As someone who has been here for quite a while, like I said on the Discord, it's best not to promote that there will be major news, because it can only lead to disappointment. I hope I'm wrong, but unless Bill Gates is joining privcy, it's best to keep everything on the low.
This has me a bit worried about the major announcement. What wrote does make some sense, because the reaction could be negative if the big announcement does not live up to the hype. Hopefully it's something like, a big time celebrity, Kylie Jenner or something with her twitter followers will be supporting Privcy.

I feel your frustration seeing that people bought Bitcoin at a penny, and for the same Bitcoin you have to pay many thousands of dollars. It actually kind of hurts because it was there all along.
In reality we don't know if we're late to the party, so I'm sticking around.

I've been monitoring the market for a couple of months now. Most of the coin value rely on the price of Bitcoin. If the BTC price goes up, every altcoins will follow and if it will goes down, the price of every altcoins will goes down as well. But the question is, Bitcoin price/value is still going up but the price/value of every altcoins especially Ethereum goes down. How did this happen? Any logical or scientific basis to explain this. As of now, I am still confuse. Ethereum is not really tied to Bitcoin as much as other alts. And sometimes people sell their alts in mass to buy and hold Bitcoin.

That's kind of a silly question. It implies that just randomly throwing money willie nilley into ICOs is a normal, common, reasonable thing.
Unless someone is extremely naive and at the same time can somehow use a computer, they're not going to throw money into every ICO they come across.

No. This really depends on many factors, such as who is in charge and their competence. People in government are not there forever, and even if you have decades of great leader, some day someone is going to come along and F things up.

Newbie question. But what exactly is a bearish and bullish? I do know that bear is negative in crypto.

It's risky, but there's always a chance that an unknown good, low markatcap coin could one day go like 300x.

It's an ICO platform, and ICO seem to be dying a bit.

This thread is so old, I thought it was about now. If it's about now I don't think it's going to go up much higher this year.

Bitcoin prices have never been so low this year. Prices were down to 5,826.41$ (Jun 24 2018 16:04:00 UTC). Many advisers say that at the end of the year it will hit 30,000$. The market is seeing more than the fall from the price rise. Imagine when the speculation will end?
The speculation will never end. People have always speculating and will continue always. I speculate that it won't be at $30,000 by the end of the year.

No. The reason why was because growing up I would see teenagers thinking they were so cool because they were smoking weed and "Being bad." It just seemed lame.

I have a Swtich, no PS4 XBOX one, so for the PC my favorite games are GTA V and GTA IV.

This was back in September, and as we saw with the Bitcoin prices it did not affect it at all. We're at a point where a single country cannot really affect the price.

It's all very tricky when people lack knowledge, or are brand new to something. They quite don't understand all the subtleties. That goes for even really smart people, if they don't have experience they will make mistake, sell when they should hold, etc. It's not necessarily stupidity, just lack of knowledge.

I find that it can be kind of difficult to money launder using Bitcoin, since where are they going to sell it? Coinbase? Places like Coinbase have to follow country laws. People on the street? Not liquid enough.
Cash is still the best for this.

The fees are too high. I sold some of my alts, about $200 worth, to send to my bank account, and I still haven't sent it because I'm waiting to get more, because of the fees. So it's not as easy to use everyday due to the fees.

I've had 100% of my crypto in alt coins and it has not been good. My thinking being that it might give me the greater chance for return. But after reading some comments I think I really should a large percentage into Bitcoin. It's just tough because you're basically putting back less than what you started with.

the project is less than half a year, and in the branch there are already more than thousand pages of discussions. I think this is a good sign and it is worth looking at this project
Yes it is a good sign, though at the same time it does seem to have people who hate it. I wonder how that balances out. So, you guys have missed the 1st ANN thread. I guess we did. How many posts did it have?
