21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: March 06, 2018, 04:49:49 PM
I barely met the minimum requirements and I got 4400 ITNS on the airdrop.

Sometimes people screw up and they simply can't admit it and go rage the internetz...

Well, indeed I agree with you. The IntenseCoin team screwed up and they can not admit this.

According to Slack support team, the usernames have been replaced by the display names. This has happened since September 2017 and those who have signed up in Slack after that date do not have any Slack username but they have a Slack display name (which is what was formerly known as username). I can provide evidence about it. Officially coming from Slack.

The IntenseCoin team have disqualified a lot of people since they do not accept this official principal!!  Cheesy They believe that the username in Slack is something different. According to the IntenseCoin team, my Slack username was my email ID (the email that Iused to sign up in Slack). This is totally incorrect. Therefore, I inserted the correct information in the form but the team disqualified me (and many others) since they believe that the username is something different (which is not!).

I don't know if they took this action by scope or not however the way they have handled all this and the ignorance they have shown is very bad and shows much of unseriousness.

If you still do not understand what I am saying, I am sorry. I have also contacted the Slack support team and I know very well the story inside-out and I do not care about the coins. But my IQ has falled down to zero with the excuses I hear from these people.

Below is their reply on Slack. Totally disappointing all this and probably the worst experience from all the airdrops I have participated so far.

ThePigwee
@nicholasgr the airdrop has finalized and all rewards have been paid out. If you missed the airdrop, and it was for this reason, I sincerely apologize. Since payments have been distributed already based on a set amount, we will not be making any additional payouts. I know it’s upsetting, and I understand why you are upset. All I can say is I am sorry that you missed out.

The team here is simply ignoring us hoping that the matter would settle in a few days. Here is what one of the team members posted on slack

@Gandalf86 morning friend. We are a P2P decentralized VPN. Bitcoin Talk is going to be a little grumpy for the next two or so days I assume. No one enjoys missing out on an airdrop. All the rules were provided. Some people missed because they put in their Slack display name rather than their username
Do you think that the matter will settle if you don't reply on this thread?

LOL! They are joking probably. We have complied with the rules. If they believe that the username is different than the display name and they dispute also what Slack officially says, they are invited to give specific and serious information. Otherwise, they are arbitrary withhold payments by violating the rules. And of course we will not let it go. If they believe that the case will be settled in a couple of days by ignoring this issue, they are simply mistaken.

By the way, what you have extracted as my "username" is nowhere in my profile (can not understand where did you find such information!!) and when you search in slack directory with the "username" you have extracted, it finds zero results. However if you search the directory with the display name (the @name I inserted in the airdrop form) which is the proper username in Slack nowadays, it gives the proper results. I can not write it clearer than this, i believe, so am really sorry if you guys cannot understand.

Sounds like a good (and the only fair) solution to me. The IntenseCoin guys needs to re-verify all those that haven't received an airdrop because of a Slack username issue and compare the submitted @username with what's shown in that "Slack Directory". I'm not on Slack, but I guess this is some form of follower list. Finally send out the missing airdrops.

I checked the airdrop form. It asked for your slack username. It specifically said username. Screenshot below. 565 people were paid and used the proper information requested by the form. To those that incorrectly filled out the form, I'm sorry, that stinks, but the payments were already made. 2.5million ITNS was allocated to this airdrop and was distributed among the properly validated submissions.

Dear valiant, it looks like we have completed the Slack username correctly as requested by the form that you mention. However, it looks like that the IntenseCoin team is confused of what a Slack username is and the verification process that you followed was not correct. Please check my above messages with the official response from Slack along with the contents of their official webpage which defines that the username is actually the display name. Therefore, all of us that we have properly completed the form with our username/display name, we are looking forward for your necessary actions. Thanks.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - SIGNATURES + XMAS on: March 05, 2018, 11:06:55 AM
they screwed up and they know it

They were asking for the Slack username, we provided our Slack username and they considered our participation invalid since they used an unknown username (no one knows how they found it and why they consider it as our username) to make the validations! wtf ?!  Huh At the same time they did not disqualify those who did not like their facebook page despite the fact that the initial post of this thread with the Xmas airdrop is asking for same.

After the response from Slack support showing without any doubt that the username is actually the display name, awaiting a better explanation from the IntenseCoin team.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - SIGNATURES + XMAS on: March 05, 2018, 09:23:25 AM
Also I have contacted Slack. Please see below their response for your reference. I can send a copy of the original email if required. It was clearly a mistake to withhold payments due to the Slack username validation since apparently the team used wrong criteria to validate.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for getting in touch. Slack introduced display names last year which took the place of usernames. Display names allow users to choose what their teammates use to @mention them. Some users may still be able to view their old username here from before these changes were introduced. https://slack.com/account/settings#username

Please note however your display name is what users use to @mention you and I can see your display for your profile is@nicholasgr

I hope this information helps and if you have further questions please do let me know.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - SIGNATURES + XMAS on: March 05, 2018, 08:51:36 AM
For the avoidance of any doubt whatsoever, please see below from the official website of Slack which says that the username is same with display name. So it is now even more clear that it was a mistake of the IntenseCoin team to disqualify a lot of people from their airdrop due to the Slack validation. Awaiting to follow the rules of their airdrop or otherwise explain us the reason that they do not follow same.

Display names and @mentions
Now that the Slack app is available in other languages, display names (formerly called usernames) can support spaces, capitalization, and non-Latin characters. To get someone's attention, type the @ symbol, then simply select a name from the list. Change your display name or dig into @mentions for more.

in any application, the user name is the user name. If I write the answer and the user's name is written in the chat, then this is the user's name. it's simple. wtf  Huh

What do I see in the end? Those who do not care for the user's name or do not write anything in the slack - he got the airdrop
The half a year of development and such elementary mistakes, we still have a long process. And probably these two thousand coins will not cost a dozen bucks

I really cant understand them. What to say... I really want to hear where is this slack username located in my profile since i can not find

Same here, the team is not even ready to accept their faults and want to pin it on us. I posted multiple times on the forum to have some transparency regarding the airdrop. But no use, we are nobody.

And about being fair, is it fair that the people who don't care about intense, who will never look back at it, or don't even know that they received ITNS in the airdrop receive the ITNS in their wallet, and the ones really deserving don't just because of some silly mistake from the teams end? Can you please justify this @valiant1 @ThePigwee

The people achieved (this is an achievement!) to distribute 2.5 million coins to less than 600 people!!!   Roll Eyes So they can not accept their fault now since they will have to pay for it.

Indeed. What they say does not make sense.

I have not yet found the username in my profile. Maybe I am blind. Did you find it anywhere in your profile???

Oh well!! Since all this is really tiring guys, It looks like we should say "well done" for your mistake (which you do not accept!) and pass it on!! If we can not organise properly a simple airdrop of 1,000 people, it looks like a big problem for the team. And did you really distributed 2.5 million coins to 500some people when up to 1,000 people it was 1 million?!  Huh Amazing!!!  Cheesy Well done again!!! Grin  Grin Goodbye!!!

P.S. "Issues with payout? Contact an @Intense admin". You should have better missed this, if you were not willing or able to help!  Roll Eyes

P.S.2. it is not about the 1000 or ...3000 ITNS that we missed without our fault, it is all about that we feel stupids with the excuses we heard from the Intensecoin team and the time we wasted....

P.S.3. You still say that your airdrop form was requesting for Slack username and we provided something different. Well I will say it again since the other times was not clear probably. There is NO such username in my Slack profile. There are ONLY a full name and a display name, since as advised in the link which I uploaded above, the usernames in Slack were phased out since September 2017 and all users who signed up after that date have a display name. There is also a user ID (not a username) which are 4-5 random letters (and again not the one in your list). But there is NOT a username. THERE IS NOT! THERE IS NOT! I dont really know what you considered as username (which in my profile does NOT exist) and i dont care if you fail to understand this simple point. Probably you have disqualified all people who signed up in Slack after September 2017 (!!!) unless their display name was same with their email ID and for this reason the successful participants were less than 50% (!!!!!!!). Amazing that you do not (want to) understand!

I can appreciate why this is upsetting for you. I sincerely apologize that you missed out on the airdrop. I know that this is not what you were hoping for. I would like to address some of your concerns. First, if you used your display name, and not your username in slack, you would not receive the airdrop. Please understand that the airdrop was not missed by all users because of Slack. Other factors contributed to members not receiving the airdrop. Up to 1000 applicants == 1 million ITNS, this means any number over 1000 applicants == 2.5 Million ITNS. I am sorry to hear that you or anyone else is leaving because you did not receive the airdrop.

Ok however my Slack profile does NOT have anything referred specifically as "username" therefore there was not any chance to add the "username" that you expected in your airdrop form. And I consider my display name as the username. If you believe otherwise, could you please advise where is the username located in Slack (at least for those who signed up in Slack after September 2017)? Since i have not yet managed to find it anywhere in my profile.
Also not leaving because did not receive an airdrop. Just because i believe you are not fair and because I believe that if we can not organise a simple airdrop of 1,000 people properly, how can we organise more serious issues? And it is more than clear that all this mess was created due to faults on behalf of the IntenseCoin team. Even the way that the team has handled this issue after its completion is not satisfactory to my opinion. By the way if you had just published your excel file a couple of days earlier, all issues could be properly addressed especially those which are not due to our fault. Also the number participants should count only among those who qualify. For those who did not qualify (according to your strange criteria) their participation is considered anyway invalid. Therefore either you should distribute 2.5 million coins to 1,000+ people or 1 million coins to those 500 people you considered as valid participants. What you say that you did does not make any sense at all and it is not fair at all for anyone!! You accept that the participants are more than 1000 but you pay only less than 600 of them due to reasons that noone can really understand! Really sorry to say but this is totally unreasonable wether you see it or not. I am waiting to hear where I can find the "username" in my Slack profile, otherwise I will assume that the airdrop payments were arbitrary withheld. Thanks.

P.S. We are not silly. The 565 who qualified either provided a discord username which is straightforward or had a Slack earlier than August 2017 or their email ID was same with their Slack username/display name. All others did not qualify since, as you say, you were expecting to see a username which does not exist. Waiting your advice about where is the "username" located in Slack profile.

Same problem here... slack user name not on the list and no airdrop. I found my email user name. Hope this gets sorted out quickly.  Roll Eyes

I can appreciate why this is a concern for everyone. In this case, since all the payments have been made, we are not able to make any additional payouts for those that missed out on the airdrop. I know that this is not the answer that you were all hoping for, and for that, I apologize. Slack Usernames are not the same as your display name. In some cases, when adding a name from Slack, some users provided their display name rather than their username. When we did our search for this information, and it could not be validated, it resulted in a no for the airdrop. Again, I know that this is not the resolution that you were all hoping for. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to me.

Allow me to say that what you are saying is misleading. First of all Slack has removed "usernames" for long time now and they have replaced with display name. There is not any such "username" in slack any more and you can make your research (for easier reference please see here: https://api.slack.com/changelog/2017-09-the-one-about-usernames ). I am not sure what information you have used to extract and verify but what i know is that if you look into the airdrop form, you will find the display name with which you could verify if we are members of Slack. If Intensecoin team did not want to offer airdrop for more than 500-600 people, you could probably add more criteria so as to minimize the number of people you will pay out. Situation is very clear for everyone and your excuses are disappointing.

By the way, what you have extracted as my "username" is nowhere in my profile (can not understand where did you find such information!!) and when you search in slack directory with the "username" you have extracted, it finds zero results. The error is from the intense coin team's end and we all deserve our coins from the airdrop. Can someone please look into this and take some fair action?

Agree. So to SUMMARISE, the problem is that:

What appears as Slack username in the excel file of IntenseCoin is NOT the Slack username (display name) BUT our e-mail ID which we used to sign-up to Slack. So there is inconsistency since basis the e-mail ID one can not verify neither our membership in Slack nor our membership in airdrop since we completed the form with the Slack display name and not with our email ID. This will not be an issue only for those who used a display name in Slack same with their email ID. Apparently this is a mistake from the IntenseCoin team and can not really understand how did they extract our email IDs as the Slack usernames!
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - SIGNATURES + XMAS on: March 03, 2018, 09:18:14 AM
Probably there is a mistake here since I have been a member of the IntenseCoin Channel in Slack. Probably the fact that username in slack can be changed at any time is the tricky point there
I have a similar situation. In a slack chat I have one name that I have not changed since registration. And in the table for the organizers for some reason instead of it is the name of the email on which I registered. ie letters before the @

Please check the relevant sheet of the excel (with the usernames) if your username is there. If it is not, please check if there is in there the ID of your email. For example if your email was ABCD@gmail.com please check if there is any ABCD in the list with the usernames. So we can understand if we face exactly the same problem.

Yes. This is the problem. The name in the chat and the name in the mail do not match

Thanks guys at least we identified the problem. I also initially thought that I had changed my username since I saw my email ID in the list, but finally it was not the case as it seems. They just extracted the usernames somehow that gave them our email IDs which were not our Slack usernames. Hope they will look into it further.

Airdrop payments are going out now (finally!). All payments were sent with the payment ID
Code:
61697264726f7000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

My sincere apologies for the day-ish delay. It's going to take some time for all 23 payments to go out because I have to wait for a block confirmation before I can send the next payment (funds locked due to change). all payments sent

We decided to pay those whose Facebook likes could not be validated, as it was not stated in the original airdrop requirements, and probably only a few people saw my message to remove the privacy features. This is reflected in the payment sheet - should_be_paid is set to YES even for users that failed the Facebook checks.

In total, 1227 people applied. 565 of those people were found to be valid submissions. I appreciate the feedback about publishing the list first to rectify problems, but we already had a couple staff members crosscheck a good amount of randomly sampled entries to ensure things were on track. Sorting through 600 possible messages about how entries were wrongly validated for reason XYZ is just not plausible. You can view all of the information here.

Hey...
I satisfy all the constraint but didn't receive the airdrop. The sheet states that slack/discord not found. I've joined the slack of intense and also receive the updates on my mail.
Please look into this matter as this is my first airdrop and I really don't want to miss this. I also mine ITNS on my local PC. Joined the airdrop so that I could earn a few more ITNS.

Please look into this. I'm really disappointed because of this

I can also provide proof of this if necessary

Mate, I have the same issue. I searched all over the excel file and found that my username is not in there despite the fact that I have been a member since January (10000%).
The strange thing is that there was an other username in there which i use in some cases and which is also the ID of my email with which i signed up in Slack (but it is not my current Slack username; at least what I consider as my username). So the only I could initially assume is that I changed the username after the airdrop form was sent.

But now that I read your message I am not sure if this was the case or there is any other tricky point with Slack or with what they mean as "username".

Probably they use other information to verify than what we completed into the airdrop form.

Please check the relevant sheet of the excel (with the usernames) if your username is there. If it is not, please check if there is in there the ID of your email. For example if your email was ABCD@gmail.com please check if there is any ABCD in the list with the usernames. So we can understand if we face exactly the same problem.

P.S. the fact that 53% of participants seem to have failed with the criteria, is alarming.
P.S.2 It would be nicer to post this list before the distribution so as to solve any unimportant inconsistencies....

Thank you for the update! It looks like that I was rejected with the reason that "my slack/discord was not found". Probably there is a mistake here since I have been a member of the IntenseCoin Channel in Slack. Probably the fact that username in slack can be changed at any time is the tricky point there (I changed username after the airdrop form was sent). I have contacted you also in Slack with all details. Hope it can be resolved. Smiley Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry but if the info changed from what you submitted, there's no way to rectify that. How would we know to look under a different name? As mentioned before, making exceptions and manual changes for 1200+ people just is not plausible.

I really appreciate everyone's understanding on this. I'm sorry some people were missed.

Not a problem, understood. However the display name in slack can change at any time and it is not impossible to happen if there is a time gap of months between the day we send a form and a day that it is processed. I even do not remember if I changed it before or after the submission (even I am not sure if I changed at all). I just guessed this may be the reason since I saw a username that i usually use (and which is also my email ID) in your excel file. Also it might be easy to verify since i provided all information about the usernames i referred to and you may check with the airdrop form and Slack, but not appreciate the fact that it was probably my mistake, despite the fact that it is very disappointing not to earn the airdrop while I have followed all requirements..... Thanks for your time anyway

P.S. also in my PM i advised the exact case with the usernames and also sent a copy of the email confirmation from Slack, so it might be easy to verify with the airdrop form. Smiley

EDIT: It finally seems that I had not changed username after the airdrop form but there is a problem with the way that verification took place.

I hope a list is published before bounty distribution so that genuine contributers don't miss out due to little technicalities and things like that be resolved before bounty distribution.

Good idea since even a typing mistake is not difficult to happen.

Hi all, my apologies the payments were not sent by 2/28 as promised. I have a couple people on our team verifying the list, because from the way it looks right now, only 20% of the applicants will actually be paid. A very large number of people either inputted invalid Slack/Discord info, or their Facebook profiles were either a) not public for viewing likes b) did not like us or b) did not have 100 friends. I believe the extra time spent verifying these results will ensure fairness and reduce issues. I'll update you as soon as possible.

Dear Valiant1.

As someone already pointed out. The trick with adding "likes" at the end of a link. Doesn't really work unless you are logged in to facebook. At least I couldn't use this method to confirm my privacy status. I should think though that I have now made my friend list public and my likes hopefully also.

Fingers crossed :-)

Same here, friends list is not shown to anyone who is not logged into facebook. I guess they will run the verification by using a facebook account.

The verifications were definitely run by being logged in to an account.

Thanks for update. Regarding Slack/Discord, could u pls elaborate if there was any usual point of mistake (like was with privacy settings in facebook)? By requesting the slack username, we had to insert our "display name", right?
