Hey M Smiley,
I suspect the issue may be that Chrome is synching between devices. Could please disable synching and reinstall? That ought to solve it.

Pablo.

I suspect you're right.  I'll try that now.

Thanks!
22  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: March 07, 2014, 05:39:21 PM
Hey Pablo,

I am experiencing a strange problem with Butter Bot.  Instead of the usual B symbol in Chrome, it is showing a puzzlepiece.  It is currently showing .39 on a red background and a down arrow, like it does when it's running correctly, so I don't know if it's working or not.

If I right-click on it and select Butter Bot, it takes me to the Chrome Store.  If I right-click and select Options it tries to open chrome-extension://mobiagalfkjjikfjjdbihiojihpdfbpl/options.html but it fails with a "The webpage is not found" error.

Any ideas?

If it matters, I have Butter Bot running on two PC's.  One the one I am not having trouble with is on all the time, and Butter Bot is set to do trading.

On the PC I am having trouble with, which is not on all the time I also have Butter Bot installed.  I have the same settings in it, but trading is disabled.  That way I can see what is going on without having two competing bots.

Could this be causing the problem?

Thanks!

Or using satire to comment on the frequency of posts by Lab Rat.

You can point to any pool you want, as long as it's GHASH.IO. Smiley

We should all politely request that Lab_Rat give us updates.  And politely request them again and again if we do not get the updates.  There is no point in posting angry messages.  But we also don't need to sit idly by and let Lab_Rat think that it's okay that he doesn't give us updates.

I don't think it's too much to ask for a weekly update that occurs around the same time that dividends are issued.

Something quick would be better than nothing.  Even if it's just something like:

Dividends paid on xx\xx\xx date
Amount per dividend: xxxxx
Current hashrate: xxxx
Expected hashrate increase: xxxx on xx\xx\xx
Waiting for hardware from BFL.  Expect it on xx\xx\xx
etc...

A little bit of info would go a LONG way toward keeping everyone happy.

Just my 2¢.

I decided to test market opinion of BA and see how the market currently views the price and image of BA by listing one of my units for sell in the good section.  I have very good rep and believe that anyone would have full confidence that I would hold up my end of a deal, so any offers would be considered solely market view of BA.  After more than 24 hours I have not had a single offer or inquiry on my offer.  I even included the compensation package as part of the deal, and still no one seems to want it.  I did not put a price up, but instead asked for offers for my device.  So what does this tell us?  Well I will let everyone form their own opinion, but I have come up with 2 options...
1) There is no market for the BA device, which is sad because we are still over 2 months away from it being launched or,
2) No one has faith that BA will deliver.
In either case I would say the outcome is not good, so I reiterate my question, how are refunds going to be handled?

I don't read the Goods section, but what are you selling?  If it's an X-1, and you can get Black Arrow to transfer it to me, then I would be interested.  I can't afford an X-3 right now though.

Its actually an X-3, but I have an X-1, time to find out what its worth.  Make me an offer on it...

I imagine I could offer you the amount that you paid in BTC for it originally.  If you bought it in November, I imagine it would have been about 3.5 0.35 bitcoins.  Of course I don't know when you bought it.  Do you think that's a fair price?

EDIT: Typo above.  3.5 should have been 0.35 bitcoins.

Buying a Bitcoin miner is a risky endeavor.  I was going to call it an investment, but it is not necessarily.  There is no guarantee you will make back the money you spent on the miner, much less turn a profit.

There are too many IF's...
IF the company is Legit
IF the miner is produced on time
IF the miner ends up being the speed advertised
IF the miner ends up using the power advertised
IF difficultly doesn't rise too much
IF the miner works consistently and doesn't have to be sent back.
.
.
.

It's obviously a huge gamble.  People who are not comfortable gambling should NOT BUY A BITCOIN MINER.

Just buy bitcoins instead.  Yes, it's still risky, but less so.  If you buy bitcoins, you don't have to worry about all the IF's above.  You really only need to worry about whether they will increase or decrease in price over the long run.

That said, I do mine bitcoins.  I am comfortable losing the amount of money I put into mining.  For me, mining is enjoyable.  It's like entertainment, and it feels good to know that I am contributing to this amazing system.

I also buy and hold bitcoins.  I believe they will increase in value over the coming years.  I'm not relying on that though.  Bitcoin could tank and I would lose what I put in.  I am okay with that.  I don't put in more than I can afford to lose.

This is not an endorsement for the way the current system works.  It's simply some friendly advice for those who think they might be interested in buying or pre-ordering mining equipment.  Be prepared to lose what you put in.

Request for Input:
******************

Friends,
We need your help with our new development project and we would love to hear from you:

1. What trading strategies would you like to see?

2. What trading indicators (or combination thereof) are important to you?

3. What features would you like to see in our next gen bot (settings profiles, etc.)?

We appreciate everyones input and if we could get a discussion going on what you guys think would be core features of our next generation trading bot, that would be great. We want to get as much of the stuff you guys want in there as possible!

Pablo.

In backtesting, I would like to be able to see the profit in terms of both bitcoin and fiat.  Or be able to toggle between them.

I would like to see actual profit and loss in terms of both bitcoin and fiat.

I would also like to be able to set both the fiat and bitcoin reserves as either a percentage or as a set amount.

I'm not sure what else.  Perhaps consider trading on CampBX...

Thanks!

Awesome!

I do have one question though.

At http://www.dzminercoop.com/?page_id=1491, it shows that Round 21 earned 1.35 bitcoins, but on the spreadsheet at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArdD1NXRwJNSdGtLY0dZUDVqZUNaZ1VHajRPY1RGUFE&usp=sharing#gid=0, it shows only 1.0 bitcoins.  Why the discrepancy?

That said, keep up the great work!
Only what the pool sends to the address is actually distributed on payout day, meaning if it isn't divisible by 0.5 BTC it won't go into this payout.

That makes sense.  So the extra 0.35 will be saved for the next distribution date then, correct?

Hi mboehler,

I have some good news/bad news to deliver regarding R21x:

Good: This hardware is enroute
Bad: However, this equipment won't be set up until Sunday. Miner Hosting LLC, our primary host company just finalized paperwork for our facility #2. a 6000+ square foot warehouse designed and staffed just for crypto miners, so that we can serve you better and offer room for future expansion.

Good: Because of this delay in start of hashtime, R21x will have discounted hosting for the first month at 50% off!

This offer is only available until R21 begins hashing on Sunday.

That sounds good to me!  I put in my order this morning.  Thanks, DZ and Crew!

How many shares are still available for this?

And did I read correctly that the hardware is already in hand and hashing?

Thanks!

Also keep in mind that the settings that gave huge profits in the past may not work well in the future...

That is what I see. The setting that yield a very high % over one year are only half as profitable as other settings when running the engine only the last one or two of months.

This is where I don't know what to do.

I personally just found some settings that I like and stick with it.  I don't tinker with it.  It's mostly set-it and forget-it with me.  It may not make the absolute highest amount possible, but it makes more that by not using the bot at all.

All in all, I'm happy with it.

This is correct except the Dec hardware might move to first week of Jan and it has nothing to do with the monarchs.  The monarchs should be in the 25TH range.

The trading platform is next on my list after making stats public, as I said I was busy through thursday of this past week.  From here on out I should have worlds of time to throw at making LRM everything it should be.  I am going to be updating the website this weekend as well as moving the hardware to a new pool.  Nothing should experience 2 weeks of holding again, but that helped out the company more than you'll know.

+1!

Thanks, Labrat!  We always knew you were working hard for the company.  We just didn't know exactly what you were doing at times. LOL.  I'm sure I'm not alone when I say we can't wait to see the stats become public, and we really can't wait until the we have a shiny new trading platform.

Once again, keep up the great work!  You've raised my confidence to a whole new level.
40  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: December 21, 2013, 05:51:30 PM
I understand what your saying, but I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying.

Let me give two examples, and please, anyone jump in an tell me where I got it wrong.

Example #1
Using Butter-Bot on BitStamp, 1Hour, 10/21, with no time offset (so it is checking at the top of the hour).
This example checks at the top of the hour, and does the calculations, if there has been a crossover, then it makes the needed trades.

Example #2
Watching BitWisdom on Bitstamp, 1Hour, 10/21, with live feed (so it is checking constantly).
This example uses the same settings as Example #1, but it just checks a whole lot more often, so it is much more accurate at spotting the actual crossover, when it happens. So you aren't missing it by 1-59 mins late.

Why does the frequency of data point updates have to be the same as the (2h, 1h, 30m, 15m) EMA time setting?

OK, I think I understand now.  The Interval setting in Butterbot seems to do two things:

1) Calculates EMA at the set interval
2) Checks the threshold at the set interval and buys/sells if the value is met.

What you are doing at BitWisdom is watching the 1 hour EMA lines, but you are watching them continuously throughout the day, not just checking at 1 hour intervals.  Is that correct?

As far as I know, there is no way for to do that with this Bot.  Although it does seem like it would be a nice feature for the future!  I wonder if there are any drawbacks to having it constantly looking at the data.
