I just had a look at previous September dips during post-halving bull runs.

In Sept 2013 it dipped about 19% from $149 to $121 (on its way to $110 on Oct 2) before soaring to $1100 before year's end.

In Sept 2017 it dipped about 40% from $5k to $3k before soaring to almost $20k before year's end.

Yesterday's little dip is just par for the course.

Go Bitcoin go.

A boat, some bait and some fishing gear. Man, I wish I was there. That would take the edge off.

No hay problema.

Lots of fish.

maybe some HODL motivation meme gifs? Much appreciated.

You got a bargain ballcap for 0.4 BTC?

That's including shipping and import (in CAD, at the time CAD and USD were at a par).

Why do Americans insist on listing the full price for customs? The Chinese always mark things as "gifts". I guess Americans love to pay taxes.

I'm broke.
A brake of my car got defective, also the lawnmower, gotta pay therapy bills (fully refunded, but later in october).
I will still continue with lump-sum spending next month, though.

Car? Lawnmower? Therapy?

Next thing you'll be saying you have a job and a mortgage.

Dude, you're doing it wrong.  Cool

His crashed Duccati that he bought when BTC was $700 per each.. looked pretty damned nice too... and gosh, you might wonder why some peeps never make it even close to fuck you status.

But they have a lot of funzies along the way...  and might be crying a lot when they are in their 50s that they do not have much of anything and they are also not feeling like working so much, either.. .... but do they have a choice at that point?

To each their own, no?

hey JJG, why the bad vibes?? I really enjoy reading your walls of text, and I usually adhere to your toughts. But this negativity surprises me.

Let him enjoy his wealth. Carpe diem they say.

He's not the only one, quite a few of us bought things with bitcoin. Buying something is better than losing your bitcoins gambling them on exchanges. At least you get something to show for them.

That's better than nothing.

1 month rental apartment 1 bedroom junior size $30000

bought a $900K miner from HashFast Inc. Technologies, LLC back in 2013.  Roll Eyes

I visited a friend yesterday and saw the bike that I had gifted him. a nice $180k bicycle. not sure if he really knows what it means to ride germanys most expensive bike.

i bought like 5 games off steam when they took btc. id have to check the prices at the time but probably comes 15-20k USD per game at this price point today. so call it say around 100 grand.

I guess my $20k ballcap wasn't so bad.

Actually we should be proud of our part in making Bitcoin bitcoin what it is today.

We may not have bought 10kBTC pizzas but we all chipped in.

It's so nice for my 2nd favorite thread to be relevant again.

Go Bitcoin go.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Back up over $50k... currently $50640USD/$63424CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Let's see if we can put $4xxxx behind us for good.

Go Bitcoin go.

...Real life is keeping us super busy lately with everything we have going on with the Ranch build...Rick is retiring on Tuesday...
Congrats on Rick's retirement.

Amen. Emancipation from wage slavery is a wonderful thing.

It's also an opportunity to get things done. Employment is such a waste of time.

$50K is being such a tease right now.
What's your country coordinated Universal Time (UTC)?
Bitcoin has been trading around $48k and $49k range, I am curious where you got $50k.

Huh?

It was at $50390 USD per bitcoin a little after 14:00 UTC at Bitstamp.
893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 02, 2021, 08:38:56 PM
regulators are coming down hard on centralised exchanges with KYC/AML demands. Dex swaps cost an arm and a leg for every swap.... As I see it, either I have to pay enormous amounts of coin for trading OR I don't get to keep my data out of the hands of these "safe exchanges" that get hacked every other week and/or sell my info?

Is that about right? Anyone got advice for me?

Yeah. Avoid trading.

Keep your Bitcoin safely offline in cold storage.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

The battle for $50k rages on... currently $49661USD/$62595CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Less than 3 weeks until autumn (N. hemisphere).

Go Bitcoin go.

I know, if Laszlo hadn't spent 10k in pizza and everyone at their time had hodled instead of putting up faucets, probably today we wouldn't be here :

Everybody remembers Laszlo and his 10kBTC pizzas but how about the British dude who paid for them with his credit card and got the coins?

Anyone except Laszlo know his name? Is he still hodling most of those coins?

It takes two to make a deal, a buyer and a seller.

Someone realized early the potential of Bitcoin and put his money there. He deserves equal credit.

..."carbon negative" mumbo jumbo.. what a bunch of baloney...

Hey. Don't diss being carbon negative.

I figure 400 acres of dense boreal-transition forest has enough trees to offset all the carbon that my John Deere Gator, my Honda ATV and generator, my Stihl chainsaw, and all my various woodstoves and campfires dump into the environment (not to mention mining all the Bitcoin I spent to pay for them).

Compare that to the environmental impact of the military required to maintain the global banking system.

 Cool

Good afternoon Bitcoinland.

Still fighting the battle for $50k... currently  $48320USD/$60930CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Less than a month of summer left. I think we're all ready for the autumn bull run. (Northern hemisphere of course).

Go Bitcoin go.

I hope you're making use of your lake today JimboToronto!  It's quite hot for late August.

Damn straight.

We were barely surviving in the heat wave downtown. The temperature was bad enough but the humidity was oppressive.

We headed up early Thursday and didn't get back until late last night.

What a relief. We actually had to put jackets on in the morning.
897  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 23, 2021, 01:30:39 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still over $50k... currently $50214USD/$63866CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Onward and upward. Go Bitcoin go.
898  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 23, 2021, 03:00:07 AM
$50k

OK

So it's still a great day even though the Jays lost!  Whoo!

Charlie Montoyo is an idiot. Got to see Miguel Cabrera's 500th though.

Still a good day.

Good morn Bitcoinland.
Four eight five six nine dollars
(Bitcoinaverage).

We might have to wait
A little longer to see
Fifty thousand per.

Its a lovely day
To head with my lovely wife
Off to the ballpark.

This is not the time
To worry about the price
Of all our bitcoins.

We must be patient.
It will reach new all-time highs
Eventually.
