21  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: 3% faster mining with phoenix+phatk for everyone on: June 27, 2011, 06:08:41 PM
5830 980/600 running a 70 deg fans 55%

produce 290 Mh ...

No change under guiminer after update of the kernel file ...

going back to original file ...

good luck

did you edit bitminer.cl in the guiminer folder?

NO! has a strange format and not editable with "normal" MS editor .. just edited phatk kernel.cl
...

Strange format is actually the same as phatk.cl but without 'enter's'. Just press CTRL+F, type fist part of string to change and after u find it replace with what u have in first post. Works well for me ( values arent much higher, but more constant (387 instead of 377-385). If you want I can post here the file.

Works also for POCLBM, just need to edit bitcoinminer.cl and change very same line.

PS.
Add it to first post plx.

25  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Slow down of GPUs (85% usage) on: June 24, 2011, 08:58:24 PM
Hi there,

For today my problem is:

When running two GPUs they cant be set with argument -f0, because GPU usage drops to around 80/93%. Im wondering, if there is something wrong with my rig or its common problem.

Spec:
XP sp3
C2D E7400 @2.8GHz
Gigabyte P31-ES3G
CC 11.4
SDK 2.1 (same problem with 2.4)
poclbm (poclbm with phatk, phoenix got this problem even bigger)
GPU1: 5850 Xtreme
 -f30 -r5
currently avg 380MHash while both cards running, solo 387MHash (on same '-f')
GPU2: 5870 Vapor
 -f2 -r5
currently avg 419MHash while both cards running, solo 435MHash (on same '-f')
26  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AOCLBF (was Phoenix Rising): Front End GUI to Phoenix/POCLBM on: June 24, 2011, 07:26:07 PM
Argument - platform - tried (otherwise it wouldnt start). But AOCLPM finds GPU as idle (compared to 370MHash on Guiminer with same settings and platform)
Heat - 62C lower card, 71C higher ( when it was alone i had it working at 76C with higher clocks)
Nothing is limiting performance, cuz when only one of cards is working its 99% usage all time.
27  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AOCLBF (was Phoenix Rising): Front End GUI to Phoenix/POCLBM on: June 24, 2011, 06:14:50 PM
Tried your tool with old poclbm, poclbm with phatk and phoenix 1.5.

Results:
All worked fine, but none of programs want work with 2.1 SDK (I have also installed 2.4 SDK), even when old poclbm is working fine on 2.1 SDK.

Second thing - when using old poclbm with same settings as via cmd or Guiminer I'm getting worse results. Its connected somehow with GPU usage, which was about 10% lower. Other programs had same issue (huge GPU throtling (up to 40%) compared to about 5% of Guiminer/cmd). I'm not sure, if its miners itself (phoenix and poclbm with phatk), cuz I didnt checked it via console, but I assume that its same issue as with old poclbm.

BTW got any idea, why miners are so much throthled down?

XP sp3 32 bit
C2D E7400 @2.8GHz
5850Xtreme as main
5870Vapor as second card
Settings old poclbm
5850X- -v -f30 -r5 SDK 2.1 (380MHash)
5870 - -v -f2 -r5 SDK 2.1 (421MHash)
Settings poclbm with phatk
5850X- -v -f30 -r5 SDK 2.4 (max 380MHash, avg 350MHash)
5870 - -v -f2 -r5 SDK 2.4 (max 415MHash, avg 405MHash)
Settings phoenix 1.5
5850X- VECTORS AGG=10 BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false (avg 320MHash)
5870 - VECTORS AGG=12 BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false (avg 390MHash)

Everywhere worksize - 256

Hope I helped somehow in testing.
28  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Using poclbm With The phatk Kernel on: June 24, 2011, 11:20:44 AM
Vista x64 - working.

Tried to insert it also to Guiminer, but some error found that cannot find module wx. Anyway, its working with AOCLPM, so not so big deal.

Works with XP x32 also, but couldnt get better results when both cards are running (they are throthling down about 10% more than on same settings, which are also best for this version,  with Guiminers poclbm)
29  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - updated host address for slush's pool on: June 24, 2011, 11:04:33 AM
Added poclbm_phatk version to guiminer folder and new error came up
Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "guiminer.py", line 14, in <module>
ImportError: No module named wx

Any idea whats wrong here? I'd like to get it working, cuz Guiminer looks better than AO~ something.

Poclbm has backup feature now. Just enter their thread, go to source and u can see there 17 june version. It just need to be compiled.
31  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / New POCLBM compiling request on: June 23, 2011, 10:44:25 PM
As I found out there is new poclbm version (17 June).

Whats new:

Supporting backup server (YaY). Thing is, that this version is not compiled. Can someone write little tutorial how-to ??

New poclbm is available at:
https://github.com/m0mchil/poclbm

Just making big advertisement of it. Grin

Does 1.5ver supports backup pool (--backup=...) like the newest poclbm?

Where did You find poclbm that supports backup pool? Please support me with link.
33  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AOCLBF (was Phoenix Rising): Front End GUI to Phoenix/POCLBM on: June 23, 2011, 06:21:02 PM
1. Need option to select miner please.
2. Convert speed of poclbm to Mhash (string to integer, value divided by 1000, integer to string)

Also, when share is submitted in poclbm speed at OSD is wrong (it needs some way to remember last displayed value and displays it when share accepted ( not when connection problems)).

Too much OC'd card or? Was working at 1000 core for 2 days, now this error shows up in less than 2 days at 990 core.

Other strange thing. My card stopped 30 minutes ago due to verification failed error, but page showed that last accepted share was 6h ago (when I checked hour ago it was working as usual)
37  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more [~2500 gH/sec] on: June 23, 2011, 08:47:40 AM
EDIT: Others already noticed.

Something is wrong with current block time stats. It says its 4h long, but my workers made only 80 shares each, 240 shares total @1.2 GHash speed. It didnt refresh I guess.
38  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more [~2200 gH/sec] on: June 22, 2011, 12:36:16 PM
Damn i my cards always loose connecting and to geht them back i need to press stop minig and then start mining manualy -.-

Check if u have in console "verification failed..." This would mean, that U OC'd too much your cards. Always, when I permanently lost connection it was connected with too much OC
39  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more [~2200 gH/sec] on: June 22, 2011, 09:04:54 AM
"You generated 1.73603316 BTC in the last 24 hours."

Statisticly I should get 1.21 BTC per 24h. This means luck !! Thanks eleuthria for your great job

How about 2xdifficulty shares solution? Do u still consider it? More servers means harder DDOS attacks I guess.
