21  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Verifying Private Key Backup on: September 01, 2017, 08:21:12 PM
But is there any way to get the private key of the Mycelium wallet as I need it to sweep that private key using Electron Cash to get my BCH ?
22  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Claiming Bitcoin Cash From Mycelium Wallet on: September 01, 2017, 08:17:49 PM
Hi I am trying to recover BCC from Mycelium using Electron Cash in a PC (don't want another smartphone application like Coinomi).
The thing is, I introduced the Mycelium SEED into Electron Cash but balances showing in BCH not correct. Some in another thread says I have to SWEEP my Mycelium private key in Electron Cash.

I have the 12 word seed from mycelium but no idea how to get the private key to be able to do sweep with electron cash. Anyone knows how to get the private key (not the 12 word seed) from a Mycelium Wallet?

Thanks for your help.
The thing is, the original wallet in this case is on Mycelium on a smartphone. How can one "sweep" the data from the computer?

Thanks for the tutorial man. That blockchain link works very well. For me the problem is still deciding which wallet to use. Are you enjoying using that one, and do you feel secure with it. Why did you choose that one? Did you paid attention to any particular details?
I think a thread with a review, or tips on how to choose a BCH wallet would be great.

I looked in the bitcoin cash web page where they list a few wallets. The only one that I found that does not need to download the entire blockchain is Electron Cash, besides the hardware ones which I don't use.

So do I need to move Bitcoins off my wallets first before following your procedure? If I send Bitcoins to a new address, will the Bitcoin Cash still be at that address? I assume that would be the safest thing to do first to protect the Bitcoins.

Yes because if you don't move your btc first to a brand new wallet then you'd be exposing your seed/keys to Electron Cash, which you are gong to do but never if that seed/address contains btc just in case.
So, yes, I sent all my btc from my original wallet to a new wallet, leaving the original one empty completely of btc. Then and only then am I introducing my seed into Electron Cash, which is the software I'm using to try and get my Bitcoin Cash freebies.

EDIT:
Besides making sure your original btc wallet is completely empty of btc before proceeding to do the Electron Cash stuff, some other things I've heard that are convenient to do are:
- Use a different PC to use Electron Cash (a PC that doesn't contain any btc wallets).
- If you don't have another PC, try using a Virtual Machine to work with Electron Cash, and first take out of the PC all wallet files from btc wallets.
- Preferably use Linux always for all btc / bcc or any cryptocoins. Yoou can do a linux install in your virtual machine for example; I'm using Oracle VM Virtual Box, a free software, and Lubuntu for Linux there (Lubuntu is a lighter version of Ubuntu Linux).

I am copying this from another thread i started yesterday since the information should be here:

My post:
I had a wallet in Mycelium. Sent all the btc I had there to a new wallet in a desktop wallet type so as to leave it empty.
I installed Electron Cash, introduced the SEED of the Mycelium wallet (that was now empty of btc), and thebalance that shows up is less than I had originally in btc.
YES, they were pre-Bitcoin Cash bitcoins.
Also in Electron Cash, in History, it shows "not confirmed" on all of the transactions in the history.

Any help on this? My Mycelium wallet had only a small amount and was using it first to try to redeem my BCC before i do so with another wallet that has more.

Appreciate any help, links, thanks

Reply by BitcoinReseller:
Electron cash wallet has 100 inputs limit per sweep.
You have to wait till first sweep get confirmed, then you can do anther sweep.

if you want to claim your bitcoin cash using Electron Cash wallet try this step by step tutorial :

My reply today:
Thanks, reading the other thread now. In anycase, what about the "not verified" issue I get ? how do I get the balance of each address to show "confimed" in Electron Cash?In original wallet (mycellium) I had 19 entries in transaction history, in E.Cash only 15.  The thing is all the received inputs do show in the transaction history of E. Cash; it's the outputs that must be larger making my balance less that I had in btc. Maybe some of the "change" inputs from the outputs not showing....

NOTE: I did not sweep each individual key; rather I just introduced the seed from the mycelium wallet" when creating the new wallet in Electron Cash.

31  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is Electrum already Segwit supported? on: August 27, 2017, 02:57:06 PM
So is it still safe to transfer/receive btc with electrum 2.9.3 or does not having segwit support pose any risk of doing so?
32  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: August 16, 2017, 08:23:56 AM
Investing every month part of your salary, if you have a job, or part of your income, if you have income from other sources.
Then, every month or two sell a small percentage of your btc (which probably will have gone up in price) at a btc teller machine. If 1 or 2 months doesn't work, maybe every 6 months depending on the price evolution.

Ps: Avoid btc trading, it's a losers game.
33  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Worries: can anyone advise? on: August 16, 2017, 08:18:56 AM
Try buying some from btc machines too. In some if not all countries it is completely anonymous.
Regarding anonymity and exchanges, not sure, but those exchanges allow receiving fiat deposits via third parties, have at look at transferwise. I believe you would transfer fiat to transferwise from your bank and then transferwise to the exchange. Perhaps not completely anonymous but at least you would be able to do it, as, as you say many banks and even money transfer companies have a ban on btc related transfers.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unstoppable on: August 13, 2017, 01:22:38 PM
The things is there is no limit to how high it can go. Because the market capitalization is still such a small portion of the total world's monetary mass. And not only money from ordinary people but from major funds, corporations, nations, etc.

That said government regulations regarding btc and cryptos in general is something still waiting to unfold and the consequences unpredictable.

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 01, 2017, 09:06:55 PM
honestly just trying to dump bcc while its still worth .... now <$300

installed bitcoin-abc on a clean VM which at least shows BCC as the currency in the wallet ...

originally tried both the btc-unlimited-cash 1.1.0.0 but it still shows BTC as the currency so I didn't get the warm/fuzzy I'd hoped for...

both flavors install by default to the same program files / bitcoin directory and both use same executable "bitcoin-qt.exe"  in windows anyways.

reindexing now but it seems to be stuck ...

by the time my wallet catches up the price will likely be <$200  :-(

I read somewhere that Coinomi wallet supports BCC, besides BTC and other cryptos. In any case, even if you wanted to already, where would you sell your BCC now? I believe there's nowhere to do so at the moment yet even if some exchanges do show the BCC chart Huh
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1 summary on: August 01, 2017, 09:02:18 PM
If most people use BCH, what about the bitcoin fate? Will people stop using bitcoin?
And I heard information that BCH delivery is faster than bitcoin, and it costs very little. How is the bitcoin going forward?

If you are asking because you are a holder of BTC, as far as I know, no matter what happens -even in the case that BCC wins and BTC starts to decline- you will not lose as long as you still hold your bitcoin. Because, as long as you have your bitcoin (and your wallet seeds or private keys), if you don't sell them separately, you will also have BCC. Only when you follow instructions explained in this thread and several others to sell your BCC will you be at risk of losing everything in the case that BTC should die, which it won't. So, in summary, I'd suggest patience, waiting it out for a few days or more before doing anything, as most HODLERS are doing right now.
38  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: help splitting coins in preparation for possible fork on: July 31, 2017, 04:25:21 PM
Will do !
They can keep their FUDcoin; I'm not risking my BTC fooling around to try and gain a few easy bucks.
39  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Private Key on: July 31, 2017, 04:19:44 PM
Guys , need your help urgently, please. I have downloaded electrum 2.9.0 portable for Windows(since standrat exe version crashes after launch). When i was creating a wallet i only entered password for wallet encryption, no seed, no 2fa was shown to me.
Right now, i have moved all my coins from exchange to my electrum portable wallet and i am unable to export private keys.

I tried doing Wallet -> Private Keys -> Export {enter password}, but after i enter password nothing happens. No files in my electrum wallet dir.

There are 6 different addresses for all my btc holdings. What do i do now to be safe for 1 August and to be sure i get my BCC with private keys? Do i need to download another wallet that is capable of giving me my private keys ?

I have read a warn announce about moving BTC before importing private keys to BCC wallets, thanks a lot for that tip. Is that true ? Where can i read about replay protection ?

I know of the desktop version in Linux that when you first create a wallet you always are given a random series of words, which I think is called the wallet seed, and you are asked to enter them again before the next step which is you creating a password which you will need to use when you want to do anything with the wallet. If this hasn't happened in your mobile version you will need to look into the FAQ at the Electrum site and also the section on these forums for Electrum. But you SHOULD have that seed, that series of words which allows you to recover your wallet from scratch in case you delete the wallet file.
40  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Private Key on: July 31, 2017, 04:15:10 PM
- Would just keeping the current Electrum wallet that contains BTC without doing anything until situation clears in the next few days, weeks or months be a sure way not to lose any BTC ?
Assuming that your computer isn't compromised by malware etc, then yes, that would work... If you have no interest in BCC, then you don't need to do anything out of the ordinary. Your BTC will remain safe in Electrum.

And, in the, highly unlikely, event that something happens to the Electrum network, you have easy access to your private keys and can move your keys to another BTC wallet.

Thanks very much for your guidance !
My Desktop Electrum is on a Linux PC and as from now am not connecting it again to check balances or anything (had to do so a while ago today to make sure had confirmed -more than 30 confirmations- receipt of what I withdrew, ALL BTC, from exchanges). The PC will remain disconnected completely, and the wallet file is also on an usb stick and deleted in the PC itself. Of course I have nmemonic key and password on paper. Crossing my fingers...I don't care if I don't make any money fooling around with my private keys and BCC, if that entails ANY sort of risk for my BTC long term HODL HODL HODL position.
