Can you give more details how we apply pencil hb and and which because at first photo you have the heatsink and I can not see good

The resistors are all marked R3 on the board.

How to apply the graphite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNXSHpPACGs

But don't try this mod if you haven't got a multimeter!!

Thanks for the quick reply Jedimstr,
I trust you mean this file
  antMiner_openwrt20140207.bin  update openwrt and PIC firmware

I also just noticed the in the software log the only diff between the four good and the 5th was file cgminer
3.12.0-1 for the good miners and 3.8.5-1 for the 5th bad one.
Will the bin from above update the cgminer as well?
TIA
Jedimstr,
Thanks for the help, We have upgraded and are hashing!!!!!

You're welcome...yes it looked like four of your miners were on the latest firmware already with the newer CGMiner and the 5th one just needed the update to match.

whats the new firmware achieve? Im updating my miners now and there is no immediate effects - temps and 5min hashrates look roughly the same

Less strain on the controlboard and an updated cgminer.
23  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S1 1/4/14 cgminer version issues? on: February 21, 2014, 11:40:41 PM
Just to verify.... If I flash back to older firmware I won't brick this thing right? I have a January model that's working great with this older 3.8.5... So, shouldn't but.........

Should not be a problem!

Try to flash the old firmware: https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/blob/master/firmware/antMiner_openwrt20131226.bin

Guys, that empty fan header on the other board - is it a standard one? Can I plug a 3 pin fan into it?
[/quote]

Yes, but use the 3 pins from the top, as the 4th (buttom) is PWM and will make both fans go to max RPM if connected by the 3 pin plug (;

Guys, should be looking at the brightside of things.... Who cares if these are "used", so what, he made a killing off them before we did... all ASIC manufacturers do this.
these were never advertised as new, just in stock and ready to ship.
Should be grateful that we got a good price on them and that they work.

Quoting Bitmain, from Jan. 13:

"Hi all, we have sold out the testing batch. All the bought miners will be shipped no later than Wednesday, most likely Tuesday.

Now we only reserved some of the S1 only for testing antminer's mining pool. More Ants are being produced.

Thanks for your support, and we will open sales for another batch of miners in about 2~3 days, which will be shipped in 3~4 days from now. "

Come on Bitmain,

I received a Dead on Arrival (DOA) unit.  I relocated the controller board to the other blade and managed to get one of the blade working now.  I need a replacement/RMA for the other dead blade.  When I took off the fan and realized that i received an old, used, dust filled Antminer S1 worst than my vacuum cleaner.  I have sent you an e-mail and I see that you forwarded my e-mail to Sushi for support but so far I received no replay back.   I am losing mining time here.  Please help.

When I order, your website did not mention anything about  "old, used, or previously owned" miners, it never did say new either.  Guess it's live and learn on my part.

Here are some photos showing that's it's filled with dust.

Looks like that Ant has been "tested" for more than 5 days!!

If you mix Louis XIII with Coca-Cola it is actually drinkable (;

Don't let the French hear that, you sound like an illiterate barbarian and problably are to them.
Nothing is overprized in this world as long there are people who are willing or can for them.

Whatever dude, like I would give a f... what the french thinks!! Come back when/if you actually have tasted one or both!!
As for who's the illiterate, I can spell "probably" (;

I sense jealousy, you missed the boat when BTC was easy to mine. Grin

The last order I placed will arrived sooner than my 2 orders who are stuck in Mumbai, but I am not complaining.

BITMAIN, Happy Chinese  New Year.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY_JGTWFU8c

I will probably goto Fenggang in march this year , a small city near Shenzhen.
If you have time and are near Shenzhen I want to treat you and your team with a bottle of Remy Martin Louis XIII.
I collect those since 1999, but have never opened a bottle before.
I think it's time to open one to celebrate.

If you like cognac, this one is so much better than the overpriced crap from Remy Martin: http://www.brandyclassics.com/chateau-montifaud-louis-vallet-heritage-petite-champagne-cognac.html
Share the Louis XIII, with people that think that just because it is very expensive it must be better! And enjoy the Monti with someone who actually appreciates good stuff!!

P.S.

this is a copy and paste from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348327.240

the instructions are available, but basically:
-SSH in using port 22, u/p is root/root
- 'vi /etc/config/asic-freq' enters the editor for the file
- 'i' key enters edit mode - go ahead and make the changes
-'ESC' returns to view mode
- ':wq!' writes the file and quits the editor
-reboot

Thanks. What are the options exactly that needs changing? And to what?

Just remove the * in front of the 400Mhz settings and put some in front of the 350 settings that are default  (o:

Is there any particular reason I am being ignored by bitmain?

Not that it matters, as I got confirmed by MtGox (cheers ^^) today so I'll be taking my money elsewhere. But seriously, horrible customer service.

They will respond eventually (;

As for their service to be called horrible; I would say that they might need to hire someone that knows to do "office stuff", seems like they are all "techies" and not used to deal with "millions" of mails piling up ( my correspondence with Bitmain is around 30 mails back and forth ) That is a nighmare for anyone not used to that sort of thing!

Just my experience with Bitmains customer service (;

P.S.

Remember the stress dear Sushi had to deal with in the group buys (:

cyberspaced,
1. Since beginning I am telling people not to buy at this price so I do not care my money are not spent for something that will not roi even at 2.2 btc
2. As bitman says it was Holliday when you requested cancelation. Besides what was the reason for cancelation because you fill fucked up?
Or because of an hour shipment delay? are you a god or a god relative to complain for delay in hours which does not have any influence to your delivery date?
And finally do not forget that from a legal point of you btc payment bitman owns you NOTHING. Even spending his time to answer you
So in your inteRest is to keep your anger in place and learn your lesson for next time when to buy
I strongly suggest next time to Ryder from Bfl the service rocks there as an US company

1. Sorry to have missed your wise words!!

2. The holliday is the Chinese New Year on Jan. 31 2014. "Besides what was the reason for cancelation because you fill fucked up?" What are you trying to say?
One day delay on shipping and that means it will arrive Monday ( with some luck, it's UPS ) and not today! So surprise, it has a lot of influence on the delivery date, and I'm not a God.

"I strongly suggest next time to Ryder from Bfl the service rocks there as an US company" more wise words??? lol
Chinese new year lasts more than a day, most of the companies employees start getting off a week or so before, basically all manufacturing in China stops for a week or two.

Thanks for the trivia, but what had that to do with this week?
Production is lowering, even now some employees at some companies are getting off.

So now you're speculating or have you visited Bitmains productionline today and seen them go on holliday? And what has that to do with items that are already shipped? jeez
