Banned from #pandacoin just for sharing a feature list for FedoraCoin (http://pastebin.com/VhzKqZpw), even though there are people there spreading all kinds of hate and not even getting kicked...

Banned by wolong himself actually... someone seems scared of TIPS Wink

What? I wish I owned 2.5 billion coins, but right now my balance is less than 100 million.
The only premine I did was when I tested to make sure it all worked, which was maybe the first 3 blocks. I'm not even sure if it was the first 3 blocks since I had someone else test with me and mine at the same time, so maybe they own a few blocks from that 3.

Edit: just a reminder guys, I made FedoraCoin in the days (day? maybe a week?) before CoinGen first appeared, I had no idea if it would work and I wasn't sure about how to use testnet, so I mined blocks on the main net instead. I only counted 3 blocks mined before I released it on 4chan, so I only count those blocks as a premine.

To reiterate: ES955wEjq33sJyFrRrrkDfw6d4nGH11uxX is not owned by me

Sorry guys, looks like I'll have to delay the mixer launch till tomorrow.. Don't worry though, this way we'll have everything done perfect in time for the launch Smiley

If you're impatient you can always get early access through the dev IRC channel, just join https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/#team-tips and ask for the 0.60 download link.

No worries.

So what is the point of having your own rpc wallet?
We'll be talking about the wallet and user system in a later announcement Wink The work for it is done on the client/wallet side, but we have a lot more to do on our side before it's ready.

Let's just say that you shouldn't get too used to the qt interface right now Smiley

Thank you , i love your awesome ideas and your works ( team Dev. and community of course).
Fedora is NOT another altcoin, i believe will be future of cryptocurrencies.
I will try to use Fedora in my honey shop.
Thanks for your kind words Smiley
It's good to see people are realizing Fedora isn't just another "clone -> rename -> release -> dump" coin like almost every other coin released recently, unlike 90% of those coins we actually have a thriving community and people who are actually working to improve the coin Wink

Anyhow I'm sorry to say this but I might have to delay the coin mixer launch till about 9PM, while I finish up writing things for it.
If you're impatient you can always get early access to it (and help us test, although all tests have gone well so far Cheesy)
Just join #team-tips on IRC and ask for the link (web client to IRC is at https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/#team-tips)

Just designed two banners as a little gift for the coming new version of TIPS. Feel free to spread it out and tell the world about TIPS

Those look pretty cool, might use these as my signature on other sites, thanks for your work Smiley

We probably should just open a new thread for technical discussions only. Anyone?
Good idea, I'll probably start a new thread for the coin mixer release.

where can i find a .conf for solo mining?
It's the same as any other coin, set rpcuser/rpcpassword to your login and set server=1 and daemon=1

Can we add commas in the new wallet?
In the received TIPS area as well as the Balance, unconfirmed, etc.
How's this? Wink

Coin mixing service ==> COMPLETE!
Thanks to everyone who's helped test it so far, it looks like the mixing service is working great, even better than I expected!
0.60 looks about ready to release, pending some more last minute testing.
(if you want early access to 0.60 and you want to help test, join us in https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/#team-tips to receive a download link)

The full release is planned for tomorrow at 6PM GMT
(as long as everything goes well, as it has so far Cheesy)

0.60 brings plenty of changes, such as the distributed coin mixing service and the new per-user wallet system (two firsts for any coin!)

If you want to start a coin mixing node (receive 2% on top of every mixed transaction processed!) please get in touch, it only requires two separately located servers and a few million coins to start the mixer off with.

Full 0.60 changelog:
Quote
* Built-in coin mixing/anonymizer service, to conceal transaction origins
    - Mixing services can be announced to the network and are chosen by clients at random
    - 2% fee is added on top of mixed transactions to help out and give incentive toward running mixing services
    - A guide to starting a mixing service is available below

* RPC user system, become your own web wallet!
    - Users can be added with the adduser command and passwords are changed with the passwd command
    - User wallets are stored separately to the main wallet
    - Passwords are hashed with a per-user salt to help strengthen them, their password is also used to encrypt their wallet ensuring only they have access to their coins.
    - The encryption password can be changed with the usual commands, affecting the users password
    - Users have restricted access to commands, only the main admin user can use them all (admin user is read from fedoracoin.conf when 0.60 is first run, rpcuser is later unneeded in the conf file afterward)
    - A full list of commands is available below

* Alert key changed, now you can get alerts near instantly after an important announcement
    - You can use the -alertnotify setting to execute scripts when alerts are received
    - New admin-only commands: createalert, signalert, sendalert - only useful with the alert private key.
    - Mixer announcements use the same system as alerts with seperate keypairs, also has a set of admin-only commands: createann, signann, sendann (again only useful with the private key) and listann

* JavaScript/AJAX access now enabled on the RPC server, allowing web frontends to connect to your wallet (if allowed)
    - For an example of this set rpcuser and rpcpassword in your fedoracoin.conf file and also add daemon=1 and server=1 on seperate lines at the end
    - Run the QT wallet and after it's loaded visit http://fedoracoin.net/js-wallet/, enter your rpc login there and make sure the url field is set to "http://localhost:22888/"
    - Alternatively you can create a user in the debug console (with the adduser <username> <password> command) and login using that users details
    - Wallet is directly connected between your browser and your local wallet, our servers aren't anywhere in between

* Changed coin denominations to thousands and millions
* Improved sync with updated checkpoints
* Code now builds with no warnings on Windows, very few on other OS's
* TestNet now enabled, you can test whatever changes you like on there
* 500 billion coin limit now forced thanks to the new getchainvalue command
* Splash screen made transparent

* New commands:
adduser <username> <password> (admin only) - adds new user
authuser <username> <password> (admin only) - tests user login
passwd <username> <password> (admin only) | passwd <password> (user only) - update users password
root (admin only) - displays root username
whoami - displays logged in username

createalert <too many args, see help> (admin only) - creates alert data and outputs hex data
signalert <alert hex data> <privatekey hex data> (admin only) - signs alert data with the private key and outputs hex data
sendalert <signed alert hex data> (admin only) - sends (correctly signed only!) alert to the network

createann <too many args, see help> (admin only) - creates announcement data and outputs hex data
signann <ann. hex data> <privatekey hex data> (admin only) - signs announcement data with the private key and outputs hex data
sendann <signed ann. hex data> (admin only) - sends (correctly signed only!) announcement to the network
listann (admin only) - lists mixing announcements in effect

getchainvalue [uptoblockidx] - outputs current chains total value up to given block idx

* Updated commands:
getinfo/getmininginfo - updated with admin-only info
sendtoaddress - add :mixed to end of destination address to send the coins through a mixer
sendmany/sendfrom - add :mixed to end of source account to send the coins through a mixer

* Admin only commands:
stop
getconnectioncount

The mixing service is about 99% complete!
...we just need to test it now.

My tests have been successful so far but we need more people to try it out.

If you want early access to help us test it join #team-tips on freenode (webclient at https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net/#team-tips)

Also contact me on irc (IRC is tipsfedora) if you'd like to be a mixer node at launch, the only requirements are that you own two servers that are in separate locations and know how to admin them.

Changelog for 0.60 so far, join the IRC linked above to help test it:

dear invisibel

can you help me for solve this problem ?

i love and love fedora but i cant get my coins from cryptsy ... withdarw pending after 1 days ...

Transaction ID, hashcows should give you this when you withdraw.

i used from https://www.cryptsy.com and no hashcows
There's nothing that I can do I'm afraid, I only develop the coin, I can't control transactions :/
Doesn't Cryptsy have a support ticket section on their site? Maybe try asking there.

closed source  very good news! for tips
Just to clarify, it's only the mixing nodes scripts that'll be closed source, the wallet/client itself will be open source (including the mixer part). If any coins want to copy our mixing feature they'll have to put in some work and reverse the scripts themselves Smiley

Top work and hope we are giving back by pushing the mining during the "rough" periods.
Anyone mining TIPS is giving back in my eyes Wink
Kudos to everyone who mined during the dark times though, even though they hardly benefited they still chose to help us out, it's great what a community we have Smiley

thanks for everything you are doing to help support the coin
It's no problem to me Smiley I actually enjoy supporting it, just wish that we had more graphics designers to help out with things (eg. an infograph showing how normal transactions aren't anonymous and how mixing works would be nice, bonus points if it talked about the "anyone can start a secure web-wallet" feature too Tongue)

Catanonia   crazy right  Grin

Yup, glad left my miner running last night, was going to switch it off.

Nice to see the pools working better now with good blocks being found within reasonable times. Taken a while for the new algo to kick in properly, but seems to be stabalizing enough to make up for the last weeks worth on grinding on the GPU's Smiley
Sorry I made you guys go through that Tongue I should have made it kick in sooner, but I thought we'd get to 51000 by the 6th :/

By the way I wrote a small guide on how to setup your own mixing nodes, you'll need some coins to start the mixer with, two geographically separate servers (as in, located in separate areas) and plenty of time to spend on setting it up Tongue

Guide is at http://pastebin.com/GkJeFjwW it's a draft but it should give you an idea of what you'll need.

Edit: Also I should probably mention that during this avalanche of altcoins the mixing node scripts used by TIPS will be staying closed source, and will only be shared with people after they've signed an NDA with us. In the future this might change but for the time being it won't be released publicly.

microcoin was scrypt jane and it was such a pain to get it to work i gave up on it.

i searched and searched for help and never got the miner to work

And i have been into this for a few years. so imagine a newbie comming in
Things are different from before though, cudaminer now has scrypt-jane built in and there's an easy to use fork of cgminer that supports it too.

me too, wallet synchronized but transaction doesn't seem to exist

What pool did you mine on? I think there might be some pools still mining on the wrong chain

my wallet is at block 51000...

When will be the mac wallet update?
Oh yeah sorry, I forgot to announce that here, the new mac wallet is released on http://fedoraco.in/
Let me know if you have any issues.

It's still 0.43 for mac.
Weird, try refreshing the page or just download straight from http://fedoraco.in/files/0.56/fedoracoin-0.56-osx.dmg
If that link doesn't work try changing it to fedoracoin.net, we changed servers recently and not everyone has updated yet.

We're discussing implementing + switching to scrypt-jane for the next release. It'd cause yet another hard fork, but also give us protection from multipools as none are configured for scrypt-jane.

It'll also require all miners/pool owners to set everything up again as scrypt-jane is much different to scrypt.

If you want to voice your opinion about this don't post in this thread, join us on IRC and lets talk about it. We're at #TIPS on freenode (or click here to join us)
