Knowing the beginning of a thing gives one more idea about it, this is a very wonderful project which will help enlighten people more about Bitcoin and encourage them to invest in it, history is very important in life it gives one the knowledge of how a thing started and were is going, if this project of your's is established which I believe will be, it will give Bitcoin a new face of bigger success and establishment.
Your journey is a great one keep going.

Thanks, I will keep going until it is finished Cheesy

I have barely been active in the past months so I missed the updates completely until now and I just saw you now have a deadline.  Congratulations, this is persistence and I hope it will really pay off well.

Depending on how the sales will go, do you consider writing some sort of 'expansion packs' for the History Book after the release of this one?

Yes, it depends on sales and my own motivation. It has not been easy for the people in my life who have spent less time with me. If it pays off well, si be it. Ultimately, I look forward to the finished book.

Thank you for your praise for my efforts  Grin
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [READ] Bitcoin history from 2008 to 2016! on: April 13, 2024, 03:17:45 PM
I know you have mentioned that you plan to write the book to cover up until the 2024 period and will release in September this year. Given that you originally started writing this book a few years ago, I imagine the "final year" to be included in the book has actually slowly increased. Do you think that once you publish the book in 2024, you will make continual annual.updates?

No plans yet to release annual updates.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [READ] Bitcoin history from 2008 to 2016! on: April 13, 2024, 01:39:12 PM
Bitcoin history pages from inception to October 2018 fully complete. I anticipate 2008-2019 complete this month.

Other yearly chapters are currently in annotatee draft format. I look forward to finishing 2020-2023 by the end of June 2024.

Please send feedback on the 2008-2016 content, and don't forget to support my efforts (read opening post). I will do my utmost, whilst working full-time hours for my day job, to finish the book in the summer.

Thank you to all those who have already donated to the book. All your names/aliases will be listed in the book.

It looks like you are putting a lot of effort into the book. I like that you have done a thorough job of researching, especially the first few years. Some criticisms:

  • 1. Too much orange. I like the idea of orange accents since that is Bitcoin's color, but it isn't really a very pleasant color and there is just too much of it.
  • 2. There is too much emphasis on the price throughout the book. I like the price tracking in the side bar and I think that notable events regarding the price are appropriate, but I feel like yearly fiat price history sections with the graphs and the tables showing the monthly changes are too much. Anyway, that's not something that people are going to read because it is just data.

Have you considered a Kickstarter campaign rather than asking for donations?

Let's just say I cannot please everyone. The book content is the way it is. Thank you for your feedback.

Who knows more about Bitcoin after reading the above 128 pages (2008 to 2016)?

I look forward to feedback and hopefully community support.
I definitely commend your effort in dedicating the time and putting in the effort to start and complete a project of this sort just to immortalize BTC and yourself as the author for centuries to come.
Am sure many people will have had such an idea but am seeing yours as more comprehensive and indepth as it should because you actually belong to the right community and have access to first rate information.

There is still much more do do before September 2024. It has not been an easy journey, but the challenge writing was worth it.

I would recommend you consider getting some professional artwork done

Bad advice to spend money on something that will not increase value.

Nothing wrong with OP artwork, and the draw for this book will not be for the artwork.

Thank you for your comments. I think the book cover is simple and sufficient.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [LEARN] Bitcoin History 2008 to 2016 [Link Inside!] on: April 06, 2024, 11:54:41 AM
Just finished the first half - a fascinating read.

Looking forward to purchasing the full book.

Hoping for more history on the variants that came from the block size war (noting that you've only released up to 2016).

Some feedback:

• In my view, some of the fiat-price history data points could be removed, maybe 10% of them.
• I'm not sure about the vertical end-of-year fiat price charts
• All the screenshots are great - of now defunct websites etc. Maybe more screenshots of the bitcoin client, etc? A screenshot what it looked like to mine a block?

I have doubts on how the yearly chart pages look. I'll give it some thought  Smiley

Yeah have a good easter 🐣.  I will be reading the pages tonight thanks.

What are your thoughts?

It is not the full book. I am the kind of person who shares resources with the community, not expecting anything in return. It encourages others to be generous too.
I understand your idea and it is good to share but you will feel bad if someone steal your intelligent products even you are ready to share at start.

On 18th August 2008, a helpful and trusted educational resource located
at the www.bitcoin.org domain address was registered at 13:19:55 UTC. It
was registered and originally owned by Satoshi Nakamoto and Martti

used allowing domain addresses to be anonymously bought .
I think it is better if you use "Bitcoin Protocol".

I really like what you have done. You did an in depth research into bitcoin and left no stone unturned. The inclusion of sidebars and concise notes throughout the book creates an engaging conversational tone, as if I'm in dialogue with a you as you take your readers through the fascinating journey. Imagine the book to have up to 1000 pages because as at page 128 were are still in the early years of bitcoin. I thank you. Kindly do well to copyright your book.

Only 300 pages Wink

I appreciate good work when I see it and what I would like to encourage is that you do this as a legacy to your name. Your children and future generations will always make reference to this book upon completion and publication as this speaks about the future and history of the worlds first and most valued coin, Bitcoin.
Also, am hoping this book be published both as pdf and hardcopy. More power to your elbows.

The book will be in paperback and hardcover versions (release scheduled for September 2024).

Congratulations on this work, I'm planning to read it but there's these things irl that I've got to focus on that makes me not sure that I'd be able to do it, I might donate someday soon but not right now given that I have some needs, I will link this book to my crypto groups outside the forum though, helps that you're getting more visibility.

Thank you
