21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 13, 2024, 04:10:35 AM
Whenever I win, I usually feel this strong urge to gamble more and also increase the amount I'm using to gamble. I do fall for this urge most times and the result is always disastrous as I end up losing the money I won with great pain and regrets. The only time I can say I have won is when I make withdrawals and possibly use the money for something else. As long as the money is still in the platform, there is a high chance of using it to gamble more. I decided to create this topic to see how other people manage their winning in gambling. If I notice a better approach, I will switch immediately as I don't want to continue experiencing the pain of winning and later losing the money again.

Yeah this is also true for trading. If you make alot of money gambling or trading, its obviously best to make a withdraw because if you keep trading or gambling the chances are greater that you might lose those winnings. However its a double edge sword. If you withdraw you can't earn more. If you keep gambling you can make more and more money everyday, same with trading. Thats how so many professional traders earn their living actually. If they withdrew on their first day, they wouldn't be where they are today and the same goes for many professional gamblers.

I think the best thing to do is do a partial withdraw where you withdraw your initial investment and you keep gambling with the rest. Try not to deposit what you withdrew which you might end up losing again.
22  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Just For Laugh] What kind of advice is this? 😂 🤣 🤣 on: June 13, 2024, 04:05:45 AM
I am pretty sure both those posts are fake and they are clearly for entertainment only.

No bookie is just going to only keep your cell phone number as a way of contact. It would be way too easy for any losing bet to basically buy another sim card for $5 and get a brand new phone number. And same with the guy that replied. Owing money and he is suggesting to borrow more money and bet that money as a means of paying off both bets.

He is just doing it for exposure and its funny but its definately fake.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone should make utility meme coins using solana it's good profit on: June 12, 2024, 10:14:46 PM
Yeah I agree they need to have more utility type of coins. But even if they release more of these useful coins or tokens they still won't be as successful as those celebrity meme coins. There was that POW miner which is based on SOL, it got tons of attention when it generated huge backlogs on the Solana chain and its market cap is only something like $5M, while you got celebrity meme coins which are in the $50M range and other coins like that WIF dog at an even crazier market cap.

Its not about the utility, right now its where the most profits are at. People rather buy some useless celebrity coin which can 100x instead of some useful utility coin which will only go up 50%. Keep in mind, most people involved in crypto are not in it for the technology but for the profits, it was always that way.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Understand Math? on: June 12, 2024, 05:17:36 AM
I don’t think you understanding math or not would help you out in gambling. The only way I can see it helping is that you do a calculation and you see that it’s almost impossible to win the lottery and you decide to give up instead of wasting time.

In most gambling roles the probability is independent from the last. Many people don’t understand this while playing dice. They think that since they got 10 losers in the row the next one needs to be a winner. When in fact each roll is completely independent from the last. Not understanding this is why many blow up their accounts.
25  Economy / Gambling / Re: How high is the probability of accusations vs. casinos in BitcoinTalk are true? on: June 12, 2024, 05:13:48 AM
Yes I noticed this also, it’s been happening for years and it’s almost always a new account and that’s why it’s hard to take them seriously.

Some people do make emotional decisions while gambling and go on tilt and end up losing it all. Then they try and say they were scammed in hopes they get a refund. They figure the casino doesn’t want bad publicity and they might get their money back. But it rarely works out that way.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZkSync airdrop is out on: June 11, 2024, 10:20:56 PM
Yeah if you go to their discord you got hundreds of angry people. People posting their accounts and asking why they aren't eligible when in fact that they do the required tasks.

I am surprised I didn't get eligible when I did in fact provide liquidity for a few months and I also did some NFT trading. Some of the other requirements like doing 5 paymaster transaction, donating to their Github or owning those Libertas Omnibus NFTs were just too rare for most to achieve. I also did way more than 10 smart contract interactions, so no idea what is going on.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ZkSync airdrop is out on: June 11, 2024, 07:46:01 PM
Basically after finally 2 years, they finally released their airdrop. Unfortunately most people will be disappointed.

I had a couple of accounts that I used in hopes of getting an airdrop one day. I started in January of last year, and tried to use it from time to time monthly, I didn't abuse the network by having hundreds of accounts, so today I go and see if I am eligible and turns out "You are not eligible".

This is proof that you cannot take the airdrops too seriously. A couple of weeks ago the Eigenlayer airdrop disappointed many, then the Drift DEX airdrop and now the Zksync airdrop.

Did any of you succeed in getting the Zksync airdrop? I won't post any links, just go to their official website and find the link to Zknation for the airdrop checker.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A way to be safe from Rug pull on: June 11, 2024, 05:42:59 AM
Meme coins on Solana are mostly rugs. Last month there was 500,000 tokens created and how many were successful ? Maybe 100, or maybe 200 or so. The rest were all pump and dump or rugs pulls.

This Is one of the problems with DEX. Usually with a CEX, they do their investigation and only list credible tokens because they don’t want their users to complain. But with a dex, anyone can launch a token and most just launch rug pulls because they want a quick buck.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Internet don't forget, many times Donald Trump says bad about Bitcoin on: June 11, 2024, 05:31:20 AM
I think his stance changed on crypto because of 2 reasons.

First being he had that Trump Card NFTs about a year or two back. These were fairly successful and he made like a few million or so dollars out of them. I think there was also a round 2 version of his NFTs. So obviously he can't be anti-crypto if he is selling his NFTs which are directly related to crypto.

Second being he has friends from Wall street. Many of them are making crazy money if crypto succeeds and they are probably pressuring him by telling him to be lax about it and in return he will get their donations for his campaign. He is probably good friends with many of the CEOs who launched the Bitcoin ETFs like Larry Fink.

30  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: June 10, 2024, 05:19:36 AM
There could be alot of reasons why the wealthy win more than the poor and I don't think luck is a factor. I think it has to do with the fact that the rich usually will have a limit on how much money to bet and they will stick to that limit. If someone has a net worth of $1,000,000 and they lose $1000, they don't really care. But if you take someone who has a net worth of $2000 and they just lost $1000, most likely they will be on tilt and start to revenge gamble to win back that $1000 and we all know what happens in this situation, they end up losing even more money.

So the rich aren't as emotional and they don't get into these tilt situations where they aren't thinking and they start to bet more money than they can afford to lose and end up blowing up their bank account. This same situation applies to trading pretty much. Those which are overleveraged usually are the ones which lose money than those which are trading with a regular spot account.
31  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any reliable virtual crypto debit card right now? Solved on: June 10, 2024, 05:12:50 AM
I assumed that back in late 2017 all these Visa cards were prohibited from providing any crypto services. I remember long time ago you could order a card, get it sent by mail, and you just loaded it up and could go to any Bank ATM or buy anything at a store and it would work. Then for some reason Visa disallowed their credit cards to be used by any crypto services, probably due to the fact that they were all no-KYC.

So 7 years later and what has changed? have they reversed their decision and now you can use their cards again to make payments or withdraws or does it only work with certain exchanges like Coinbase where you are fully KYCs. I always wondered if these Visa prepaid credit cards would make a comeback.
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Breakout Alert! 🚀 on: June 10, 2024, 05:07:44 AM
Bitcoin is continuing its uptrend following the Elliott waves pattern. Currently, it's trading within a symmetric triangle pattern, which typically breaks in the direction of the prevailing trend. Get ready for a big move after the breakout

Out of all the different trading technical analysis out there, Elliott waves is the only one that I could never trade properly.

I had software which could detect all the waves but what you don't understand is that in hindsight it seems easy to find out what wave you are in but in reality you might be in a different wave than you originally assumed. I find that when backtesting it seems to produce good results but its very difficult to implement in practise. So this is why I don't think elliott waves should be used as a reliable indicator to make trades.
33  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: FTX will repay everybody 118% back on: June 09, 2024, 05:34:30 AM
Yes SOL has alot to do to make this possible. SBF has held large amounts of SOL. I think when SOL went above $70 or so, it made FTX solvent again. Many of their coins were actually locked and can't be accessed at the moment  but the bankrupcy has managed to sell them for a huge discount (50% or so). Seems like a bad deal but who knows how many years until those tokens are actually unlocked, who knows what the price of SOL will be then.

Depending how much money there is left over, maybe they will compensate those who had actual crypto stored on the exchange instead of using Nov 2022 prices. Because unless you had stablecoins only on FTX, you are most likely taking a huge loss even if they actually pay the 118%. For bitcoin you would need to get paid back 400% just to break-even with todays prices.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Please HELP: Sent ETH through Arbitrum instead of ERC20 network - Anything I can on: June 09, 2024, 05:25:54 AM
These situations are always scary and its pretty much up to the exchange or wallet service that they use.

Some exchanges will recover the funds, because its very common to do, some do it for free while others charge a fee. Its very easy to do, just extract private key from ETH wallet and use it to broadcast the transactions on the ARB chain. The issue here is their hot wallet provider. For security reasons maybe they cannot extract the private key. Or maybe its possible if you just contact them. Good luck to you. This is a horrible situation to be in.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trading on telegram bot is safe or not? on: June 09, 2024, 05:21:23 AM
The reason why people want to use trading bots is mostly for fresh coins. Usually the coins which just launched you cannot buy yet on Jupiter or Radium, you need to use a bot. I used BONK bot before and didnt have any issues, just loaded a small amount. They charge some fee so be-aware of that.

Keep in mind, you might have better luck than me but most of the newly minted coins are generally rug pulls. In May there was over 500,000 new tokens released, and there was maybe 20-30 successful ones daily, so yours odd of buying a hidden gem are extremely rare.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 500sat/vb for a transaction? Has the world gone mad? on: June 08, 2024, 07:43:55 PM
Why would OKX consolidate their UTXO with a variable fee. Say they got thousands of unspent inputs, why not just create a bunch of transactions and set the fee to 5 sats/vbyte and slowly broadcast these transactions as old ones finally confirm.

Doesn’t make sense to create a bunch of transactions and make the fee variable and pay a low fee for the first batch of transactions and a higher fee for the rest. Some dev messed up in their dept. Unless it’s not the exchange creating this congestion.
37  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I quit binance futures trading and i do now only solana meme coins trading on: June 08, 2024, 07:35:57 PM
Past week or so I am sure there was profits to be made on those celebrity tokens and gme. Basically if you had alerts set on twitter and you bought right after they made an announcement of launching their meme token, you could of gotten a decent entry and profitable handsomely.

Same with gme if you followed roaring kitty Reddit or YouTube channel. These are extreme low cap meme tokens and they can move quick. If you get in early you should make a profit.

But it’s a lot of work. I don’t have time to stay glued to the computer and wait for certain celebrities to make tweets they are launching a meme coin.

Hence I stay out of all these tokens. Way too risky.
38  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How does this Bridge make a profit exactly? on: June 08, 2024, 07:31:41 PM
It’s 7% because they only sent a dollar. If they sent $10,000 I am pretty sure the fees wouldn’t of been $700. It was some transaction fee or transfer fee that they deducted from the USDC.

With stablecoins some chains have slightly different prices but they are never off by 7%. Try and find some other transaction which has a larger value being bridged than $100 and see if the fee will still be 7%?

Of course, the percentage will be smaller for larger transactions. A small percentage can still represent a decent profit. Here is a transaction where a user bridged 525.13 USDC on Ethereum and received 522.69 USDC on Base. The difference is 2.44, even though the bridge contract only used $0.004 in gas on the Base network. https://explorer.synapseprotocol.com/tx/1990271054d10b0af3ffc5aa31b92a89ca63b41e8dda604d0fda709f5b9c6b99?chainIdFrom=1&chainIdTo=8453

The only transactions they don’t seem to profit from are when bridging from any network to Ethereum, because Ethereum fees are so high. The spread is only enough to break even or have a slight loss, although there are very few transactions where Ethereum is the destination chain.

Yeah I noticed this also. Almost all the bridges except from/to Ethereum are extremely cheap. So I am thinking they take a loss when someone bridges into ETH and if someone bridges in reverse from say ETH to ARB they will break even on that fee.

Since the user bridging from ETH will have to pay a large fee to initiate the bridge while the destination chain such as ARB will have a very low fee.

Ever since the last ETH fork, it’s extreme cheap to perform most transactions on L2 networks. Hopefully they don’t start to add fees to destination ETH bridges because it’s affordable at the moment.

But if ETH fees go back to the constant 50-100 gwei congestion, then I am pretty sure they won’t be eating a $50 loss on every transaction.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / How exactly does the 1inch Fusion work on ETH swaps? on: June 08, 2024, 07:24:00 PM
So I decided to stop using Uniswap because of their crazy 0.25% fees on major pairs like ETH/USDC. Decided to use 1inch instead.

I connect my wallet and some Fusion option comes up, it says 0 gas. I am thinking “wow, perfect”. So I do a swap because fees are low at 5-6 gwei.

I do the swap and it’s successful. I go and check my wallet and I was charged like $15 for the swap fee. I also noticed for a simple ETH/USDC swap, I had like 10 different hops. Went from USDC to USDT then WBTC then SOL then Some other coin and finally into ETH. It was a large transaction and very expensive.

Reading the docs on their website, it says it should be gas free but I am still charged gas. Anyone know what is going on here?
40  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it still possible to retire early? on: June 08, 2024, 07:18:43 PM
Yeah it’s still possible if you are lucky.

Here in Canada, depending on the province many are retiring early because they are selling their house and moving to a difference province and adding the +$1 Million to their retirement and quitting work early.

Along with the massive gains that everyone got on their RRSP from the bullish stock market in the past decade, many of these boomers are very comfortable and just retiring.
