If Casascius had a bitcoin for every Bitcoin news article featuring an image of one of his coins...he'd have a lot more bitcoins! I think that has been one of the largest impacts of his project, even if it might be misleading to the first time reader.

Almost exactly one year ago, April 5, 2012: I remember how a $40k btc bidwall seemed huge, but now a $200k USD bid is just 1200 coins. Bitcoin: From Rags to Bitches.

This needs a poll.
Is there a way to add a poll to this topic or do I need to create a new poll topic?

A Facebook cover photo would be great!

Unless you guess want to keep this private, I would record the handing over of the keys and post it for the world to see.

Every time word "bubble" is mentioned on this forum the bust is postponed by one day. In other words it simply cannot be bubble when everyone is saying that it is a bubble.
That's what I keep telling my friend who is convinced of a Bitcoin bubble yet he plans to buy cheap BTC after a crash...There won't be a real crash as long as there are people like that.

Amazing article. I shared it with some people as a good introduction to Bitcoin.

Proudhon is actually Satoshi. He's just trying to be modest about his creation.

Would someone be so kind to do a similar thread for parity with the market caps of U.S. stocks? I'm waiting for us to equal the market cap of Facebook

By microtransactions, I think they are talking about buying items like in TF2, not as in users sending money between each other.

If you were using a service that lumps all BTC together in the first place, then it's your fault.

$400,000 is pretty cheap.

Which is better for energy consumption vs profit?
All these guys growing weeds for sale of the Blackmarket should just mine, no?
One is legal the other not.
Grow lights, pots+plants, plant food costs a lot probably the same as a diy mining rig.
It would be funny to see which would end up getting you more BTC: selling weed on Silk Road vs. mining Bitcoins.

LOL. Looks like people want to hold on to their coins rather than spend them.
and you just learned why deflationary currency is a terrible idea. But if the value in Bitcoins are rising, then the profit bitcoinstore.com made off of previous sales is rising rapidly as well. It's a win-win for them either way. They will get much closer to their goal because of appreciation even if they have a decline in sales.

Facebook's market cap is 63.10 B...we're just getting started.

hopefully the PPA gets updated faster than last time, it was three days after the release before us linux guys got it.
Who maintains this PPA anyway? Is there a way we can verify the .debs from the normal packages just to be 100% safe? Is it possible to run the linux bitcoin client 100% portably off a flash drive?

Probably good, especially for merchants who are uncertain about legality.
