21  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN'S guide to getting merit. on: April 17, 2018, 10:19:33 AM
This is really true, my biggest obstacle at this forum is probably the language problem. I am really very poor English. So from now on I will try to learn more English and hopefully then I can become an active member with contributions to this forum. This article really motivates me to improve my English right now, thank TMAN.

Seeing your past posts, I do not think that English is the only problem. You can still get merits with the current writing skills.

You just need o pay some attention while making posts. For instance, check this post of yours:

The bitcoin increased to $ 1,000 I think due to the strong impact of the tax, people almost no longer sold off and began to believe in this market.

I think you meant that say that bitcoin increased by $1000 but content you posted suggests that bitcoin reached $1000. I can understand that it was not intentional but could be avoided if you pay some attention while writing.
22  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: April 17, 2018, 10:10:25 AM
I feel the new merit system is really good although it is very difficult for the newbie and me.

I can understand the newbie part but why only you ? You seem to have good writing skills and can certainly get some merits if you are smart. Memembers with avergae writing skills have succeeded because they posted at right place at right time.

But I still support this new system, if you have the knowledge and language skills in this area, the rankings will be extremely easy.

I do not think that both knowledge and language skills are required for merits or ranking up. One can do so with knowledge only like by posting a cool Infographic that solves a problem for lot of members here.
23  Other / Meta / Re: Where did Merit come from? on: April 17, 2018, 10:00:18 AM
I have a question where Merit comes from. Are they distributed by administrators or have an automated reward system?

Merit comes in two ways:

1) There are merit sources hand picked by the admin. All these merit sources get some merits per month to distribute to all the members. They are the main source of merits.

2) Foe every 2 merits a member gets, he also gets one Smerit. So , there are extra merits generated equal to half of the merits spend by merit sources. Again, as the member spend these merits on posts of other members, the later also get corresponding smerits.
24  Other / Meta / Re: [April fools] New new rank requirements on: April 17, 2018, 09:57:36 AM
This is a joke thread but the moderator accumulated tons of merits. I wonder the ones that gave away
merits were aware this is was a joke. If not this post is a kind of scam i reckon.
If they were aware then everyone is happy, well done job.

Most of the members who have merits to give are old members and thus we can assume that most of them were aware of this. It was not hard to grasps that this is a joke only. Some people had doubts because it involved changing the codes and also it followed the merit system which made it look real.

Even if some people gave it thinking that the change is implemented, what is wrong with that ? It is good if the merit system is improved further to fix loopholes.
25  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org - signature spam on: April 17, 2018, 09:55:10 AM
So ive come to notice that this forum has become completely littered with spam from signatue bounty hunters. When I joined in december I was told that this is the best source where to get info about crypto, but just to sift throught the crap here and actually find a thread that is engaging is near to impossible. If it keeps going on like this, this forum will become obsolete and it will be just a cash cow for bounty hunters coming from underdeveloped countries...

Are there going to be imposed any rules to stop this? Maybe a closed bounty thread for higher ranks only?

Id rather read some relevant info in here than try to make a buck from bounty honestly, and Im probably not the only one. The forum might lose true crypto enthusiasts this way...

Here is how you can use the forum effectively even with the spam going on:

1) Use ignore option for users making spam posts or bumping old threads.

2) If you find an exceptional post, check the profile of the person. If he has made similar posts, you can bookmark such profiles. Such members are huge in numbers here and thus you will have enough to read for months. These members will keep adding more posts in future as well.

3) Finally, you can try sorting posts based on creation date and number of replies to filter threads.
26  Other / Meta / Re: merit. is it hard on: April 10, 2018, 12:30:03 PM
Im non native english speaker . sometimes i feel it is so hard to think what will post for others to understand what im going to post . any suggestion for me to improve my english skills . Im trying to learn but your advices will help me faster

If you have trouble with writing skills or English in general, you will face problems not only in this forum but in life as well. Thus it is advised to at least learn the basic so that you can frame simple sentences without grammatical sentences.

No need to to be disappointed with current situation, I have seen a lot of people improving their writing skills with time. Keep trying and never give up. Also, merits can also be achived by posting some other useful information like stats.
27  Other / Meta / Re: Merit sources should be increase in no. on: April 10, 2018, 12:27:24 PM
I agree with TMAN - don't increase the merits, but reduce the number of posts. After all, this is why the merit system was introduced.

Unfortunately merit system has failed at this part because:

1) Some people are not spamming for signature campaigns. They are increasing post count to reach junior members so that the limits regarding interval between posting and those related to Pms allowed per day could be removed. They still do not care about quality of the posts.

2) Another category is of people who are here to bump their own projects and thread and they drop some shit posts in between to remain safe.

No doubt, we see some good posts because of merit system but number of shit posts has not reduced.
28  Other / Meta / Re: My 2 cents about actual MERIT system + Possible SOLUTION! on: April 10, 2018, 12:23:33 PM
My advice:
When you see an informative posts (not just random bull*hit or spam) and you have got some merit's to spend, don't hesitate and do it. Just don't look at the account rank/nickname or anything else.

That is the ideal case scenario but that is not going to happen in my opinion. This is because majority of people act based on emotions instead of logic. But this problem is limited only to merits given by members here. I do not think that merit sources are also doing this. Also, some of the senior members did gave merits to new members (in fact some organised exclusive giveaways for low ranked members). So we cannot make a general opinion.

Also, I see admin is helpless in this case, he can only request members to use their merits wisely.

31  Other / Meta / Re: Satoshi would not like the current state of this forum on: March 29, 2018, 06:54:26 AM
Bitcointalk has started to add more rules , more censorship, and bullying from high ranks.  This forum is against everything satoshi believed in now.  Satoshi would be rolling in his grave at all the abuse of power going on here. I call it like I see it.

Everyone here should be treated fairly

He would also not been happy with:

1) Members creating multiple profiles here to spam the forum, promote shit coins and bump own threads.

2) Account farming in order to participate in multiple signature campaigns.

3) New members accusing senior members and staff.

Also, the forum will always work as per the rules set by the current owner.
32  Other / Meta / Re: Add another rank on: March 29, 2018, 06:52:06 AM
Do you guys think that there should be another rank added for old sincere members of because lots of members are legendary for years and now new members becoming legendary, I guess it's important to increase another rank such as Supreme, Pioneer, or Ultimate to make them interested.

It's just an opinion let's see how people react to my topic if you like my comment thank you but if not comment your suggestions on this.

I do not think that adding a new rank is required. Some members are suggesting new ranks so that legendary members have some motivation to be active here to achieve that rank. But this is never ending process. After adding that rank, we will have to add another because of the same reason after some time.

There are other ways to keep the legendary members motivated and some are already in action. For instance, there are some signature campaigns that give more pay if a member has some earned merits. This is also applicable to legendary rank and thus they have something to look forward to.
33  Other / Meta / Re: Want to get some opinion about this. [Maybe a Proposal to Eliminate Farmers] on: March 29, 2018, 06:49:23 AM
In this simple suggestion it will help a lot to stop abuse from those already tagged users with high ranks.

If an account is already tagged as a merit abuser or anything their merit will be automatically disabled.
In this way we can instantly stop their abuse to send merits in creating new accounts.

Benefits to the forum and community:

1. No more merit abuse from that account: It will lessen reports that already tagged because if that account has many sMerit he will surely create a new account and pass his merits to the newly created accounts (that is happening right now).

2. It will be easier to clean the community: If their merits is disabled they cannot abuse anymore, and they will surely start from the start, and learn how to use the forum in the right and fair way.

3. They are forced to forget the account that has red tag: If their purpose is to join a lot of signature campaign which is the only reason for them to spam the forum, for sure that account with negative trust will never be active anymore because it has no use for them.

An possible example of one account that have already been tagged and trying to make a way to distribute his merits to his alts.
LINK: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3189979.0

Disadvantage: The only disadvantage of this that I see is that those accounts with negative trust and still active because they are promoting their service and others cannot send merits anymore, but its okay because there are only few of them.

Any other positive or negative suggestion's are welcome and will be appreciated.  Smiley

This is a good suggestion in my opinion because:

1) It helps to prevent wastage of merit points. I know that the merits sent by a person with red trust will be examined more strictly but we should not forget that those merits get wasted even if further abuse is topped.

2) In order to avoid the wastage mentioned in first point, once the merits are disabled for such user, the remaining merits of that user should be added to quota for merit sources so that those merits are still in circulation.
34  Other / Meta / Re: a tutorial section for bitcoin and altcoins on: March 28, 2018, 07:47:37 AM
There are already a lot of good tutorials shared here by different members. Only one thing is required and that is to arrange all those threads properly. For instance, all information regarding using a bitcoin exchange should be at one place. I am sure that there are enough tutorials for this already like, how to find a good exchange, how to register at an exchange, how to perform transactions at an exchange and so on. Similarly, it can be done for alt coins as well.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty and too many participants on: March 27, 2018, 05:08:39 PM
Hello community!
What do you think about popularity of the bounty campaigns? I see many new participants joining bounty campaigns, especially Twitter and Facebook. With more and more new participants, we will earn less and less rewards, also many of potential buyers would rather join bounty campaign than invest to ICO - again less rewards for bounty participants.
I hope that we will see some regulations here and bounty campaigns be more strict in rules and they will choose only the best participants.
So, what is your opinion, guys?

There is limit on number of participants allowed . You just have to apply before others to get accepted and this requires you to be very active on this forum. With time, you will also find out the mangers with most new campaigns.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How was your experience in joining bounty or airdrop? on: March 27, 2018, 04:53:49 PM
Till now, I have registered for dozens of airdrops and I don't even remember all of them. A few of these airdrops were especially rewarding, such as Stellar Lumens, Bitcore, Byteball.etc. But most of the others gave me just a few worthless tokens in my wallet.

What are the requirements to receive these tokens ? For instance suppose I register for Byteball bounty, will I have to make an account on exchange where it is listed and then give the byteball address ?

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Basic Bitcoins Strategies during downtrend? on: March 27, 2018, 04:35:45 PM
3. I joined more bounty campaigns and sold 100% most of them and convert to bitcoins then fiat.

How many alt accounts you created for this here ? Control your emotions while responding here. Smiley
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own 1 Bitcoin? on: March 27, 2018, 04:27:12 PM
I remember several years ago similar poll was made and i was surprised most of the users answered NO.
In case your answer is still NO, I'd like to know what is your main reason not to own one bitcoin?

EDIT2018:
In 2017 it was 51% YES / 49% NO.
I'll leave voting open and since we are no longer in 2017 I'll change the subject to "Do you own 1 Bitcoin?"

No, I do not own 1 bitcoin yet. I am investing some money each month and it should take at least 2 years before I accumulate 1 bitcoin. It may become harder if bitcoin goes above $50000 mark this year as I will get less bitcoins for same contribution.

40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without Bitcoin, Life Will Be Boring! on: March 27, 2018, 04:15:27 PM
I do not like the idea of depending on bitcoins so much. There is some possibility that bitcoin might not exist in few years and you will face problem in that case. Just treat it as investment option , nothing more.
