21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 23, 2018, 06:45:41 PM
Please someone help guide me, never done a POS as I'm very new to this.  Can I just let my coins sit on tradesatoshi or should I send them all to the pac wallet?

I suggest... let them sit on tradesatoshi for now.

Again, like I mentioned earlier, the reports I've seem are:
1. Windows defender  or antivirus deleted the pac wallet exe file, causing user panic and reinstall the wallet, erasing their dat file
2. Stuck transaction to yobit and cryptopia due to wallet maintenance
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 23, 2018, 05:42:21 PM

I agree with you as I have no lost transaction experience with the existing system.

The only reports that I have seem with my own eyes, is that transactions are frozen to yobit/cryptopia and that's because of the maintenance mode

No field report of lost transaction has been observed.

At this point of time, I believe majority of the paccoin holders could care less about staking.  It's the transaction capability that is in question.

As I have stated it was breakcrypto's fork that caused the syncing issues with the exchanges. Tell those guys to shut down those wallets, they are impacting financial transactions.

I have relayed this message to veternus.

Last question Bill, could the current dev release patch to cryptopia and yobit?  I thought when it comes to the original pac, you have the final say?

Thank you for creating this wonderful coin.

Hey Bill, I'm sort of curious about this, because there are no actual field report of missing/lost transaction.

I see the chain could reset, but if actual lost transaction took place, it should create storm amongst the community.

Is there a 3rd party that could verify breakcrypto's claim?

Transactions on a valid wallet aren't lost, but sending coins from a wallet on a fork wont get to a valid wallet. It is the forked wallets transactions that are getting lost. A simple test would be to have someone on a forked wallet try to send to a valid wallet. If it doesn't go through, there's your proof.

There are people using modified Paccoin wallets that are causing the syncing problems. Cryptopia and Yobit are down at this time because of this, but Tradesatoshi is up.
The user breakcrypto stated that a modification he supports would fix certain issues. I evaluated it, and decided against his proposal because it causes unlimited forks. This is the reason why the exchanges went down is because somebody is using his code to mine paccoins on a fork, I don't know why they would do this, you cannot send paccoins mined on a fork to the exchanges.
I've noticed my windows wallets are jumping in and out of sync. I am notififying the paccoin community to be wary of the proposed "updates" as they don't fix the coin, but as his name says, they break it.

what can we do now? will we miss the upcoming offer? can we withdraw our coin from yobit & cryptopia with in time( before 1st Feb 2018)?

There is nothing that we could do.

I was surprised that the new dev could push patch to the exchange.  I thought only the original dev could make and authorize changes.

After further observation, here's my take on back so far. It appears that the Dev. team is trying to make the project succesfull and that they care about their members, as this latest transaction fix that was sent to the exchanges earlier today proves.

Sure, not many people liked the, quote on quote, livestream, which didn't leave a good first impression for many, but at the same time, this coins revival is still in it's infancy.

There is still room for improvement and I think that as time goes on, as long as development progresses and improvements are made, this coin will grow once again.

The community appears to be strong and supportive and there is good lines of communication between it's members and admins.

I think this coin might be worth investing some money in. But that's my opinion. Always do research because you are responsible for your own decisions.

I thought the patch is only capable through corless?

No one is addressing the main issue that we can't even move the coins out of Cryptopia and/or Yobit due to the deposit investigation before Jan 2018 ends.  Do we have any input or answer from Dev  or management team regarding this major matter before the swap?

Not yet.

I'm really annoyed that I miss the window to sell at d0.014;

oh well.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 19, 2018, 08:20:17 AM
The reason that it is not the other way around is that:

With the price of 1 old PAC coin  at 1 Sat you cannot drop lower than 1 sat, keeping the bloated sell price, indirectly pulling up the price of other trading pairs (e.g., in DOGE) from , say, equivalent value of 0.1 sat to nearly around 0.8 satoshi. That's why trading pair in DOGE denomination is not maintained at one of the exchange.

If you start trading with 1 new PAC (after the 1:1000 reverse split) the value would not necessarily stay at the corresponding sell price of 1000 sat and may drop to 100 sat and still rooms for even low prices, especially with presently bloat prices by artificial means.  Wink

I think it is a different matter.

Its more to do with able to perform transaction, than trading value.

Both exchange are currently unable to deposit or withdraw paccoin.

My guess is that the two exchanges has received and acknowledged breakcryptos warning letter.  Which most likely wallet will remain under maintenance indefinitely, as new dev team are working on the new coin.

With the conversation going on in github, it also seems that the founder dev is not going to update the current code.

In limbo we are.

Unrelated:
I've just installed the paccoin wallet, am now syncing.. Then i'll try to move my +/- 11,25 million coins to the wallet. Hope it'll come through swiftly.

It can be risky today, Cryptopia and Yobit put their wallets under maintenance

I second that opinion, do not send anything anywhere

you can buy though... strange world we live in
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 18, 2018, 09:24:28 AM
It's kind of funny with this coin. Don't understand what's going on. When I check on Cryptopia, everyone is selling it left, right and centre. When I check on Yobit, everyone is buying it. How can there be such a stark difference between 2 exchanges for the same coin at the same price?

On Yobit Pac coin is much more cheaper than Cryptopia, if you buy it on Doge market
I have it on cryptopia, have sell orders for some time. Will keep it there, worst case will transfer to yobit to sell for doges

Now on Yobit   1Pac=0.009 Doge   +42% 24h

Sadly, such increase is meaningless as my coins are stuck in the oblivion.  I think yobit and cryptopia took @breakcrypto's email quite seriously (which is... good I guess).

Also without the approval of corless to update codes, my guess is that transaction will not go through.  Guess refund is the only hopeful solution.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 17, 2018, 05:57:45 PM
Well crap. This coin seems to be driving me nuts. The wallet wont sync at all it seems for me and i just transfered all my paccoin from Cryptopia to Yobit and well they seem to all have gotten lost in the transfer. I wrote a ticket to Yobit but no response. So millions of paccoin are either in someone elses balance now or lost in the cloud somewhere  Sad

it;s in the cloud, I fully missed the sell window.

Bugger
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 16, 2018, 05:24:25 PM
All in information from Paccoin discord channel. After March 1, there will not be POS, only masternodes will be. For the masternode, you now need 500 million coins. Masternodes will receive 9% monthly. For example, at a price of Paccoin 0.5 sat, the masternode will generate a profit of 0.25 BTC monthly.
Now is an excellent opportunity to collect masternode. With the increase of the price to 2-3 sat, the masternode will generate a monthly profit of 1-1.5 BTC, but the cost of the node itself will grow to 10-15 BTC
This is a live project, you go to the discord, you will understand everything yourself. You can chat with the developers.

By the way, the whitepaper is already ready for release

paccoin dev team should better do something fast as the coinmarket cap look shows a really declining state of things its worrying too that the windows desktop wallet isnt functioning fine for most of us and their dev team isnt helping matters to that regards help your commuinty store their coins i really dont understand how they consider proper integration and adequate bug fixing of the desktop wallet for windows has become a trivial matter for paccoin team do they not lknow that people cant buy if the wallet storage is having issues and also the redemption  isnt even happening in the exchange wallet.
I think because the "new devs" are more interested in getting people to move towards Paccoin Cash $PAC, they lack the incentive to fix any problems with Paccoin PAC. I just want to encourage all you Paccoin loyalists, that I will continue to support the coin. I also am bullish that $PAC will do well and am planning on getting a masternode with them. I don't see how trashing one coin helps another frankly.

Bill

Hi Bill, nice to hear from you, does this mean that the original pac will remain active on cryptopia?

Thanks!

Everyone should go look at the chain right now, it's bouncing around like mad. I've just watch it reset multiple times. If you scan the debug log for SetBestChain you'll see it flipping forward and then back -- go check, don't take my word for it.

I'm not sure if it's intentional or not but if so, you're being scammed. Double spends are completely possible by a trust attack -- just like a 51% attack. In case you were curious, yes, that's the SAME way a 51% works. Run the chain up a certain height, flip it back, erase the TX, run the chain forward, flip it back, etc.

People are playing with the chain I think.

Exchanges need to stop accepting PAC right now until this is corrected. They're being scammed. Someone is running this scam as quickly as possible -- luckily, it's easy to pull those wallets.

I suggest a hard fork and ban for all of the people who were dumping/double spending. If the devs REALLY want to spawn a new coin, then they need to clean this up, ban any wallets that were involved, and get the trust of the exchanges back. I've emailed all of them.

If there is no action taken shortly, ignore this coin and move along. It's in a bad state right now.

Can they generate enough to impact the doge market value?  I'm getting worried with my doge investment since PAC>>Doge>>BTC, doge gets the first hit

If it's not address immediately, I suspect it'll collapse the coin. I mean, it should at least. The chain is in complete disarray -- there's no stability at all.

Please let us know if the devs or exchanges posted any response to your email.  Much appreciated!

I want you to respond properly with a horrible formula that seems to be lost

Could you elaborate?

Scary stuff
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] paccoin a new SHA256D coin is being introduced on: January 15, 2018, 06:37:30 AM
I totally posted badcode I just noticed, typing too fast, sorry:

Code:
if (pindexNew->bnChainTrust > bnBestChainTrust && pindexNew->nHeight > nBestHeight)

Wanted to fix before anyone tried to discredit for b/s reasons.

I'm not familiar with the crypto tech, does this mean that who has the highest pile of coins gets the staking power? IE., large holder gain pos coins and such coins over write those pos of smaller coins owners?

Very likely, a large holder will get the next 1-3 block rewards corresponding to the large chunks of ( and higher-weighted) coins assigned for the POS, immediately after he/she starts staking (minting), but once rewarded, the large portions of coins will no longer be eligible for staking until next time of days or weeks of holding periord for that portion of coins to be used again. There should be less input for staking as time passed, to the point that if you (" with the other wallet") just start staking at that point, you might have a higher staking weight to get the next block.

It is a matter of chance; therefore, your chance of getting rewards immediately starting staking is much, much lower, but even if both start at the same time, there might be a time say one hour later, the one having only, say 1/10 of total coin balance of the other wallet client, would have almost the same amount of coin weight to get the next reward which you are supposed to get anyway.

It might takes longer if there are many, many higher coin-weight wallet starting the staking during the time you are in.

As you can see, the one with extremely small amount of coin most not get a reward for quite a few months but by the time, you would have much higher amount of holding-time and staking power.  Cheesy

If I understand correctly, that people with big pile will have lower coins/wattage (which is fair per POS), but is the main concern like this?
1. Smaller miner starts at height 1000, he's digging away
2. Big miner finds the block at 1000 and 1001
3. Smaller miner is now mining 1001, which has been mined by the big miner
4. So the smaller miner is always doing catch up

My apologies for not being a smart person...

Hello guys i am new to Paccoin and i am out of Germany.

What does it mean when this is showing up on the Wallet:

Minting suspended due to locked wallet

do i have to unlock and run the wallet 24/7  for the POS reward ?

or does it rewarding offline as well ?

the same for Stronghands wallet ?

sorry if my english isnt that good.

Thanks

Hi

Minting suspended due to locked wallet:
Your wallet has password, so it cannot start staking/reward
go to Help > Debug window and click Console then enter this: walletpassphrase “your-password” 9999999 true
  example: walletpassphrase i_love_money 999999 true
  i_love_money is the password

do i have to unlock and run the wallet 24/7  for the POS reward ?
  Yes

or does it rewarding offline as well ?
  No

the same for Stronghands wallet ?
  No
