I've just checked my wallet, lost 50% value in 3months  Cry It is a terrible movie.

Just hang on, don't give up. Things will improve again, maybe not as soon as we want it to. But it will improve again.

My wallet is bleeding with the fall of the market. I don't know what I should do now, empty my wallet? This may be safer!

And it is much better today, right? Just hold on things will get better and better and better  Wink

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Bitcoin Using Free Electricity on: August 13, 2018, 06:30:40 AM
https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/08/12/students-are-mining-bitcoin-in-university-dorms-campuses-are-alert/

Never though of this when I'm still in school but this is clearly profitable given the free source of electricity. I was so amazed by the creativity and intellect of those students taking advantage of the situation.  Grin

I don't have much knowledge about cyber security, is it really possible that the school's network will be compromised due to students mining activities using the schools internet connection? Will there be any legal charges if the students will get caught? Share me your thoughts.

"I was so amazed by the creativity and intellect of those students taking advantage of the situation." NO NO NO and NO. They are stealing electricity and abusing the schools internet, would you employ such creativity and intellect if you were a business owner? I can guess the answer to that.  Wink
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A challenge from bitcoin in 2018 on: August 13, 2018, 06:24:53 AM
This year the price of bitcoin has dropped for a long time, and don't know how long bitcoin will be like this. I think this is a year of challenge from bitcoin, those who are strong will stay here and the weak will leave, this will be an option to determine the future.

If you take a look at the price of Bitcoin exactly one year ago 08/13/2017 the price was $4043.22 so we are still up. Many weak hands already left because their holdings got wiped out. Make a decision, stay the course and drown out the noise. If you do fall flat on your face you go back and learn from your mistakes.
26  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LOSING money on signals? on: August 13, 2018, 06:18:06 AM
The telegram channels that "gives" you signals is a bunch of scammers. That whole process is setting you up to loose even before you start.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Twitter Scammers on: August 11, 2018, 08:26:38 AM
Not only are the scammers doing the fake accounts that say "send .02 BTC and get triple" but apparently now they are either buying verified accounts or hacking them and changing the names and pictures to cryptocurrency people. Now it can actually be hard to tell if someone is scamming.

Well if you have to warn a person to not fall for the "send .02 BTC and get triple" it's a lost case. Any human being falling for that is driven by greed.  Shocked

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinions on all the Bitcoin forks on: August 11, 2018, 08:12:35 AM
Thank you everybody for your opinions on my question. I asked this question for a reason and would like to come revisit this post in about three years from now. I've honestly not heard a single good argument, but everybody is entitled to their own opinion.  Grin

But thank you all.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinions on all the Bitcoin forks on: August 07, 2018, 10:52:09 AM
So there has been a lot of forks and I'm sure many to come. I've started to buy some of these because in this market you fill up the bags, planning on keeping long term. What do you all think?

(And please don't bite my head off because I am genuinely interested in the opinions of some of the older members)
I think it's better to fill my bag with other Altcoins because I don't see anything special in Bitcoin forks, there are many Altcoins projects that have fresh ideas, and I prefer Altcoins like that rather than Bitcoin forks that just copied Bitcoin and change some parameters

Thank you, Yes there is a lot of Alts with fresh ideas but the question is does any of them serve a real purpose? At this moment in time I can not do anything with Bitcoin / Altcoins in real life where I live. Maybe it's different in other countries.

because in this market you fill up the bags, planning on keeping long term. What do you all think?

this is not a valid reason and in fact it is a very wrong approach to just fill some bags and then start becoming a "bag holders" why do you think this term exists?

as for these bitcoin forks, they are all useless coins created by incompetent developers who didn't have anything better to do and they knew they were not capable of creating a proper new altcoin so they forked bitcoin to use its name for their hype.
they get pumped and dumped but don't expect anything more from any of them.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I've seen some get pumped and then the price decreased a lot over the last few months. But is it really incompetent developers or just this market we are in at the moment?

As for holding the bags is that not the whole idea? Buying low and selling high (or just higher) Lets face it everybody is in it for the money, right?

I've setup the wallet and bought some coins to see how the staking will work. It took some time to start staking but now it's working properly. Very nice way to earn a passive income in the long run.

Very interesting. I will give it a try. I have an app on my mobile but it's making me crazy.. just have to look at it when I'm bored.  Wink With this market the last 6 months feel like 6 years  Cheesy
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are airdrops really worth it? on: August 05, 2018, 08:24:23 AM
I don't know if it worth it. I have participated in some airdrops but I cannot see any results until now. Maybe results will be shown in the future, but i have to note that the market is moving stable and below the big highs that occurred in late 2017.

I've also participated in some airdrops and also don't think its worth is. You get like $1 worth but how much will it actually cost you to sell that if it's ERC 20. I'll just leave all the airdrop tokens until it's actually worth something
37  Other / Serious discussion / Re: The world's first mining TV on: August 05, 2018, 08:14:01 AM
Well it looks as if my prophesy of mining decentralisation is starting to come true, Canaan has introduced the world's first mining TV.

I think the only question here is how many people will actually be able to afford a tv like this.  Wink

39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ATM machine for bitcoin reached kenya on: August 03, 2018, 07:03:51 AM
Still pretty good news, even though I really really dislike purchasing on bitcoin ATM machines due to the overkill fees. At least they have a way of buying bitcoin anonymously, I guess? (Depending if the bitcoin ATM machines have surveillance cameras on them or not)

I've been wondering about the fees when buying at these ATM's. We are still patiently waiting for the one in South Africa. We did have some around 2014 but I guess not too many people knew about Bitcoin here. But I guess I will have to wait and see.

EDIT: Never mind, I see it is operational now, Guess what I'm doing this weekend  Grin Grin Grin
