had a smoother release than any of the other retard-clone-coins released over the past week or two which is good, but doesnt change the point that its not innovative at all. It's just another clone coin with low confirms.

When things like MC2 or that other coin (IO coin i think?) get released, those may be interesting investments as they're being developed by people that do more than just change a logo and title. Those will be truely interesting coins when they get released =) pretty excited for them.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Physical litecoin - could use some feedback on the design on: May 17, 2013, 02:16:53 AM
Hmmmm considering im most likely going to personally be purchasing at least a whole roll of these coins, i should probably leave my input Tongue

To be honest i really like both. The leafs give the coin more of a timeless, mature and respectable look whereas the star one looks like something from Mario Bros. Thing is, i like Mario Bros, so im torn >.<.

I have a feeling the leafs may be a better overall choice. Great designs btw.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitGem, the precious scrypt PoW/PoS cryptocoin. on: May 16, 2013, 10:51:09 AM
I'm actually just going to straight up ignore it to be honest. It doesn't seem particularly innovative, just a waste of time - the amount of new coins this past week has been ridiculous.
