21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin traders, why don't you just trade forex? on: May 20, 2014, 04:13:23 PM

Who said MtGox doesn't trade against people?  There's no regulation, remember?  No laws against conflict of interest, nothing like that.  Your data provider, broker, exchange, and opposing trader are ALL the same person (like literally one or two guys, not just a business entity) in Bitcoin land.  But yet people think regular FX is too rigged and risky?   Cheesy

Unlike rigged forex which trolls like you like to promote, mtgox doesn't have any long term interest in doing so.

Lol turns out mtgox didn't have any long term interest in anything else either
22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buyer Beware: Cointerra -Days since responding to my emails [11] on: May 18, 2014, 02:00:57 PM
Anyone heard anything back from cointerra in regards to refunds?
23  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: May 16, 2014, 01:30:44 PM
Ah, yes, I've received that as well. Hosted mining between $4.99 and $2.75 per GH/s, which I suppose isn't so bad.

Oh wait... http://[Suspicious link removed]/p7emyh

Difficuty climbs up fast like hell Angry

Currently it does, sure, but that won't last too far into the future. My point in this case is that it's a much more sensible investment (for most people) to purchase Bitcoins outright instead of either mining themselves or going through hosted plans.

Let's say the hosted hardware CoinTerra is offering somehow manages to get 1w per 1 GH/s. For a 12 month host, that 1w / 1GH/s will cost approximately $2.19 (@ $0.25 per kWh to cover industrial energy, space, cooling, and security).

200GH/s is priced at $999, and costs CoinTerra $438 to host. Profit is ~$2.80 per GH/s.
1,000,000 GH/s is priced at $2.75M, and costs CoinTerra $2.19M to host. Profit is $0.56 per GH/s.

If you go with the max plan, 1PH/s for 24 months:
1,000,000 GH/s is priced at $3.5M, and costs CoinTerra $4.38M to host. Obviously they can't have a loss, so my guess is either A) they've already factored in a baseline profit from developing the hardware itself (e.g. it costs less than $1.75 per GH/s to develop the hardware), B) I've overestimated the cost per kWh, C) something I've missed, or D) a mix of A, B, and/or C.

In any case, they've got some high margins on plans most people would actually purchase. Things only get reasonable when you start spending a few $100k-$1M.

I've been waiting for a refund for months. No response the my messages. Wouldn't trust this company with that sort of money.
24  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: May 14, 2014, 10:07:43 PM
I am so boared with the whole Cointerra- Terramine Hosting ( it is the same CEO ).

I am waiting for refund now over 5 months even if I made a storno and deleted my order before the money arrived at their banc account.

They are holding me online since 4 months. No refund moral.

I paid with Fiat and I although gave them the possibiltie to pay in BTC.

Heard nothing anymore since two weeks.

Exhausting and I think I take an american lawyer for this issue.

Anybody such bad experiences with them too?

greetings

I'm in the same boat, waiting since Feb and still no reply.

Getting worried they may disappear over night before they refund their customers.
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra Refund Issues on: May 13, 2014, 01:19:46 AM
I am waiting too for a full refund of 10.471$ about my order  SX7002 on Cointerra.com and  #831 on terraminehosting.com.
There are past over six weeks.

If I do not receive a refund in 7 days I'll proceed through legal action.

We are all entitled to be refunded.  Let's just hope cointerra do not disappear and do a go on us. They have been ignoring refunds enquiries for a while now

26  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cointerra.com is now offering cloud mining on: May 13, 2014, 12:57:53 AM
would a return be made if someone bought one of their contracts?

I wouldn't hold your breath.  This is not profitable.
27  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cointerra.com is now offering cloud mining on: May 13, 2014, 12:16:06 AM
Cointerra have money to launch this. But cant afford to repay the customers you promised to repay? where is my refund? Why have I been waiting so long? You sent me a message on here after months of ignoring my emails saying it would my request will be processed in 48 hours, when I asked what does that mean you continued to ignore me again.
28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Have you been scammed by cointerra? on: May 13, 2014, 12:07:27 AM
same boat - staying patient

expecting to be refunded but not happy about waiting so long.

is there a direct line number to call, maybe they can offer more info over the phone.

This is a good question. I too have failed to get in contact via the phone.  Anyone else have a phone number for cointerra?
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A word from the team at CoinTerra. on: May 12, 2014, 08:30:38 PM
I am going to file an best indevor indemnity claim with bank of america because they are completely ignoring everyone's messages, and the way they are dealing with their own customers is just awful. My trust for cointerra has gone. I just hope I can get a reasonable response from the bank of america in regards to this fraudulent company.
30  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What are your thoughts on Cointerra's NEW mining Asics card? on: May 12, 2014, 08:23:35 PM
Do not trust this company. They promised me a refund and now just ignoring all of my messages.
31  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buyer Beware: Cointerra -Days since responding to my emails [8] on: May 12, 2014, 06:11:39 PM
Still yet to receive any reply from cointerra.  Has anyone else heard anything back yet?
32  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Have you been scammed by cointerra? on: May 11, 2014, 09:01:00 PM
I wouldn't call it a scam, but it is a slap in the face to have very quick turn around times for my first few emails, then being told I'd get my refund processed in a week, then absolutely no communication after that. I bet I could email them about a question and get a response within a day, but if I ask anything about my refund, nothing but silence. It really sucks beccause they don't have bad products. Just poor communication skills when it's something they don't want to hear.

Ever thought why they are silent on questions regarding refunds?
33  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GB]Terraminer IV #5, Coinsortium on: May 07, 2014, 03:32:52 PM
another cointerra scam.
34  Bitcoin / Hardware / Have you been scammed by cointerra? on: May 07, 2014, 03:15:08 PM
I have been very patient with cointerra. Waiting with confidence for my refund, however as each day goes by and yet another ignored request leads me to believe i may have been scammed.

Legit companies respond to messages.

Legit companies refund thier customers on time.

cointerra is non of the above. I have the emails to prove it. They simply refuse to respond to my messages.

I must have tried to contact them and been ignored atleast 50 times

no miner and no refund and still waiting for this non responsive company to respond.

Who else is failing to get their money back off cointerra?

Has anyone got a response from cointerra in regards to a refund?
35  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ARE YOU A COINTERRA BURN VICTIM ? on: May 07, 2014, 01:21:54 PM
CoinTerra strives to provide accurate and timely customer service. When possible we also connect with customers who are experiencing issues directly through PM here on bitcointalk.org, and will continue to reach out to ensure that all customers are given the support that they deserve.

Very Best,
Team CoinTerra

If this is the case, why didnt you respond to my PM

your lies knock me sick.

i paid my money on time..... in december..... no miner turned up.... i asked for a refund..... no response..

as a result no miner.... or refund.... or response.....

your customer service is far from timely. its non-existant.

you only reply to sales. once you have thier money. you do not respond.

it is a typical scammers way to communicate

get thier money and send them nothing and ignore them.

the bullshit they say on here is just awful about how great thier customer service is.

cointerra has lied about everything from the start.

and continue to lie and lie and lie.

you have failed to respond to any emails. facebook twitter and PM on here.

yet you have time to write bull shit like the quote above.

Who are you trying to kid cointerra. Refund us now.

36  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ARE YOU A COINTERRA BURN VICTIM ? on: May 07, 2014, 01:04:51 PM
Then what are they talking about?

looks to be some combination of competitors or fanboys trying to trash 'the competition'.  even if some of the scam accusations are from current or former customers it doesn't make cointerra a scam.  scam has a specific meaning being akin to a 'con'. scam companies don't or haven't shipped, or delay shipments indefinitely. - whereas cointerra has shipped all their pre-orders (in most cases, within a few weeks of the due date and most of them in the actual month they were due and in some cases earlier than expected - and now sells from stock.  that isn't the definition of a scam company no matter which way the word scam can be stretched.

can't compare them with other companies that customers are right in calling scams because they sold preorders and promised dates that they are nowhere close to achieving, and in many cases didn't ship systems to customers.  some keep playing the shell game (bitmine, hashfast, butterflylabs).  these companies are months, and in some cases as much as 6 months late in deliveries.   heck, even kncminer isn't as stellar as it once was (read their forums for more details).

yet another shill working for cointerra.... either that or delusional..... I like many.....did not get my pre-order on the promised date. i don't think anyone did......try sending them money and getting a refund, im sure your attitude towards cointerra will change.

i sent cointerra my money. they sent me nothing.... i asked for a refund.... i hear nothing.......

Now please tell me how you judge my situation.

because if ive not been scammed then i must be missing something.

no miner or refund or response....... how can you say there not scammers?Huh??

i message them daily to hear no response.

are you for real?

how much is cointerra paying you to spread your nonesense on these forums.

as you seem to jump down the throat of any customers on here who complains about them.

cut the bullshit. legit companies respond to customer emails. and have a customer service employees. i dont believe cointerra even cares

once they have your money its on to the next sale.

Typical scammers mentality.

we all know cointerra is a scam now

they cannot hide it
37  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A word from the team at CoinTerra. on: May 07, 2014, 12:42:17 PM
Also they were kind enough to pm me the info.

Becomes frustrating this also happened with ice fury usb sticks. they were crushed by ant miners u1 and u2 sticks.

the ice fury is a better pice of gear but cost too much.

I am sure the coin terra   1.6th is better gear then the dragon 1th I have hosted in china but the china price along with paypal protection and no payments to paypal until June 10th with 0 interest was much better for me.

As an old-timer at mining. (2 years and 1 month)

With a really good credit rating combined with the IRS ruling on 600 + usd bit coin payments, paying in btc for big deals does not work for me.

I report everything since I make some money.  The send 2 ,3 ,4 k in btc to an address does not work anymore.

As hard as this is on me it must be killing builders of the gear.

they may have been kind enough to PM you info.

but trust me on this..... when you want a refund. you will get no response. They have pretty much scammed me. They didnt send out my miner. So naturally request a refund.

now they just ignore my messages. The only people being refunded are the people who have took legal action against cointerra.
38  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A word from the team at CoinTerra. on: May 07, 2014, 12:33:41 PM
So it's been over a week and they're ignoring my further e-mails and PMs...and not picking up their phones...
Cointerra, wtf?

Theres con men that operate their businesses with more professionalism than cointerra. the constant lies in thier post here make my skin crawl. Especially how they call their refund customers trolls makes me furious. Give us our money cointerra you bunch of scammers.
39  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buyer Beware: Cointerra -Days since responding to my emails [5] on: May 07, 2014, 12:25:55 PM
Sorry, are you 5 days over the 4 weeks waiting?

i am only waiting for 2 weeks but you guys freaking is slowly starting to concern me.

I e-mailed them 4/2 requesting a refund and confirmed it with them 4/3 so...it's 5 days over for me as well.  Given the constantly dropping price on their website to try and compete my guess is that they ordered a crapload of parts for machines and then everyone tried to cancel their orders so they're trying to raise cash for refunds by selling more machines, but not communicating with anybody is probably reducing their sales.

They owe me over $56K at this point...which comprised the vast majority of my life savings as well as getting one of my old friends to chip in money for a mining company.  Of course since they sit on much of my money they're causing all sorts of problems-I would have honestly preferred to take delivery of hardware at the original promised specs, since the power and cooling bills would have actually been reasonable and giving us some mining income but luckily our accountant's family is full of lawyers and they've been talking about helping us out at reasonable rates.  I don't want to take this there but Cointerra is making it really hard to just sit here and wait when they won't communicate.

it seems the only people who have actually been refunded, have done so through the means of legal action. I don't know anyone who as been refunded by talking to cointerra because they do not respond to messages. I was thinking if i messaging them saying i wanted to buy they would probably respond instantly, but you mention the word refund you will just be ignored.
40  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A word from the team at CoinTerra. on: May 07, 2014, 02:05:42 AM
A word from the team at CoinTerra.

Since we started shipping the TerraMiner IV bitcoin miner we have, as you may understand, been exceedingly busy providing support, answering questions and handling the workings of everyday business.  We recently announced that we had passed the 5,000 TerraMiner mark which is an incredible achievement, made by a small but dedicated team here in Austin, Texas. An effect of this has been that as much as we would have wanted to, we haven’t had the bandwidth to spend as much time as we have wanted to on the forums.

We acknowledge that a lot of questions and issues are discussed here on bitcointalk.org rather than through our support channel and we will attempt to be more attentive to the community, and provide what information we can in forum threads that concern CoinTerra hardware.

Unfortunately it would be near-impossible for us to answer all open questions on the forums on a case-by-case basis and individual customer support requests should always be communicated through http://cointerra.com/contact

To give everyone in the community a better understanding of where we are we would like to provide some general information here to help those looking to solve an issue, get up and running with their hardware or simply stay up to date on our development.

Forum Conversation:

We have been alerted to the fact that there are a significant number of “troll” accounts here on bitcointalk that exclusively post inflammatory posts concerning legitimate companies.

We have been reaching out to individual users who have posted issues via private message to address concerns they have expressed in the forums. To our surprise very few members have answered our request for contact, typically these are users with a low post count (although not always).

We would encourage users to use their best judgment when determining the legitimacy of posts here on the forums (whether they be CoinTerra related or otherwise).

Support:

We always attempt to reply to all support request inquires within 48 hours. At times this has taken longer due to a large volume of support requests but we are currently very close to this goal.

We may occasionally reach out via private messages here on the forum to users requesting support and posting in threads concerning CoinTerra. It is always our goal for all of our customers to receive the support they deserve. Due to privacy rules we are unable to respond to individual customer issues in a public forum.

RMA:

For customers that experience issues with their CoinTerra hardware we have a consistent procedure in place to diagnose issues (starting with the customer providing us with system diagnostics unless it is a very rare occurrence of a DOA system – usually due to a shipping mishap) and approved RMA’s now have a typical turnaround time of less than a week.

New Pricing Model:

As you may be aware we have recently moved from our fixed pricing to a new “spot pricing” model where we take into account many factors in the bitcoin ecosystem and adjust our prices accordingly.

We believe that customers appreciate the option to purchase in-stock mining equipment for immediate delivery at a price that we feel is very competitive in the marketplace compared to our competitors.

Next Generation:

We know that many are interested in what the next step in product development is for CoinTerra and we are, for the time being, still laying the groundwork for future product series. We will provide the community with information on our next generation of bitcoin mining hardware in the near future: All product announcements and updates are made on our website at http://cointerra.com

ASICs, Boards and D-I-Y:

In addition to our retail sales of bitcoin mining equipment we have had many requests for sales of components that would allow the community to build their own bitcoin mining equipment based on our technology:

We have recently opened up sales of the GoldStrike I 28nm ASIC chips and boards for mining builder projects and would be happy to discuss the opportunities presented by this with those users who may be interested in developing custom mining solution around our ASIC. If you would be interested in developing your own mining solutions using the GoldStrike I you can contact us via PM here on [Suspicious link removed][/email] for more information.

General:

Since CoinTerra was founded back in mid-2013 the bitcoin ecosystem has exploded and in less than a year bitcoin has grown from a rather publicly unknown project, to what we expect will soon be a highly-adopted transaction ecosystem. As a company dedicated to the success and adoption of bitcoin will continue to deliver industry-leading technology at a highly competitive price, and strive to improve in the areas that need improvement, whatever they may be.

These are very exciting times and we are humbled to be part of a movement with such wide ranging implications for finance, trade, technology and society as a whole.

Team CoinTerra

You have FAILED to answer any of my support requests, emails, facebook messages, twitter messages, and PM on bitcointalk.

You offered me a refund, I accepted. now you ignore my messages everyday. the link you posted http://cointerra.com/contact is what i have been using to contact cointerra, and you have never responded, other than the same automated email saying 'your request has been submitted'

Other people are also worried about thier refunds.

You have yet to address the issue of refunds and also have stopped taking phonecalls.

What is going on cointerra?

This is not professional way to conduct business. Very amateurish.

The way you can just lie to us again unsettles me, your customer service is awful.

48 hour response? no chance. been waiting longer than 48 days and still no response or refund.

you have had my money since early december and refuse to give it back.

please explain yourself cointerra to me and the rest of the unhappy customers you accuse of being trolls.
