Good morning Bitcoinland.

Page 33333 for those who care. It's been a long fun trip.

My prediction is that 1 bitcoin will still be worth 100M satoshis.

How many hours do people waste mowing lawns?
I do enjoy the exercise, but at the same time we are in the process of coverting the yard to a farm.  The test plot of lettuce is coming along nicely.

Excellent choice. You can't eat grass and lawns can be labor-intensive. They're also ugly IMHO.

Exercise is good but why not spend it in something you can actually eat? Perennial food plants are best of all. Less work.

Sunday haiku time?
I guess I'll have to try 'em.
Maybe they can rhyme.

Rhyming disorder?
The eye of the beholder!
Odder and odder.

Must not be fussy
Which leads to being bossy.
Real rhymes? Declasse!

So let's go Bitcoin.
Start the new rally going!
Have I made my point?

Tight g7, players were nervous out there and each bounce near the net was heartstopping. Jimbo is more of a baseball guy, but Canada's metropolis sucks at hockey. Must get tiring, eh?

But really Jimbo, can we come and skate at your lake next Winter?

Indeed, I've been a ball fan since the mid-1950s but I didn't become a hockey fan until the Leafs started winning the Stanley Cup every year in the early 1960s. I guess you could call me a bandwagon fan. I did however watch the Canada-USSR series in 1971 and usually watch both the men's and women's Olympic teams.

Every year I say I'll start watching the Leafs when they reach the Stanley Cup finals and every year they fail. It's the Curse of Ballard. This year I tried getting interested early and watched game 7 against the Bruins. Again they failed.

As for skating on Lake Bitcoin, forget it. Even I can't get in during the winter. My deep-snow snowmobiling days are over. Also you cant skate when the snow is 3-4 feet deep.

This Sunday's haikus rhyme!
Enjoy!

ChartBuddy lost touch,
But soon came back with a punch,
Screaming Edvard Munch!

CZ got jail time.
Roger Ver charged with tax crime.
I say: "This is fine!"

Ramen from now on...
Michelin restos are gone!
Calm before the storm?

Roubini and Schiff,
They play tough and they act stiff.
Delayed disbelief!

Touch rhymes with punch? Time with fine? Gone with storm? Stiff with disbelief.

C'mon. At least in limericks contrived rhymes are imaginative:

There was a young lady from Exeter
So lovely that men craned their necks at her.
One was even so brave
As to take out and wave
The distinguishing mark of his sex at her.

A pansy who came from Khartoum
Took a lesbian up to his room.
They argued all night
Over who had the right
To do what and with which and to whom.

GOOOAL! is soccer. football  (ftfy)
if we are talking "proper terminology", then it's ... (see above^)

"Football" is a broad term, used for FIFA, NFL, CFL, AFL, IRFB, etc.

It's more specific to refer to the FIFA variety as "soccer".  Cool

GOOOOAL!
Sorry Jimbo.  First game I've watched live in years.

GOOOAL! is soccer.

The proper terminology in hockey is:

He shoots he scores!
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: May 04, 2024, 04:14:38 AM
Hooray.

We're in the top 100.  Cool

I also picked a heck of a day to come home and mow the lawn, not turn on the old PC.   Smiley

That's why I prefer to live downtown.

No lawns. Just herbs, berries and flowers on our rooftop.

No lawns since 1980. Lots of trees in our country places though.

How many hours do people waste mowing lawns?

Bitcoin’s gentle rise,
In my heart, gratitude blooms,
Serenity’s prize.

#haiku

Real haikus are more than just counting syllables, just as real limericks are more than just a rhyme scheme.

Real limericks should be ribald. Slightly contrived rhymes also help.

Real haikus should be lyrical, almost idyllic. Yours is.

Your rhyming of the first and last lines adds a twist. Good job.

As I said, predictable.
Soaring to new highs in the next year or so is just as predictable.
To be frank, I don`t want to bother about the dip because I see it distracting to me in accumulating more bitcoin, I was made to realised waiting for the dip dumb especially when i haven`t gotten anywhere in my bitcoin holdings, I will just buy now and anytime because I know one thing that is predictable in bitcoin is that, bitcoin will continue to raise with time

Indeed. Waiting is silly.

I've said it before and will say it again even if it seems repetitive:

Buy whenever you can and sell only when you absolutely must, regardless of the price.

Who? Mainstream social media "influencers"?  Cheesy

Did you repeat yesterday's chart because today's fell out of the top 100?

The recent halving took place and shortly after, we are witnessing a 10% drop in the price of Bitcoin.

So, is there any truth to the comment about the "predictable post-halving dip"? Let's take a look at the historical price action of Bitcoin following previous halving events:

First halving: November 28, 2012 - The mining reward decreased from 50 BTC to 25 BTC per block. Bitcoin's price at the time was around $12.20. Indeed, in the months following the halving, the price of Bitcoin dipped, falling to around $6-7 by the end of November 2012. However, by the end of 2013, the price had skyrocketed to almost $1,000.

Second halving: July 9, 2016 - The mining reward was reduced from 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC per block. Bitcoin's price stood at approximately $640 at the time of the halving. Once again, a temporary decline occurred, with the price dropping to around $550 by the end of July. But by July 2017, Bitcoin's price had soared to $2,550.

Third halving: May 11, 2020 - The mining reward was halved from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC per block. Bitcoin's price was around $8,750 at the time of the halving. A similar pattern emerged, with the price dipping to about $8,600 by the end of May. However, by April 2021, Bitcoin had reached a new all-time high of over $64,000.

Now, following the fourth halving in March 2024, we have witnessed another price drop of 10%, as mentioned earlier.

Based on this historical context, it seems that the comment about the "predictable post-halving dip" holds some weight!!

As I said, predictable.

Soaring to new highs in the next year or so is just as predictable.

Yes it's an excellent time to sell your fiat currency while the price is high.

Take your profit in Bitcoin while you can.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Nice to see Chartbuddy back. Thanks Richy.

The predictable post-halving dip is right on schedule. Glad I bought my tax-time dollars when a bitcoin could still get 64k of them.

Hopefully by the time I need to buy some more in early June dollars will be cheap again. This dip shouldn't last too long.

Go Bitcoin go.

Edit: I just noticed I passed 4k activity.

4k merit is easy... just make decent posts. 4K activity takes time and regular posting.

Leafs managed to pull off a win

Don't get your hopes up.

The Babe Ruth Curse in Boston lasted 87 years. The Billy Goat Curse in Chicago lasted 71 years.

The Curse of Harold Ballard is only 57 years old.

As far as I can tell talkimg seems to be back to normal once again; Buddy should wake up soon.

Thanx. That explains Buddy's absence.

Now what about everyone else? This place is like a graveyard.

Buddy, Buddy. Wherefore art thou Buddy?

Richie? You didn't murder our premier WO contributor did you?

Hopefully he's just been busy working on his tax return.

I sure hope he's OK.
