I got 50% of my portfolio in ETH and I continue buying it by all means cause it is similar to buying bitcoin when it was $400.

Man, it is the only coin that you should invest in IMHO.
It is improving fast and they already do so much transactions as all the coins altogether (including bitcoin). For me, bitcoin is an old slow elephant while ethereum is a young jaguar

There are a lot of people who believe in Litecoin and I'm the one of them.
It will grow and it has much more potential than bitcoin. It is better already and it will be better tomorrow if they will continue that pace.

It is naive to think that it won't collapse. It is overvalued. And someday there will be a huge correction. I don't want to spread fud or something. I'm just trying to be objective. Think about it. Crypto world now is a huge battle where a lot of newcomers are trying to make something better than Bitcoin. So, there are some projects like Ethereum who have perspectives to beat Bitcoin because of their technology. |

Bitcoin price is growing only because of high popularity.
If ethereum would become as popular as bitcoin, it would cost much higher cause it is technologically better.

I invested a reasonable amount of my stack there so I hope it is not a scam. I checked all the information and these guys seem to be legit. Hope they would expand soon and provide a nice profit.

I acquired some Enjin today, I have been following this project since before ICO. But like most ICOs the price will eventually drop below ICO price, which is a great opportunity to buy. Going to hold long-term, maybe get some more if the project shows some success.
Yeeeeah, that is the truth. Now it is reasonable to wait and buy tokens after ICO, not on the main event. That is how I bought BMC, PRG, REQ and some others. But I had a mistake with one ICO - thought that Raiden will be lower the ICO as many others but it made a good profit already. |

Bitcoin Gold? What the heck is that? I've never heard of it before. Btw, on marketcoincap, BTG is assigned to Bitgem.
IMHO, Bitcoin Gold is better than Bitcoin Cash that's why I want to invest in it while the price is still affordable. They have a nice idea to marry BTC and ETH with some of their benefits but it seems the coin is dead. |

There is no "safe" crypto-currency. All of them are risky. If you want safe investment options, then you can try assets such as the United States Treasury Bonds and bullion metals such as gold. If you still insist on altcoins, then I have a few preferred ones - such as Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold and Monero.
Come on! Are you serious about BTG or BTH? That is not a good advice for a novice investor. If he insists on altcoins, we can recommend him to pay attention to top-10 coinmarketcap - most of this coins will grow in long-term. Probably, there will be a few new players while time passes. But still, it would be better advice (of course, I'm not saying it's not risky. Any of this coins could drop like a hell). |

I do not think ethereum will be the future. I think bitcoin wil keep it's place for a long long time. Ethereum could be in the top ten of the best, but it won't be the real deal in the future.
And what makes you think so? Have you seen how many advantages ETH has over BTC? I see that a few messages earlier it has been described, but still it has much more growth potential than BTC. And there might be 90% projects running their ICOs on ETH blockchain which makes it much more popular. And I'm not saying about the guys from Raiden and Universa, who work on speed improvement that will make Ethereum way more faster. So, how can that be that BTC which hit $7500 is better for long-term investment than ETH which is in the beginning of its growth with ~$310? |

I looked through all the thread and I understand that nobody would give the good advice for free (but you won't lose your money if you give it thou). And, of course, it is true that one can invest in BTC in long-term and it would be a solid investment. But I don't understand why Ethereum is not as popular advice in long-term as Bitcoin!
Let me clear my point:
- ETH is not "another one" altcoin, it has a track record
- it has a strong community behind it
- it has a better technology than BTC (just look at how much ICOs are based on ethereum blockchain)
- these guys are solving their growth problems while BTC community is stuck in political games
There might be some additional points so far. So, why do you think ETH is not as solid as a BTC?

I believe there are good answers posted already about what is ICO. My two cents: as it seems to me, because of the steady growth of ICOs nowadays, there are several parts of the project that can make good ICO happen: 1. team 2. unique idea and vision 3. prototype 4. smart marketing 5. strong community If all of this parts come together, there is a chance of nice and profitable long-term ICO. |
