22  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ANACS no longer grading physical cryptos? on: June 02, 2021, 12:53:04 AM
Last I read ANACS slabs crypto tokens but no longer grades. So I guess there are 3 versions of the slabs. Gold background w/ grade, green background w/ grade, and now green background w/o grade?

Congratulations to the highest bidder : selassiesoildier with .55BTC

27  Economy / Collectibles / Re: SALE] one roll of 20 1k Bits Super Rare BTCC Mint 2016 limited edition Bitcoin on: February 24, 2021, 09:21:35 PM
FYI, picture links don't work. Also the asking price seems orders of magnitude above the market price today.
28  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius Loans on: February 18, 2021, 11:50:36 PM
I think another factor that will be appreciated more in the future is the "clean" history of the loaded coins. They are either straight from the block rewards (BTCC) or loaded in 2013 or prior (Casascius).
29  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 2011 Casascius 1BTC coin (v1) on: February 15, 2021, 01:44:22 AM
BlackJonny turned out to be a scammer: tried to get me to peel the coin and send him the private key, when I insisted on escrow he started a 3 way Google Hangouts conversation with a sock puppet account named "Miner Jones".

Selling to therealNano instead at the same price.

thanks for reporting. and glad you avoided a disaster situation.
30  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] BTCC Chips Rolls- Complete Set on: February 11, 2021, 06:12:24 AM
Or should I split up the chip rolls, and sell as "6 Chip Sets"?

If there is enough interest. I'd consider that option.
But it's a shame a set would be broken up, no doubt.

you would definitely maximize value in doing so but agreed, shame to break it up. unlikely anyone will be able to complete the set who hasn't already.
31  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] BTCC Chips Rolls- Complete Set on: February 06, 2021, 01:45:19 AM
This is truly an amazing set. I didn't even realize the 500's came in rolls...
32  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New User Looking to Sell 2012 Casascius 1 BTC on: January 06, 2021, 04:00:49 AM
Brass ungraded will sell for 1.05 to 1.1 BTC depending on the condition and series. Auction is best if you want to guarantee a sale.

ooo. do you have a min you are looking for? haven't seen many BTCC's on the market lately.
34  Economy / Collectibles / Re: A number of Casascius 1BTC unpeeled for sale and one 'silver 10' on: December 18, 2020, 08:55:03 AM
I'll echo LC's comments about non-binding not being useful. If participants don't have skin in the game, the results won't be tied to reality. Look at how people treat free bets or play tokens vs. real money in gambling apps.
35  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Would like to sell a Casascius Bitcoin. Looking for advice. on: December 11, 2020, 07:09:19 AM

Start the Auction at 1BTC for a casascius silver I would usually expect around 1.3 - 1.4BTC, but not sure how the tarnish would affect the price for this one.

From what I've seen tarnish has very little impact on price, though it's off a small sample set as not many seem to come up. I've only seen tarnish on raw sales. Curious if that would hold for graded/slabbed coins w/ tarnish as well.
36  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] POKEMON cards, personal collection, around 300 cards on: December 07, 2020, 08:15:51 PM
you forgot to include all your charizards! Smiley
37  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Selling on eBbay- What's the deal these days? on: December 04, 2020, 02:10:22 AM
you have little to no protections as an ebay seller. i would not recommend it. if the buyer charges it back you will likely be out at least the sale price and they could try shenanigans like peeling the and returning the redeemed coin. neither paypal/ebay/credit card support would prob know enough to step in and resolve it correctly. yes, you can get a higher price on ebay vs. here but that is due to the significantly higher risk profile imo. not worth the possibility you can lose 99.9% and only get back a redeemed coin.
38  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Grading, Crypto Collectables ICG and ANACS on: December 02, 2020, 09:55:28 AM
i think having legit competition keeps both sides honest, like PSA vs. BGS in the trading card space. i've used ANACS before (back when they had the yellow slabs) and it was straightforward and painless. personally i do like the anacs slab aesthetic more than ICG's which to me looks warped.

either way, i would not send anything via mail right now due to the value at stake and shipping delays. it sounds like anonymousminer has a good hookup for IGC. i plan to reach out to him and try out ICG when i get comfortable grading coins again.
39  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone tried LibertyX's new buy BTC service (CVS & 7-Eleven)? on: November 27, 2020, 11:24:21 PM
...

Today I bought BTC via LibertyX.  It looks like their low cost program is still in effect, I paid a tad under 2.0% (quick and dirty calculation) for $500 worth of BTC.  A great deal, a "BTFD" opportunity we just had in BTC prices today.

So it looks like it is still a low cost way to get BTC at a good rate.

I do not know when or if the low rates will continue, perhaps yimfinity might fill us in.

Truly a Black Friday sale Smiley Glad to hear it. No plans to discontinue the promotion for now. If and when we do, we'll try and give at least a few weeks notice before it ends to give people plenty of time to stack cheap sats.
40  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2013 Token Casascius 1 bitcoin for sell on: November 23, 2020, 11:48:02 PM
Why?
Whoever pays the most gets it.
P.

because both the ebay auction and the BCT auction will have a winner and you will not be able to satisfy your obligations to both as you only have one coin to sell.
