Well i've been debating between the 2. Should I just file a dispute with paypal? or go straight to the back and file a backcharge? I would imagine the bank would be best as they are ultimately the ones who make the financial decision.
Also, I have sent 1 last message to him in a attempt to reestablish communication. I doubt it will work though.

If you have the option to chargeback, I'd do so immediately. There is no valid reason to leave an exchange unfulfilled for more than a few minutes, let alone two days. Either he is a scammer, there was a miscommunication and he doesn't realize you sent anything (in which case he won't miss it if you chargeback), or he is a lazy inconsiderate slob who you shouldn't be doing business with.
My thoughts exactly. I'd like to give the benefit of a doubt, but after 2 days its way past due.

I made this thread at the beginning of the week.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=389588.0Naturally, the connotation of paypal + btc = negative. However I was legitimately looking to buy btc. So then I strike a deal with with "MikeCorleone". These are now quotes from the thread I made... Well, its coming up on almost 24hrs since i've sent payment to "MikeCorleone". And i've yet to see anything on my end? no communication from him since late afternoon yesterday...
What is going on over here? I'll give it a little bit more time.
are you still up .. or doomed by a scam ?? if you are still up pm me i can exchange btc with paypal.
Well before I make another purchase, i'd like to get this current situation figured out. I would appreciate the insight from other board members as well. Made the deal "MikeCorleone" a few days ago, sent payment via paypal a little over 48 hours ago. Nothing since, no communication, no bitcoin. He hasn't even logged again since late afternoon on 12/30. I'm actually kind of surprised by this because he does have some trust/feedback. So its been over 48 hours with zero communication from his end. I hate to use the word "Chargeback" as it is taboo here and everyone hates it, but what else am I left to do? Wait it out? for how long? or just get my money back and buy from the other forum members who are selling. So at this point, i'm looking for some 2 cents before I decide on my next move.

A few weeks ago, it was figured that on cex, it would take a person 250 ghs to mine 1 btc in 1 week. Now i'm curious, with the most recent difficulty change, what is that number now?
Same time frame of 1 week, but how many ghs has it increased to?

Say I pay via Visa/MC, how long does that generally take to clear? and how long tell the transaction is complete?

Bumping this, doing a deal with "MikeCorleone" for some btc. But still looking to buy a little bit more.

Title says it all, just curious what may be the fastest/easiest and most reliable way to deposit USD at BTC-E? i've done some research, but some stuff i've found seems like it may not work anymore.

probably not. sometimes the pp from stolen,or washed funds. Good luck w/chargeback. You'll be suspect, forget about the money [/quote] Yeah. Scammers have had a real field day. Its frustrating when you simply want to buy btc with pp, but its nearly impossible because scammers have ruined it for all. So the connotation is instantly pp=scam. I've gotten a few messages for potential trades, but its either from people with negative trade feedback or people who charge a price 20-30 percent higher than market price. My point with making this thread was to buy btc faster. If I go back through coinbase, it wouldn't be in my wallet until Friday (close to a week). However i'm starting to see it just might be worth it.......the price of btc hasn't been fluctuating that much, and going through a service i've had experiences with before will give me that piece of mind. I'll give it tell the end of the day to see if anything works out ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) I originally had worked out a deal with "jimmyvance" (from a few posts above) on his terms, but he has since stopped communications by not responding to any of my messages....

Don't do it, because a working laptop is much more valuable than whatever you would be able to mine with it.
Seriously, don't do it. It will overheat, throttle, and destroy the lifespan of your device. Sell it and buy coins if you are that motivated.
x2 Its just not feasible with a labtop. Altcoins may be a better option, then you can hang on to them or exchange them for btc.

10 days ago it was around .073 7 days ago it was around .065
Gradually in the last week it has gone down to .042
I'm assuming this is a reaction to the difficulty changing. But how low do you guys think it will go?

Well, this thread has turned out well ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) at this rate, i'm assuming I probably won't find a reputable seller who is ok with pp. Might as well go with coinbase soon ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

Thanks bitcoiner222. I am not a scammer, but i know in a situation like this, it is simply just my word without much to back it up. I'm ok to use a escrow service, the issue (as you have mentioned) is the paypal factor. I really like paypal as I have used it plenty before and its fast, but finding a escrow that is ok with it is tough.

Title says it all. I'm just looking to buy 1 btc with paypal. Looking to buy sooner that later. I have ebay feedback.

Got a link? I've looked on ebay before but all i've seen are mining equipment or .01btc? nothing like 1 actual btc?

I've gone through virwox a few times. I like the speed, but your right they do have higher fees. sadly there is a cap of 150us per deposit per 24hrs ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

I buy through coinbase. The thing with that though is that even after i've had my account verified, i still have to wait 4-5 business days to actually receive my btc. Other than localbitcoin, is there any way to receive btc's faster?
