I don't know, an old school banker who's going to retire soon knows what is going to happen to digital money in the next 20 years? I have my doubts

It's coming for sure, just keep watching Greece and the Ukraine.

Make no mistake about it, this is big fucking news. Now many US wall street investors with very deep pockets have a legit way to invest in Bitcoin. Most of the overseas exchanges are shady as hell, so hopefully we'll finally get true price discovery and all the past exchange manipulation and shenanigans will come to an end. The small investors trying to manipulate prices to make a quick buck will get slaughtered once the big guys enter the market. Absolutely. Also, trading on overseas exchanges incurs more taxes. That's one of the reasons why I went with coinbase instead of bitstamp.

You know, bitcoin is much bigger news these days than in 2011. Much more investors are reading about it. This could mean one of two outcomes -
Some investors from wall street will read the news and stay the fuck away from it for good, while others might see this massive correction is going to upswing if bitcoin doesn't die. So, I can imagine the second group will be checking signs of life in the next few weeks. If it doesn't completely collapse (I don't think it will) some of those guys are going to buy in for the long term. If it starts to upswing, we could see more of them pile in.
I'm thinking that the second possibility is stronger than the first, so I'm holding for now. If it all collapses, then I accept the consequences and move on.

Oh yeah, new investors are going to look at the charts and say "I bet it's really exciting to invest in btc right now". Maybe a few will decide to walk into the burning building for the adrenalin rush, but not many.

if it goes to 0 i will wonder what the hell happened to the internet.

tried opening a bitstamp account twice but they wouldn't verify my proof of ID. Thank you lord Satoshi for looking after me.

we are so short sighted - geez,

Never is a LONG freaking time.

Well this is boring. Go watch the XMR chart instead. Up 30% today some days one altcoin rises a lot, but every day we see lots of alts going nowhere but down. It is like gambling. I could instead watch the guy that managed to win 1M from few dollars by winning a giant parlay I'd rather gamble. Picking alts that get pumped is like throwing darts at a dartboard blindfolded. Gambling is more fun.

The community can also tip the young xboxers through changetip. If changetip gains more traction, you could see xboxers posting helpful videos on games or other subjects, and then asking for bitcoin tips.
Don't underestimate the power of sending a13 year old a few dollars (in bits) to get them thinking about other ways to collect tips.

I prefer thinking of bitcoin like digital gold. Let it be used by large banks and corporations for billion dollar transfers. This idea that we should be spending it on socks from overstock is thinking way too small IMHO.

LOL, superimposed on the video stream: APPLE WATCH: TELL YOU THE ACTUAL TIME! A WATCH THAT YOU WEAR ON YOUR WRIST!!Unfortunately, it requires an iPhone in your pocket also. So... What is the point of the watch? Didn't people stop wearing watches because they got phones? No. But I would not wear some Apple watch that required nightly charging. it seems very confusing market - wise. Yes, Iwatch is new and some people are going to get them, but they just introduced a bigger screen on the iphone. People want bigger screens on phones but smaller screens to wear? I don't get it. I'll be happy to read the reviews, especially for book reading and gaming - both of which I use my phone for. I can't imagine reading a book on a watch, but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm not going to wear an iwatch or any other computer watch. I think apple is taking a misstep here imho.

It would be wonderful if there was a way through coinbase or bitpay to incentivise holding a small percentage of btc these companies are now accepting. Maybe a lower fee structure depending on what percentage is held? Or free marketing/advertisements? Something like that would be great for everyone.
