Nice research  I have one thing to point out though, you underestimated the development needed to replicate the software. 3 devs working for 1-3 months is nowhere near a realistic estimate. (you would need that kind of time for production testing alone). Other than that, +1. |

Because the block speed is off, there are about 1 million extra coins a week.. In fact the price just took a pasting because somebody dumped 475,000 of them.
And I snatched 80,000 of those  You have to notice that most SXC coins are in the hands of people happy to stake them up, and so there isn't much volume for trading and that cripples movements in price. However I don't see a problem, as lava mentioned, SXC/USD price is very steady, even in the madness that is happening right now, and when I asked whether it is good to pump the coin value, you said that you preferred a *steady* price, well . |

Past the halving point  What? PHS didn't triple in value yet  @Palmdetroit Assuming the POW/POS block ratio remains constant, next halving will be at ~1,940,000 coins and total coins when POW mining stops ~2,565,000 coins. The ratios will not remain constant, so these numbers may be too much, or too little, time will tell. However it's bounded up by ~5,700,000 mined coins, you cannot go beyond that, and each POS block lower this bound further. Still didn't triple in value weird. |

Well I PM'd Freeworm of BTER in a tentative enquiry, but although he's been online, theres been no reply...  I was looking at our market price on crypsty, and felt a little disappointed.. SXC has been gaining websites but it doesn't seem to be gaining any traction ... Some of the coins that are doing better have absolutely no commericial value, they were just added to Cryptsy earlier, and are listed in the BTC markets. So it was nice to get a reply to a post in the "Allover30" forums, from the webmaster... "Interesting post echo3319 and one that I really don't have any information on but I will keep an eye on that as it grows out of it's infancy. Thanks for the post and hope you enjoy the site and our lovely ladies." No the idea wasn't to get them to use SXC, the idea was to introduce them to the concept.. It's an easier sell if they remember that they heard about this new digital currency thing months ago, and it doesn't seem as likely to be a scam to them because they know we've been putting months or years into it's development.. and having a long aquaintance with the webmasters beforehand fosters trust. And yes, AO30 is affiliated with ATK, Karups, Anilos, and a few others, they cross advertise and share bonus galleries so we are introducing ourselves to the major websites of the "Milf" niche in the adult industry... That's the way to go One mainstream site accepting SXC will benefit the coin way more than a thousand new sites. Consider this, you open your favorite site, and find out an announcement that they now accept SXC. You follow the link and learn about the great crypto coin and you think like (wow I should pay with it). Consider that, you stumble upon a small site, and notice the prices in tens of thousands, you take a closer look and find that they accept a SXC thing. Being your curious self, you fire up google and search from SXC to bitcoin, and find a bunch of news about silkroad and paypal bannings, you feel like ......... Not to say that new sites based on the coin are not important, they are of course, but wide adoption needs the giants. |

In my opinion you are mistaken in believing that no coin is profitable. No coin is profitable *now*, meaning mining cost vs *current* price, but that is just, after all, a mine & dump thinking. The way I see it, is that most alts now are great for mining/buying as they are very undervalued (even in relation to power cost), and they are also under the radar of hopping miners. You need to identify the coins with potential and stake them, mining and buying. When XPM went down to around 0.002, some miners just decided that it is not worth it anymore and shut down their rigs. Others who believed in the value of the coin (like me) kept mining even at loss. 3 weeks later XPM shot to 0.007 and those who mined and staked in the bad days made some nice profits, while the others watched . The whole point is not to mine the coin that is profitable now (that's an illusion, all coins level up on the long run), but to mine the coin that will be profitable in the future. |

That is because it creates an order now doesn't sell into the sell orders. The fee you speak of is actually a deterrent intentionally made to lower the amount of auto sells and to cover the new hardware that the larger number of transactions required. So if you choose an option that isn't guaranteed to sell it will obviously not guarantee that someone will buy it. In your case what is likely happening is an order mostly filled or someone bought ahead of you leaving your auto sell order unfilled Ill talk to vern and see if we can tweak it a bit. The fee covers the cost of resources required to allow the service.
As far as a ticker goes absolutely a good candidate probably could have had this looked at a while ago.
Thanks. Hi BitJohn, If I may suggest, creating a guaranteed sell order is easy, since the system already carry trades on best possible price. It just needs to set sell price to something like 0.00000001 and the system will keep trying to fill it against best buys till it fills. I usually do this when I want to perform an instant market order and there are many opposing small orders, instead of calculating the needed price to fill I just put up a very low (or high if buying) price and it works. I fail to see how people make a profit on this coin now, even with carefully managed VPS. I have ceased mining at home on 9 machines now because I can't even reach 1/3rd of break even against electricity (Australia: $0.30/kWh).
Basically the way I now see it is you can only make a profit if:
- You have electricity that is free or almost too cheap to meter
- You are 'stealing' power and/or computer resources from work/college etc
- You have a botnet
- You have somewhat cheap electricity (i.e. %0.05/kWh), and you decide to continue mining and hold P.S More powerful processors have much better CPD/power ratios. One 2CPD machine is way better than 2 1CPD ones. |

I want opinions from the coin experts Is pumping the coin price up good for the coin or bad? Also Is pumping the coin price up and down repeatedly, good for coin or bad. From my POV, this will create volatility, but also boost trade volume, so? Thanks |

TIX has more games and places to spend and use it than 90% of the coins out for 10 times as long. People selling XPM for BTC has no correlation to XPM being used as a base coin for trading...that just shows how many people are trying to get out of XPM...
Ya I know TIX is even stronger that Euro. People getting out of XPM are taking the price from 0.0023 to 0.0037 (i.e. 60% increase in value). Shows the concrete logic you have |

Please add TIX to LTC market. XPM doesn't have enough volume, and it's really hurting TIX, that it can only be traded for XPM on Cryptsy. Same goes for any coin that is only traded on XPM market (NET)
And all other posts claiming XPM's lack of "enough" volume. Last 24 hour stats on Cryptsy FTC/BTC volume 9953.96738575 FTC , equals 8.86908448 BTC LTC/BTC volume: 3232.17886087 LTC , equals 53.65416909 BTC XPM/BTC volume: 21738.06675841 XPM , equals: 61.95370764 BTCDoesn't look like low volume to me, and XPM held nicely. Surely a strong and stable coin. It's TIX who needs a lot more strength. Don't get me wrong, I hold some 20M TIX and don't have anything against the coin, but it still has a long way to go to even prove itself. |

It is getting better everyday, but we still have a long way to go By the way, disregarding technical terms and definitions, most people here don't consider what happened "military coup" as there were huge demonstrations (20-30 millions) requesting the military to intervene, and asking for the supreme court head judge to be interim president and a government from the opposition, which is what happened exactly. |

Hello everyone, This is my first post, so here is some background. My name is Khaled Hawas, I am 37 years old from Cairo, Egypt. I somehow bumped into Bitcoin a couple months earlier, and we fell in love . I had a spare desktop with i7 3770, 32GB, (how did I end up with such a "spare" desktop is a long story ), so I went out shopping and converted it to a whooping 185kh/s scrypt + 2.0 CPD XMP rig (with an Amd 7770 oc) I am a developer and a trader, so I kinda feel in wonderland My pet altcoin is XPM, I love primes.
