23  Economy / Lending / Re: Need .1 btc loan on: May 30, 2014, 01:05:00 AM
Sadly, I have no altcoins, or else I would have gotten rid of them first. I know most people want collateral, but I figured I'd ask.
24  Economy / Lending / Need .1 btc loan on: May 30, 2014, 12:09:57 AM

25  Other / Off-topic / Re: I have something to spare, who do I send it to (2150 BTC)? on: May 28, 2014, 01:57:55 AM
Who is this guy, and is he for real?

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, this just seems like a really big thing to be claiming.

No offence OP, but you sound like one of those crazy guys that preaches on street corners and such.

If you really do have that, consider blessing me with 1.6 bitcoins (amount I just lost) at 14DCuqKaamuhTikTJDBM789AFFaXm2fX9K  and I will seriously reconsider my belief system.
26  Other / Off-topic / Re: Damn it I just lost all my bitcoins on: May 28, 2014, 01:45:50 AM
Yeah, I'm just going to have to take it as a 900 dollar lesson. Oh well, it could always be worse, right? I have always gambled "just for fun." But I don't know... this last session I was just gambling a little more aggressively than I normally do, and I paid dearly for it.

Oh well, it's not the end of the world!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
27  Other / Off-topic / Damn it I just lost all my bitcoins on: May 28, 2014, 12:52:37 AM
So I just lost all my btc saving (1.6 btc) by gambling, in about a half hour. I lost just a little bit, and of course I gambled a little more trying to make it back. I lost even more, so I started putting even more to try to make up. Eventually I found myself down to .4, and I put it all down, and thought maybe I would double my money, and just stop at .8.

Well I lost that too, so now I am completely broke. I feel like such a schmuck. I honestly don't feel that I have a problem with gambling (probably have maybe 3-4 hours of online gambling experience under my belt) and one trip to Atlantic City, where I spent 50 bucks (which was "fun money" that I already figured was spent). I've never done anything so foolish before!

Now I'm flat broke. Like I have 5 dollars in my wallet, and that is it.

I don't really know where I'm going with this, I just feel like a jackass Sad
28  Economy / Economics / So whatever happened with Mt. Gox? on: May 23, 2014, 03:33:26 AM
Been away from the computer for a while. I was wandering what was the final fate of Mt. Gox? Last time I checked, it had crashed, and no one thought they would get their money back. But there was rumors that people might get back a percentage back or something.

So any updates? Anyone get arrested or sued? And do we know for sure now that it was hackers? A lot of people were speculating that the exec's over there just took the money and ran.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: You work your butt off, and a rich dude does nothing and gets rich - how? on: May 23, 2014, 03:00:51 AM
Poor people work for their money, rich people have their money work for them.

And that is the way of the world. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I got the refund as well. Who wouldn't? Or at least upgrade to something better?
32  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2011 Macbook Pro on: April 10, 2014, 11:51:10 AM
I work for Apple. Would the original poster be willing to post the serial number so I can verify the configuration and installed OS and hardware?

$400.00 is really low for one of these. It is hard to tell based on the picture but it looks like the monitor may not be working as well. The keyboard appears to be lit but the screen is blank.

I sold the macbook last month to a friend. I would just delete the whole damn post, but I cant. Plus Im sure that people would be like "OMG HE DELETED THE POST OF SOMETHING THAT'S NO LONGER AVAILABLE! HE MUST BE A SCAMMER!! DURRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

Sorry Ron, not trying to diss you or anything, some of the people on this forum just annoy the shit out of me. And for the record, the computer performed perfectly Smiley
33  Economy / Lending / Re: really need .09 bitcoin loan on: April 10, 2014, 11:48:52 AM
Oh and I know that someone is going to bring up the macbook, no I didnt try scamming anyone. This guy and me couldn't agree on a escrow, and so he decided to talk shit and call me a scammer because I wouldn't use the escrow guy he wanted to use.

Well how lucky that you met me!  I am a trusted escrow agent and I only charge 1%.

Sell your macbook and you don't need to beg for money.  Smiley

But next time I sell something, I will definitely be in touch.
According to the user who tried buying it from you, you wouldn't even accept DannyHamilton for escrow of the sale.

Look, I had never heard of "DannyHamilton," I wanted to use the escrow service I had used before (coinguard.org). I wouldn't recommend them anymore, because apparently they are selective scammers. I don't think I did anything wrong.

I feel like you follow all my posts, just so you can call me a scammer, alabamafan1. Its not cool to trash someones reputation like that, and I feel really frustrated because it is really hard to defend myself against claims like yours. Can you honestly say that there is any hard evidence that I am, in fact, a scammer? Basically your like "Oh he might be scammer, so I'm just going to trash this guys rep, just in case." I know you probably feel like your just looking out for people, but how would you feel if you were in my shoes?

I sold it last month Sad And to answer your question about what escrow I wanted to use - coinguard. I wouldn't use them now, because apparently they are selective scammers (although I have used them several times with success).

Well, if I don't get the loan, it wont be the end of the world. I just really hope my account isn't closed!
36  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2011 Macbook Pro on: April 09, 2014, 09:37:52 PM
um.... buyer beware -

I messaged him about the macbook - I received a message stating to send BTC to his address...and he'll send to my home address.
He states will only use escrow services, but when i ask which forum member he supplied a third party escrow website. (one that has been considered scam by multiple threads here)
Then I insisted on reputable escrow service and I have not received any response and he logged offline.

** Always do deals with reputable people. I suggest you do the same here if you pursue this transaction.

What escrow website did he want you to use?

coinguard (I know now that they are selective scammers, so I won't use them anymore, although they've always worked for me)

So I asked for a .09 loan a couple days ago. One person did offer to do the loan but he hasn't gotten back to me yet (hopefully he will soon!) but that is neither here nor there. Basically, my bank account is in the red for 37 bucks(http://imgur.com/qUwTRww), and I am afraid that they will close it if it stays in the red for more than a few days (which they told me will happen).

I got ripped off (read about it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563827.msg6146716#msg6146716) but some of the blame is on me, I shouldn't have been spending my money so frivolously.

Anyway, if someone can PLEASE lend me .09 btc, I will love you forever. I can pay you back Friday night, Saturday morning at the latest (might have to work late) with 20 percent interest. No I don't have any collateral, or else I wouldn't need the loan!

40  Economy / Scam Accusations / Venmo payment service scam! Watch out guys! on: April 09, 2014, 08:55:38 PM
So I had a 200 dollar Amazon gift card I sold to someone online last week. I wanted bitcoins for it, he asked me if I would accept payment through Venmo. I had never heard of it, so I did a quick search on Google. It seemed pretty legit, so I signed up, and he sent me money ($180) that way. He sent the payment, I sent him the code, and I "cashed out" my balance to my bank account. That was last Thursday. Monday I recieved a email that the cashout had been "canceled and returned to my account." But the money isnt there.

Multiple emails to customer suppot (there is no phone number) and I have gotten no response. I did some research,  and it appears that the guy did a charge back (I didn't know you could charge back via Venmo) and took his money back, and got my Amazon card for free.

To add to this, Venmo somehow thought it was appropriate to charge my bank account 35 dollars twice for NSF... even though the only transaction I've made with my account was the transfer of the 180 dollars that I never received. So now Im out a 200 dollar Amazon gift card AND 70 dollars (which put my account in the red)

Such  a headache, I will NEVER use this service again. Just a heads up guys, don't use Venmo!
